So... just a few things I was wondering...
First of all, how many of you are in high school? Do you miss a lot of school because of PCOS?
How about your weight? Do you lose, gain? I was treated for thyroid before this so my weight is really unstable, but around 104 right now (I'm 5'5).
Haha sorry if these are stupid questions but I have no experiance with this at all... I just want to know whats gunna happen to me!

Hey there
i actually as well have issues with my thyroid, im hypo thyroid but it's not enough of a diffrence for them to do anything for it yet. i havent missed any school because of pcos but it does effect my performance in school, trying to focus, and going through mood swings, there are good days and bad days, good moments and bad moments. but i have learned to just go with the flow of it and try not to stress out and worry.
hope this helps you some!

Lightofmorning,
I haven't missed any school due to symptoms, because mine are mostly cosmetic-related.
By the way, what do all of those things stand for in your signature? I am aware of a few of them (like Scoliosis), but others I'm not sure.

I'm in 1st year of 6th form college in the UK, which I believe is like a junior in US high school system. I've only ever had to miss school if I needed a check up at school/hospital, so I've not missed a lot.
About the weight...I find that it tends not to really change. I go down every now and then, but it's like I just put it back on again. *sigh* I'm not too bothered about it at the moment because I look relatively in proportion - I have quite wide hips, so would look odd if I was like stick thin.

hey, i am a little older and no longer at school, but i have been suffering from horrid periods since the end of year 8, (since i was 14.5 years old). through out all of my schooling from then on i missed at least one if not two days of school each month!!! It was very annoying and did effect my grades at the end of my schooling. Unfortunately although i have been suffering for so long no Doc has ever put it down to PCOS it is only now, 7.5 years after it first started that they are doing the right tests and looking at the possibility of me having PCOS. i understand how frustrating it all is, specially being poked and proded at and then still coming up with nothing. I hope you have the support behind you, and don't be affraid to lean on them on the hard days, they could be your best way through it.

Hi, im due to start my first year of 6th form (UK) in September, i know i have PCOS, but i havent been to my doctors to get the blood test; diagnosis and stuff. i really dont want to face up to it even though ive had the symptoms since i was 11. i have really painful periods so i miss a couple of days of school a month. i think it has been a little damaging, but this year was really important so i tried to grin and bear it. :o By the way, does anyone else suffer from really bad mood swings over the tiniest things, like start crying for no reason?
