Met all at once or 3 times a day?

Just curious what other people are doing. I was taking met 1500 mg all at once with dinner, had minimal side effects but still had daily spotting and no period after having one on day 2 of meds.

Now with spreading out the dosage 500 mg 3x/day, the side effects are worse (diarrhea 3x/day) but the spotting is gone.

What are most of you doing? All at once or 3x/day?

It depends what you're taking. If you're taking the extended release (XR) then you take it all at once. If it's the normal met then you MUST spread it out throughout the day as it doesn't stay in your system long. To minimise the effects try to take it with food (or with milk) and avoid too many simple carbs like white bread.

I think it tells you to leave at least 2 hours between doses if you aren't on XR, but double check the information packet.

I am on three 500 mg XR pills/day.
I take 1 with breakfast and 2 after dinner.

I don't notice any side effects any more unless I eat a lot of processed carbs or lettuce (not sure why on that one).

I take 1000mg and it is not the XR. I take 1 in the morning and the other at night.

I'm also on the extended release, 2000mg a day, and take half at night and half in the morning. Never tried it all at once.
