In order for me to get my PCOD under control I had to consumeno more thatn 800 calories per day. After over a decade of experimenting on my own body (needless to say doctors experimented on me too), and much reading of scientific data, I found that a NMDA receptor blocker made me feel well and restored my cycles. I went to walgreens and got Delsym syrup, its non rx and its in a polystyrex form. Both calorie restriction and taking dextromethorphan are not well recieved by family and friends, although i did this alternative thereapy under the supervision of my endochrinologist. People with PCOD have to live a very very restrictive lifestlye in order to maintain a normal life and most people do not understand that, but if you have PCOD you KNOW you got to do what you got to do to get rid of the condition.
Dextromethorpahn inhibits insulin secretion by blocking NMDA receptors and it also helps a person just starting to consume under 1000 caloroes a day not feel like they are starving until thier stomachs get used to only consuming that amount, yes you have to train your stomach not to want food and make it maller so it doesnt want so much food. I also did the gym 3 times a day 1-2 hours a time.
Within 2 months of dextromethorphan I lost 45 lbs, gained lots of muscle, got my periods back and got pregnant..Im 34 years old and will give birth in APril to a healthy girl. It wasnt about gettign pregnant thoug, it was about getting my body under control, to get normal cycles is to hav e anormal life!
I do not suggest you take dextromethorphan before work or certainly not while you are pregnant!!! I do suggest you give it a try, it is not as damaging to your body as other drugs the doctor will experiment with, and it will help you get soem control over your body as I found...soemtimes you have to go out on a limb and try something new and see if it works, and if you want soemthign bad enough- like getting this PCOD under control you must work very hard, harder than the regular person to maintain full control over your body at all times. I found that becasue most peopel dont understand that they will judge and it just makes things worse..women with PCOD know that they are almost on their own with this condition- nobody knows what to do inteh medical community, so take it fromme, I have been experimenting with myself since I found I had it at age 16 and I finally found what works- and its at walgreens for about 12.00 a bottle!
