Hello! Not to worry :) i have hair in them exact places to. It can be upsetting but there are some really good ways to prevent it. Im on the dianette pill which has made dramatic improvement over a year and in another year it may make the hair completely unnoticeable i hope! But for now i use veet facial hair bleach, which is really good and gentle for skin on your face and chest and wherever really and its effective :] also cool waxing strips for the face are good and can be used on your tummy or anywhere needed aswell :] hope thats of some help! Love Alicia xx

 I have the same symptoms. I find it really depressing and even though peole don't comment very often i feel like they're looking at my face and arms and judging me for it. I get my mum to wax my lip and chin and sometimes my back, although i find it easier just to use hair removal cream on back and bum.

You mentioned the dianette pill, although i got diagnosed with this last year i'm not really sure about all the possible solutions to help reduce symptoms. :?

I've just orded a diet book specifically for PCOS and im about to start following it so i'll let you know how it goes.

Going on these pills worries me, i really dont want side effects, are there many??? Especially weight wise, I'm a size 10/12 (british sizes) but im constantly on a diet to stay that way. I know if i put on weight it will depress me more and just add to my problems.

I'm feelig really depressed about all these side effects lately (spots, hair, weight, mood swings, the list goes on..) so decided to join this sight.

Im sorry this is a huge comment and a bit of a moan. But any help, tips or advice about treatment for any side effects would be great.

Thank you :)

banoffeepie - I know you are feeling really down right now, i have hair everywhere too... So i know how much of a confidence killer it can be sometimes! I started getting dark hairs when i was 13-14 years old and unfortunately not much (medication wise) has helped me. I use jolen to bleach my hairs, i find this is very good for a temporary fix. I wax my chin and top lip, this can give me spots but i'd rather have spots than a beard  Keep your chin up lovely!

Id like to let you know that when it comes to weight, there is nothing wrong with it. Firstly it is beautiful to have curves and be volumptuous and it is a sign of being womanly. Accept your body and love it. Secondly it is not unhealthy if you gain weight, if your body does thats just in your genetics if it doesnt thats how its meant to be aswell. All the health lies you hear about weight are backed up by alot of money and hatred. (i have reasearched this ALOT aswell as my own common sense) If you are already gorgeously, healthily curvacious like myself you can still be extreamly healthy and BEAUTIFUL for one. Like me. I discovered that i dont actually have pcos properly anymore, just a hormone inbalance thats been found out to be inherited. And you know what? I have gained weight, purposly even and i am much more beautiful and healthyand proud and proved the steriotypes wrong. This is fact, not fiction. So girls, dont worry if you gain weight, accept it and love it, you only have one life, live it happy. If you choose to loose weight so be it, but the truth is, dieting is self harm.. and i recomend you look up books such as 'Fat! So?' and 'Fat chicks rule!' ,you'll find them if you wish, amoungst other size acceptance books, they have alot of facts in that people need to know. take care x

It is sound advice to accept yourself, and be you; but if you are very overweight, and especially, that extra weight is very hard on your skeletal structure, and can lead to problems later in life. Also, if you have abdominal obesity, and/or have a large chest, this makes your heart work that much harder, and have an increased risk for cancer.

It isn't the end of the world being overweight or obese. If you want to work at attaining a healthy weight, just take it one day at a time.
I am. It is true that PCOS can cause weight gain, and that weight gain worsens symptoms, so I suggest for anyone who isn't currently on meds for their condition, to see a gynecologist or endocrinologist.

Listen to your body. If you notice as you've gained weight that it's been harder to do things that you once did with ease, like climbing a flight of stairs or running, you should really rethink how you eat for the sake of your health.

Hi Girls-I just wanted to pop in and lend some advice for facial hair. I have it too-not on my back (well, I have three dark ones but I pluck those). I have hair on my bum-which I actually just shave once a month and it doesn't grow back that thick. It's not much to begin with. It's really where my legs meet my body. Anyways, for my face-I have TONS. I have it all down my throat. I actually shave that-I am going to get laser hair removal once I am done TTC and have a child. I use Sally Hansen's facial cream hair remover (takes 8 minutes max after a shower). I do this about once a week. I tried doing it before my shower-but I found that my skin got really red after when I did that. NOw I get out of the shower, put it on, do some other things (my hair, etc.) and then I wipe it off, rince my face with baby bath and water (baby bath is mild and won't cause your skin to react). I also use baby bath on my face if I am going to pluck my eyebrows after my shower-causes less redness there too! :) I use the cream on my lip and cheeks.

Hope it helps!
