so i know this probably sounds silly but here it goes . . .

how can you tell BH from movements? My tummy is very tight all the time and it seems like I am having BH but then i look down and my belly is bouncing all around. I am a tall slender girl to begin with so it feels like i notice every movement. Every movement makes my belly hard so i am can not really tell the difference.

Any advice?

I think if it goes away when you change positions then it's movement.

I had what I thought was Anna's butt always poking out under my rib cage...turns out it was BH.

I can't tell the difference.... the BH I was getting I thought was the baby moving and stretching my stomach.
The only way I can somewhat tell is by placing my hand on my belly & if my hand moved then I knew for sure it was the baby

When I get BH contracts, the baby doesn't move. My lower half gets extremely hard. I had seriously 2 hours worth last night and they were every 5 minutes apart. I almost went to the hospital. Freaked me out. But I got in the bathtub last night and drank about 4 glasses of ice water, then they subsided.

My dr said if the baby doesn't move for a while, it's probably BH. And I should drink lots of water. If the contractions subside with water, it's BH. If not, it's going to be the real thing.

mel, i can tell if i touch my tummy and baby isn't moving. it is an intense tightning that lasts longer than a few seconds. if it comes and goes quickly, it is likely movement.
