Default OPK??

Is it ok to use the clearblue fertility monitor while on clomid? Even with PCOS?

Use the First Response one that is the most accurate.

OPK's are not always accurate for women with PCOS. OPK's test for the LH surge just prior to O. Many women with PCOS have constant elevated LH levels and therefore OPK's only turn up positive for them. They never indicate O. If you are going to give it a try, make sure that you are able to get negative before they turn positive. If you are able to get a negative at the start of your cycle, then they may work for you. Clomid has no effect on the effectiveness of the OPK.

I've used a Clear blue easy monitor and it worked for me. Although, I've heard that they often don't work for PCOS women. I've also heard that clomid can effect their effectiveness. When I used clomid it seemed to work. Hope that helps. Good luck!

Colie - do you have any details on how Clomid would effect their effectiveness? I don't see any reason why it would.

I used cheap online opks both with Clomid and without. They worked for me just fine. HTH. It's different for everyone.

The clomid should not impact the effectiveness of the OPK's... I used them while on clomid and got accurate results (it wasn't the monitor, just the sticks though). I did have several days of "light lines" before getting the actual positive, so I don't know how the monitor will interpret that...
