Follistim + IUI successes

If you have had success using Follistim pen and IUI, please share your experiences, i.e. how many days you used Follistim and how much IU, how many IUIs you had, and what sperm count number dh had. Also please list how many cycles you were on injectables before BFP.

Yes, I used Follistim and IUI for 3 cycles before I got the infamous BFP *3!!!!
RE started me out on first month of about 75 of Follistim. By 3rd month, RE upped my dosage to 200, and then the last 2 days it was up to 300. this month I got preggo. I did get OHSS mildly, but it did go away.
The first 2 months, DH's sperm count was like 70-80 million, and like 90%. Now, with these sperm counts, DH and I DTD the night or so before. On the 3rd month, our schedules were crazy and we did not DTD for like a week or so. His count the 3rd month was 177 million!!!! He had super sperm that month b/c we did not DTD!
Also, the first two months, as soon as my eggs reached 15, RE scheduled IUI for 3 days from then. My IUI's were always on a Saturday. now, i don't know if this is a coincidence or not, but the month I got preggo,RE did not schedule my IUI until eggs were like 19-20. Then I still had 3 days from Thursday to Monday before I had IUI. I'm not sure if the first two months, maybe the eggs were too premature??
Anyway, good luck to you-it does work!!!!
And, when I got a BFP, I was SURE it was a BFN-I had no signs whatsoever!!

Is it safe to DTD the same day as the IUI?

Got pg on first cycle of follistim + IUI. Started out at 75, then 100, then to 150 for 2 days. Had 3 mature follies; don't know what dh's sperm count was, only that it was good! Had IUI on c/d 20, dtd that night and next 2 days. Got my bfp 13 days past IUI. Good luck!

I got pregnant on my first IUI with follistim.

I only had one follicle. They took it VERY slow with me, be patient if it seems that it is taking forever. They were afraid that all 20 of my undeveloped follicles would grow if they took it too fast. I was honestly about sick of the whole thing near the end and was seriously considering taking a year off from TTC after it was done. Sooo... don't give up!

I got out my calender so I can give you my dosages and the days I had to go in to monitor.

CD3 Monitor 75ui
CD4-7 75ui
CD8 Monitor 75ui
CD 9-10 75ui
CD11 Monitor 75ui
CD12 75ui
CD13 Monitor 100ui
CD14 100ui
CD15 Monitor 100ui
CD16-17 100ui
CD18 Monitor 125ui
CD19-20 125ui
CD21 Monitor 125ui
CD22 125ui
CD23 Monitor TRIGGER
CD24 Day off!!!
CD25 IUI

I think it's fine to BD after the IUI, it wouldn't hurt. They told me to BD the night of the trigger but my DH was out of town on business and had to fly back early to produce the goods for the IUI. The only BD we did was on CD21. We didn't BD afterwards, I didn't think there was any point as I figured that the egg wasn't any good after that many days of being stimulated.

My follicle was 20mm the day of the trigger and my lining was 11mm. DH had 12 million forward swimming sperm. I got my BFP at home 10 days after the IUI.

Oh and I did not have any follicles over 10mm (when they start measuring them at my RE's office) until CD21!

I was seriously thinking that my body was defective or something.

Brenda: Your post really helped me compare my cycle with another. Can you give me some insight on my dosages and days of follistim:

CD3 - They found a large cyst on u/s. RE said to wait until CD5 to decide whether to go on BCP or whether cyst would shrink.

CD4 - No monitor

CD5 - Back at RE, cyst shrunk. RE said ok to start injectables,
Follistim 125IU.

CD6: 125IU
CD7: 125IU
CD8 -100IU - Monitor
CD9: 100IU
CD10: 100IU
CD11: 100IU
CD12: 75IU - Monitor- estrogen levels high, lots of follies
CD13: 75IU- Monitor

CD14 - Trigger 5000 units (4 or more follies of about 20mm or greater, lots of small ones)

CD15- IUI #1 (not yet O): dh count 10 million
CD16- IUI#2 (u/s still showed some large follies, not sure if I O'd) PA said I did, but I can't be certain. dh count 4 million.

CD17 start of progesterone capsules 2x/day for 2 weeks

My lining was about 9mm. I started to get follies right away when I started the injectables. Last cycle, Clomid only produced one good follie, it was BFN even though dh count was 48 million. This cycle, I have more follies, but sperm count is lower.

Brenda: I see you took injectables for 14 days. I only took it for 9 days. And my RE started me off at 125IU and decreased me to 100IU and then 75IU, whereas your RE started you on lower dose at 75IU and increased you to 125IU. Not sure why my RE did what she did.

I've been getting stomach pains the last few days. I thought it was due to the several large follies I had. But if I O'd shouldnt' they shrink?
