Hello,
Am new to PCOS, and Deaborn..need to find a GYN that can help me with initial diagnosis and treatment. Just saw a family practioner who suspects PCOS and suggests a GYN check up. I have 1 boy (2) and we are hoping for another, but with all this new information, I want to be sure I go to a reliable and experienced GYN who knows PCOS.

Any referrals would be really appreciated. Live in Dearborn, am willing to drive if necessary, prefer female doctor, and attempted 32 hours of natural childbirth and delivered with a cesarian...want a doc who wouldn't be opposed to trying natural again....being new to MI I am not even certain if Midwives are allowed in hospitals, etc.

Anyway, just looking for some help.
Many thanks,
Carla

Hi Carla,
I found Dr. Eisenstein through the reproductive endocrinology department at Henry Ford Medical Center in Troy. He has an office in Detroit in the New Center Area and one in Troy as well. He is supposed to be great. I have yet to see him myself but, the nurse practitioner in his office is amazing. He is an OB/GYN so, he can help with your quest for a second child. However, I have found that if your insurance covers it (mine does not) a reproductive endocrinologist is the way to go. They are on top of everything and will give you a full work up of test to be sure the PCOS is really what you have. Plus they specialize in reproductive medicine so they are aware of all of the advances in PCOS treatment. Good Luck!
