Are we suppose to take all 3 500mg tablets together or Sep.

My doctor has started me on 500 mg tablets of metformin HC once daily. Then next week I should take "2" 500 mg tablets. Then the following week after that "3" 500 mg tablets. Am I suppose to take these pills 3 time separatley through out the day or all together at one time of the day? Please help!!! Confused. :?

IT depends, If they aren't extended release then you will be taking them though the day.

If they are extended release then it depends on what doc says...mine still runs my XR spilt half in the morning and half at night. But with the XR you can take them all at once...they are designed to absorb throughout the day.

If you can't tell from the prescription bottle, I'd say call your doc or pharmicist...

i just got put on for a 1500 daily on the Met. i was previously at 1000 mg, so once in the morning then once at night.

i'm assuming i just add another 500 in the middle of my day

i'm not sure about taking 1500 at once unless its the extended release kind.

talk to your doctor or pharmacist to confirm.
