Where do u get it? I've been looking around pharmacies for it. Is chasteberry and vitex the same thing? How do you take it and how much. I'm not taking any thing right now, but met. 2000mg, and am trying to conceive. I have stopped taking clomid, got up to 200mg and not luck. I stopped about 2 months ago on that.
thanks,

Chasteberry and Vitex are the same thing - but have you been combining a low-er/good carb diet and exercise with your Met, and have you been taking at least 1,500 mg/day of Met? The diet/exercise gives the Met a real kick-start, and the 1,500 mg/day is considered to be a minimum theraputic dosage.
Doing things this way will help control the Insulin Resistance that's causing your PCOS and fertility issues in the first place, so, as it tackles what's happening underneath it all, that works better long-term than tackling a particular symptom.
You might also want to research what's in the Fertility Blend - I'm not a big fan of "blends" of herbs - mostly because they are still meds, and you can react to something in it, but not know what you're reacting to.
You decide what works best for you, though.
What DOES have a great history of working well is Accupuncture! So, if you can, I'd REALLY recommend seeing one!! They are usually good herbalists, too, so they would be able to give you MUCH better advice about what herbs would be good to take.
Take care, and HTH!! 8)

I have been on 2000mg for about 1.5 years now. As for exercise, welllllll, I don't regularly. I try to eat a little healthier now, but when I went on 2000mg of met. I lost about 20 pounds, and now it's kind of stopped. I've taken met for about 7 or 8 years altogether.

The Met is really meant to be used like a cast on a broken leg - to hold things together until you can "take over" with lifestyle changes. Your body will, eventually, get used to Met, and it sounds like that may be what's starting to happen. Since you are already pretty much at the highest dosage, you can't really increase either (some docs will prescribe more, but not many).
I would really recommend that you check out www.sparkpeople.com. To start off with, they just want you to track what you do (and they do all the calculations for you to make things easier). When you do, I'm sure you will be shocked to see what you're actually doing to your body - I was, and I thought I was actually doing pretty well! That really made me - well, I was kindof disgusted every time I saw junky stuff for a while, there, because I could SEE exactly how bad it was for me. Then, you take small steps, one at a time, as you feel that you're ready and WANT to. That way, it doesn't feel like any kind of torture, or hardship, or anything, and that's when the changes STICK.
Lifestyle is SO important in managing this dis-ease, and it seems like most docs don't really let people know about that.

Vitex was crap for me. I haven't had a period in months and so I was trying that (among many other things) and it didn't help out at all... so now the dr is going to try prometrium...
