Sitting up

How old ws your child when they were able to sit by themslves?
Not trying to compare but just trying to get a feel for a range?

Matt was sitting up at Christmas, so he would've been a little over 6 months.

A was about 6 months old.

Arianna was about 6 1/2 months old when she would sit tripod style by herself and shortly there after she could sit normal by herself.

Kallie was about six months old. She was just getting the hang of it when we got her home.

Bella- Mason is ready to sit up yet, heck I'm still working on rolling, but I thought I'd share this with you. When MIL was here during the holidays dh asked her when he started walking and she said 6 months! :roll: I wasn't privvy to this conversation, but I told dh, "Hon, I don't doubt you were a gifted child, but you weren't walking at 6 months."

Now I have heard of potty training that young. In fact at my OB's office there was some video playing about how to do that with your baby!

Well maybe now in days..but that was 34 yrs ago..there is NO WAY. Can you tell Im bitter towards MIL? lol

Ava is just starting to stay up for a few seconds by herself without tipping over. She is so excited about this! :D

Hehe, I had to go look in my journal because I couldn't remember. Terrible mommy brain. Willow was around 5 1/2 months.

Mike's dad tells me that Mike was walking, talking and potty trained at 9 months. I call bullsh!t on that one!

There is a way to potty train babies from birth but it more of parent training to read the signs and all.

To get to the point here, Gavin was sitting right at 5 months. I took him on the 27th of Oct. to get his Halloween pics and he had just started sitting and he turned 5 months on the 31st.

Piper started sitting up the week after she turned 5 months. She sat up early, but that's the only thing she did really early. She just didn't like laying down all that much I guess :D

Emma can sit up for short periods now. I think she's going to learn to crawl before really learning to sit up! That kid can't sit still. Lord help me once she figures it out. :roll: :wink:
