View Full Version : Indianapolis get together...

01-24-2007, 06:20 PM
February 17h..which is a Saturday...I would assume that when you all would like to meet since it is a weekend. If not..just voice your opinion.
Now we need to decide where to meet. Since we are bringin our babies this can be kinda hard to do.
Terra suggested the Childrens Museum. For one adult the price is...$12.50...for ages 2-17 it is $7.50. Here is the website if you want to take a look. http://www.childrensmuseum.org/
If you have any other suggestions... go ahead and post them here. Then in a few day I will edit this into a poll.

Sounds awesome to me!!!!!!! Saturday is perfect and the Children's Museum sounds like a fun thing for the kids. Then maybe lunch or dinner later for the moms?

I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOO JEALOUS!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to go!!!
lol, it's too far for a Saturday drive for me.
Maybe another time we can plan a get together somewhere else, maybe by then we will have our beach house fixed up.

Did someone say beach house?
texasred1
01-25-2007, 10:18 AM
Yes I did. Not to take away from this post, and I was going to post on the mommies thread but... dh's dad & step-mom purchased a beach house 15 years ago (paid cash, got an awesome deal, right place, right time). DH's dad past away 3.5 yrs ago and since then the house has kind of been let go. There are back taxes owed, electrical work, roof work, paint, hot water heater needs replacing, boat dock repair and the place needs to be insured. All this time since dh's dad died dh had nothing to do with it, guess the memories were too much. Now he and step-mom have decided to fix it up and we will actively be using it as a family vacation spot. Oh yeah, and I know this just ain't talk this time 'cause dh went out and bought a boat.
So.... maybe the next get together can be at our beach house...

I LOVE the beach. Where is it red?? Will get my bikini packed
But, onto Indy -- where I will NOT be wearing a biking in February  .
Children's museum sounds fabulous. My SIL said it's wonderful. I think we might be going there a few times during our visit!! Saturday will work for me.
Terra -- how far are you from Indy?? I'd be happy to meet at your house, too. Whatever you're comfortable with.
My only obstacles are bad roads and naptimes :)
I'M SO EXCITED....

It's in Sargent, Texas. Which is no Key West or anything close to it, kwim? It's a little, lazy fishing/bird watching town. To tell you the truth, I've never even been there, only seen a couple of pics. Tracy, you are more than welcome to bring a bikini, I don't think I'll be bikini ready by the time it warms up
Jacque
01-25-2007, 03:24 PM
Dang- I feel like I have something that day...but I can't think what it is. I think I might be going to my parents' or something...anyway, I'll check. I think it would be fun to meet you guys in perosn, but kinda wierd at first too...don't you? It's like bring 2 separate worlds together...Ha!
Anyway, I'm about 45 minutes away from the Children's Museum, so let me know the time and stuff and I'll try to come...

I wish I could come. Hope you all have a good time though!

Hmmm, if it is on a Saturday... Could I bring my DH?? That would make the 5 hour drive much more bearable!!!
lisamarie
01-25-2007, 03:45 PM
I dont see why not..some probably will.
I think it will be hard to make an all day event sinec we all have little ones. SO like Pauly had kinda suggested.
Maybe we can do the museum earlier in the day..then later that evenin or whatnot either just the moms or moms and kids(even dhs if they want) can go to dinner. My mom lives 45min away so that wouldnt be that big of a deal for me.
Now watch one of my kids get sick. LOL! Im lookin forward to this and thats what will happen..or it will snow like a son of a buck!

01-25-2007, 07:11 PM

I won't have DH, because he's at the RCA Dome at that show, but I do think I'd have a sitter if we want to go out later without the kiddos. My SIL has three of her own already -- so I'm sure she wouldn't notice if I stuck in one more!!
What time zone are y'all keeping up with these days??

The Children's Museum is an awesome place to go. I have a friend who works there too, so I might be able to swing everyone a discount. Dinner sounds like a great idea too. John can watch Piper or something.
Tracy--we are on east coast time. We live in Fishers, but it's really only a couple miles away from the Indy/Fishers line. We can meet any time or if you get bored one day, you can bring Matt over for a play date ;)
tracy
01-26-2007, 12:24 PM
Oh, that sounds fun Terra.
I think my brother is in Eagle Creek...near the airport. How far is that from you?? Matt is going to fall head over heels in love with cute little Piper. :D
And, don't worry about a museum discount for me. SIL has guest passes since she's a member -- I'm already taken care of.
Terra
01-26-2007, 03:07 PM
Awesome about the passes :D
We are on the other side of 465 from your bro. It's a good 45min or so from the airport depending on traffic/time of day. You'd have to take 465 to 69 and then we are only about 5 miles away.
tracy
01-26-2007, 03:31 PM
Wow -- 45 minutes is nothing. Living in Atlanta has made me totally oblivious to traffic!!! Will have to exchange numbers soon and I may come up for a visit :D
Terra
01-26-2007, 03:34 PM
Sounds like a good plan to me :D Yeah, there is NO traffic in Indy compared to other major cities! As much as we hate it, rush hour really isn't that bad.
ok, you go ahed & pick the weekend i plan on having the baby! what fun this sounds like!!!! i wish i could come & meet everyone since i'm so close. promise to do it again sometime, please!!!! have tons of fun
and speaking of being from indy- how bout those colts ladies :) you know where i'll be feb 4- plastered in front of the tv! superbowl bound! :)

Yeah, I thought we were meeting at the Children's Museum. A time just had not been mentioned yet. What time?
Then afterwards lunch or dinner? Either way, I'll obviously have to bring Audrey with me!!!!!! :)
Terra
01-31-2007, 07:43 PM
We should get to the museum right when they open, which is at 10am and they close at 5. Since we are all taking babies, I assume no one wants to be there all day :) They do have a cafeteria where you can hang coats, store a packed lunch and eat. They also have an area where you can buy food & drinks. It is a fun place to go and you cannot see the whole thing in one day. They do have a special area for kids 5 and under which has age appropriate preschool activities. And if you wanna check things out before you come go to
http://www.childrensmuseum.org
lisamarie
01-31-2007, 10:21 PM
Terra-I think the area for the kids 5 and under is a great. I was kinda worried about everyone goin their separate ways and not really gettnig to visit and gettin lost in teh shuffle. Now that you brought up the area That is a great idea..not that anyone cant go look at other stuff..but it would be great lets say the first hour or two to be in that room so everyone can get aquainted and then after that others can venture off or some can leave to go rest so they can meet back up with the other for dinner that afternoon/evening.
I myself was hoping to take the girls with me..then driving them back to Martinsville for a nap or whatnot and then meeting you all for dinner. Havent decided whether or not to take my kids or leave them with mom.
I swear if we get teh Gingerbread house I REALLY want to have a get together/cookout at my house this summer..hehe you all could CAMP there around the pond! LOL! hehe ok...I know Im goin overboard..but we could still get together. hehe
Anyone bringin dh's? Im worried because other than Grape..Im the only one with two kids! I dont want you all to see how I cant handle them. hehehehe
Terra
01-31-2007, 11:22 PM
Yeah that area is great. Piper was obsessed with the duck pond :D So if we do dinner that same night, is that with kids? Obviously if Pauly comes she would have Audrey with her. John has band practice for the church sometime on the 17th so I don't know what his schedule is. Doesn't matter to me. Piper is good to come with or I can get someone to watch her.
lisamarie
02-01-2007, 07:44 AM
Terra....I think it would be fine for kids to go to dinner....but if some dont want to bring them...(ahemm...maybe me...hehehe) that is fine too.
Can you think of a kid friendly place to eat for all of us? Since we arent exactly sure who all is coming I guess we shouldnt make reservations? I dont know what to do about that. If everyone says they are coming..itw ould be
You, Tracy, Me, Grape, Mara, Pauly, Amy..cant scroll back any farther...did Jacque say she mighjt? Anywyas...if everyone comes then we for sure need reservations and especially if anyone brings their dh.

I will definitely not have DH -- he's busy at that show, so I don't think I'll be seeing much of him that weekend at all. As for Matt, I can leave him at my brothers (for dinner) or bring him ... just depends on when/where and what y'all are planning on doing. Will definitely have him at the museum -- the under 5 area sounds fantastic :D 10am should work for us.
Can you see the looks on the faces of the host/hostess if we entered a restaurant with ALL these ladies and ALL their kids. Classic

I'm just going to play the day by ear. I'll have to leave around 5 am (it's a 4 hour drive, but I'll have to stop for A to have breakfast, change diaper etc...) so I'm going to allow 5 hours.
Hang out with you guys, but then I'm driving home the same day.
I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone!!!!!

Hmmm... just thinking out loud here. DH has drill in Cincinnati the weekend you all are meeting up. Arianna and I are going to go with him, because I have a long weekend. I got to thinking isn't LM's RE in Cincinnati, so I check to see how close Cincinnati is to Indianapolis. It's only an hour and 13 minutes according to the Yahoo map. Arianna and I will be alone all day on Saturday while DH does his Army thing. If I could work it out would you all be up for an extra person. I hate to feel like I'm inviting myself though.
Leslie
02-02-2007, 09:07 AM
Correction... it says one hour 42 minutes.
tracy
02-02-2007, 09:26 AM
Okay, Leslie -- so you won't have to invite yourself: I'm inviting you!!!
I'd LOVE to meet you & Arianna. More ladies for Matt to flirt with, too :D
Don't worry Amy -- we'll make sure that there's a next time. With my brother living there, we'll probably make a few trips each year. Hopefully, not always in February

Depending on our OB and baby Kaitlin I may or may not be going with Ken to Chicago the first or second week of March for a business meeting if anyone wants to meet in chicago around then?!
Terra
02-02-2007, 06:39 PM
Yes yes, if you can come please do!
I'll have to think of a kid friendly place to eat. We really could go anywere, places around here are pretty good with kids. What kind of food do we want?
nopey
02-03-2007, 11:47 AM
Karen - if you come to Chicago in March, I'd be happy to meet up with you! :) You won't come if you're still prego though, will you?!?!?!? Since your high risk, that seems a little risky. However, there are some fabulous hospitals in Chicagoland!
I'm re-considering my plans. I may drive up Friday night now instead.........
wantingbabynumber2
02-03-2007, 12:14 PM
Pauly~ no definitely won't be there if still preggo. We are playing it by ear. Its not a long drive really for us but they are paying for his ticket and we have free tickets but with being possibly so soon after a birth not sure if I want to go nor do I want my baby on a plane I would want to drive. But I don't want to be stuck at home either alone. Its all just up in the air. Its a big deal business proposition so I REALLY want to be there too.
Terra
02-04-2007, 11:14 PM
Pauly--if you drive up on Friday night, where abouts in Indy are you gonna stay? Any ideas yet? I would offer you a room here, but all I have to give is Piper's hehehe at least there's a crib. There is a nice Hampton just a couple miles from our house. But we live a little northeast of Indy. I'm really excited for this visit :D Been meaning to take Piper back to the museum for a couple months now. And it's always fun to have a baby play date

I wish I could make it ladies, but that's the weekend of my Dad's 50th birthday party. I am his only child so there's no way I could miss it!
We definitely have to do it again though. I would love to meet up with you! If anyone's coming to Disney or Universal or Sea World I could meet up with you then! That would be a fun trip! Even though DS is a little young, mom still loves to go!

Terra
02-05-2007, 08:47 PM
Pauly--Carmel will be on the more expensive side. But I suppose Fishers wouldn't be too much cheaper. Either way you will be close to us. Do you have friends in Carmel?
nopey
02-05-2007, 10:34 PM
Nope, no friends in Carmel. My best friend used to have in-laws that lived in Tipton. She's actually been to the Children's Museum before. She suggested Carmel. I know nothing!!! I just said Carmel based on her suggestion. I haven't even gone on-line to price anything out or to see what is available. How far is Carmel or Fisher's from the museum?
I've been to Indy a couple times at the RCA Doma for Supercross (dirt bike motorcycle races), but that's it. We usually drive in/out the same day and don't stay when we go to the races.
Leslie
02-06-2007, 01:51 PM
I'm am SO excited to say I'm in!!! Talked to DH this morning about meeting up with you girls. I was worried about the car situation since he has drill, and I would need the car. He said it wouldn't be a problem. I will drop him off for drill and head to Indy. The instructors always go to lunch together and ride with someone who has a van, so he doesn't need a vehicle for lunch. I will probably have to skip out on dinner though. One Arianna is gonna need a nap and two I hate not to have dinner with DH since our trip was planned so Arianna and I could spend some time with him. KWIM?
Anyway I am so excited to meet you all. I have to admit I am a little worried that Arianna might show her butt or something   , but who knows.

02-06-2007, 01:59 PM
Leslie-OMG....I am freakin my kids are gonna be hellians! Especially gettin out to the city and goin somewhere like the museum. lol

Terra
02-06-2007, 06:27 PM
Leslie--Rock on! Don't worry about Arianna acting up. We are all bringing toddlers--there will be tantrums! LOL
Pauly--Fishers is northeast of Indy just a couple miles and Carmel is a few miles west of Fishers. It will probably take us like 30-40min max to get to the museum. I will take 69 to to 465 and hit Meridian from there all the way south. I would say stay in Fishers LOL but I'm partial to the area. And if you stay Friday night around here, we could always carpool to the museum if you wanted. Whatever works.
Tracy--I'm in...Piper shows her butt...she belongs to Leslie

Oh guys I would love to come! I have to work unfortunately though and it might be akward seeing as how I don't have a child to bring with me. I went to the museum in May last year. My lil' sis' took our foreign exchanged student from Taiwan. We had such a blast, but it was really just a photo op. We took ( ok I took ) over 150 pics. Most of them were April in the indy car b/c most ppl don't have cars in her little country. Anyway, I hope you guys have so much fun. :D

Ok, I just checked out a map. I'll be coming in on I-65. How is the Lebanon IN area? There is a Holiday Inn, not too far off the highway. That would be super easy..........
It looks like Fishers is just a stones throw from Carmel and both are much farther East.
Terra - If I'm going to meet up with you (or anyone else) on Friday night then I'm willing to drive the extra distrance. Can you give me some guidance please! THANKS!
If we meet for breakfast on Saturday, where - somewhere downtown?
Or should I just stay downtown?
Terra
02-09-2007, 04:35 PM
Pauly--I don't know much about Lebanon or I65 for that matter LOL Don't go that way very often. Yeah Fishers is outta your way to stay hehe Downtown Indy would probably be nice though.
Still not sure where to eat. They just did a piece on the news about some health violations in local restaurants. I have it recorded...lemme watch that and get back to you :) I am NOT good with downtown Indy at all, esp not alone hehe I get lost every time!
Tracy--I'm gonna pretend you didn't say that! ;) Well if we meet for breakfast beforehand you will already know what I look like and how tall I am (ya know in case you don't remember me from the pic thread) LOL Just look for Piper  There is a McDonalds right next to the museum if you were serious about that. Doesn't matter to me. I'm up for breakfast and dinner!
Terra
02-09-2007, 04:39 PM
Ok so I'm the only one who's DH will be around...do I bring him to the museum and dinner or do we want this to be a girls only thing (except Matt) He may or may not have band practice during our museum trip. Just curious since he would be the only one. I'm sure he's up for spending the day with a few hot cysters right?
Oh and I was thinking about making up some snack bags for kids. Good idea? Or does everyone just want to bring their own? Or we could bring stuff and share it. Just tossing around ideas. What are your kids' favorites snacks? Piper will literally eat anything (she ate a sticker this morning) But like cheerios, goldfish, pretzels...

I really have no idea, to be honest. NYC was awful. They lost our luggage, and I got mine back before she got hers back, and she had just gotten her BFN on her first IVF try, just a bad time altogether. I miss her alot, though.

well, i just took the first step in trying to fix our friendship..
ANNIEW
02-10-2007, 10:28 PM
i know it's different, but I had a BF since 9th grade. She and I were great, great friends, or so I thought. We were both pregnant with our first children together, and even delivered 13 days a part. She was there when I delivered DS and I was there when she delivered DD.
In any event, she did childcare in her home, and this is where my mistake began. I allowed her to watch Nicholas 3 days/wk. I have learned to never mix friendship with business. In any event, she got way too involved/controlling in my life and how I raise my son. She even accused my DH of being a bad father. Now, granted, I'm sure you can all agree about your own DH's, there are times my DH is not a good husband, but he has ALWAYS been a good father. I can never say anything bad about that. I guess DH gives into DS too much to her liking, and she labeled DH a bad father in her eyes. Don't we all know she is the perfect parental role model-after all, she did take a ton of childcare classes!!!
anyway, to make a long story short, she began not to like my DH, and in turn, ended our friendship. I was so upset by this b/c our friendship should not have ended, even if she did not agree with my DH. I know plenty of people that I think their DH's are a**es, but it doesn't mean I am not going to be friends with the person. Ya know? You just say sometimes, "Oh, your DH is such an a**"!!! We laugh, and that's all.
I think what it ultimately came down to is I was taking DS from her to put him in preschool. He was almost 3 yrs old, and she felt he shouldn't start preschool until he was 4. Again, this was my c hoice, I was his mother, not her. She got way involved in his life, as you can see.
It's just upsetting to me that she lives virtually around the corner from where I live, and we do not speak. I think it's sad that we were friends so long and it has come to this. I am even the godmother of her youngest daughter. I sent my goddaughter a bday present a few months after all htis happened, basically trying to mend things, and BF sent letter back saying not to send anything anymore...............
Sorry for the rant........I am sure this was the wrong thread to put this on!!
Just what Tracy was tlaking about go tme thinking of all this!

Well reading these stories makes me feel like the blow-up between my former bf/current sil and me is not all that uncommon ... and very similar in some ways to yours. I am still in so much pain about it, 7 years later, that I'm still not ready to get into it. But I want to thank you both for sharing and making me feel like this is a safe place if and when I can ever expose my heart to the hurt it creates to even talk about it. Love ya ladies!!!

When we meet, I think I'll give out a rebel yell and high fives all around  That oughta let everyone in the museum know that I'm not from there, huh???
McD's near the museum sounds good for me. I have no idea what my brother & his family are doing (they might take me/matt and go our separate ways)...and now they're in CO, so I cannot even ask to make plans. As you can see, we are TOTAL opposites
As for snack bags, that sounds like a wonderful idea. Matt tends to like snacks, although real food is still a struggle!! Maybe some peer pressure will help out. :?: If you'd like to make some, that'd be wonderful. :D He has no allergies, etc. Or, if we need to bring our own -- just let me know.
Favorites (today, anyways!!) are cheese crackers, animal cookies & reese's cups -- I know, Bad Mommy!! Oh, and he still loves dum-dums, but I don't think the museum would appreciate that :D

02-12-2007, 10:09 AM
I'm getting SO excited!!!
Did someone say there was a place at the museum to eat lunch? Are we going to try to eat lunch together?
Are you all going to try to do breakfast at McD's? Like I told Tracy I probably won't get there until 9:30 or so since I have to drop DH off at drill at 7:30. If you all are at McD's if you all are letting the kids play there until the museum opens.
I won't have a lot of snacks with me, since I will be coming from a hotel, but I always have Gold Fish. I'll be sure to bring enough to share.

Lisa---LMAO   I can totally see us doing that too!
And don't worry about me...I can probably bench press you!!!!!! I'm a lot stronger than a look.
Tracy--We are heading to the grocery tonight. I'll make up some treats and if you want them take them and if not that's fine too. Maybe we can get Piper and Matt into an eating contest (real food) LOL would that be enough pressure? To be outeaten by a 20lb girl!
Leslie--The do have like a school cafeteria in the museum where you can store/eat lunch. Across the hall they have place where you can buy food/drinks..I'm just not sure what's there. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do for Piper's lunch. Maybe (bad I know) just let her eat snacks until we leave. Might bring her some meat sticks and a can of fruit. I'll have a wide gerber selection.
tracy
02-13-2007, 08:50 AM
An eating contest sounds like a great incentive. Although, I'm pretty sure Little Miss Piper could win, hands down. Matt's got to be nearing 30 pounds and is tall (body, not legs).
He's definitely put together, but doesn't eat worth a darn  He likes meat and snacks, but veggies/fruit/sweets/bread/pasta are out of the question. I keep offering and hope that one day, he'll come around!!
We were at McD's the other night and there was a similar-sized boy running around with Matt. He was talking up a storm (very clearly), so I was feeling bad because when Matt does talk (not very often), he's very unclear. Come to find out after talking to Mommy, that the boy was 3 years old  . No wonder he spoke so well. He was a little guy, though...compared to Matt, even.
Thanks for the snacks -- if Matt doesn't enjoy them, I will :D

So do we wanna do McD's for bfast. Maybe meet there at 9?

Leslie--They probably have the highways and main roads cleared now. I'm going to work tomorrow so I will have a better idea about the other roads. I don't think we are expecting any more snow until late Sat. or Sun. The only problem now is blowing. But they have all plows and salt trucks out nonstop.

Hi Everyone-
It's almost time!!!!
I just made hotel reservations. I couldn't find a hotel in the downtown area (that had a pool) for under $250/nt. So, I'm staying at a Holiday Inn Express in Lebanon, IN. It's mostly North and a little west of downtown off of I-65. I thought a pool would be a fun thing to do with Audrey (she loves water) and we haven't gone swimming in awhile so I thought it would be a nice extra treat. I do have a maternity bathing suit  If anyone wants to meet us there to go swimming, just call me (everyone should have my cell # from my reply to Tracy's e-mail). I'm hoping to get to Indy around dinnertime. So, early evening, who's up for swimming?!?!?
9 am at McD's. Is it an obvious McD next to the museum or something like that?!?!?
How is parking in downtown Indy?
elsie
02-14-2007, 06:24 PM
I love your sense of adventure, Pauly!!!! You're a woman after my own heart .... now get over here and shovel already!!!!
Terra
02-14-2007, 07:37 PM
It should be an obvious McDonald's..ummmm they have the same address. I need to check and make sure the McD's isn't inside the museum. I know they have a Burger King inside, but I don't think McD's is. It must be really close.
Swimming sounds like fun. I have to work until 6 or 6:30 Friday night. We would never make there by bedtime after having dinner. Hope you have fun and enjoy the water though.
Parking downtown can be pretty busy, esp on a Sat. night. Depends on where you want to go. It will be cold, so maybe most people will stay inside. Still haven't come up with anywhere to eat. I'm up for anything. The children's museum has it's own parking garage. The museum is on 30th & Meridian. The garage as far as I can remember is on Illinois St. It runs parallel with Meridian. I'll have enough trouble finding it on my own  If you guys need directions the addy for the museum is
3000 N Meridian St
Indianapolis, IN 46208
Terra
02-14-2007, 09:56 PM
Ok nevermind about the previous McD's--it USED to be inside the museum. It's not there anymore. But we are talking about Mc Donald's here and of course there is another one right around the corner from the museum. It's off of 38th street--should be in between Illinois and Meridian. The museum is at 30th street so you will just have to go a couple blocks north. Here's the addy for the McD's if anyone needs directions :D
37 W 38th St
Indianapolis, IN 46208

DH isn't too happy that I made reservations in a town that I know nothing about. He would rather I stay downtown unless someone can tell me it is an ok area. Terra I know you said you didn't know anything about that area. Anyone else?
A guy that works for me has a BIL who lives somewhere in Indy. I'm going to ask him tomorrow.........
Wherever I stay, it WILL have a pool!!!!!!
Terra
02-14-2007, 10:26 PM
John says it's safe--just a little farm town. I guess we have a friend who actually has a farm there right off the interstate. I didn't realize that is where they lived. You should be ok there. I would think that would be safer than downtown Indy. Probably about 40 mins away from the museum.

02-14-2007, 10:34 PM
So, I talked with Terra on the phone tonight. Do I have a southern-accent??
DH says I don't, but he's from the same place I am -- so I think it's transparent to him  . It's when I talk to people outside of the SE, that I get "oh, you're from Georgia!!"
:D

02-14-2007, 11:08 PM
Pauly - I assume you're looking for a place with an indoor pool, right? After seeing Terra's photos of the blizzard I can't imagine swimming outside!!!!!
nopey
02-14-2007, 11:25 PM
Yep Kirsten - indoor pools only in the midwest this time of year!!! lol
I love the snow though. Elsie - if I wasn't prego and I lived closer, I would come shovel your driveway. I've done that for other friends before and they think I'm nuts. My one friend had just had carpal tunnel surgery and her dh disappear (literally) so I felt bad for her and went to her house to do it for her. She was really surprised when she got home from work!!!!
I'm all booked at the Embassy Suites in downtown Indy. They HAVE a pool!!! Anyone going to join us for a swim?
Terra
02-15-2007, 09:20 PM
You are a little closer now :D Sounds like a really nice hotel. I know they look good from the outside. I would love to come swimming, just don't think I'll get home from work in time. If you get a chance, let me know what time you are thinking. I might be able to convince DH to come.
Tracy--You DEFINITELY have a sweet southern accent. No doubt about it! hehe :D I wouldn't have pegged Georgia from that, but I'm not too good at guessing states. What did I sound like?

Hey there-
My original plan was to leave around 2pm to avoid rush hour in Chicago. However, that may or may not work now. My new computer is being delivered today. YEAH!!!!! The tracking says it will be here before 4:30 pm. So........I can't leave until it arrives. Fed Ex is delivering it and I don't know the FedEx guy's schedule. If it was UPS, I would have a better idea. Oh well. So.....I don't know what time we'll be at the pool.

I was still VERY undecided about goin this morning. We were runnin behind..but dh talked me into going. We went and got breakfast in Batesville and when we got on the highway I told Tim that we should look for West Virgina license plates since Leslie was to travel that road. Well then I ate..then I remembered again to look for those plates....I KID YOU NOT. As soon as I remembered I looked over and seen West Virgina license plates. So I had dh drive up beside her and IT WAS LESLIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LMAO! I was makin faces and pointin to myself mouthing the words..."Its me Lisa" Like she could really hear me! LOL! Ok..now my take on ALL of the girls... lol
Let me just say...Pauly knocked me off my feet! She oozed positive fiesty energy! She was radiant. I never expected her to be so outgoing..it was a nice suprise. Her baby girl was so good and sweet.
Leslie is gorgous. Shes kinda soft spoken..but when she got to talkin she couldnt hide that twain.. Arianna is such a mommys girl..it was sweet seein them cuddle. I give her and Pauly mad props for travelin alone like that.
Tracy...she is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay prettier in person. And she IS built like a brick sh!t house. Matt is so freakin funny I couldnt stop starin at him. I pictured Tracy with a deeper voice but she has a softer one. Her brother was there and I thought he was pretty cute. te he he
Terra...lets just say her and Tracy switched voices..I thought she would have a Minnie Mouse voice but nope..its deeper...Not like a mans..I just mean lower than Minnie Mouse. lol She is funny. And I picutered her MUCH shorter than she is. lol SHe brought AWESOME snack packs for the kids. Lucy talked about those all the way to my moms house.
Of course MY LUCY showed her a$$ right as we were leaving. I was so embarassed. Dh was VERY embarassed and she got her butt whipped.

I wasnt in the most pleasant mood today...LET ME TELL YOU WHY! lol I had sweat RUNNIN down my back. I was so freakin hot I thought I was gonna have a motherfloggin stroke! It was crazy hot in there. So when I get hot..I get quiet and try to get myself together. lol So it wasnt pleasant. hehe
I think it would have really been nice to have a meetin or get together in a lower profile setting. Lunch was so nice because it was laid back and we all were together. Through out the museum its hard to actually talk and get to know each other because there are too manyt hings to do.
Im REALLY tryin to talk dh into the one on the east coast this June. hehe Although I might fall in love with Elsie and put her in my pocket to take hr home with me. ehe

Hey Ladies --
Checking in from bro's computer. I was hoping to be the first on, but how did I know that Lisa would beat me to the punch  . I'll have to agree on her assessment of everyone (although, the "tracy is pretty part" is a bit much!!).
Now, for Lisa in person -- as sweet as can be. :D And, VERY pretty. She has big, blonde hair...a girl after my own heart :D . And, she exaggerates about PorkChop being difficult. Every time I asked PorkChop if mommy exaggerated, she'd give me a big, gorgeous smile and just giggle. She's a lot like her mommy.
We had a blast at the museum, although I have to think that my kid took the prize for being the worst-behaved  . He was everywhere -- into everything. I couldn't keep up and he's way to heavy to hold for very long. He was asleep before we left the parking lot!!
And, has been eating oreos all day long (thanks, terra!!!). A new favorite
Next time, we'll also need to work in some time for the hubby's to take the kids off and the girls can talk it up. Over drinks, preferably
Gotta run....love y'all :)

If anyone wants to come to St Louie in April/May and take the kids to the zoo and or butterfly house or science center lots to do around here. Let me know we can start arranging something. If anyone can bring air beds or sleeping bags they can crash on my living room floor but you will have to like our 2 chocolate labs and one calico cat! Oh and the two kids and DH.

Lol!!! This is so fun, even second-hand!!!!!! I'm voting for *not* the Boston Children's Museum, for the reasons Lisa mentioned ... I could hear how noisy it was just looking at the pics!! Although I'm sure the kids loved it ... lol!!!
As I said before, that time of June is the most perfect, gorgeous time of the year weather-wise in the northeast .... I can think of so many great outdoor spots where we could meet!!!! But that's just a suggestion ... and of course we'd need to have a rain back-up.
FYI: I'm totally willing to host all of you here and have a pig roast!! The only thing is: we're 90 mins. west of Boston (and I know that TracyR is going east to the Cape), and you'd all have to camp out b'c our house is so small, lol!!! But we do have plenty of land to camp out on ... we've had camp-out parties before.
But closer to Boston ... well there's Boston Public Garden, there's Walden Pond, Harvard State Forest ... chime in Boston ladies, I'm sure you've got lots!!!! Does everyone remember "Make Way for Ducklings"? They have a statue of the line of ducks behind their mom in Boston ... I'm picturing all the little ones sitting on a duckling!!!! And us moms could take turns sitting on the Mama duck, lol!!!

I agree about passing on the Children's Museum, Elsie. I'd love for us to be somewhere where the kids could have fun, but us moms could relax a little. I think the Public Gardens are a GREAT idea...we could have like a big pot-luck picnic type thing, with the kids playing outside...there's the swan-boats...and the frog-pond over in the Commons...lotsa fun!!

Ok here come my pics from yesterday
It was soooooooooooo much fun! It really was like we've known each other all of our lives. I hope we can do it again sometime.
I think Lisa was right on for the most part :D Dont' know where this minnie mouse voice for me came from though! She did tell me that I was taller than she expected, so that made my day LOL She was exactly as I pictured her--SASSY and full of energy. Lucy is a spittin image of her too--attitude and all. Tim was very nice and funny. And Porkchop was such a handful that she didn't cry once the entire time hehe
Leslie wins with the biggest southern accent  She was really nice and very sweet too! Arianna is as cute as all her pics! She's so smart too! I can't believe how much she knew. Piper and Arianna had fun dancing and playing music.
Tracy is 2nd in line with her Georgia accent! And her brother wasn't bad looking LOL He was really friendly too. Tracy and I had a lot of laughs. Matt is just a ball of energy! He was all over the place. The only time he held still was when we were eating :D And yes I have turned him on to Oreo cookies. Piper was flirting with him big time. She was even petting his gorgeous curls at one point.
Pauly was shorter than I expected LOL She has a couple inches on me, but I was expecting all of them to be really tall :) She is most definitely a beautiful, glowing preggo! She had a lot of energy too! Audrey was just the sweetest baby. As soon as she met us, she was waving and smiling. She was all over the place too. She must like me a lot! I think I carried her around as much as Piper. And man Piper was really jealous of that haha

Hey Ladies-
This is the first time I've been online since I left on friday. 426 emails still to go through/read/delete. I wanted to check in here first.
AUDREY AND I HAD A BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was sooooooo awesome seeing you ladies. I loved meeting all of you and your families!!! Terra's right, it was like we've known each other forever.
As soon as Terra walked in the door, I knew it was her! :)
Everyone was super nice (not that I expected otherwise!!! :) ) I wouldn't have made the trip if I thought it would be a bust. The kids all loved the museum. I'm very impressed with it. Audrey, my BF, her dd and I will definetely be going back for another visit there. It's soooo big, we didn't even get to see most of it! I liked that we met there.
Audrey just loved Terra. She couldn't keep her hands off of her. Poor Terra was holding both girls for awhile. Audrey's heavy too! It was nice of John to come and take pictures. It's so great to have names/faces/personalities to match. Terra, your voice was different than I expected, but I didn't expect Minnie Mouse! lol Terra made these awesome goody bags for all the kids. Wow, that was really nice of you! Extra sweet and special. Audrey loved munching on the oreos. We are still working on the other treats. There were so many in there!!!
Tracy - you are a doll and very pretty. Much taller than I expected. Don't know why on that one! It was great meeting your brother (and his family). Matt is such a ham - very outgoing!!!!! Matt playing in the water was a stitch! He definetely likes water!!! You definetely have a lot to keep up with with him! :) Love his curls!!!!! I didn't really think you had that much of an accent. Tracy was chasing Audrey for awhile too while I stayed with the stroller. She's an active little girl! Sorry I didn't get to say goodbye to you! Audrey wandered out of the Clifford exhibit and I kinda wanted to see how far she would go without stopping. She went all the way to the dinosaur exhbit where the guy was teaching the kids how to draw dinosaurs. I couldn't believe it!!!!! I had to carry her out of there with her kicking me. She didn't want to leave. I guess I just missed you when you went to say goodbye to Terra and Leslie.
Leslie had much more of an accent that anyone else (I thought). She is such a sweet person! Her adorable diaper bag was filled with lots of goldfish in a variety of containers that entertained Audrey and Piper. It was so cute! I'm so glad you made the drive!!!!!!! Arianna is a sweetheart. I couldn't believe she fell asleep on your shoulder. That is so not something Audrey would do (although sometimes I wish she would).
LM - You are a beautiful lady and I'm glad that Tim made you come meet up with us. Thanks Tim!!!!!!!!! I love your hair. It's awesome. Your girls are adorable and Emma never even made a peep! Although Lucy got sassy at the end, it didn't bother us - stuff happens. No need to be embarrassed at all - she's a kid and she was probably tired. I felt so bad for you with that heavy sweatshirt. I was dying from the heat with just a cotton 3/4 length sleeve top on. It was an oven in there - no question about it. Even though you weren't the most comfortable, it didn't show to us at all.
Terra, Tracy, Leslie and Lisa - I'm so glad that we all got to meet one another. I already feel closer to you and I'm so happy to have this forum! You are all wonderful beautiful ladies and your kids are all adorable!!!!
I'm already looking forward to the pics from the Boston get together. I definetley won't be making that one as I'll just have had baby #2.
Now my ETA for my computer is Tuesday. Once I get it set up, I'll post some pics too.

Emma was good..but she was drunk. heheh J/k. I LOVE LOVE Audreys hair. SHe is so cute.
DH b!tched all the way to my moms house how I need cooler clothes because I act all werid when Im hot. lol I told him I cant find clothes that dont hug my rolls. hehehe
I agree...Leslies diaper bag ROCKED! I would love one like that..its beautiful.
Oh Leslie..you remind me and my dh of this friend I had back home. Although you fix yourself up and look prettier...but your mannerisms and features are like her.

Well, here I am the last to post. We're still in Cincinnati, so I don't have pics downloaded yet. Hopefully I will get to work on that when we get home tomorrow.
I have to say I am SO glad I made the drive. I had almost talked myself out of coming, because of the snow. The snow and the fact that I was running an hour later than I wanted and I only had 3 hours of sleep really had me thinking I should stay in Cincinnati. Like I said I'm so glad I didn't.
First off Lisa to say I'm gorgeous... I think you better go see your eye doctor. I really appreciate the compliment though. You yourself are a beauty (I too love your hair). I can't believe you worry about the way you look. You really are beautiful, so is your family (DH is a cutie). Emma was a doll. I too never heard a fuss or a cry... just those beautiful eyes and that sweet, sweet smile. Lucy is a looker too. Don't worry about her melt down at the end... all kids have them. I'm sure she was just tired and hot. I'm so glad you decided to come.
Oh yea, it was hiliarious when Tim and Lisa pulled up beside of me on the highway. I looked over and here was this blonde waving like crazy. At first I though... who in the world is this person and then I realized. I was so glad to be able to follow them in. I was nervous about finding the place. When we got there the girls were asking is the roads were bad. I kinda looked at Tim to see what he said. He indicated they weren't bad, but I was thinking... heck yea they were bad. Shows I'm not used to driving on much snow.
Tracy does have the sweetest voice. She is build just like Lisa said. You'd never know she had a 9+ pound baby if you did see him with her. Matt is full of energy. He wasn't bad, just on the go. I missed him playing in the water, since I was late. And what do you know... his mommy wouldn't let him back in when Arianna and I got there. Later I saw her with his shirt and I realized why. His shirt was soak and wet. He and little miss Piper hit it off. I have a pic of Piper patting his curls. His hair is even cuter in person. Oh yea Tracy does have georgous hair. I can't get over how different Tracy and her brother look, but his is as cute as she is pretty.
I knew Terra was short, but I just didn't realize how short (no offense). She is just as cute as can be. Piper is teeny tiny too. I never realized in her pics how small she is. I felt like Arianna was a giant next to her. The treat bags that Terra made were so sweet. My kid was sleeping while the others were enjoying them, but she is enjoying now. I'm have to agree that your hubby is a hottie. He seems real sweet too. Piper and Arianna did have a good time dancing and "playing" music together.
Pauly was probably the most different from what I expected. She has a beautiful head of hair and is a beautiful pregnant girl. It fits her well. I though she would be more soft spoken, but she was very out going. Audrey has the most georgeous eyes and hair (to match her mommy). Pauly amazes me at how she handles Audrey and keeps up with her being 20+ weeks pregnant. I have no idea where she gets her energy, but she has a ton of it. She is going to be great with two little ones.
I'd have to say my kiddo was the worst. Here we are at lunch and all the little ones are sitting either in highchairs or their strollers. Arianna sat long enough to eat a little, but then she was done (told you all we have issues with her sitting for long). I could have tried to make her sit, but it would have been a big scene. Once I got her out of the highchair she did climb up on my shoulder and go to sleep though. Whoever said she was a mommy's girl (Lisa?) totally hit the nail on the head. By the time I got home my muscles in my left arm hurt from carrying her around. All in all she was pretty good though.
The museum is an awesome place. It was crowded and I wish we could have had more time to chat, but it was a great place for the kids. I can't wait to post pics of Piper, Audrey and Arianna climbing the stairs to the second floor.
And yes, I'll admit my twang was probably the worst. I hate it, but it is what it is. I try to hide it if I'm only talking to someone for a short time (like at work), but if you're around me long you will certainly hear it. I didn't even try to hide it. Oh yea, I guess I was probably the quietest too. You know how I said on the thread that we told about our personalities that I was shy until you get to know me, well I think that was pretty apparent. Sorry if I seemed to backwards. My biggest fear is saying something stupid. I guess that means we just have to get back together, so you can see me come out of my shell. :D
Well, I could go on and on (and have), but I need to hit the hay. I'll post some pics as soon as I can. Love you girl and glad to be part of this wonderful PCOS group!

We actually have one, well it was dh's father's & step-mom's. After dh's dad passed away 3-4 yrs ago the place was kinda let go. Now dh & his step-mom want to get the place in tip top shape so we can use it for family vacations, fishing and just a place to get away (it's paid for!). So currently we are getting estimates for things like the roof, a/c, some electrical, etc. Then a fresh coat of paint and we're good to go! It's in Sergent, down by Port O'Connor.

Hey Michele-
Yep, I remember you saying that. She's not originally from Friendswood (she's from Chicagoland), but her dh was born/raised in Friendswood. I've visited her house in FW twice now, but I don't know the area at all. She always picks me up at the airport so I have no clue where I am when I am not driving. I get all turned around.
Elsie - Ya know. I have no clue if I have any pics of Tracy's bro. I still haven't looked at my pics because the software for my camera is not on this laptop. I'm waiting to set the Mac up. Hopefully tomorrow or Thursday.....we'll see what happens.

Yeah, I've gotten that alot. My brother can be a total pain in the a$$ sometimes, but he's pretty good looking. Am I allowed to say that?? And, he's very social...he's an entrepreneur-type (like Pauly) that could sell glasses to a blind man!! I'm the quieter, reserved one...I like to meet up and get together with people, but I'd never be the one to be loud and draw attention to myself (purposely, anyways!!)
If nobody else came up with a picture, I'll try to find one to post.
It's just his way of life is quite different than what I'm used to. His kids are basically brats, the house is filthy and it's just complete chaos. I'm used to quiet, clean places with a happy family life. Different strokes for different folks, I guess...
Okay -- am I the only one that wasn't hot at the museum?? I was fine and was wearing my (only) turtleneck. Maybe it was because I was so wet from Matt's splashing in the water exhibit!! So glad Terra was able to stand in front of me in the pictures, so y'all wouldn't see my wet shirt
I was going to make a confession and have you guys laughing, but not with the kids/hubbies around. I had on thong-underwear and my butt-cheeks were just frozen. Not a good idea to wear those in the winter in colder climates -- esp. under wet jeans. Who knew!?!
I LOVED Leslie's accent. I thought it was perfect. I wouldn't hide it for anything!! Mine is so diluted by living in the city, I guess. Oh, I hope Matt has an accent. Nothing cuter than a little kid talking with a southern accent
And, thanks for the body-compliments. If you'd seen me in May '05 with my HUGE belly, you'd for sure believe that I had a 9-pound baby
Yes, Matt was in love with Piper. Will post my favorite picture of the two of them. But, thanks Terra -- now all he wants is Oreos. I cannot pass the vanilla cookies by him anymore, because he wants the cookies from the blue bag!! You're responsible for his chocolate-addiction (as if he wouldn't have picked it up from me!!)
And, Leslie -- I think the ONLY reason Matt sat at lunch for so long (isn't really like him, either) was all of the "scenery" of pretty girls at the table.

I, on the other hand, look nothing like my brother. I'm tall, blonde wavy hair with blue eyes and fair skin. He's shorter (6-foot is short in my family), olive skin, dark brown eyes and dark brown, straight hair. We couldn't be more opposite -- looks and personality.
He's the spitting image of Mom and I'm of Dad (it's actually amazing how much Matt looks like my Dad, even). Will see if I can find a picture of them, too!!

I didn't even read about their careers -- just looked at pictures of hotties. How's that for a one-track mind??
Thanks, LM -- he does have a side that's a great personality. He's really smart, too...so that's what's gotten him where he is in business. I guess that's why I really don't understand why his life is in such shambles. I hope they work things out soon, cause things tend to get worse if they're not addressed!!

Thanks Tracy!! You're good for my ego!! Coming from a beautiful southern belle like yourself, that means a lot .... :D
Leslie == be proud of your accent. It's what gives people roots and a story. My mom still has hers and she wishes it was stronger ... if she gets a good scare it comes out!! I think it makes women sound lady-like and fun! And I agree with Tracy ... nothing cuter than a kid with a southern twang ... except maybe a British accent! My cousin's kids have those.
