Did any of you ladies experience daily headaches after giving birth? I've had then daily for the past week or so..... just wondering if this is normal?

I did and my bp was high so they watched me really carefully. I have no protien in the urine after I gave birth though so it was just hbp from having pree before giving birth. You may want to have your bp checked just in case though.

The epidural can also cause a headache (if you had one).

I had very very bad headaches after #2 I ended up in the ER, I thought it was Pre-E kicking in... my blood pressure was very high... We started bp meds. and the thing that I think made a huge diffrence was I started napping whenever I could. The lack of sleep was also causing the headaches.

Even still, i was up most of last night with S and could use a nap and am starting to get a headache. I suggest checking your bp and nap when baby naps..

Also if you had an epidural and it did not heal all the way this too can cause very bad headaches, msil had to go back in for a repair.. from the epidural

Hey B-girl-
Are we in the same boat or what, just hope your labor wasn't as scary as mine!!!!!! Few questions.....
1. did you have an epidural?
2. if you did, does the headache feel like no other headache you have ever had? By that I mean, I didn't feel throbbing, I felt as if my head was being filled with air and going to explode.

If you didn't have an epidural, it is most likely from a lack of sleep or it could be the start of migraines. See on Sunday it will be 2 wks with this pain and I have been through A TON so I will let you know what I did....

I went today to the Birthing center and they did a blood patch (I think they were afraid of me because I registered at the hospital since I refused to leave until something was done! )- talk about instant relief. The only headache I had after that was from my crying from the pain I had been through. My bp is a little elevated but I know it is because I am so frustrated- my family dr took it and it was 180/110 but I was crying and in so much pain. I had to monitor it 2x daily when I was preggo and my family dr said it was normally around 125/80 or so. When she had me lay down and then sit back up about 30 mins later and the pain was there, she immediately said it was epidural and my bp was not a concern to her at the time. my OB actually called down to the birthing center today and asked the nurse to tell me she is sorry since I saw her last week and she didn't think it was from the epidural but apparently it was. My bp today when I was there was 148/80 and the dr believed it was from my crying.
Here is my advise to you.......DEMAND that the ob do something for you. I was given, percocet, vicodin, ibreprofin, and then tylenol 3 and the last 2 helped but didn't make it go away. Here is what the dr told me, IF when you lay down, within 5 mins, you don't feel that pressure but when you get up, almost immediately you have that pressure, it is going to be from your epidural.
I am going to watch my bp too but I think in a day or two it should go back down since I don't have that pressure anymore...
hope this helps you......
Aimee.

Yeah, we are definately in the same boat! My labor was very scary and I don't ever want to go through what i went through again. I will check my BP again, last check it was normal though.

And yes, I did have an epidural and they also had to really up my dosage several times for the C-section since I could feel quite a bit too. My headaches are like none I've ever had before, not much throbbing, but only sometimes does lying down help me. I willl definately persist, as I feel that i've been having this pain for far too long now, and daily headaches are not normal.
