The only medication I'm on is Ortho-Evra. Doctor checked me for everything you could possibily think of and "the patch" is all I'm on. Only been on it for two weeks so no period yet. Butttt... I was curious if a side effect to Ortho Evra is no appetite? I have absolutely no appetite it seems. Anybody else on Ortho-Evra and experiencing no appetite?

I see no one responded to your question so I'll chime in. I'm no longer on the patch, but was on it when it first came out until last year. I can't say I noticed a decrease in my appetite. It seems like it did help my PCOS symptoms because after I went off of it my acne showed up and I developed facial hair. Sorry I don't have more of an answer for you!!

My dr took me off the patch b/c there were several severe s/e...I would talk to your dr to make sure you should be on it.

Well, if the doctor prescribed the patch for her, than I assume he thinks she should be on it!

Many medications have warnings and the company has been sued. You just need to listen to your doctor and watch for any side effects and listen to your body.

While I agree with the second half of this sentiment, the first half (listen to your doctor) can mislead some individuals. Not that MOST doctors aren't conscientious, but most doctors only have the prescribing information that the drug companies present. And it IS called "the *practice* of medicine" for a reason. Doctors are not infallible and sometimes they can be unaware of complicating s/e-s with a particular medication.

So do listen to your body--I've had PEs and DVTs from bcps and they are DEADLY. My RE is still amazed I'm alive, and that was nearly 6 years ago! They nearly killed me and are nothing to screw around with. If you feel short of breath (abnormally) or as if you're coming down with bronchitis but have no other symptoms, ask about the possibility of DVTs/PEs, especially if you're on the patch or a strong bcp.

FWIW--I hope this helps someone avoid what I've been through.
