I was diagnosed with PCOS almost 3 years ago. Everything was going fine until this past August when I had 3 periods within one month. I was taking Metformin ER 500 mg 3 times a day. That was working, I have dropped 40 pounds in the last year. I went to the doctor and the only thing he suggested was to try the depo-provera shot to stop the irregular periods. So far that has worked great, except that I am very moody. My husband tries to understand but doesn't. Has anyone tried depo-provera and liked it?

My husband wants to have another baby, but we have been trying for a year and a half, and nothing. Now this mess. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Depo- provera is not great if you are planning to TTC since it can take awhile to get out of your system. I would stop the shots asap if you are planning to TTC soon.
An alternative for lack of periods and excess periods is provera. Its a pill you take once or twice a day. Most women on the board who take it say it makes them moody/whitchy as hell but it works. For me I don't get periods and it brigs them on.
I'd def. talk to your dr about ttc so he'll provide some options besides depo.
I'm sure some other ladies here will be able to shed more light on this.
