Liz--such an awesome success story! get some rest for sure, you'll probably be going home soon!! cannot wait to hear your birth story although i can't imagine how you'd have time to tell it!!! hehe
question for those of you who are getting cervical checks...this sounds like a dumb question but how does a Dr manually check cervical length? a dilating cervix makes more sense to me because the opening is right there and easy to tell, but how can they tell how long your cervix is without going inside it? i just had mine checked by u/s and i saw the picture of the inside of my cervix and it just made me wonder!!
Jillybn32
08-03-2011, 10:11 AM
Congrats Liz! I was praying for you yesterday! So glad everyone is happy and healthy and you have 3 miracles added to your family :) Post your birth story whenever you can, you will be busy busy.
Praises -Manual cervical length isn't as accurate. That's why t/v u/s is so much better. Plus excessive manual cervical checks is associated with higher risk of infection and PTL. I think I'll personally request all by t/v u/s and a minimal amount manually checked. Here's an article I was reading: http://www.sogc.org/guidelines/public/102E-CPG-May2001.pdf
praises1139
08-03-2011, 11:02 AM
Jill- thanks, I had heard they were not as accurate but I didn't know about the risk of infection...I just heard they don't like to mess with your cervix before they have to. So its just by feeling outside the cervix and therefore not as accurate? I don't know what the article meant by "digital" cervical check. I am completely cool with checking by u/s if my insurance will cover it.

Congrats Liz!!
Praises- yep transvaginal is the way to go. What was your measurement yesterday? After my cerclage when mine was so bad my OB wouldn't even do a tvg ultrasound to check b/c it was too risky. The less anything gets up there the better. I will say though that I went in at 19 weeks 2 days and my cervix was closed and when I had my ultrasound at 19 weeks 6 days I was down to 9mm of length and was dilating. That's how fast it can happen.

jlb--on Monday it was 4.2. he pushed down on my belly/uterus (not very comfortable feeling!) to see if that would change anything and it went down to 4.0. so he said at this point in the pregnancy, that is what he would expect for twins and i need to stay above 3.0. he's not going to check every two weeks yet since it's a 4, but i'll go back in 4 wks for another check and we'll see if it has changed. i'm trying to stay at work at least two more months, during which my regular OB won't even be checking my cervix yet, but the peri said he'll keep checking me. we don't know how long mine has been at 4.2 since that was my first check but for now i'm relieved.

Liz- Congrats!! I'm SO excited for you and your family!! I checked in a few times yesterday to see if you updated, and I was excited to see the good news today. How wonderful that all three precious babies are doing so well.
Praises- jlbroyles is right- things can change quickly with your cervix, so just make sure your dr is on top of it. I was fine at my 18w appointment, then went down each week until I was at 14mm by 24w and had a cerclage placed. I had tvg u/s weekly for several weeks after my cerclage because my high-risk OB knew I needed them to feel better, and he felt more comfortable knowing what was going on, and then we went down to every other week after 28 weeks and stopped at 32 weeks. My regular OB would do a digital exam every single week just to make sure my cervix was still closed, but she never guessed at the length since that's not too accurate. I knew there was a possibility of infection being checked so often and that it could "disturb" things down there, but my OB felt it was necessary, and I always felt more comfortable knowing my cervix was closed each week. Thankfully, everything stayed closed, and I had my cerclage taken out a week ago with no issues. Hopefully you won't have any cervical issues, but I know we've all seen some of the twin losses women on this board have experienced because of these problems, so at least we're knowledgeable and on top of our care because of it.

"digital"--lol, I just got it!!!! it's referring to fingers, that's why it means manual. Ok now I just sound dense.
Yeah I feel a little uneasy about waiting another 4 wks to get checked but he said if I feel or see anything strange at all, just let him know. I decided not to go camping because he said I should only go somewhere that I wouldn't mind being stuck at if I had to go on bed rest and a place that has good medical care. I don't know anything about the hospitals by the campsite and its in VA away from family. But so far our trip to GA is ok because my parents are there and they have great hospitals (although probably out of network for our insurance!!!) We will only be there Labor day wknd. I'm just going to pray really hard that nothing happens because I really need to see my grandma.

She is going to stalk you again tomorrow since she didnt get to see the babies today...so be ready, lol. And she is bringing pics of my DD to show your family, haha. She said your family is so proud and the bows cover the entire door and they already had a ton of pics printed off. Having a supportive family is such a blessing. She also said you are beautiful and look great....and she has a crush on Brock :) said he had the prettiest smile she has ever seen! So jealous that she got to meet you! Congrats again!

Kdavis - Did your doc recommend weekly checks from 18-24 weeks? My doc is only recommending checking every 2-3 weeks even though I've had a leep in the past, and I am thinking of pushing him for checks every 1-2 weeks. Don't want to seem to pushy but I really want to be proactive.
Praises - I would ask your doc to go in sooner if anything is happening, or if you are just uneasy or have a weird feeling and don't want to wait 4 weeks. Hope you make it through smoothly though!

Jilly- Well, things looked fine at 18 weeks, and he scheduled me to come back 3 weeks later for another routine ultrasound. At that point, my cervix was at 26mm, which is just within the normal range, so then he had me come weekly from that point on. With your prior leep procedure, I would definitely push for checking more often (and your doctor should certainly understand why you feel strongly about that). I've seen lots of people on different boards whose shortened cervix was caused by a leep, and of course you're so much better off catching it early. Also, in my experience, if you see that your cervix is starting to shorten at all, make sure you go in and have it checked every single week to see if it gets short enough to warrant a cerclage (less than 15mm).
jlbroyles
08-04-2011, 08:55 PM
Jilly- I know I probably sound like a broken record but I would push for every 1-2 weeks. From weeks 15-20 I always just felt like something was off so if you feel that way definitely get checked out too.

Hiya ladies! Well time's almost up! I'm only about 5weeks away from my due date! (IF) I don't have her early that is..even doc hinted around that I may have her early, which is perfectly fineeeee with me! I'm SO ready for this pregnancy to be over! I've been so damn miserable, in pain and so *****y lately. I keep tweaking over the littlest things, I've been so *****y lately I can't even stand myself, god only knows how DH must feel!
Anyways.. things with the pregnancy have been going alright. Starting to get nausea again off and on..I've been going to the docs twice a week that started this week. I guess because of the gestational diabetes I guess they consider it "high risk" so they need to monitor me. I go every Monday and Thursdays up until I deliver and ultrasounds every thursday as well. Except I had an ultrasound yesterday.Went pretty good. It was for the growth/weight so I'm anxious to see the results from the doc on Monday.
I've been getting more and more pressure (she's been head down for over a month now!) and when I walk or sit for more than a few mins at a time the pressure is SO much I litterally feel like she's going to just "fall" out haha. I've also been getting contractions quite a bit, and pains, I guess more like crampy pains. I thought Wednesday night I was gonig to go to the hospital because the contractions were so bad, intense and close together, but stupid me didnt even think about timing them or anything. When I told the doc yesterday he told me from now on if I get at least 7-8 contractions and hour to come in. Oh and at every app they also hook me to the fetal monitor and her heartrate's seem to be great :)
Well.. just thought I'm summerize what's been gonig on lately since it's been a little bit since I've been on.
How is everyone else doing? Anyone else ready to pop out their baby besides me!!!!!

Dawn - I know exactly what you are talking about! My temper is short with Bean because I am uncomfortable and I am soooo tired in the afternoon! I feel so bad about it but I can't stop it either. I have 9 weeks until I have her unless I start having any problems. I am so ready to get it over with and get her here! I was never uncomfortable like this with Bean. I hurt in my stomach, between my legs, in my back, my hip and just feel crappy! Hopefully you only have about 4 weeks left! They monitored me from 32 weeks with Bean cause of gestational diabeties. I have been able to keep it under control with Kailyn so this pregnancy has been so much diffrerent than my first. Bean was born at 37 weeks 5 days and weighed 7lbs 14 oz. I would have hated to see if I would have carried him another 2 weeks! lol!

Thank you Kdavis and Jbroyles. I wish I could take you with me to my doctor! I hate trying to 'convince' them of something, you know. If I had you two we could all go as an army and then he would have to do it, haha.
Good luck to all of you nearing delivery. I'm excited for you and following your stories!

Welcome Megzy and Shan!
Land-congrats! So glad everything went well for you! can't wait to hear your story but take your time obviously! I'm sure there is a lot of adjusting to do and just getting used to the new swing of things times 3!!
dawn-Sorry You're so miserable...I have my days but thankfully most of this pregnancy has been a pretty easy ride....I have had my complaints but nothing major. I'm only a few days behind you, My baby has been head down for a few weeks too and I deff know what you mean about the pressure. It seems my hips and pelvis bone are constantly aching now...and then I also work at a desk job and sitting on my butt all day is not comfortable.
Well I'm getting really excited now! Finally feel like I'm getting things done! DH was awesome and cleaned the entire baby's room last week (Since before it was our "junk" room) and got it all prepped for painting. Today me and my mom and MIL painted the room and it looks great! now I just feel like we have a bunch of little things left to do which will be easy-peasy. The painting and cleaning of the room was stressing me out the most. Now we can start setting up furniture and putting the room together :D

Just remember that you're advocating for your babies and you're the only one that can, that's what got me through it.

So just curious.. for some odd reason I never even though about my PCOS durring pregnancy until well.. now.. so now I'm finding myself googling about it and I can't seem to shake it off. Have any of you ladies experienced any issues/problems/complications due to PCOS? And is there any risks or concerns out there.. esp this late into pregnancy? And is it true it can cause pre-term labor? I already have gestational that i found out a few weeks or so ago okay a month ago maybe.. but otherwise things are going good. I'm eager for my app this afternoon because I had my ultrasound Friday for her growth/weight and measurements.. so I'm eager to know all the results! Praying everything is normal and okay!
However I must confess.. i'm SOOOOO ready for pregnancy to be over and for her to arrive! I'm scared ****less about delivery, but.. the ending of pregnancy stinks! I'd take the sickness from first tri ALL over again and 10x worse than what I go through now with all the aches, pains, contractions, mood swings.. ughh it's awful.
I've also noticed lately I've been getting sharp pains in my vagina, like i'm being stabbed or something.. I heard that's an early labor sign, is that true? I know last Monday doc checked to see if I was dialated and I wasn't however she did say my cervix was short.. so.. does that mean i'm thinning? or close to dialation? Dunno if she's gonna check again today we'll see!
jamiec0326

So just got back from my doc app and everything looks great :) She said development wise I'm at 65th percentile ??? I asked her about it and she "tried" to explain but I still don't understand what that REALLY means.. what does it mean? She said that it's good, not too much ahead and not far behind. She explained it as "out of 10 ppl it's number 6" I was like "huh"? Then she explained it as " baby won't be too big/tall nor too small/short? I still don't really get it.. so what in the world does 65th percentile mean at 34.5 (i say 35) weeks?????
As for her organs, she said everything seems great and little one weighs 5lbs 10oz :)
So... you ladies with experience on the whole "development and percentage thing" can you tell me.. what it really means to be 65th percentile? As I just really couldn't understand what the doc meant...
rachelttc
08-08-2011, 03:52 PM
dawn: Percentiles are like percents. Let's say you had 100 babies, and put them in order from smallest to largest. The babies at the front end would be too small, and the babies at the back end would be too big. But the babies in the middle would be normal-sized. Your baby would be 65th in the list, so pretty near the middle, and only a tiny bit on the big side.
A 99th percentile baby might weigh 11 pounds at birth. A 5th percentile baby might only weigh 2 pounds. A 50th percentile baby would be exactly average, or around 7 pounds. So if you make it to 40 weeks, your baby would probably be somewhere around 8 pounds.
dawndalebout
08-08-2011, 03:57 PM
Okay.. I get it now.. wellgeesh I just hope she doesn't get too big lol.. 8lbs is big hope she don't get TOO much bigger than that haha... but that's good to know she's in the pretty average catagory.. that is if she doesn't grow too fast! They are monitoring everything because of the whole gestational diabetes.. so I go to docs twice a week and get an ultrasound once a week.. so I guess we'll see on Thursday how she looks :)

First congratulations to all the new moms...I hope everything went great for all of you and your babies are thriving!
It sounds like everyone is doing well. I caught up on the last couple of pages and many of us are in the home stretch.
I have an amnio planned in 3 weeks at 36 weeks and if mature I'll be induced. Last week my NST was OK not great. I was contracting every 4-6 minutes. I don't need the monitor to tell me that though :) They wanted to send me for monitoring but I absolutely hate the hospital and I wormed my way out of that one. I didn't feel like the contractions were getting stronger. The u/s was good and I believe his BPP score was 8/10. He is little though. He weighed in at 3lb 9oz. The perinatologist said he's a little one but they will keep good track of him and they even did a cord flow study and it was very good. He said some babies are smaller and some bigger. My husband and I are not big people at all so he said they would not be expecting a "tank":) They said they would not be suprised if I go into labor anytime. I know it's premature but they are okay with that because of my health conditions.
I guess many of us are in the "holding pattern" as my peri calls it.
Take care and I'm going to try and get caught up on some of the older posts.

dawn- lurking over here, but saw your question about percentiles. I had small preemies and becoming obsessed with growth charts comes with the territory. Anyway, if your baby is in the 65th percentile that means that out of 100 babies, she is bigger than 65 of them and smaller than 45 of them. At least that's how our pediatrician explained it to me. We were also told that percentiles don't matter as much as following a growth curve. I was never given a percentile by my peri, just estimated weights and the fact that they were still growing. But once your little one is born you'll be hearing lots about percentiles:)

08-08-2011, 06:35 PM
I just wanted to chime in with u/s's and the baby's weight. Mine was WAY off. They kept saying Cora was going to be huge and was measuring big on u/s's but came out 7lbs!! My dr also scared me saying it might be hard pushing her out since she was measuring big. She came out in 5 pushes!
And their measurements aren't very accurate later in pregnancy. They estimated Owen to be around 8lbs. Um, yeah...5 lbs 10 oz. Nice try
And on percentiles....it really doesn't mean anything in terms of development. Both of my kids have been at the bottom of the charts (5th percent and below) since birth (both full term babies). They are perfectly healthy & normally developing (and cute :D )
jamiec0326

I wouldn't put alot of stock in the precentile thing right now. As long as their growth curve is good once they get here, no worries.

So I need a bit of support today :( I had my 34 week appt and I'm now on pre-eclampsia watch....my blood pressure was higher than normal (140/80, usually I'm always 120/60) and I had more protein in my urine. So I had to get my blood drawn and I have to collect my urine for 24 hours to take in to be tested. pretty gross./.I have this gigantic jug I have to lug around and pour my pee in...and it has to be refrigerated...So I get to take it to work for me, thankfully we have an extra fridge at work that doesn't get used so they said I could use that...since I really dont want to put it in with everyone's food. (and I'm sure they would appreciate that too;))
I'm supposed to be taking it easy too...Not on bed rest yet thankfully until we see exactly what the results are...but I hate feeling lazy and useless. And so now I just get to sit and worry until we figure out...but either way I've been switched from appointments every 2 weeks, to appointments every week just so they can keep a closer eye on me...which i am grateful for but I'm still scared. They kept trying to re-assure me that I may not have it but they are just making sure but if I do I need to be prepared for this and that and the other....all of which just makes me worry more...and I already have a tendency to worry :( I had a neighbor who lost her baby at 8 months and almost her life last year to pre-eclampsia/HELLP so i know how scary it can be....
Is there any of you who have dealt with this who can maybe offer a bit of reassurance? I don't have any family members who have had it and I only know of that one neighbor and things didnt turn out so well for her...I just don't want to keep stressing myself out since that isn't good for my blood pressure

Alwilki - I myself have not had it but I have known several people close to me that have and all of their babies were fine. One was delivered at like 35-36 weeks but the others were all delivered at 37 weeks and they did fine. Try and not worry to much until the final diagonsis and at feel better that the dr is keeping a close eye on it! Keep us all updated!

Alwiki - I had pre-e with both my pregnancies. Both of my pregnancies were super easy....no morning sickness, nothing. With ds, I was completely fine and then all of a sudden at 36wk1dy, my bp skyrocketed and they found protein in my urine. I also did the 24 hr collection. I was put on bedrest and induced at exactly 37 weeks. My bp had gone up to 150 something. With dd, they found protein in my urine at 32weeks, but my bp was completely fine so they just monitored me each week. Protein stabilized for a couple weeks (didn't go higher) and bp still was lingering in the 130's. At 36weeks 6days, protein had gone up as well as bp, so I was induced the next day (also exactly 37weeks).
I think the drs. are really good at keeping an eye on you once they see signs. They want your uring to be under "300" so I think if yours comes back around that number or lower, they will just monitor you and your bp weekly. If it comes back high, but your bp lingers, they might put you on bedrest. My drs always told me that they will do whatever they can to keep both under control till at least 36 weeks and after that they would induce. If I was at risk any sooner, then they would have to deliver.
Good Luck! Keep in mind that you are already 34 weeks which is fantastic! Some women have signs of pre-e as early as 24 weeks.

Thanks for the replies everyone,
ladybug-did they say you had pre-e as soon as your bp went up and they found protien in your urine? or did they wait till further testing to decide? I got my results from the b/w and thankfully it was "normal" still working on the urine sample but they said just because the b/w was normal doesnt mean i'm fine...I could still have it/still get it...I don't have to have all the symptoms to have it. but since I had one time where it wasn't normal, am I going to be classified as having pre-e or just that they need to keep a closer eye on me? I will have another appt next week to follow up and double check things again...Thanks for your help
Debra- hope your baby decides to make it's entrance soon! good luck when it does!

Ali- With ds, they immediately said pre-e because I had never shown protein in my urine and my bp was always under 120. The appt at 36wks1dy, my bp was in the 150's and my urine was a +3 (that's how they number on the reg ob appt ones). So they said it is definitely pre-e AND I was ridiculously swollen. Oh totally forgot, another HUGE sign...from my appt the week before til that appt, I gained 13 pounds!!!! The first 35 weeks I had gained 21 total. With dd, my urine was a +1 at 32 weeks. They said "I was showing signs of pre-e" and new to watch me because I had already had it previously. My protein stayed that way for about 2 more weeks, and then it was a +2. That's when they made me collect the 24hr. That came back at 400 something, so they told me I now had to come in twice a week for bp checks and an NST. My bp stayed in the 130's. Then at 36wk 6 days I collected a 24 hr urine again and the number was in over 900 and my bp was playing in the 130's and 140's, so they said I would be induced. Hope that helps.

Alyse- I had preeclampsia with my oldest. Started showing signs at 33 weeks and had to be induced at 37 weeks. For me it was a gradual thing. My BP and protein in my urine kept going up week after week. I was having NSTs from 30 weeks on due to GD and preterm labor and at 37 weeks my bp was high enough and the protein in my urine was up enough that when they checked my daughter's lungs with amniocentesis and it showed they were mature, I was induced. She was great and 7 lbs when she was born. I was put on bp meds and monitored very closely. The last three weeks I had to go to my doctor's office daily for BP checks. The only day I didn't was when they were closed on Sunday so I would go and test it somewhere. I had at least one appointment a day to make sure I was ok and otherwise I was on strict bedrest. By doing that I was able to make it to 37 weeks because the meds and bedrest helped keep my bp ok. Sometimes even that doesn't do it though.
Watch out for extreme swelling, severe headaches and seeing spots and go into your OB or L&D. What hospital are you delivering at?
Let me know if you want to talk. I am nearby so if you need anything let me know!

thanks ladies, I turn my 24hr urine sample today so I will probably get the results back soon and keep you posted. And thanks for the encouraging words. I kind of had a big freak out the day they told me and was really worried but after talking with you and some other people and nurses, I know that I and my baby will be fine since they will keep a close eye on us. I just freaked out a bit since this is my first and I've never done this before and so I tend to over-worry about everything....but I've calmed down a lot since then. Whatever happens, I know that I will be taken care of :)
esarah-I want to deliver at Orem Community hospital but depending on how things go I may have to go to UVRMC but thats not a big deal. I am with the new beginnings midwife clinic but only as long as I'm not considered "high risk" other wise they will transfer my care to an OB.

Alwilki - Definately let us know when you get the results back! Glad you are relaxing some.
afm - I just noticed that my ticker has moved another block only one left! I can not believe it! I am so ready to meet this little one. Had a pretty good braxton hicks contraction last night. Not painful just strong enough to stop my in my tracks. lol I never had them with Bean so this has been new for me.

Alyse- I am glad you are feeling better about things. 34 weeks is a great place to be if things did go downhill but hopefully things will hold steady for another 2-3 weeks. I wanted to go to the New Beginnings Midwife Clinic but I have always been too high risk for them. I was lucky to be able to see my family practice doctor for three of my four and then had really good OBs (didn't love their receptionists but the OBS were great) for my last. Hoping that you are able to stick with the Midwives. I have known lots of people who really love the midwives there. :)

hey all.
Finally get to come over here. Yay for 3rd trimester.
aliwilki - Sorry about the pre-e scare...I hope things turn out ok.
Shan - I hope you pass the 3 hour. I have seen a lot of people who have failed the 1 hour test come through and pass the 3 hour with flying colours...I hope your one of them :)
I have another week until my next appointment which i should be getting booked in for my glucose test. Unfortunately DH will be in Thailand so wont be able to go to that one.

Shan - I hope you pass the 3 hour. I am jealous! I tried to get my OB to schedule my csection date and he just told me it would be in the 39th week. lol
Megzy - Glad you have made it over here!
afm - Sorry for the complaining. lol! Already so uncomfortable! Hurts to walk. Having some strong bh contractions. Not frequently or anything. Having terrible headaches. Just ready to get it over with. lol! 7 more weeks! lol! Go back to the dr tomorrow. So ready to see Kailyn again and see what she is weighing.

Shan - Yay for similar names. I like Sophia as well but DH preffered Sophie more. As soon as I seen the name i fell in love with it...Glad DH likes it as well.
jamie - Thanks. Sorry your uncomfortable. I hope the next 7 weeks pass quickly for you. Can't wait for all our babies to be here.
AFM - Get to spend the next 2.5 weeks with just the dog and myself since DH is going to Thailand. Hopefully can get some stuff sorted out while he's away...And get my bags packed. Have babies bag packed just need to do my own.
Anybody else get sharp stabbing pains through their vaginal region at random times? I have had this a few times each time catching me off guard. Could this be ligament pain or something completely different?

Kailyn weighs 4lbs 5oz today! She measured right on schedule. I go back in 2 weeks. He said we would do the csection a week before her due date. So 7 weeks and counting! Can't believe it is getting so close!!!

Jamie--at least u know the week :) so u can let the countdown begin!
Megzy--I haven't had those pains with this pregnancy yet, but I do remember them with my last. I thought it was just ligament pain.
Afm--failed my three hour :( So I have to go to a class on tuesday and diet, and start testing b/s.....fun.....fun , it seems soooo wrong to have to diet during pregnancy....lol. But I will do what I have to have a healthy baby :)

Hey ladies! I have been MIA and apologize! Hope everyone has been great and having a healthy and happy pregnancy!
I'm almost 35 weeks (i can't believe it!) I quit vomiting at about 28 weeks. Those were the longest 28 weeks of my life!! My doctor is checking me at my next appointment! I'm getting excited and nervous!
We are all almost there! It seems like it's been forever!
Take care ladies!

shan - Sorry you failed the 3 hour. I have my test booked in on tuesday.
blaine - yay for ms going away. I hope it stays away for the rest of the pregnancy.
I hope everyone else is going well.
AFM - Anybody ever heard of a 2 hour GTT? They don't do the 1 hour ones here anymore apparently and are doing a 2 hour one. Anyway im booked in for tuesday so fingers crossed i pass.
Every thing else is still going well. LO has been active today and didn't like the doppler much...She kept kicking and moving. Then she was kicking more when they were finding how high my uterus is.
Measuring 29.5cm on the fundal height. Thats been measuring a week ahead since they started measuring it.

Megzy - I havent heard of them doing a 2 hour but I have never had to have it done cause I have had gd with both from early on. Hope you pass it! Neither of my kids like anything on my stomach. When they put the monitor on both of them have stayed constantly on the move away from it. Not looking forward to having to keep up with Kailyn on our weekly visits while they monitor her. When I was in l&d for spotting my hand was cramped from having to press down on it the whole time we were there to keep her monitored! lol

So I had my 2nd doc app yesterday (get 2 week, along with weekly ultrasound and NST due to gestational diabetes) and I have about a little over 3 weeks left to my due date.. However.. 2 weeks ago when I had a growth ultrasound the baby was "guessed" at 5lbs 10oz.. and she was at 65percentile.. so a tad above average I suppose.. because of that the doc told me yesterday (I've now seen a total of FOUR different docs!) First off I see my primary OB usualy on Mondays.. and then Thursdays I see either another OB.. or a midwife depending on who's busy and such.. well yesterday I ended up seeing an OB doc that I've never seen before. (I kinda liked her, the one I'm not fond of is the mid-wife th ough) well.. I keep getting all different things said to me here.. My regular OB doesn't say too much as she's been very busy delivering lately.. The other OB (man) that I see he thinks I'm going to have her early and when he set up my "two weekly apps and weekly ultrasound he stopped setting up apps after 38-39 weeks) he said because how everything was going he said he didn't think I'd make it 39weeks or my due date.. THEN the mid-wife (that I see sometimes if everyone else is busy, but Im not very fond of her at all, - long story) she told me that she wouldn't let me go past 2 days of my due date (sept 14th) so by the latest I would be induced and deliver on the 16th.. hmm.....
Well then yesterday I seen this OB doc (woman) who was very nice, i liked her attitude too, and her questions and concerns.. well.. she came in and seen me while I was on the monitor (NST) and I was having some contracitons (like always) and she told me that I'll probably deliver within 2 weeks.. but yet she couldn't see me going back 39 weeks.. esp sicne the baby's weight/percentile and with me having GD... so.. I'm confused...
I'm confused about unless I go into labor naturally which hopefully I do, but if I dont.. when are they going to induce me if they do? Which doctor is going to deliver me??? ( I PRAY it's not that mid-wife).. I just keep hearing all different things, yes they all seem "around about" but still.. very confused.....
Have any of you ladies gone through this??
As for how I've been feeling lately.. well.. more miserable than ever.. so much pain and pressure on my hips and pelvis.. (baby's been head-down position for over a month! so she's ready!).. and contractions have been starting to kick in more frequent.. Otherwise things are okay, and I'm just ready for her to pop out!

dawn - My OB is the only one in his office so I don't know what you are dealing with there but I would talk to my regular OB next week about my concerns. That would keep me confused and I would be upset. I had Bean at 37 weeks 5 days by induction because he was measuring so much bigger. He was born 7lbs 14oz and spent a week in the NICU because his lungs weren't developed enough.

Well I don't have time for a full story right now but I'll try to do one when I can....
Long story short, I did have pre-e, my b/p kept shooting up and I had to be induced. Rex Warren was born Monday at 11:31pm and weighed 4lbs 1oz. At first he was fine, but then started having probs, they had to do a spinal tap, they found he had a brain bleed, he was having seziures and the first 3 days were really scary. Thankfully now he has made a complete turn around and is doing so much better. He is still in the NICU and will be for a while longer, not sure how much longer though. I'm still on Bed rest since my b/p is high and also taking meds for it. But everything is so much better now.
I will try to get on and post the full story when I can but we are at the hospital as much as we can being with Rex :)

I need some advice ladies.. this might be a tad TMI but ..All day I've had this really weird feeling.. this might be TMI but I'm very curious.. I've had discharge for over a week now, nothing major, nor is it thick.. However for the past several hours it's starting to feel really awkward.. I keep wiping myself thinking I have a "chunk" or mucus plug (this is my first pregnancy so I'm clueless) but when I wipe there's nothing.. However it feels really weird down there.... almost like.. when you're on your period and you have that gushy feeling like your passing a clot.. i know gross but.. that's how it feels.. but yet nothing's comming out..... what could it be??

dawn - not sure about that. i would def call your dr. or nurse line and see what they think. as for the OB concerns, I would say whenever you call to make an appt, ask to be seen by the one you like, or when you're talking to them, be sure to tell them what any of the other doctors have said. i don't know how you do it. that would bother me to be seen by so many doctors.
jamie - not too much longer now!!! love seeing your updated bump pictures! =)

No I haven't talked to the doc yet.. I go in for my app at 3 this afternoon.. so I'm going to try to figure out what's going on then. At least, try to figure out what's going on.. as it seems all the diff docs have all different theories, except for 2 out of 4. But today I go see my primary OB.. who hasn't said much lately, so I guess we'll see what she says today.

So just got back from the doctors app. (and I must add I was NOT impressed with the wait today and neither was hubby. My app was at 3 and we waited for almost 45mins! That's the LONGEST we've gone in late ughh)
But anyways.. I did talk to her about all our concerns (hubby went with again this time) and we talked about what all the other docs had mentioned about the whole " if i dont have her within 2 weeks then induce theory". Well ,she said it's controversal. Since I'm 37 weeks (well 2 days away from it I guess) 2 weeks would make me 39 weeks. She said depending on how things go and how the baby is. Which, baby and things have been going pretty good. That depending on how the baby and me do, it all depends on what happens. She said she'd like to wait to induce or anything and try to keep the baby in (unless I go into labor naturally ;) ) until 39 weeks. Which, I didnt even think about, is right for 2 more weeks. As for inducing, she said it's controversal between all different docs and people. SHE says "her opinon" that she'd like to not do anything medically until 39 weeks unless something comes up with the baby or me and it's a better choice to induce before the 39 weeks. Then, once at the 39 weeks depending on how things go I can either A- wait and try go into labor naturally, but not go past 40-41 weeks. Or B- I can be induced. She said the whole gestational diabetes, the baby's size/growth/position and how I'm doing all comes into play before they actually induce. SO.. I guess I'm still safe for 2 more weeks. That is, unless I go into labor naturally. (which I sort of hope I do, I'm so miserable of pregnancy and I'm just SO ready!)
As for other things, they're going pretty well. I've had VERY good blood pressure the whole pregnancy. As for my gestational diabetes wise, my sugar's hasve been getting a tad higher. Not high not like 200's or anything but higher than they have been. Esp durring the day/evening.My fastings are always good. Sometimes on the low side, but otherwise good. However she did up my Glyburide back to 5mg instead of 2.5. But instead of taking it twice a day like when I first started, take it all in morning.that way I don't go into low sugar's in the middle of the night again.
Then, she checked for dialation and I'm now effaced and dialated about 1-1.5cm! woohoo! :) I know it's not much and I've heard some ladies can go further and nothing happen, but hey at least it's a start!
So all in all things are going pretty good, and it was good to "clear up" some of the confusion as all diff docs have been saying diff things. But by the sounds of it at least they're all pretty much on the same page :) what a relief! So, hopefully soon our baby girl will be here! (please be sooner rather than later! hehe)

Megzy or anyone in Australia--what are "dummies"? i read it in a book about twins that they are essential babies items. i'm guessing "dummies" means something different there than it does here but i can't figure it out and not even Google helped!..lol. now the nappies i know are diapers...haha

I've been having contractions, and alot of pressure for a while now. I'm 37 weeks. Our baby girl has been head-down low position for over a month and half now. Well today has been by far the most painfull that I've experienced yet! (this is my first). All I did was go out today run errands, pay bills and go grocery shopping. Maybe I pushed myself? I dont know.. but the pain and pressure I just wanted to cry..
I'd have the say the worst part was just walking around the grocery store just to get what we needed. It was so hard for me to just walk around. And the pressure and pain I was having I wanted to cry. While at the check out all I could do was lean over the counter and hold my breath. I could barely even walk out to the car and I wasn't even parked that far away, I must have stopped because of the pain about 5 times. When I finally sat down in the car I litterally cried. I know it's nothing compared to the pain of birth (I'm assuming lol) but wow, so much pain. When I got home I relaxed on the couch, the pain eased a bit. But everytime I get up (to go to bathroom, load washer/dryer and just finished up dishes) the pain came back again and made me cry again.
I go to the doctors tomorrow for my 2nd weekly app (NST, ultrasond and doc bops in and out to check in as I have GD). If the pain continues should I go in to hospital tonight, or just wait until tomorrow???????? Anyone else experiencing this???

Dawn- I have felt your pain. The end is the roughest. If you have any doubts you should probably go in. Having baby head down and in your pelvis and walking around will cause pressure and pain though. It's horrible though and since you don't know what to expect I might go in. Pain is definitely normal at the end. For me it got worse with each pregnancy and earlier also (I have had 4 babies at 37, 33, 31 and almost 34 weeks gestation). Good thing is, if baby comes at 37 weeks, they very often do very well, especially if they are coming on their own. If you feel like something is not right though and it's not the normal pregnancy aches and pains that come with the end of pregnancy, go in. I would go in since I was always at risk of preterm labor and sometimes I would be sent home but when I was in horrible pain they would offer me a shot of morphine before I went home and I have taken it some of the times they offered it and at least I was able to sleep well and have a break from the pain for several hours.

UPDATE!- went to L&D last night because of all the pain and contractions.. sure enough they were sure contractions.. nurses checked me I was at 3CM.. monday I was at 1. They said it's " early labor" but I won't be considered active until I hit 4cm.. they were going to keep me to monitor me, but I had a doc app with NST and ultrasound today anyways, so they finally let me go. But since my contractions were pretty consistant (some just a few mins apart) they said if it continues to be around 5mins apart to come back in! Boy was I scared, nervous as this is my first! All I kept thinking was.. O M G time is comming!!!!!!!!!

well ladies, I get to officially join you today! So excited to have made it this far!
Since I've started back to school and been on my feet more, I've had a lot more back pain, sciatic pain, cramping, and occasionally, spotting. Really hoping that the spotting isn't related to the placenta previa that they are due to check via u/s next week. still dont have my glucose test results, hoping to get that at my appt next week. ugh. so tired and i still have a decent amt of time to go!!

I'm happy to be in the 3rd trimester, though some websites say it doesn't start until the 28th week. Anyway, a little introduction to those that may not have ready any of my posts. My husband is currently deployed in Afghanistan and will be back sometime next summer. He has been gone for a little over 2 months. I have hired a doula and overall things have been going well. Oh, we are also having a boy, as long as the tech was right. The picture he gave me sure makes me question if he is right.
Alright, now my apology in advance. As most of you know, I'm usually in very good spirits about everything, I take pride in how I am able to usually stay positive. For some reason, I am seriously down in the dumps today. I feel depressed. I have analyzed the situation and I think it boils down to this hurricane. Normal day to day things I excel and prove to myself over and over that I am very capable on my own. I think because I have a horrible past with power going out, it has made me terrified of it happening again, even though I know power being out can't hurt me. It's just that moment that I want my husband with me. I miss him. I don't have a whole lot else to write about, just feeling crappy. I think I'll go work on that schoolwork that needs to be done, because who knows how long the power will still be on. Then also maybe I can get my mind off things. Blah! At least my little boy is kicking me. A positive thing. Yesterday I felt him just moving around a little. I put my hand where I felt him move and I could actually feel something, like a body part! I usually feel hardness or I can tell where he is, but never a body part. Now, I have no idea what body part it was, but I felt it move and then come back, and then it bounced back at me, it was seriously the coolest. I just want to finish school now so I can sit around and feel my stomach. I also have a terrible craving for some coke, and I have some in the refrigerator, but I wanted to save it for when I really really wanted it. My back also hurts on a daily basis. It's not lower back like by my hips, it's maybe 6 inches higher than my hips. I've been trying to research if the maternity support belt would help with that kind of pain, but I can only find information on it helping lower back pain. Anyway, better go work on that school! Thanks for your ear everyone. I'm sure I'll feel better later or tomorrow, these depression spells never last long.

Tiffany - Glad you are over here! Sorry you are having a downer day. I have them too and they are becoming a little more regular the more uncomfortable I feel. Hope you don't lose power! Will be thinking of you thru all of this.

Thank you so much Jamie.
Alright, I'm a strange one. It's the weird things that can change my mood, I blame it on pregnancy. For some reason I was just checking out my nipples(only to this board would I admit such a thing) and for the 1st time I noticed if I squeeze them a little a clear liquid sort of comes out. Why this makes me excited, I have no idea? I think I feel it is a good sign about breastfeeding once the little one comes. I just didn't see myself as a leaker before the baby came. Alright, back to schoolwork. Also, I'll take whatever I can if it makes my mood better!

Hey Tiffany - Welcome to the 3rd Tri. I have found sitting with my feet up and a pillow behind my back helps with the pain. I get it up higher sometimes but I found this helps when I do. Oh and i'm glad im not the only one who squeezes my nipples. I wonder if doing that helps with colostrum/milk production this early. I know some days i leak more than others so who knows.
To all those in the path of Irene, I hope you all have somewhere safe to be and I will be thinking of you all.
AFM - Don't really like to brag but its nice and sunny here today (Unlike yesterday when it was just wet and cold), so I can go out and get my vegetable seeds planted so hopefully in a couple of weeks we have some nice seedlings to put in the vegetable garden. Mmmmmmm nice veggies for Christmas with any luck.

I love that we can all admit to the crazy things we do on here. I also check out my nipples every now and then. I'm so paranoid about not being able to breastfeed that I compulsively check them - weird, I know. Since I've had some crusty stuff on them in the past I was wiping them off, and I guess I was squeezing them, and I also had a clear-ish fluid come out. (you're not weird Tiff, made me happy too, since I'm so paranoid).
Megzy - glad your weather is better today! I forget you're in Australia half the time.
Tiff - sorry you had an off day. I have them more frequently that I'm back to work. I sat at my desk and cried the other day because I didn't want to be there, and my back, sciatic area, and legs were hurting so badly. Not sure how I'm going to make it three more months.
Jamie - love seeing your weekly photos in the show your bump board! can't believe your little one will be here so soon!! how are things going with you?
afm - my legs, back, etc. have really been bothering me the past few days. So badly that I've actually debated taking the tylenol that I bought as a precaution. But since I've managed to make it this far without taking, I would really like to try to go the whole pregnancy without it. We went out to dinner tonight with some other teachers from school, and were sitting on bar stools (uncomfort # 1), then the longer we sat there, I could feel my feet and legs swell (uncomfort # 2)!!! My calves now hurt so much worse than I ever thought was possible. They feel swollen, kinda itchy, and super tight. I've tried stretching them out, eating bananas & cantaloupe, and Tums. No luck fixing it yet. I'm laying on the couch with them elevated now hoping that helps. UGH!

Megzy - That just sounds so funny talking about fresh veggies for Christmas. Our gardens over here have about played out for the year. Other than winter stuff that will be planted soon.
Lauren - Thanks! I can't believe it is getting so close either. It has went by so fast! I am doing ok. Just having a lot of pain down there. It hurts to sit up, it hurts to move my legs, I almost called into work today it hurt so bad, but I thought it is not going to get any better over the next few weeks so I came on in. Go back to the dr Tuesday.

Welcome to the third tri Tiff!!
Been watching the news, I hope everyone stays safe on the east coast.
Been having all the hip pain too. I get restless legs too if I get too tired. Sometimes if I get up and walk around it helps. Nothing really helps the hip pain......just part of the stretching process. I have been doing pretty well keeping my b/s under control, it was only high once :) Feeling pretty good about that!

I broke down and ordered a maternity support belt today. My back pain(about 6 inches above the hips) has become annoying, painful, and frankly is making me crabby and wanting to cry because of it. I hope this belt helps considerably, because 3 more months of this kind of annoying pain will drive me nuts! Part of me is terrified that it won't go away after I have this baby. Before I was pregnant, I had this pain maybe once a month, now it's every day!

Tiffany - I feel for you on the back pain. I had it daily from 21 weeks to about 32 weeks. And then it just stopped. My guess is that DS shifted positions, and I got relief. Hope the maternity support belt helps. Hang in there!

Girls I feel you on the hip pain. Mine kills me. It feels like I have been kicked hard down there! I just want to cry it hurts so bad. This morning I even was wondering how I was going to get into my car. It hurts to move my legs at all. So ready for her to get here. Hope it stops after delivery.

Ugh, just got the call I failed my 1 hour glucose test. I had a 141, their cut off is 130. I am so upset. I've never had problems with my blood glucose before. Now I have to do the 3-hour test and she said I have to follow a special diet for 3 days leading up to it. She didn't seem very concerned, as it isn't super high, but still. I can't help but worry. I wish I could just talk to my husband, but I already said good night to him for the night!

Tiff - Just remember just because you failed the one hour doesn't mean anything yet. You can still pass the 3 hour and be good. Don't worry to much about it until you get the results back from the 3 hour. I have had gestational diabeties with both of my pregnancy from early on. You and baby boy will be ok.

Thanks Jamie. I'm actually heading to the pool for the 1st time and on the way back I'm going to pick up orange juice and a loaf of bread. I was given 2 lists and I'm supposed to choose 1 thing off of each list to eat extra every day. I choose the bread and orange juice. The thing is, I don't normally eat too much during the day. I'm considering making sure I eat good and plenty today and the next 2 days. The good thing is that I was able to get the test scheduled for 7am on Thursday, so at least it will be over with by 10am! I'll be such a nervous wreck until I get those results! Just need to make sure I carb load until then...
I am feeling a little better about it though. I did some research and my numbers really aren't "that" high. Some places consider 140 passing, it just happens that the hospital I go to considers 130 to be that cut off. Here's to hoping I pass!

Thanks! I can't help but feel a bit worried, but from everything I've read, I have a good chance at passing. Also everything I've read makes it sound like carb loading leading up to the test is the best. I think I'll just stick to eating normally and adding on the foods they told me to. So stressful though!

Hi Ladies,
Sorry I have been MIA the last couple of weeks! Just to let you know I'm still alive! And i had a BABY GIRL!!!!!!!!!
I had Emily Ryan on August 16th, one week overdue. I ended up being induced after an ultrasound showed I had too little amniotic fluid. Me and my husband went straight from the appointment to the hospital! I didn't even have my bag! So we checked in around 4, and I stated cervidil around 5:30. This medication was to soften my cervix because at that point I was around 50% effaced. I had to be hooked up to monitors overnight. Then around around 8 the next morning I started pitocin. The Dr. also broke my water. I still had to be bed ridden except for getting up to use the restroom.
Thats when things got a little interesting. Emily's heart rate dropped shortly after they broke my water, so I had to switch positions. They had me lay on my left side, and gave me oxygen. She seemed ok for a bit. They put an internal monitor for her heart rate and another for my contractions. They also were giving me fluids, so I was hooked up all over the place!! I started to really feel my contractions. I asked for my epidural around 10, but the anesthesiologist was in surgery so I had to wait!! That hour was tough. my contractions were getting stronger and were every two minutes i think. I just kinda closed my eyes and breathed through them. I remember my husband talking to me, I was listening but didn't answer him back! lol, I was a little focused somewhere else.
I got my epidural around 11 or 11:30, and it worked very quickly!! By the way, the epidural was a piece of cake!!!! At that point I was dialated to about 5 cm. My family showed up at that point (we told them to wait to arrive until I got the epidural). They hung out with me in my room until around 2. I was starting to feel pain or pressure in my crotch area. The nurses said that this was normal because the epidural doesn't really numb that part. The Dr. checked me and I was at a 9!! And that I could started pushing in an hour. Well Emily's heart rate dropped again, so again I had to switch positions. My family left the room except for my husband. And the nurse had me get on my hand a knees!!!!! I had to put my head down on my arms and do my first push that way! All I kept thinking was that this was not a beginners position!!! lol They fist couple of pushes were interesting! I don't think I was doing that well, but my awesome nurse gave me spme pointers and told me what to do. I quickly got the hang out it.
The Dr. came back into the room and said I could flip back over on my back, and I started pushing. They got the vacumn ready because they really wanted her out. But I was pushing so well they said if I kept it up, then they wouldn't have to use it. My sister and mom came back into the room at that point. All in all I was pushing for about 45 min. It went by really fast though! The hardest part was holding my breath during the pushes. Emily Ryan was born at 2:59 pm. She had a little trouble breathing so the nicu nurses came to check her out, but they quickly gave her back to me, and I got to hold her for the first hour of her life. She latched on right away when I breastfed her. She is soooo cute.
She will be two weeks old tomorrow. I feel like I am slowly getting the hang of things. We are learning her sounds and her habits and feeding schedules (or lack there of!) And everything is good. It is a little weird not being pregnant anymore! I've already lost 22 pounds from the day I had her! I'm trying to learn this new normal that my life is. I think I'm still in shock that we had a girl! (Everyone including us thought we were having a boy, we kept the sex a surprise and it was a great moment!!!!)
Good luck to you all!!!I hope your pregnancies go off without a hitch! Sorry it took me so long to post!!!!!

debra - CONGRATS on Emily!! Glad things went well for you! happy to hear from you! I was definitely starting to wonder!
Tiff - I'm sorry you have to do the 3 hr glucose test. I have no doubts you'll pass it though! I feel ya on the back pain. Maybe I should get a maternity belt too. I'll have to investigate it.
afm - ribs are really sore today. apparently he enjoys kicking them. i'm also definitely losing my steam quickly. i am so exhausted by the end of the day. feet and calves are swollen. hoping it's just normal swelling. have my second level II u/s on friday. excited to see the little one again and hopefully see my placenta previa resolved.

Debra - Congratulations. I'm glad little Emily arrived safe and is doing well. Gorgeous name by the way :) Can't wait to see photos.
AFM - Still waiting on my GTT results. I like to think no news is good news....One can only hope right? Since i did a 2 hour one if i fail this one im not sure if I have to do a 3 hour or not. I dare say they would tell me.
Tummy has poked out a lot more in the past few days and LO's kicks are getting more and more frequent...Not to mention harder and sometimes uncomfortable....Especially if she kicks down below which she seems to do more than not..Starting to wonder when shes going to get out of the breech position actually.

I really want to thank everyone for the support. After posting about the GTT test numerous places(I don't usually freak about stuff so easily), I am feel much better. From what I've found, the actual normal cutoff is 140, but some places do 130 to try to catch more people. So if that is the case, who knows, I could have passed if 1 more minute went by or something in some doctor offices. I'm not nearly as worried now. I'm just going to follow the diet they told me to do and not worry about it. Worse case scenario, I don't pass and I just have to change my diet, not the end of the world. I also have never had problems with my blood glucose, so I think my chances are good I'll pass. I'm almost certain that I at a PB&J about 2 hours before the test, and may have had a swig or 2 of pop, and a big glass of milk that morning. Thank you again everyone, I will keep you updated when I find out more. Now off to eat those 2 extra pieces of bread I'm supposed to eat today! Tomorrow I'm eating an extra 2 slices of bread and 16 oz of orange juice, exciting!

Tiffany--I'd be surprised if you fail the 3 hr. I am sure you just failed the 1hr because of the PB&J, etc. My OB had said that you don't "have" to fast 8hrs before the 1hr, but she recommends it to avoid failing unnecessarily. Good luck on the 3hr!!

Thanks Praises. If(and hopefully) I have other children, I WILL be fasting before the 1 hour. I would rather not have to go through all this. My husband suggested I bring my DS and just play a video game the whole time. I don't have any games for it right now though, I'm considering picking up something at Gamestop, 3 hours of magazines sounds boring.

Went for my return diabetes education class, and b/s are looking great for now with just diet and exercise! I am glad that at least for now I don't have to be on medication. I have been working so hard to keep them where they should be, I guess its paying off. I have also lost three pounds in a week, but they weren't concerned......
This baby is all over the place lately. She kicks me in my hips and then crawls way up, making me super uncomfortable. Cannot wait to meet her :) 8 more weeks!!

Sorry for popping in over here, I'm in my 2nd tri, but since there's lots of talk of gestational diabetes: I failed my 1 hour test yesterday! I am only 18 weeks so I am not happy. It was 155. I did eat granola and milk about 3 hours before the test, but still. I'm glad to see lots of people pass the 3 hour even after a failing 1 hour, but even if I fail I have support from people here who have done the gestational diabetes diet.

I received my pregnancy support belt yesterday. I was sitting on the couch this afternoon and noticed my midback starting to hurt, so I put it on. I have to say this, my mid back does not hurt right now. It is too early to tell if it is actually the belt making me feel better, but if it is, the best $15 spent ever! I can't help but feel like the belt is squeezing my little guy or something though, is there anything to worry about there? It's not exactly super tight or anything, but I get all weird with things pushing up against my stomach. Otherwise, nothing new. I have bad heartburn today, and it didn't help that I had to drink 16 oz of orange juice for the 3-hour tomorrow morning. I also couldn't remember if I took my Zantac this morning, so I figured I better not take it in case. I'll take it this evening before my food cutoff of 10pm. I'm happy this 3-hour test is tomorrow, get it done and over with. I am no longer concerned about it. IF I do NOT pass it, then it's a good thing to find out now, for my health and the baby's health. Yes, I am a bit too positive about things, my husband has a love/hate relationship with my positiveness. Alright, I hope everyone is doing well, I must cook my ham now and extra 2 pieces of toast since I'm going to work and won't be able to eat until after that test tomorrow, eww.

Not doing well today. Really hoping it's just a stomach virus, but was feeling nauseated this morning, then shaky and kinda like I was going to pass out, then back to nauseated. I apparently looked as bad as I felt, so my principal sent me home and covered my last class for me. I got home, took a nap and felt a little better, then had the leg cramp from h-e-l-l. It settled in my knee!! Then I worried it was a blood clot, not a cramp and was freaking out while I walked around trying to get rid of it. The walking around upset my stomach again, so now I'm back on the couch trying to rest and kick whatever this is. DH made me eat a bland sandwich for dinner since I really hadn't eaten anything but crackers today, which may be part of it too. Starting to think maybe it's a stomach bug and then low blood sugar from not eating as much as I usually do. ugh. SO not what I needed right now. I have a doctor's appt on Friday along with another level II u/s, so I'm trying to hang in there until then.
Sorry for the lack of personals. I promise I'll catch up tomorrow. Just was a bit worried there was something seriously wrong and value yall's feedback more than most.

I did get the mini cradle. My back was starting to hurt again, so I put it on just now, and the pain is again considerably less!
I hope you feel better soon Lauren!
So, I was under the impression the 3-hour GTT test took 3 hours. I get there at 7. They have a take a base draw, that's fine. But for some reason, I had to wait for the results to come back from it before I could start the test! It took almost 2 hours to get the results back! I tried asking what my results were, and the lab said they couldn't tell me, but they could say I fell into the the "normal" range. So after the 2 hours, I drank the drink and then did the 3 more draws every hour. It really wasn't that bad, just boring. I was incredibly hungry, but it didn't seem too bad for some reason. Afterward I got an egg, cheese, bacon biscuit and pumpkin muffin from Dunkin and drank a huge glass of milk. I still feel hungry and my head hurts. I'm also not sure if my doctor is going to call me with the results or not. Usually the way the military hospital works, if you don't hear from them, then everything was fine, so who knows. I'll write more later, I'm finding it hard to concentrate right now.
