Hi everyone, if you've been reading the TTC thread, you know that I may possibly have LUFS. I will know for certain at Tuesday's u/s if my over 25mm follie doesn't break free. I've done a little research on the boards and my doc talked to me about using an HCG trigger next cycle if it is LUFS. I guess I'm looking for additional info and personal stories from anyone who also has this diagnosis.
I read that it is more common in women with endometriosis, which I have. One sight explained that LUFS may even cause endometriosis. It stated that because ovulation does not acutally occur, the progesterone that is produced by the corpus luteum is not spilled out into the peritineal cavity. The progesterone counteracts the estrogen and menstral "back wash" and without it, endometriosis is allowed to grow. I'll get the link, I'm sure they can explain it better. ...
But I'm wondering if PCOS itself can acutally cause that not only LUFS. I've always had irregular cycles. When I started charting I found that most of the were anovulatory. So my theory is that I would have had the menstrual "back wash" (sorry, can't think of the technical term right now), and would not have had progesterone developed due to the anovulatory cycle to couteract and prevent the endometriosis. I'm searching for anything that will give me hope that it's not LUFS and that this cycle may still work!! Anyway if my theory is the case though, then there should be a larger link between PCOS and endometriosis, which my doctor said there is not. He said that one does not necessarily cause the other. Although I find it very interesting that PCOS causes estrogen dominance and endometriosis is obviously very effected by the estrogen.
Any info would be greatly appreciated!!
