BC pill caused depression.......

I was diagnosed in January and put on a BC pill, (mercilon) but since about february i have been seriously depressed,so my doc took me off the pill last month. Before i went on it i hadn't had my period for two years...we are kinda waiting to see whats happening...
my period was due last week and didnt come...where do you think we should go from here?
we are trying to avoid anti-depressants,and going off the pill seems to have helped...but if my period doesnt return?
Dont know what im asking really,just if anyone has had a similar experience.
