Looking for a good doctor, need help!

Hi,
I am not trying to conceive, but am looking for highly recommended endocrinologists and internists familiar with PCOS, preferably reasonably near the areas of Reston, McLean, Vienna, but as far as Leesburg. Thank you.

I wish I could help, but I am ttc and have seen IVF institute and was not happy with them, specifically Dr Black (female) she did NO exam at all, had me fill out lots of paper work about my female health. I walked in to her office to meet her expecting to get an exam and she handed me 3 rx and orders for B/W, explaines the rx's, and sends me off to come back in 6 months if not pg. She dx psoc only by the paper work before I entered her office ever. Didnt check ovaries or anything. I left and went somewhere else. I live in winchester and see someone there. Best to call your ins and see who you can go to and start calling around asking about what they do for PCOS.

I have been seeing Dr. Tanen for the past two years and I am very happy with him. He did have an office in Reston and another location in McLean but has recently moved his practice to one location (see below). He is also a professional member of PCOSA.

U can try the Northern Virginia Endocrinologists.They practice in 2 locations one in Fairfax hospital premises and the other in Fairoaks hospital.They r supposed to be the best...my OB/Gyn recommnded them.I've seen Dr.Suzzanne Rogacz just once but she seemed quite knowledgable about PCOS.More important is she was ready to listen and had time explain everything to me.

I just ended my 6 month relationship with NoVA Endocriniologists. Dr. Ross has no idea on PCOS and is a #1 jerk.

I started recently with Pierre Asfar at the Washington Fertility Center, although like you my main concern isn't fertility. Dr Pierre is great and he said a 1/3 of their patients have PCOS. They've got offices in Reston, Annandale and Leesburg. I'll keep you posted.
