I'm in OKC and I'm currently the PCOSA contact for the state of Oklahoma. I am attempting to generate some more interest for a support group here in our state. If you would be interested in something like that, feel free to contact me.
Have a great day! :D

Hi Melissa
My name is Ann. I was diag with PCOS ( I think) about a yr ago through bymy OBGYN. I didnt think it was a big deal so when she put me on met, I stopped taking it. Until my husband and myself decided to try and get PG. I went to Dr Haas right away( I knew there was an issue because my husband and I never tried to prevent to get PG, and it never happened) Dr haas was able to go into more detail about PCOS and express how important the met is to take.
To make a long story short I have been seeing Dr Haas since Nov. and my last 4 ultra sounds He has seen no signs of PCOS, so I guess the met is working.. Good luck to you. ( I live in Bethany, Okla.)
I am currently waiting my 2 week wait to see if my last IUI took. I have been on clomid for 3 months now and I do HCG injection. I had 2 eggs this month mature, one from each ovary.
If you have any questions and or need to just talk. You and I can start our own support group for now!! My email address is anniecallahanie@hotmail.com and I would be more than happy to talk to you about my experience.
Thanks and sorry for rambling!!

Hi everyone from Oklahoma! I live in Woodward, but I lived in OKC for 6 years. I keep seeing everyone talking about Dr. Haas. What kind of results did you get with him? I am currently seeing Dr. Strebel at Mercy and he has been really great. I was surprised that there isn't anymore people from Ok. on here. I would love to start a support system that is local.

I was diagnosed last Wednesday with PCOS. Dr. Haas is also my doctor! He is absolutly amazing! I go in next Thursday for a HSG to see if I have any blockages. My DH was also tested- he was in the go! Now, it's all up to me. I am on Metformin 1500 mg. I was on clomid for 6 months with no luck, then I decided to go to a RE and there Dr. Haas diagnosed me. It's good to know that I'm not the only one.

Hi I'm Jenny and I just signed up tonight. I live in Edmond. I see Dr. Noel Williams. I'm very happy with his office. I'm 32 and I have an 11 year little boy that we adopted 5 years ago. I was told I had PCOS and an pre-cervical cancer when I was 15. At the time they didn't know much about either. The cervical cancer was frozen off and I was given BC pills. I had a bad reaction to the BC pills and refused to take them. The Doc told me I would never have a child. In my 15 year old little brian it didn't make a lick of sence to take a BC pill when I couldn't get prego.
Well, I grew up a little and didn't pay any attention to having a period. I mean I never had one on my own - EVER.
I married when I was 19 and still had never had a period. Finally we decided we wanted to have a child so I went to the doc. We tried fertility drugs and insulin meds. I lost 60 pounds and cut sugar out of my diet and no luck.
I remember the day the doctor looked at me and said if you want a child you will have to adopt. You have no other choice.
We did, and have been happy for 5 years with our little family. My son has several behavior problems as would be expected with adopting an older child from DSH. But it is nothing we can't handle.
Once the doc said I couldn't get prego I stoped all drugs. I refused to take anything else. I sure the heck wasn't taking BC pills. It still doesn't make much sense to me. (I know you have to "clean out" but I'm a little stuborn).
Three months ago I had a period- my first ever with out meds!!! I called the doc and I had to go in for a prego test to make sure I hadn't been prego. (rip my heart out, why don't you). It was negative.
Then it happened the next month- Whoa!
And yesterday it happened again....
Three months in a row... Holy COW!!!
Okay before I jump over the moon, I'm wondering if anyone has ever been down this road.
After the second time of this happening I went to the doc and was told I could get prego. Then I requested they run the LH/FSH levels just to see what was going on.
Two weeks later I got a call from the doctor that I still have an elevated LH/FSH level which means that I won't be able to get prego, but they would like me to come in to go over the results.
Well the appointment was tuesday and because of the power being out I missed the appointment. I guess I will reschedule for sometime this week and see what they say.
Has anyone ever heard of PCOS going away? Besides the fact that I have had 3 periods without meds, I have lost 10 pounds without even trying. It is very difficult to lose weight. I mean I have to practically not eat anything for week to lose a half a pound. I lost 10 in a blink of an eye. Also, I have another question. Has anyone had their sodium level checked? I crave salty stuff like a mad women (and I eat it too). But my soidum level is to low? HUH?? I guess they will go over that info when I go back in. But I have never heard of such a thing and I was wondering if it had a connection.
I have to say I'm sorry to anyone that has made it this far in my message. I'm a talker, and a thinker, and sometimes I can type. Sometimes my fingers can't keep up with what is going on in my brian so I'm sorry if I have total lost you with my rambling....
Oh and I would love a support group. I need more people to talk to and bounce ideas off of. I've been to so many doctors and have so many stuipid answers.... Don't get me started....
I will give you some true life answers from local doctors that I refuse to name....but don't refuse to laugh at....
I once had a doc tell me that the reason I wasn't getting prego was because I was allergic to my husbands sperm.....
The reason I had male hair growth on my face is because I'm Middle Eastern...(I'm white as white can be)....
I once had a doc tell me that the reason I wasn't having a period was because "You are just to fat, lose some weight then come back to me."....
