Alrighty ladies, here is my new mommy worries...

I haven't had any ped dr appt since he was a week old and I don't have another til he is 2 months old so I figured I'd ask some ?'s here.

How much weight are they supposed to be gaining in the first 2 months? Dylan is already 13.5 lbs. Is that too heavy? He's in size 2 diapers and just about to move him to 3-6 month clothes. Is he eating too much? When I do occasionally give him a bottle he eats like 6 oz and can still eat more. I usually just put him on my boob and he goes to town like he didn't even eat at all. How much should he be eating now? From a bottle that is? And lastly, when did you all start your little ones on a schedule. The only real schedule I have for him is shower/bath at 830pm, nurse and off to bed. We still wake up between 3-5hrs for night feedings and then completely wake up at around 9am. Playtime, swing, and belly time and then he falls asleep. Eats and sleeps the rest of the day but not on any real schedule. I'm afraid he's sleeping too much. Prob close to like 20hrs a day.

Thanks any info will be helpful!

Sounds like he is doin good on the eating thing. THey say when you boob feed they dont overeat. Porkchop was a 6oz baby and still is.

Im not sure on the sleep..it sounds like alot. But Id just call...they should be able to tell you over the phone.

Mel - I never really knew how much Mason ate until he went to daycare since he was pretty much all boob. Now a week into daycare and he eats anywhere from 10-15 ozs while there, 7-8 hours. Then he gets one feeding before we go to daycare and once we get home 2-3xs and he wakes maybe once at night.
I read somewhere (or maybe my lactation consultant told me) that almost all babies (breastfed) babies will take an add't amount after the breast, meaning if you were to give him say an ounce or two after a boob, they'll take it.
Mason sleeps a lot too. But on the flip side to that he can and has stayed awake all day.

I would be happy with his eating and weight. That sounds fine to me. I was so freaked out because Leata wasn't gaining weight and she is still only 17 pounds. Babies just grow at different rates and it sounds like Dylan is doing really well. Leata will still sleep a good 18 hours in a days sometimes. The doctor does not seem concerned though. She was always sleeping when she was smaller. I would say that Dylan is probably doing just fine.
