Has anyone heard of a diabetic plant? A man at work told me that there is what he called a "Diabetic Plant". He said that he took it and got rid of diabetes. Unfortunetly, I wasn't able to get much specific information from him because english is his second language and there is a bit of a language barrier :(. He said that you pluck the leaves and brew it like tea and drink it.

Has anyone heard of anything like this? If so, is it something that would be good for PCOS'rs?

Is he Indian by any chance? I take an Indian Ayurvedic herb called Gymnema. Maybe it's that?

i was doing some random research for another post and found the answer to this one. I was rereading on wikipedia about metformin and it was made from a plant. French Lilac

here's the excerpt on uses
Uses
Galega officinalis has been known since the Middle Ages for relieving the symptoms of diabetes mellitus. Upon analysis, it turned out to contain guanidine, a substance that decreases blood sugar by decreasing insulin resistance.

Chemical derivatives from the biguanide class of medication include metformin (Glucophage, commonly prescribed for diabetics) and the older, withdrawn agent phenformin.

I bolded the scientific plant name

Stevia was also used to treat diabetes in South America. That could be it, too.
