Just curious for those who remember from being pregnant what signs you had prior to going into labor if any. I was induced with DS so I never experienced much.

One friend of mine had no warning, woke up at 2am, baby had dropped and and hour later her water broke and plug came out, so obviously everything all at once.

Just wondering how common it is to have prior warning. I had contraction 6min apart for over an hour 2 nights ago but nothing since. I know that can happen at any time though.

Delia- My ds just turned 1, so I still remember. I woke up at 9:30am with a back ache. I have a big chest so that was normal for me, so I didn't think anything of it. Then about 10 minutes later I went to the potty and when I wiped I was wiping blood. I had none in my underwear so that was the first sign that got my attention. Within 30 mintues we were on our way to the hospital (I had two miscarriages prior so bleeding freaked me out, didn't think about bloody show...Duh me!) (Plus I was two and a half weeks early), and when I got there I was having little contractions. I was 3 centimeters and they admitted me and 9 hrs later I had my little man.
Hope it happens for you soon, you must be getting anxious!

I thought that I was going to go into labor for about 5 weeks before I ended up having him. He was so huge and putting pressure on everything that I was in so much pain. I was having contractions if I sat in a reclined position. I was dilated 2cm for weeks but that didnt change until I went into labor. I kept losing pieces of my mucus plug and then the BIG part of it came out and that was so nasty but it wasnt long after that that I went into labor on my due date go figure. All of the other signs that I read and had like dropping came way before I went into labor.

Oh yeah one thing that was a sign for me was that I stopped gaining weight and then lost a lb or two.

My water broke both times at home ... but was not in active labor (no contractions). Both times I got to the hospital, got into a gown, started contractions, went from 3-10 cms. and had babies in 45 mins -- 2 hrs. from membrane rupture to birth. Only difference was that I had ds1 2 days before due date and ds2 17 days before due date. Maybe you'll be as lucky as I was!!! :D

Bet you're getting excited now!
