Hello I too am from Nebraska. There sure aren't many of us are there? I just found this site today and boy is it helpful. I have a quick question, what type of doctor do you go to for treatment of your PCOS. I started w/ my family doc but he didn't seem to know much about it so I switched to a RE. Should I be going to an Internist (sp?) Thanks

That's a good question. I go to an ob/gyn and am happy with the level of care she is giving me right now. I think the most important thing is that you find a doctor who is knowledgeable about PCOS and can give you adequate treatment.

Hello. I am a fellow Lincolnite trying to sort out this crazy problem. What doctor are you going to and how did you get pregnant? I'm on my 3rd month of 100mg Clomid. My doctor won't raise my dosage because I am very petite and thin. I did develop a dominate follicle, so she gave me a HCG shot. I appreciate your input.

I'm not trying to get pregnant so I can't answer that part of your question. The doctor I see is Christine Stevens. Hope this helps a little bit!

Hello, I went to a Reproductive Endocrinologist to help w/ getting me pregnant. Her name is Maud Doherty. She is very good!! She is in Omaha and has a year long waiting list to get in. I was put on a cancelation list and was able to get in after approx. 3 months. We too tried several rounds of Clomid from my OB/Gyn and my ovaries didn't respond what-so-ever. What worked for us was a combo of Pergonal injectables and IUI (introuterine insemination) As you can see from my sig line we were blessed w/ triplets. It worked the very first time. I was young though, only 24 when I conceived. I hope this helps some, I know how tough it can be to long for a child and not be able to get pregnant. Take care and feel free to ask me any more questions.

I am not currently trying to get pregnant, but I have found a trust worthly doctor in Lincoln. Dr. Paul Hayes. His Clinic in the Woman's place. He is a OB doctor and the hospital he works out of is Saint Elizabeths.
I just went to see him again today. I was having issues with my period lasting two weeks and heart flutters. I pretty much know why, but he is the doctor that should know the reason. He instructed me on after I finish this last cycle of Prometrium to stop taking it. That the Met. is doing it's job and that I don't need any extra progestron.
I went through several doctors, starting with my family doctor (he is no longer my family doctor). I then went to a general physican, in turn directed me to an OB doctor which in turn directed me to a Endo doctor (my opinion about her is another story), which directed me back to the OB doctor. I had a surgery, then a child, then he wanted to do another surgery and I didn't want to be cut open again for what he told me was only Endometriosis. I found Dr. Hayes through a friend and he has been my doctor since October 2004.
Hope that helps out a bit
