Anyone taking met and prometrium to induce?

I was curious to know if anyone is taking met with prometrium to induce af ?

I just got the transvaginal in August and got an exact diagnosis of PCOS(even though my derm diagnosed me in Dec. of 2005) so I have not tried Met nor think my PCOS is that extreme, but I have had my AF induced twice with Prometrium this past summer. Now that I am on BCP, I no longer need prometrium to be induced.

I'm extremely new to PCOS and not as informed as most of the ladies on here but I may be able to help you if you had a question about prometrium :D

Hi wife and mommy - My cycles are very regular also with bcp, but went off them in August since i would like to start to ttc in the next couple of months. My RE prescribed prometrium to induce, but didn't work the first month, so he added met (i'm slightly IR). Did the prometrium work right away ? I'm trying to get my cycles regular before adding clomid. Thanks for the input!

Yes, Sienna...the prometrium worked right away for me, hun. I took it everyday for 10 days and had my period by day 12. I have had my two boys and had my tubal ligation in Dec. of 2003 so I wasn't and am not TTC. Generally, my body makes too much estrogen and not enough progesterone unless I am pregnant...and then I make so much progesterone, I break out with chest and back acne and it doesn't clear up and go away until after I deliver LOL :roll:

My first appointment with an endo is Dec. 14th. I don't know anything about Met other than what I have read here and the little bit of research I have done on my own. I hope everything works out for you!! I think of you TTC cysters everyday...in my opinion, that is probably the worst part in having PCOS. Good luck!! I have my fingers crossed for you!!

Did you take 200mg of prometrium ? It's worked for me in the past, but didn's last month. We'll see what happens with this month... :?:

I was taking both intil last November. For some reason the prometrium stopped working and my doc put me back on provera. He couldn't really explain why it stopped working but said that thay can happen.

To be honest, Sienna, I don't even know. My midwife gave me the sample meds so I wouldn't have to pay for them and all I could think about at that appt. was the fact she said I could hemorrhage and die by allowing myself to go so long without having a period.

What is ironic is that I am on BCP(Ortho-Lo) and am 2 days late. This hasn't happened since I have been on BCP. I'm trying not to get discouraged. I'm hoping I never have to use prometrium again LOL
