Hi, I need some advice..Im 27 years old and have decided to start trying for a family. To prepare I went to the gyno for blood tests everything was normal with my hormones etc. She said I have PCOS which to be honest I suspected due to sometimes having irregular periods although sometimes the are regular. On my second visit she immediatly reccomended I take Clomid to get pregnant..this is after trying to get pregnant for only two months. I was just curious..is this normal procedure? I live abroad so I would like some advice. Also how safe is this medication?
Thanx

Lou,

if your hormones are within range, how did your doc dx PCOS? Just wondering.

Are you ovulating on your own? If you are, then Clomid is not necessary. Clomid is to induce ovulation. Do you use OPT to detect ovulation? Give us some more info, the ladies will follow with their answers.

Welcome to the boards. You'll find lots of resources here. I hope your stay is short and sweet.

Good luck.
