Hi, I am from Connecticut. I was diagnosed about 3 years or so ago. I have been to an Endocrinologist at UCONN Health Center who basically told me to lose weight and my symptoms will go away!! It's that easy, huh? :)

Hello! I'm in the Hartford area. I also went to Uconn and they told me the same thing.
Its a very frustrating problem. I get more and more depressed about my hair daily. I keep trying I haven't given up but it scares me.

I'm not on any medications right now just trying to lose some weight. I have some thinning hair problems and hair growing on my neck. I had some irregular periods but not overly bad. They put me on Birth Control pills a while back.

I am on this site as my 21 yr. old daughter was just diagnossed 3 weeks ago, and had emergency surgery on March 15, at Yale New Haven Hosp. they removed a 30lb "tumor", her left ovary and fallopian tube..They had to "cut" her from her breast bone down to her under her belly button the thing was as big as a a basketball!! I am here to try to find out more info, support groups etc..We live in Milford, and are currently seeing an OBGYN in New Haven at the Yale Gynecologic Oncology Group, on Howard Ave. in New Haven...At first the docs thought it was a "Germ cell tumor" which was not good, ...but it was not..thank goodness....So i would love to hear from other members..She has to back to the OBGYN on April 15, and i guess we will discuss further treatment at that point...She doesnt seem as concerned about this , as i am...In hindsight, she had developed alot of the symptoms that go along with this disorder....anyway, just needed to post :)

I found the endo Dr. Oberstein to be very helpful he has an office in Hartford and in Bloomfield under CT Multispecialty
