Hi - I signed up Ava for waterbabies/baby aquatics starting in 2 weeks. I have the Little Swimmers disposable swim diapers. For those of you who have done this before, what is the etiquitte? Does she need an actual infant bathing suit or is just the diaper okay for a 6 month old? And if a swimsuit is needed, suggestions for finding them during the off-season?

Like I said, I don't know what the etiquitte is -- I wouldn't want Ava to be the only one there in just a swim diaper! I'm calling it a late Christmas/Hanukka present.

I'd keep her in a suit since most pools are not as warm as they could be. The only etiquette I know of is they have to be in the swimming diapers.

just wanted to chime in about swim diapers. turns out they only hold in the solid part of poop. They can be wrung out in the swimsuit spinners and reusied and even chucked in the washing machine a few times to extend their life. Good news is they aren't that expensive, but hard to peel off a wet wiggly baby, so most people rip them off and throw them away at the end of class.
Have fun! We LOVED swim time!

Like someone mentioned - the diapers only hold poop - so expect a leak if she pees before you get in the water!
We had A in shorts too - helped in thos explosive poops moments to keep it all in his diaper. :?
Have fun!

I LOVE IT! Ava was kind of poker faced through it, but was not scared and was game for everything we tried in the class. She was also the youngest one there. Cannot wait to go back on Sunday! It's our first "mommy and me" activity.
I did end up returning the Gymboree suit b/c I found one at the Old Navy store (not online) that I liked better for only 12 bucks.
Congrats on your daughter -- hope you are feeling well!

Thanks Sherri~ I absolutely cannot wait to start doing mom and daughter activities, I've been looking forward to this my whole life!! haha
As for how I'm feeling, well, I haven't had a major gallbladder attack in about a week now *knock on wood*, I had some minor ones, but nothing to bad. I'm still hoping to get it removed, I'm waiting on the stupid hospital to call me for an appointment, I have been waiting over a week now. But, I'm starting to wonder if now since it isn't so bad if it would be ok if I waited till she was a little older to have it donw...anyway, thanks for asking!
