Ugh - it is a LOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG stretch! Thanks, Praises, you are doing a rocking job on these threads!

I'm feeling like this home stretch is going to be a long one!
r6 - That's amazing that you got a surprise shower at work! I know you were still worried about how you were going to buy some things, and now it worked out! Fantastic! And yeah for being done with work soon!
Land - I've been reading up on signs that labor is close, and going potty more often is one sign. Apparently it's nature's way of cleaning you out before you have to push a baby out. Not sure how accurate it is, or how close it starts to happen before you actually go into labor, but I'm looking for anything at this point. But it's a bit weird to me because the other signs are things like your water breaking (duh!) and losing your mucous plug. I'm sure you are beyond ready to be done too, but you're doing fantastic! The belly is awesome!!!
So not fond of night-time anymore! I can't get comfortable, and when I do, DH is snoring away keeping me up. I kinda lost my mind on him last night, but I feel like he's not even conscience of me anymore. I guess I just want to feel like he wants to be with me and take care of me, and he's not getting it. He tries to tell me that he does, but I'm just having a hard time accepting it. Just a hard moment I guess.

Jen- I so get how you feel!!! DH is the sweetest, most loving person in the world but for some reason lately I've been feeling a little disconnected. I think it has something to do with him just getting back from deployment. It usually takes a good week of sex and snuggling to get back to normal. Now I'm living @ my parents' house and he's visiting for 3 day weekends each week and we're not having sex b/c I can't.... it's hard to get back to normal. BUT it's like I want him to be ALL over me & my belly 24/7. He'll spend time laying w/ his hand on my belly for a while @ night but for some reason I'm wanting him to like RUN over every time I say omg they're going crazy! I think he's being great but for some reason I think my hormones are wanting more lovey dovey-ness!! You should tell your doctor you're not sleeping and I'm sure he/she will offer ambien.... my miracle pregX3 secret to survival. I really am so not usually an advocate of meds but I'm telling you, it's saved my life! I haven't had a bad night's sleep in 2 months!
R6- isn't it crazy to know your due date is EXACTLY one month away!?!?!? I'm so jealous!! You need a ticker! I always have to go to the preg thread to see your due date, darnit!
ALL my preg ladies who want to feel sexier:
1. Motherhood maternity sells this bra extender piece thingy for $1.98..... LOVE IT. I can now wear all my 1st/2nd trimester bras again. I feel like my back won't stop growing & I've been having to wear this one UGLY one just so I could breathe. Not anyyymooreeeeee!!!
2. Got a new bra- as sexy as a maternity bra can be. It's also nursing!!! Not 100% made for comfort but it's HOT. Full coverage but lacey. I love it. Buy a size bigger than you are RIGHT NOW, if u get it.

3. SEXY ASS PANTIES- Warning- these are LOW ridaaassss!!!!!

I feel just about as un-sexy as I've ever felt now that I've tacked on 66 pounds. These items actually make me feel pretty hot so I thought I'd share. If you all DO recall, they led to butt entry..... ;) AHAHAH SORRYYYYY

So glad to hear that I'm not alone Land! I lost 50 pounds before I got pregnant, and while I've only gained about 30 or so, I feel kinda like I did before. It's that awkward, big, uncomfortable state at the moment, and feeling sexy is totally not where I am right now. I also completely get the wanting DH to be more "lovey-dovey". My DH is fantastic, but it's like you said there's just a disconnect right now. He also drives me crazy asking me how I'm feeling every minute! Like leave me alone, I'll tell you if anything is going on!!! As for the sleeping, I think part of it is my mind running like crazy. The whole idea of labor freaks me out - I'm such a planner and I can't even begin to plan when, where or how things will go. I'm still sleeping about 5 hours a night (broken up by trips to the bathroom) and have the time to take naps if I need to, although I never seem to.

Jen - I hear ya on night-times - if I move the wrong way, I get a shooting pain in my hip. My poor DH usually wakes up every time I get out of bed. I think I have the opposite problem, though - he wants to snuggle and spoon, but I'm too hot and the body pillow gets in the way. He sees it as a big divider between us because in order for me to lay on my left side, I am facing him with the pillow in between. We can't switch sides because his side is next to the wall and I'd have to climb over him every time I needed to get out!
Land - I'll try to put my EDD in the signature line every time - I never thought anyone would go to the trouble of looking me up in the Pregnancy thread! I never knew about the bra extender - that would so revive two of my bras. I just picked up some sexy/lacy nursing bras from Motherhood over the weekend. I'm hoping that they are actually going to do the trick when my milk comes in - they are in hitherto uncharted size territory for me!
AFM - Today wasn't as good a day at work (how could it compare to yesterday) and I am definitely ready to be done next week. Let's hope doctor agrees. It is hard to be this big and people are so surprised when I tell them that I still have a month left to go (give or take). One lady asked me if I'm sure it's not twins...:/

Land-Don't feel badly about the 66lbs, I've put on 45lbs! I have also been retaining a ton of water which is kind of uncomfortable. I found some great maternity/nursing bra's at Target for $12.99.
Jen-I hear you about sleeping. Haven't been able to do much of that lately because I'm up what feels like every hour.
R6-I am having a hard time at work as well. I seem to swell more by sitting in the chair all day. I come home looking very swollen.
AFM-Thought I would check in with everyone. Went to the OB today and I'm about 40% effaced! She's also dropped into my pelvic bones, head down! I can't believe I'm getting closer to meeting her!

r6 - Why is it that people feel they can make comments about the size of a pregnant woman? It seems so rude to me, yet they seem oblivious!
Wendy - Always good to know things are going they way they should! Glad your little girl is getting into position!
Ok, so where did June go??? It's now officially July, and I'm due in July! Seems like yesterday that I was telling DH I was pregnant. I know as fast as these last several months have gone, the days leading up to my due date are going to crawl!!! Went for a walk last night and I'm totally waddling at this point. I really feel how low she's getting now.

Hey Ladies! I haven't been on these boards lately. Been very busy with work, family, and summer in general. I can't believe i'm in the home stretch... and have nothing done! Sounds like everyone is doing well except the uncomfortable part which i can totally relate too. I'm still nauseaous almost daily but haven't puked for almost 2 weeks, which is the longest stretch since getting pregnant, so i'm hoping these next 12 or so weeks can be more enjoyable! Take care ladies and happy 4th!

Jen - You're getting so close! At least the time has flown up until now. I feel like I have been pregnant FOREVER (maybe I'm really getting to soak in the experience because I might only get to do it once?) - even my friends tell me that it seems like they can't remember a time when I wasn't pregnant.
Lilly - Welcome! Complications, birth horror stories...people love to share that stuff. I refuse to listen to it. Happy birth stories only, please!
Blaine - Welcome! I hope the nausea finally subsides for you. I found that eating frequently dispelled any nausea I had, so maybe that will solve both weight gain and nausea problems for you? (See my post on your other thread)...
AFM - I think this is my last week at work. I'm seeing my doctor on Friday morning and I hope that he will write me a note for medical leave. The weather has FINALLY warmed up here (mid-80s) and it is hard both mentally and physically to drag myself to the office and be productive.
In other news, I think baby might be coming sooner as opposed to later. Not tomorrow, mind you, but hopefully on or before the due date of July 30. I am just feeling "different." The third trimester loose stools seem to have started and my house is as clean as it has ever been. I'm even planning to get down and work on some stains in the carpet that have been there since we moved in but have only recently started bugging me. I also need to hang a shelf in the baby's room before I will consider it "done."
Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend - Canada Day was July 1st so I had Friday off but I am back at the grindstone today.

Hi Everyone!!!!!!!!
Hope all is well! It sounds like you ladies are getting pretty uncomfy! I have to say I am jumping on that bandwagon too! Nighttime is getting pretty hard. I swear no matter what I get up at least 3 times to pee in the middle of the night. And my cat has become pretty used to me letting him in or out of the house whenever he pleases so thats another time getting up. I go back to sleep right away, but it's starting to drive me nuts! lol Also, I spoke with my Dr. about my sharp pains, and he said it was just ligament pains. Apparently there is one ( I forget the name) that feels like you are being "stabbed in the crotch" (his words not mine lol!) if it is streched. So ya that is exactly what I've been feeling! lol
Kricket - sorry for the hospital scare, glad you are home and that you made it to the 3rd trimester!
R6- I'm so happy your co-workers gave you a shower! That is so great!!!!!!! Also sounds like you are nesting quite a bit! My coworkers are doing something for me on the 14th (I'm not supposed to know about it but I do). After that I plan on getting the nursery more in order. It's pretty functional right now but not exactly how I want it. Although I'm not going to really decorate it until the baby comes so I know what the sex is.
Land - You had me laughing again about the lingerie. I bought some bigger bras that were also nursing bras because I didn't want DH to think I was wasting money. Well, he HATES them! He says he doesn't like the wider straps they have. So I ended up going to target and getting a better looking but still cheap regular bra, that does make me feel more sexy.
Sorry if I missed anyone! I thought for sure since I hadn't been on for a while I would come back and you all would have gone into labor!!!! Glad the babies are still baking. Stay cool ladies!

Congrats EJ on your new arrival!
debra-I'm getting sick of the nightime pee trips too. Thankfully I haven't had much ligament pain... only if I sneeze in a weird position...I haven't had the crotch pain so sorry about that!
r6-Must be exciting to feel so close!
welcome to the new ladies just joining. I know how you feel...I'm still pretty new here myself :)
AFM- I passed my 1hr Glucose test! yay! but I'm a bit anemic so I have to start taking an iron pill so bring on the constipation! blech. I've already been dealing with it and the Iron will just make it worse but such is pregnancy. I've also started getting carpal tunnel in my fingers and wrists from swelling
I'm also freaking out a bit cuz I only have about 11 weeks left and I don't have the baby room painted or furniture set up and I haven't bought a single outfit or anything! I only have the crib, carseat, stroller, and a swing! and NOTHING else! we planned to get most of it done in the summer but so far we have been so busy! June just disappeared! and July is pretty packed for us too! And now I'm starting to get the "nesting" urge and want to clean everything but I don't have time! I have started cleaning some random stuff cuz at least it makes me feel like I'm getting something done...even if it's not the baby's room! but I will get it done sooner or later....hopefully sooner since I don't want to deal with it at the end of pregnancy or when the baby actually gets here hehehe

Hi girls!! I'm up out of bed briefly to grab something to eat and while it's warming I thought I'd see how everyone is. Sounds like everyone is doing well and we are all coming into the home strech. Some of us are closer than others and I hope the rest of our pregnancies are comfortable and uneventful!
I had my 28 week scan at the perinatologist yesterday and my abruption looks good. There's one small area on the end but he's not concerned. The baby is starting to measure at bit small but he did a cord flow study and it's great. Baby has good fluid, movement etc... He said at this point smaller babies (my husband and I are not big people) will start to measure smaller. He said not everyone is destined for the 8 lb baby. He's not worried at all about the size and I'm to continue with modified bedrest and call for any increase in bleeding or cramping. I need to get my laptop charged and running so I can catch up.
Take care everyone!!

BTW.....Has anyone else had Celestone (Steroid injections)? My butt still hurts from them.:)

Deb - Well, the good news is that you are able to get back to sleep right away. That won't be the case when ou're up to tend to baby! I get sharp ligament pain when I walk too fast. Is anyone else having pain from their sciatic nerve, either in the back or hip? My right hip randomly gets shooting pains when I move the wrong way, but I can never pinpoint what movement is doing it.
Alwilki - LOTS of time! I don't know if you're having a baby shower for any of those items, but even if not, you've still got 2-3 months left and some things you won't need to figure out until after the baby is born. Maybe your pregnancy is flying by but BOY the last month sure is CRAWLING for me!
Kricket - Glad baby is doing well! Your peri seems to be on top of everything. Bake, bake, bake!

Krick- I had the steroids. I didn't think they were that bad. My butt soreness only seemed to have lasted for a few hours if that.... Hurt the most to me in the first 30 seconds to 10 mins as the medicine spread. I also made sure to hold an ice pack on my butt for the 10 mins before the shot and I think that really helped.

Lilly - Welcome!
Blaine - Hope the next 12 weeks are enjoyable for you, and you have plently of time. I remember thinking I had to rush around and get things done at one point, but things seem to work themselves out too. It will all get done in the end.
r6 - I feel like I have been pregnant forever too! I've waited so long for this though, and I'm soaking up every minute of it. I had started a pregnancy scrapbook, week by week, and am really just now getting to working on it. It's neat to look back and remember all the little moments though! Glad you caught the nesting bug, because I've just been down right lazy lately! Exhausted is more like it! Hope work is done soon for you and you can rest up too!
Debbie - I think I would have lost it if I heard my doctor explain something like that! I've never had that kind of pain, but have had one that I can only explain as if baby is knocking on my cervix. Hurts, and makes me feel like I have to pee, but she's head down and has been for awhile, so I really don't know what that is.
Kricket - Glad to hear things are looking good!!! Rest up and bake that baby now!
Alwilki - Yeah for passing the 1 hour glucose test! The 3 hour was not fun! There never seems to be enough time, yet you will get it done! My sister just got married and I was her maid of honor. I had lots to do to help her with her wedding and somehow managed to get everything done. My brother also graduated HS, we had a few weddings to go to, bridal shower, graduation parties and my baby shower. It's been a busy month and a half for my family, but it gets done!
Land - Love the room! I had to giggle a bit at the "wall of cribs". I work at a daycare center and it reminded me of that.
Ok, so I'm nearly in the single digits for days left! I'm nervous and excited at the same time, and it's certainly the strangest feeling ever!!! We've been TTC for about 7 years and the fact that everything is going to happen so soon is surreal! I had an appointment yesterday and asked the doctor to check me, I'm dialated to about 2 - 3 cm already, pretty well effaced and at a -2 station. He said he may see me this weekend. I've been having lots of BH contractions for the past few days, nothing real painful or consistent though. I've also been walking tons every night to try to help things along. Bags are packed, car seat is in the car and I have my last minute list of things to grab, so we're pretty much ready, just waiting on Kelsey to decide now!

Hi Ladies.. well I had a real bad night and quite the scare last night. But thank god baby Kaydence is okay. Well stupid me was outside watching the dog go out last night, it was raining, and I went to take the take off the porch and I FELL. Down all 4 steps, head first, hitting my belly, and all over my body. I don't know how I did it, I guess I just missed the first step :( I dont know how I could be so careless!! I hit all the steps, and at the bottom of the steps/porch there's gravel and landed belly first, and then onto my back. My first reaction while mid-air was to protect my stomach and landed onto my left arm. DH was sleeping, plus the a/c and tv were on I laid outside on the ground for about 5mins yelling and crying. Finally he woke up and was all upset and picked me up and helped me back into the house. I was so upset and in pain. All I could think about was the baby and praying to GOD that she was okay. Jason (DH) brushed me all off as I had gravel all over me, and helped me get re-dressed and then called the Emergency Room at the hospital and we went to the ER. We were in there for hours, all I could think about was the baby the pain I was in all over my body didn't matter. After hours of being there, and monitoring me and the baby, she was fine. Thank god. All I could do was cry. The baby's heartbeat was great, and she was moving all around.I wasn't having any contractions, or bleeding or abdominal cramps, just pain from the falling and hitting the steps on my stomache, along with all over the rest of my body. My arm isn't broken they did an x-ray and they said no fracture but it does hurt quite a bit. I can barely move it. Today it hurts to move, sit, stand any thing. I feel like a train hit me. Doctor said to just take it easy for the next few days, and if i do experience any bleeding/spoting,abdominal (period like) cramps, quite a bit less fetal movement or contractions to come back in asap. That was quite the scare last night.. I kept thinking the worse. My mother got in a car accident with me, and also fell down a few stairs and went into early labor with me. I was born 2-3 months early so I kept thinking the same thing would happen with me.Ah.. thankgod the baby is okay. I'm still in shock and I just hope nothing comes of it and everything stays okay..

Land- love the nursery!!!! I've seen some cute ideas using tissue paper poms or paper laterns to make a huge mobile/focal point in a nursery. That might be an idea so they can all see it and you can make it match your colors:)
Also love how your cribs are set up! Makes it super easy to get each one:) We have 2 on one wall with the changing table in the middle and then the 3rd crib on the opposite wall. We have full size cribs though. Wish I would have gotten mini cribs, but it was too late by the time I learned about them.

Hey Ladies!!! Thanks so much about the crib- I LOVE IT, too.... not gonna lie!! :) I decided on the wall color/stripes idea long ago.... also those IKEA cribs got rated "best basic crib" so didn't hesitate ab those. W/ the curtains.... I had NO idea what I was gonna do or what theme I could go with for unisex SO my mom and I were just browsing Bed, Bath & Beyond & we saw that curtain set.
Judy- I totally thought about the pom things!!! My mom thinks they're tacky but I think they would go with the room the best & I think they're super cute!
Lauren- We got the dresser @ Target & it was only like 150 bucks! I found it online! It's a pain in the a*S to put together (So I hear) ;) but I love the way it looks in the room!
Dawn- That's like my worst nightmare every time I go down stairs for my doc appts! I'm SO happy to hear that you and LO are safe. I bet you won't be checking on the dog anymore @ night!!! :)

Baby A is the boy & he's stuck in the middle/bottom of my belly..... do you think it's cruel that I stick his crib in between his sisters!?!? :) It's hard to find a mobile that goes w/ the theme & not be TOO super girly.

My FREAKING KNEES are about to give out on me. I played soccer my whole life/college & I have bad knees as a result..... now I've tanked on 67 pounds. birth control is something i'm not looking forward to figuring out. i really don't want to go back on the pill!!! it just seems so silly that i had to take meds to ovulate, yet i need birth control "just in case". ugh

Hey ladies. Just wanted to pop over here I will be with you Tuesday! I can't believe it! I totally understand about being uncomfortable! I have been hurting to walk for a while now and now the pain is getting worse. I have the siatic nerve pain too in my hip. Now of course the rib pain has started. I had no pains with my first but this one has been a whole different experience.
Land have you thought about the Essure, it is suppose to be permanant birth control?

Hey ladies! It's been rather quiet over here the past few days!
Dawn - Hope all is well with you! How are you feeling?
I'm beginning to dislike my doctor for putting the idea in my head that I would deliver about a week early. I'm having no signs of contractions at all! As of Wednesday, I was 2-3 cm dialated, pretty well effaced, -2 station and on Friday I'm pretty sure I lost my plug. No idea why some things seem to be moving along like they should, but nothing is progressing! I'm just getting impatient I guess. DH is sweet though and has been looking up natural ways to induce labor! :) We've tried several things so far with no luck though! We have an appointment today with a pediatrician's office to do a walk through so I guess that's a plus. Hope everyone is doing well!

Re: serious birth control. I'm worried that my husband is going to start talking about the big V after the baby is born. He might be done, but I'm not ready to make a final decision like that yet!! But once we are ready for permanent birth control, he's going for the snip (although even then you do hear about babies being conceived...).
Landb - You're doing great! Another week down!
Jamie - An early welcome to the third tri boards!
Jen - Remember, your baby girl will come when she's ready, and that's the best way. I am deliberately refusing internal checks on E&D because there is no rhyme or reason as to how soon you will go into labour and I don't want to get my hopes up. Funny that with all the advances in reproductive sciences, they still have no way of really telling when a baby is going to come on his/her own!
AFM - Friday was my last official day of work. I finally bit the bullet and started temporary disability. It will switch over to maternity leave when the baby is born. I'm glad that my countdown is finally into the teen numbers, but I have to remember not to attach too much significance to the EDD (although I really want a July baby!).
GBS test this week and otherwise it's just wait for baby...DH gets home on Wednesday and he will be home at least until the baby is born. I'm going to put him to work with a few last-minute things in the nursery (I want him to put up a shelf and we are going to decorate together with some wall appliqués).

Glad dh is coming home, have fun finsihing up the nursery! I have a friend of mine that sold me her baby bed yesterday and mattress for $100.00 I am so excited. I am getting it Wednesday! Ready to get it up and start getting everything washed and ready for her to get here!

Oh I'm almost certain when my babies are actually good & self sufficient, I'll miss having a baby around and want to try for another. I'm all talk right now. So is DH. If someone gave me a million dollars to afford 4 kids, it'd be a different story. SO, def. won't be looking into a permanent birth control option.
PLUS, WTF would I do if I ended up w/ multiples again? As if I don't ALREADY want to stab every broad who looks @ me sideways and says "now are theses NATURAL!?" F*ck u, homegirl. Or the..... "How did this happen? :) :) :)".... well, one night we got WASTED! My husband stuck his wee wee in me THREE TIMES IN ONE NIGHT. Something like two weeks later and I peed on myself b/c I couldn't hold it.... I thought, MAYBE I'M PREGNANT WITH TRIPLETS!?!?!?!? How did your kids "happen"??

r6 - Have you gotten things done now that you're off or taken to relaxing??? Isn't it a strange feeling knowing you won't work again until your baby is officially here?
Jamie - Official welcome!!! Great deal on a mattress and bed too!
Deb - Hi!
Land - People are always interested in multiples, but they tend to be rude about it too. I did get a good laugh out of your post though! Any idea how much longer you have? Are they planning on going ahead with a c-section at a certain point?
Still here, and still pregnant. I have another appointment tomorrow morning and hope something happens by then. So far today, I've walked on the treadmill for 45 minutes, went to the fruit market, Meijers (where I walked nearly the whole store) and to Costco. I'm still planning on vacuuming the house, making dinner and possibly baking some cookies before begging my DH to go for an evening walk with me and the dog. If walking doesn't coax her out, it's at least helping me stay active at this point! I never thought I would long for the pain of contractions . . .

LOL praises- thanks, girl. No people better NOT mess w/ my offspring!
Jen- They said that full term for triplets is considered to be around 35-36 weeks. They said for ME they probably wouldn't let me go much past 35 weeks and we'd schedule a c-section at that point. I'm seriously thinking I'll get there. I've decided that if I get there and they let me pick a date that I'd pick August 3rd. DH and I are all ab the 3's & that's my grampa's b-day who died before I ever got to meet him. We will have to see! These babies seem to be super cozy and having a blast in there! It's so fun to push on each of them gently and feel them push back. I also LOVE when they hear music or DH is talking to them and go crazy!! I hope your little angel makes her appearance soon. Are you and DH doing the nasty to try to poke her on out!?

Land that would be awesome if you made it that far, although I have to admit I'm still in awe of how you manage to have 3 babies in you! When we were doing meds, I had a cycle that I overstimmed (had 9 mature follies) and the topic of selective reduction came up. DH and I were not for it so they cancelled the cycle altogether, but I said at the time that I would be ok with twins or triplets, and they kept telling me that I wasn't built to carry multiples. I'm only 5' 1". I can't even imagine having another baby in me at this point! Hopefully you make it that far! And yes, we've been doing other things to work on getting her out! LOL It doesn't seem to be working, and it's totally weird for me!

Your docs are crazy for saying you couldn't handle multiples! I'm 5'3 and started @ 114 lbs. After I found out I had 3 in me I said "Am I not gonna topple over!?!?"..... My fertility doc's wife had 7 kids w/o meds..... including spontaneous triplets. She's 5 foot flat and skinny minny! Your body will do what it needs to do!!! I'm absolutely convinced that me putting on the appropriate and recommended weight gain is what has taken me so far!!!

Well ladies, I never did make it to my appointment Wednesday morning! Kelsey decided to start the party on her own Tuesday night around 8:30 when my water broke. We headed to the hospital shortly after and she was born Wednesday morning at 3:59 am. I'm still in awe of this little person, and so amazed. I'm going to try to post my story soon, it went pretty quickly and was a total whirlwind of a day. I'm thinking about you all!

Haha - so my water broke this morning. DH and I were trying out a "labour induction method" (I'll spare you the details, but I think the poor man was traumatized because it definitely worked!).
I am just relaxing at home, waiting for the contractions to pick up in intensity/regularity. So far I have done two loads of laundry and baked some muffins to share with my care team at the hospital.

Thanks ladies! No time to catch up on everyone just now but hope everyone is well. Here's the story (posted in the Moms and Pregnacy Forums, so no need to re-read if you have already):
Ethan Patrick was born at 4:48pm on Friday, July 15, 2011, weighing 6lb, 6oz and measuring 19 inches in length. Here is the tale of how he got here (we'll see how many posts it takes me because I'm sure to exceed the maximum characters):
As I mentioned, my water broke at 4:30am (thank goodness I had just recently put a waterproof pad on the mattress!). It was clear and I didn't feel the cord come down, so I knew I was good to stay home from the hospital until I felt good and ready to go in. I kept myself occupied by baking, doing laundry, packing my bag, etc. I tried to sleep again, but it was pretty much impossible simply because I was excited. I got in touch with my (back-up) doula and she confirmed that I was doing all the right things, including labouring positions.
Contractions were irregular and very manageable until about lunch time when they picked up in frequency and intensity. I don't know if I was experiencing true "back labour" or if I just experienced the sensation of the contractions in my back - being on my hands and knees really helped me. At that point I called my doula and let her know that things were moving along, but I still didn't need her to rush over.
Within an hour, I was starting to think about heading to the hospital, so I called my doula and asked her to meet me at my house so that we could be sure I made the decision at the right time (hospital policy here is that you cannot eat or drink anything but ice chips and popsicles once admitted so I didn't want to go in too early and try to labour for a long period with little nourishment). However, before she could even arrive, I very clearly "knew" that it was time to go so my husband and I jumped in the car and met her at the hospital.
I was nervous on the ride over that I was going to find out that I was only 2-3cm because at that point, I didn't think I could handle another 8cm. Thankfully, by the time they checked me in triage I was actually 9-10cm - the doctor could see the baby's head and hair (the exam was excruciating because I had to lie flat on my back - I can't imagine delivering in that position)! Needless to say, they got me into delivery room right away.
Once there, I experimented with a few positions (standing & swaying, hip circles, squatting), but nothing worked as well as simply being on my hands and knees on the bed with my husband and doula each lightly rubbing my entire back and wiping my face and neck with cool cloths. My husband put on some music (Oka - Music Makes Me Happy) and I just got into my groove. I had been trying to just breathe my way through each contraction, à la Hypnobirthing, but soon I was just "letting my monkey do it" and making some very deep, guttural, primal moans and growls.
The most challenging contractions were the ones between full dilation and the urge to push, but hubby and doula were good at keeping me on top of them. Because I was facing the head of the bed (and the wall) I was not really aware of all of the comings and goings in the room so I don't know how often the doctor/nurses came by to watch my progress - but they stayed out of my hair. I was, however, fully coherent and actually took the time to chat and my jokes between contractions about how I was making it sound like a barnyard with my "horsey" sounds.
Once I felt pressure (and it didn't feel like I was going to "poop" my baby out - it felt like both baby AND poop were going to come out!), I found it very satisfying and rewarding to push forcefully and aggressively with incredibly loud, deep grunts (to rival Gold's Gym roid-heads). My doctor told me that my vocal chords would be the sorest part of my body the next day! (Side note: at that point, the music was Bob Marley & The Wailers).
Pushing didn't take long (I was later told 20 minutes, but I had no awareness/perception of time at that point). I distinctly remember the feeling of the baby's head moving forward and the disappointment/frustration when I felt it recede. The strangest sensation was when the baby's head was born but the body was not yet delivered. I stopped to pant to keep from pushing, allowing the doctor to maneuver the baby into the best position. I didn't see the baby come out, but I did hear him cry and I saw his foot scoot by under me looking down between my knees.
I got skin-to-skin contact right away () while I received a few stitches for a minor tear. I was even able to attempt breastfeeding before they weighed and checked the baby.
It was an amazing, spiritual experience I will never forget.

congrats Jen and r6 on your new babies!
debra-enjoy the time off...I only get 6 weeks of maternity leave so I plan on working as long as I possibly can so I can spend as much time as I can with my baby...but it is getting really hard to concentrate with baby moving all the time and then since when I come back to work, I'll only be PT, they are already trying to transition to how things will be when I get back so I have less to do but I'm still there for my full time hours so I get bored quite often and feel lazy even though I understand why they are doing it.
land-hang in there! you can do 2 more weeks! I can't imagine how miserable you must be! On one hand I want my pregnancy to be over cuz I'm about done with it and I want to meet my baby, but on the other hand, I need all the time I can get to get everything ready before he comes! but I only have one baby...I'm sure your are itching to get those babies out a lot more than I am!
AFM, just feeling really "blah" lately. I got my first stretch marks :( and the summer heat is just no fun. I feel so gross cuz this pregnancy is making me sweat a lot more than normal and between hot flashes and peeing all night long, I'm not getting much sleep and so I'm tired all the time. I've been swelling too so I'm getting the lovely fat ankles and feet and chubby fingers. I can now only fit into my gym shoes or flip flops...but since I can barely reach my feet to tie laces, I just wear flip flops (not that I'm complaining) I love feeling my baby move though and love how often I can feel him now! and we are slowly getting stuff done in the baby room although somedays it seems like it will never be done!

Hi ladies, well it's been a while since I've been on here again. Gughh I gotta stop taking such long breaks from this forum! Anyways I'm 32weeks now. This morning is my last anatamy scan. Which we are definately excited about and knowing that we'll see our baby and all her features and her measurements and weight and everything, but at the same time it's a tad sad thinking this is my last ultrasound of the pregnancy. That us, unless doc thinks I need another one or something. Anyways.. things have been going pretty well, although here's the latest from the doctor.
My sugar's have been pretty good even though doc never diagnosed me with gestational she still wanted me to monitor. So for a few months now I've been checking sugars 3x a week, but all fastings. Which, surprisingly have been very low.Too low actually. But then one time went into hospital about something and my sugar's were over 200 which is high, but at the same time I had just eaten, and had chugged down juice while IN the hospital. So, ever since then I've been checking, but only fastings. Well, doc had me go in for 1hr Gluclose test last week, came back 162. Which she said is not real bad or too high, but higher than what she'd like to see. Sooo NOW because of that, she wants met checking sugars 3x week fasting and 3x week 2hrs after a meal so we can monitor the sugars a little more closely.Which, is fine. She has however doesn't understand why my sugar gets so low, but then high. Probably because I'm fasting my eating habits so often. Which, I'm trying really hard to eat more often instead of just once or twice a day but it's just hard. I don't have much of an appitite anymore for some reason. Anyways, because of the Glucose test comming back with the those results, even though she doesn't "really" consider me gestational diabetic, she's going to label me as that. So now I have to go see her once a week. Before I would have her app every 2 weeks, and wouldn't be starting the weekly apps until next month. But now, she has me comming in weekly, and at each app she said she will be doing the non-stress stress test to monitor the baby's heartbeat/movement. So, I'm sort of worried about it.. She said everything seems fine but, why all the monitoring? Is it because of the "possible" gestational? Or does she think I'm going to have the baby early (as me and my family all think so). I don't know, just worried I suppose...
I've also still been having ALOT pressure.. each day seems to get more intense and more pressure. Before it was all uterin or lower pressure, and now it seems to go from the bottom of my stomache down to TMI ( my foo foo area). She's also been moving quite a bit, and I can definately feel more intense movement. And now and then I do get some braxton hicks. Ah well after writing a zillion pages of how I'm doing, that's all for now.
How have all you ladies been? Anyone have their baby early yet? Sorry it's been a while so hard to catch up on everyone!!! :p

Liz - I am glad they have you a scheduled day! You can get these babies to that day! You have done great already!
debra - Congrats on starting maternity leave. I am going to try and work up until the day before I have Kailyn we don't have maternity pay so I have to use my earned leave.
Alwilki - Bless your heart! I am 28 weeks and already uncomfortable. So I understand completely!
Dawn - I have had gestational diabieties with both of my pregnancies and with Bean I never went every two weeks either, went straight to weekly. Not sure what he will do with this one. Guess I will find out Tuesday. They would do the non stress test on him too every visit. Gestational diabieties babies tend to be bigger so they like to monitor them to make sure they are not getting to big to fast. Good luck!

dawn--are you not doing your fasting at night and testing in the morning? you want to make sure you are not fasting during the day, especially 3x a week. your sugar would be low in the AM and that can cause some women to feel crappy when they wake up. so it does sound best to test after fasting and after eaten to get a better idea of what's going on.

It just occurred to me today that it is NOT normal to have 3 babies at one time. Sweet, 8 lb 7 oz baby Jesus, PLEASE make these next 2 weeks fly by.
C-section on the 3rd is scheduled for 8:25 a.m. so I guess it's pretty awesome that I don't have to starve all day long before surgery, right?
This chic I know had trips @ 35.5 weeks and the drs let 2 of her 3 stay in her room with her immediately. A blessing- absolutely.... but this scares the balls out of me!!!!!!!! I wonder if they'd just like- babysitt them at first if I ask???? Shouldn't it be illegal to give someone more than one baby all at one time???

Land I love that you "just realized" that having 3 babies at one time is not the norm!!! LOL At my hospital, the recommended you to room in with your baby, but the option of sending them to the nursery was there to. It might be something you want to do to get a bit of sleep. It would be amazing if they could be with you right away though, means they are doing great and you did an amazing job baking them!
Deb, enjoy your maternity leave! I got pretty restless near the end too, but take time to rest and get little things done. You won't have time to soon!
Enjoy the end of your pregnancy ladies, it goes by way too fast. I'm already missing my belly and feeling my little girl move. It surprised me how used to it I got. I have to say, sleeping on my belly is fantastic, and losing 16 pounds in one week didn't hurt either! :)

Awe Land you will be just fine :) It might not be the norm to have 3 babies at 1 time. But it will be your norm in no time. Both of our girls were able to room with us (born 35w3d). It was an interesting experience, but these are our first and we didn't know any different. You will adapt to what you are given and you will do just fantastic. People always say "I don't know how you do it" or " I couldn't handle 2 at one time" when they find out we have twins. I always think its funny because what choice do you have??? You do what you have to do and figure it out. Honestly, it's not easy, but its not that hard. It's certainly doable. But these are our first so we don't know any different. If we had a singleton first I might feel differently.

Well I went to my doc app yesterday, my doc wasn't in as she was delivering, and next week she's on vacation sooo.. Instead of seeing my doc I seen a midwife.Which surprisingly, I liked... I always thought I'd rather have a doctor, but honestly, she was very nice, and talked alot and explained alot. I do love my doctor though, she's amazing but.. it was different seeing a midwife than an OB doc it's kinda sorta making me second guess my opinion?
Anyways, we had gone over my sugar's as they've been slightly high.. still low in the mornings when I fast, but then after dinner at night high.. like 150-190 high :/ .. So the midwife told me yesterday from now on to test in the morning (fasting) and then 2hours after EVERY meal.. so that's 3-4x a day (as I dont eat 3x a day all the time) ugh so that's just peachy, I hate needles. I know I should be watching my diet better though, so alot of this is my fault. My sides of my family are diebetic and I grew up with it, hell at 8yrs old I was giving my dad and gram insulin shots.. so you'd think I'd be more carefull KNOWING how diebetes is? I was doing pretty good early on in pregnancy, but when she was afraid of the whole gestational thing and I was testing just my fasting's in the morning, and then being really low (50-80's) I was shocked, and not concerned, and that's when I kinda stopped my whole diet and watching what I was eating/drinking sort of thing and went back to sugar sugar sugar. Now that I know my sugar's are slightly .. well a little high now I'm worried... So when I go see her next week she's going to take a look at my numbers, and if I can't seem to control them and watch my diet again, then on the pill I go. Oh yay.......... any you ladies have/had gestational? If you did, how big did your baby really get? And now, I'm scared to death of having to have a c-section as that seems to happen to alot of diabetics... :/

Landbttc- CONGRATS! So happy for you! I bet your sooo excited for next Tuesday! :)
AFM- I went to the doc on Thurs (last week) and of course my doc wasn't available as she was delivering, so I had to see a midwife.. which, wasn't so bad as I thought, she seemed very nice just.. different. I never seen a midwife before, always my OB doc.. ANYWAYS.. she wanted me to come in again today (why less than a week is beyond me!) Well, AGAIN my OB wasn't there, this week she's on vacation sooo I had to see that midwife again. Well, my sugar's have been getting higher, esp at night. Mornings/fastings are still good, actually still low. It's afternoon and night time they're high. And it's usually around 120-180's. :/ Well.. after having me check my sugar's 4x a day (YIKES!) since thursday, she decided to put me on Glyburide 2.5mg 2x day. Once in morning, once at night. Before meals. Is what she said. So, all day I've been thinking.. I know MY doc had mentioned if my sugar's stayed elevated, then she'd put me on the pill. Which is what this doc did. However, when I was reading up on it (even though I know about glyburide from family taking it for years) I wanted to know how it is for pregnancy. Well, I found out most gestational woman take it 1x day, not 2 unless severe. So that got me thinking.. she wants me to take it morning(1hr before meal) and dinner time(1hr BEFORE dinner).. and so I go to thinking, since I'm new to the medication and my sugars aren't THAT bad, will it drop me severe and make me go into real low sugar? Even hubby is wondering, esp since in the mornings I'm low sugar alot of times anyways. Why would she have me take it in the mornings, when my mornings are fine, and half the time low? Wouldn't that pill make it drop even more? So now Im sort of worried, and so is hubby.. afraid that it will drop me TOO low.. so, I guess we shall see. That midwife wants me to come back in on thursday (i wont be seeing my doc, or that midwife but another doc) i guess just to check up on sugars, and make sure the pill is working okay, and what not. Hubby thinks that I try the pill. I just took my first dose, and then tomorrow when I take it see how it is. and give it a day or two and if it makes me go too low, to stop it and wait to see MY doc and talk to HER about ev erything.. which, I sort of have to agree with him. I'm kind of uncomfortable about it esp the whole morning thing...Another thing, I seen on SOME medical websites that pregnant woman should NOT take glyburide unless absolutely nessisary? even for gestational? I also read up that you should STOP the medication 2 weeks prior to delivery.. well geesh, how in the world am I gonna know when that is???? How does anyone unless they're induced/set up for delivery yah know? I ALSO read that you should'nt breastfeed on it.. which, I plan on doing. So anyways.. I'm sort of weary about it. Any you ladies been on Glyburide durring pregnancy for either regular diebetes or gestational???
Also- I've been wondering 2 weeks ago when I went to my doc (yes it was MY doc not the midwife) she had mentioned that because of the gestational at EVERY appointment they'd be doing the "non-stress, stress-test) to monitor the baby.. well.. they haven't.. so, when I go in on thurs again, even though it won't be with my doctor, should I say something? Ah.. so much going on.. how you ladies all doing?

Land - You have done amazing! I can't imagine having that much baby weight in side! I feel right now I am going to topple over sometime and she can't weigh but somewhere around 3lbs. lol! Glad you got them to move it up a day! Can't wait to see all three of them!
dawn - I was on Metformin 1500mg and Glubride 5 mg twice a day with Bean. It did not lower my sugar at all. I hope it doesn't bottom yours out but I would watch it and if you have problems call your dr.

SO Update on the whole "Gyburide" thing for my "borderline" gestational.. Well I took that first dose Monday night (1hr before dinner, 2.5mg) well, 2hrs after dinner I checked my sugar before bed. And I was feeling a tad shakey, so I was afraid I was low. Well, near behold that pill totally made me DROP I was only 46!!!!! Hubby was real worried, and I started shaking bad. When I came back into the bedroom to tell him he jumped up, (we didnt have many snacks or anything until today since today's payday to go shopping) so he grabbed the bag of choc chips and cup of juice. He then stayed up with me for about an hour incase I would go into shock or something. About an hour later I checked sugar again. It was still only 48!!!!!!!!!! WTH.. that medicine totally made me drop! So hubby gave me another cup of juice, and a brownie that time. I was getting tired, so I prayed it worked, and went to bed.
That morning I woke up around 8ish ( i slept in) checked my sugar and it was still low, but higher. It was then 68. Well, I was worried and so wasn't Jason. I didn't want to take the pill that morning as I was already low and didn't want to go back into extreme low. So I called the doctor.
Well, since my OB doc was out last week at my app due to delivering a baby, and out on Monday (this whole week due to vacation, ugh!) I had to talk to that midwife.. I told her what had happened that night and she wasn't even a BIT concerned! It's liek wtf are you kidding me? Well, I've grown up around diabetics, both sides the family. esp my dad and gram. Hell since I was 8yrs old I was giving dad insulin shots numerous times a day! And if it's one thing I know about, I know about diabetes! Well, I questioned her. I couldn't believe she was reacting the way she was.
If you're almost 8months pregnant, and your sugars were only in the 40's ahhh woudln't you be concerned? As you can go into shock, and other diabetic situations???? All she told me was to "eat more, aka. snack more" and to take a snack right before bed so it "doesn't happen again". And she told me to continue taking the med. 2x a day. Well, I'm sorry but I just don't feel comfortable doing that. I get low sugar's in the morning WITHOUT the pill (it's afternoon/night when my sugar's rise) and I'm not about to put myself, and my baby into low sugar, and chance anything happening! And hubby feels the same way! I want to talk to MY doctor, and I dont want to keep taking it, let alone TWICE a day until SHE know's what's going on...
So yesterday, I took it mid-morning (well okay around noonish) before lunch.. and that was it. I never took it again at night before dinner or anything. And I was fine. The highest my sugar got yesterday was 120 and that was after dinner.. Yes maybe a tad higher than it maybe sh ould be, but not high. And certainly not high enough for me to chance taking that med and going into severe low sugar again that night. So I made up my mind. I will take the pill 1x day. Morning/early afternoon. And when I get to see MY doc again (prob next week) I will tell her what's going on, and go from there. At least she know's me, and I trust her choices, better than that midwife that I've only met twice.
Anyways, I'm supposed to go back into the docs tomorrow. But the midwife isn't going to be there either.. So I have to see another doc (some guy doc) that I've never met before.. and when I asked her why I needed another app in teh same week (since I JUST seen her Monday) she said it was to "see how I was doing" about the Glyburide, and how it's reacting and such. So.. even though I think it's "useless" in going tomorrow, I guess I'll go. And I'll be strait up with him about how I reacted to it Monday night, and my choice on the fact of it that I will agree to take it 1x daily. And when MY doc gets back, we'll discuss it and go from there. I dunno how he's gonna act/say about it but awell. He's not my doctor and neither is that midwife. They don't know me, they don't know anything ab out me except from skimming my chart for a few seconds.
What do you ladies think? Esp you ladies that have/had gestational diabetes (or Type 1 or 2). Do you agree with my decision? Or wou ld you continue to do what that midwife said and continue taking it 2x day, and chance going into low sugar again??????
ANYWAYS- enough about me... How are all you ladies doing???

dawn - I don't blame you! That would scare me too! As long as cutting it back to 1 a day your sugars are staying controled I would not go over that especially since you had such a drop. When I was taking it my sugars were really high sometimes over 200 so I needed it twice a day. Hope you get some answers!
afm - Had my last 4 week appt yesterday. She weighed 3 lbs 1 oz and was measuring great, right on schedule! Talked about my c section and we are going to try and wait until 39 weeks especially with Bean having his lung problem when he was born. So 10 weeks left! YEAH! I am so excited! I will post my 4D pict on here for those of you I am not friends with on fb! Sugars were great but my iron was a little low so he wants me to start taking an iron supplement. Go back in 3 weeks! Land- Yay, less than a week to go!!!!!!! I don't blame you for being nervous about having more than 1 baby in the room! lol
Hope everyone is doing well!
I have been enjoying my maternity leave. I have 13 more days to go until my due date! But it could be anytime I guess. My sister is coming Aug. 5th, so I have a feeling I make ask to induce if baby doesn't come by the 12th. Well see though! I swear any twinge I feel, I think this may be it!!!!! lol

dawndalebout - I had GD with my son. My diabetic nurse always said anything below 60 is too low. There were times I'd get a drop and I'd skip my insulin shots until I was back in a normal range. Is there anyone else you can ask to speak with since your Dr is out? An advice nurse maybe? I personally wouldn't take the morning pill if you are already low. I was at a high risk clinic so everyone there specialized in GD which made me feel so confident with the staff. The bottom line is you know your body best and you should do what your comfortable with.
Oh and my son weighed 7lbs 6.5ozs. but I did have a c-section but that's because he never dropped and I was stuck at 7cm for 5 hours, which is failure to progress. They also think he was facing my hip. So you never know!

I'm here!!!!!!!! :)
Just a LITTLE freaked out & excited..... I go back and forth!
I'm gonna be a mommy of 3 in 3 days!
I don't know why but I'm letting myself get all scared of the c-section. Back in the day, like even high school when my sisters were starting families I always thought..... I bet one day when I get pregnant, I'm gonna be all excited then one day it's gonna hit me that the baby HAS to come out.... like no choice- and I'm gonna freak out! Well, I"m doing it! It's tough b/c I'm so unbelievably miserable at this stage of pregnancy that I am really happy it's almost over... BUT it's not like instant relief. I'm gonna have a "scary" surgery (to me) and a tough recovery and tons of bleeding and grossness. I just canNOT wait until everything is back to normal with my body. It seems like forever that I haven't felt myself w/ my body and I'm excited to be "normal" again. The babies are sooo funny though. It's like they're really living it up in their last days. Gross- but I had a wake up poop and after they slept great all night, the second I sat on the toilet they started going NUTs. Like I've never felt them go so crazy. Can't mom even enjoy her morning poop in peace?
SHOCKER- I've officially gained 82 pounds. Hilarious how intimidated I was at the beginning of this pregnancy to have to gain the recommended SEVENTY! My knees are about to just give up and snap.
So how's everyone else holding up!?

land--82lbs?!?!? holy guacamole!!! maybe your babies will be even heavier than they are estimating. that was the case with my friend--they thought her baby was underweight but he was 6-something lbs.
that is so funny that your pooping woke them up! TMI question but have you had any hemorrhoids? i'm hoping i don't get any!!
try not to worry much about your c-section, i'm sure it will go great (saying this to myself too in case i have one!). i know someone that just had to have an emergency c-section and had to be knocked out, which totally sucks, but yours is planned and you will be awake to see those babies come out!! i'm sure the hospital will take great care of you. you probably won't even care about all that yucky stuff at the time because you'll be all about the babies.
can't wait to see pics and hear what the names are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, Land!
Just thinking of your family and praying for you guys on Tuesday. It will be so exciting! Of course you are nervous about the c-section. That is completely normal. You are going to do beautifully. Everyone has so many different experiences with their section, just like they do with labor. And you'll have your own to tell, soon enough!
You will lose that weight lickety split. You were a very tiny build before, and gaining that amount of weight is about what you can expect. If you think about the average woman gaining 25-30 pounds (at least) with ONE baby, just triple that. You have three separate amniotic sacs, three times the fluid, three times the weight, etc. And you have made it 35 weeks..that is a LOT of baby to carry around!
I'm feeling you with wanting my body back. I am 31 weeks now, and am so uncomfortable with two...I cannot imagine adding a third one into the mix. But as of Tuesday, you are going to be able to lay eyes on that baby. Overwhelming, yes, but also very exciting.
Thinking of you! Take care,
Melissa

Land, it's so exciting but scary at the same time! I was so worried about all of the grossness that came with delivery too, but honestly, once you see those babies, you won't even think about it. As far as your body returning to "normal", it may take awhile! I came home from the hospital 2 days after delivery and was only down 8 pounds, and Kelsey was 7 pounds! I was so freaked out that the rest of the weight was going to stick around, but it didn't. Now I only gained 32 pounds, but I'm already down 20. I can say this though, laying on my belly after was like heaven!

Land, you are so amazing! You're a legend around here, you know. Anytime I start a sentence with "One of the ladies on my boards. . . " my friends says, "the one with the triplets?"
I'm excited to see photos of your trio!

hahaha you guys are so funny!!!!! Do they also say "The one who's having triplets who just had butt sex for the first time w/ her husband and who's babies wake up when she takes her morning poop!?!?"
You guys are SO amazing for offering up the encouragement. IT REALLY DOES HELP!!!! My days and especially nights are so rough now that I'm getting SO READY. I am to the point where I pretty much cry every single hour of the night when I have to get out of bed to go empty my bladder. Something is now pinching a nerve in my back so I almost spill after standing up after laying for a while. On top of all else- my parents have like TODDLER sized toilets so I have to squat majorly low and pull up on a chair and sink when I get up after a pee or poop. Sometimes I'll be missing for a while and DH will come in there and be like "Are you OKAY!?" and I'm like "yea, it's just easier to sit here on the toilet in my poop smell, letting my feet swell to the max than pull up and risk a knee or hip snap."
Oh man- well thanks for letting me complain for a little bit... :)
Praises- On the hemmy's- I have IBS (the kind associated w/ constipation) and non-pregnant basically live w/ hemmroids everyday of my life!!! IDK how I got so lucky but I haven't had them at all except they showed up for a day or two last week. AND I've pooped at LEAST once a day this whole pregnancy. Must not be enough room in there for my poo to linger!

Land, you are a serious trooper! I can't believe it. I hadn't seen you post in awhile and I half thought you had gone into labor and were delivering :) Glad to see things are still going as planned. Hope you can suffer through these last few days, you are ALMOST there! Soon you will feel somewhat normal with your body again :) Lol to the babies waking up to you pooping. I can only imagine how hard it is to get up and down all the time. Hang in there! I can't wait for you to deliver and hear all about it.

Liz--lol, no, I didn't give them those details!!!! That sucks that you have IBS! What do you do to treat that? I've been really constipated a few times in my life, especially when traveling. I even had a CAT scan once because I had the weirdest feeling in my abdomen and then thought it was a kidney stone. CAT scan was clear, so then my Dr said try a stool softener..I took a laxative instead, not knowing the difference, and thought I was going to die! It seriously made me think, 'this must be kinda like labor'...lol. embarrassing though that I thought it was serious and I was just clogged up! Something similar had happened years before that and I had some kind of scan to check but they didn't find anything--that was probably the same thing. I had abdominal pain that made me double over. I've been kinda worried that I'd be constantly constipated while pregnant but luckily I've only needed a Colace a few times--I've been pretty regular too.
I think digestive issues could be related to PCOS. I know someone that must have IBS because she gets constipated/hemorrhoids often and recently I found out her AF has always been irregular. I wonder if she has PCOS. Anyway, she just read Taking Charge so I hope she gets an answer.

Mine is really irregular. It's the worst when I travel- pretty much don't poop all vacation/weekends that I'm away from home. A lot of it is mental. I WILL suggest that you take ONE stool softner a day to go ahead and avoid the constipation. Not pregnant, stool softners are too rough on my stomach so I pretty much just have to deal with whatever my body is doing.... this pregnancy, one a day has been a life saver. Even if you're mostly regular now, it wouldn't hurt to start. Unless of course it DOES hurt, and you're going too much! :) Also, of course stay on top of your water as that is a HUGE reason for constipation.
