crazy period problems

my periods are really weird! i have them about evey 3-8 weeks and they last bout 2 weeks! im thinkin of going 2 my doctor n asking 2 go on the pill...do u think this will help. ive now started a proper diet and exercise regime as well as taking metformin. i dunno if tis will help :S any1 have periods this long? how do u deal with it? any help wud be apprieciated. x

i'm 15 and my peroids used to last for 3 months.....I went on the pill and haven't had one since I had my last surgery......in my opinion the pill is a good way to get everything sorted out and it tells you when you're supposed to get it( that way you can plan around it if needed). Let me know how it goes

Like young1 it was not uncommon for my periods to last weeks, months even, it was annoying, stressful and always getting me down. But the doctor put me on the pill...and oh my god! It's like heaven! I really suggest it. Regularity, and I find they're not so heavy-thank God. Atm these are the only meds I'm on, so can't really comment on anything else.

The question: How do you deal with it?

Well...it more dealt with me. I'd just be in crappy mood all the time cause it went on forever, and was so heavy. but knowing there were people out here, like me...and that there was actually something wrong, and I'm not a random freak helped immensely. You just have to sort of struggle through I guess.
