To everyone out there, I want to let you know about what has really helped me. I found out that I have a Vitamin Deficency, So I started taking supliments. I went a year and a half without peroiods and then 6 months and then 5 months. So all together I have not had many on my own other than when I am on Yasmin.
Anyways, I started taking Vitamin D and Calcium and drinking milk with my other supliments and I have had to regular periods on my own. I did some research and they are saying that this has a lot to do with pcos and it stratens it out.
I would suggest to get your Vitamin D tested, it honestly was a miracle for me because I am having periods.

While finding out I had a Vitamin D deficiency didn't help my periods it did help me with weight loss and energy as well as with my bleeding gums. I agree with shell, ask your doctor to run your levels next time you have blood work drawn. There is a link between PCOS and Vitamin D deficiency and it makes a huge difference!

That is interesting that it made you lose weight, I am gaining weight lately, but I am wondering if it has something to do with having periods again, Since I am still taking my metformin and watching what I eat.
I am sorry to hear that it did not help you periods. I cant believe that it has helped, me, I think it is something so simple that the doctors did not find for years since I was diagnosed in 2007.
Any thoughts on Iron Deficency because I have that as well?

I have read about the link between Vit D and PCOS too. I just recently (last week) started to take an extra Vit D pill in addition to my other supplements. I don't cycle on my own either (well, a few times) but normally not. Iron deficiency could possibly be connected. I got turned down once for blood donation b/c they said my Iron was slightly lower than the acceptable range. that was an isolated incident though. I had iron checked since then and it was in the lower end of the "normal" range. Also, if you have a blood test done during or immediately after your period, it can throw off your results a bit. Thanks for the info. I'm going to have Vit D checked at some point in the future.
Does the metformin regulate you? could be that's helping your cycles too! :)

I dont think it is the metformin because I have been on it since 2007 and on the highest dose of 2000. Will being on it i have gone a year and a half without a period and just recently, 5 months.
I really think it has alot to do with the Vitamin D. I think it is crazy how something that simple can help that much.

That's great shell! I'm glad it's helping you. I've been taking it for a couple weeks now so we'll see. And it is really crazy how simple things can help so much!

I have been vit d deficient for over 5 years. It took a holistic dr to ask why I was never treated for it. I am currently taking 50,000iu to get back to normal. I started at 19 and last blood results was 21. I also found out if you are vit d deficiency it can make you hyper allergic to foods and such that you were never allergic to. So even though it is going to take a few months to get backto norm I am feeling more energetic and I am starting to train for a 5k! I have a question: has anyone heard of a herb called myomin? This holistic dr recommended it and it is considered an estrogen blocker and is suppose to help restore hormone balance. Would love to know if anyone has heard/tried it as well. Thanks!!

That is crazy how long you had it for. I think I had it for a long time as well. I feel alot better taking it and happier as well as it is suppost to be for moods. I am wondering are you having more regular periods due to taking the viatmin D. Cause i went from having no periods not knowing why to 45 days apart, which is more regular than I have ever been. i have never heard of the herb but I am definately going to research it.

I haven't noticed any period changes yet but maybe because my levels were so low and slowly they are getting back up there. I hope they get better because right now they are about 49 days apart and it stinks!
