WOW!!! Congrats on all you ladies who are so close!!! So excited to see how everything plays out for each of you this month!:p

I've reached my 36th wk milestone today! YEAY!!! went in for my 1st internal. My letdown is normal, she is -2, estimated just over 6lbs, estimated to be just over 8lbs at birth if I go to my due date, (in which I always have), gained 6oz this past week, BP is good, got my strep-B test, am long and a fingertip dilated, (not even a cm)....I usually lose my mucous plug about 2-3wks prior to my EDDs' so, I was surprised to have any dilatation at this point. I made a joke that since I have already had two children, I was probably a fingertip before I even conceived! That's it! Hope you all have a wonderful safe and healthy weekend!...I'll be working

Corinna Congrats on 36 weeks! :)

***
We're officially full term tomorrow, woohoo! Now if only this kid would get the memo that Mommy is DONE being pg. :p These practice contractions are really irritating me. It feels like I've been doing sit ups all week. I'm sore and ready for it to go away until it's ready to be the real thing!

Appt yesterday sucked. Posted about it on PG moms thread. I'm measuring 40.5 cm (no wonder I feel HUGE). I'm at 40% effaced, was a fingertip dilated last week and this midwife wouldn't check to see if it was more this week. Feeling discouraged like it's going to be weeks before we're done. :( If I don't see progress this next week, I'm just going to have myself a good cry. I feel bad, but I just so want this over with. :(

Tell me about Monday being soon!!! EEK!

Thanks Cassie!

Corinna
Congrats on 36 weeks!!

Christina
I hope you manage to get some rest before your little one arrives. You've had a really rough time lately :( I hope you can manage to enjoy the rest of your pregnancy and you make it to 37 weeks at least. That's not too far from now!

Knut
Congrats on full term!! Sorry you're feeling so uncomfortable :( I've had those moments of feeling ready to be done and I'm not built as small as you. I can't imagine how miserable it would be. I hope Sophie decides to make her entrance sooner rather than later! Try to get some rest if you can with 2 LOs running around.

Hello ladies, congrats to those of you who you are so close to your due date! It is exciting.

Corinna - congrats on 36 weeks. Overall, aside from the fact that you're not dilated, it sounds like you had a good appointment - that's the main thing. Baby will come.

Knutfugget - congrats on full term. Hopefully your baby decides it wants to meet you soon, so you no longer have to be preggo. I know it's hard, but try not to get discouraged - you don't have too much longer left.

AFM - not much new to report at this point. I'm still having menstrual cramps on and off. I have my next doctor appointment on Monday, and I have an ultrasound on Monday. So, I'm pretty excited for Monday, espicially to confirm the position of the baby, as my doctor thinks baby may be breech from feeling my belly.

pugmom74
11-05-2010, 02:26 PM
Ok, I just have to share this... I was "googling" ways to turn a breech baby and found a midwife's website that had a bunch of suggestions. This one is my favorite!!!!

"Find every picture of a head-down baby you can find and plaster them all over your house/work, in your purse, and anywhere else you can think of and keep the faith. Your baby will turn!!"

She also claims if the dad talks into the pregnant woman's vagina, and talks to the baby in a commanding way, it will turn.

REALLY??????? I just got my daily laugh!

Hi all,

knut: Congrats on full term! Hopefully Sophie won't make you wait too much longer. I am right there with you being totally uncomfortable and ready to not be pregnant any more. Bring on labor!

flutter: Hope you have a great, calm, relaxing weekend! Only a matter of days until you're holding your little girl!

vicky: Good luck at your appointment on Monday. Hope the u/s goes well (and that your baby isn't breech!).

Corinna: Hooray for 36 weeks! Not long to go now!

A question for everyone: Is it normal for the baby to move less in the final weeks? I have been working myself up the past two days because she isn't moving as much as normal. She IS moving, and when I do kick counts, I can get to 10 within an hour, but it just seems less than before. Someone tell me this is normal. I'm driving myself crazy.

I am so ready to have this baby. Between the anxiety and discomfort, I am praying that things start moving soon. Still having BH, but nothing else indicative of labor starting soon. Ahhh, the waiting is really driving me nuts.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

pugmom74
11-05-2010, 03:24 PM
Minipie-- it is absolutely, 100% normal that baby isn't move as much anymore. Space is very limited in there and she's very snuggly scrunched up inside. She's still moving, you're just not feeling those big jabs and movements anymore-- now it's kinda squirms here and there.

knutfugget
11-05-2010, 03:38 PM
mini Yep, totally normal. Things are very cramped in there towards the end. Too bad it doesn't seem to make them uncomfortable enough to hurry up and come out, eh? ;) Sophie's more squirming than kicking these days, too, but looks fine on u/s and NSTs. Just running out of space is all. :)

Rhonda LOL! If you try the DH talking thing, let us know how that goes? ;) I don't think the baby'd hear over the sound of me laughing myself to death, but that's just me. :p

Vicky Good luck at your appt. Hope the baby's not breech!

***
The kids are sick and just being whiny/clingy/irritable, ugh! It seems like all they've done since Nate started preschool is be sick! :( I need to start sending him smothered in hand sanitizer or something. :p

I had my chiro appt this morning, so my back is feeling pretty good. :) Still not loving these contractions. I'm at the point where I miss the slightly annoying ones. These painful ones suck, lol. Chiro said to me "Well, you only have 3 weeks left." Gave him the deathstare. Three weeks feels like an eternity when you're the one huge and preggo. The fact I'm measuring over 40 weeks tells me it's not all in my head that I am HUGE. *sigh*

I had planned on getting out for a date night to celebrate being term, but the whole sick kids thing killed that. I'll get to spend the night the same way I've spent my day - listening to crying/whining/fighting toddlers and cleaning the house. Awesome. :( If somebody asked me TODAY if I wanted my tubes tied, well... ;) :p

Hello to all the ladies

Corinna, congrats on the milestones.

Knut, congrats with being full term

Vicky, good luck with the ultrasound. I hope the baby has turned

Pugmom, LOL I think some of our husbands are already talking to the vagina…..LIKE GIVE ME MY CAVE BACK!

Minipie, pugmom is right… that is what my ob said. You should still feel them move, but not as powerful

I had my ultrasoud and mary elizabeth is no longer beech. AFI of 12. she is about 3.5 Lbs. Everything looks good and I got a really nice face picture (although it is only 2d) Based on that she has my husband's full lips :D

hi girls! I am so happy to be finally joining you over here!

Knut, try not to get discouraged! I know a couple women who have gone from not being dialated at all to 4 cms in a couple hours once they go into labor. i understand wanting to make progress though....it makes you feel so much better about the end being near. try drinking some raspberry leaf tea and dtd.

mini- i second what all the other ladies say. it is totally normal not to feel the movement as much at the end of the pregnancy since baby is running out of room. Yay for being so close!

mary, so glad baby is not breech! I had a breech baby and ended up with a c-section so I know how stressful it can be to have a breech baby and wonder!

pugmom74
11-06-2010, 10:12 AM
MaryFaith-- so glad to hear that baby isn't breech anymore!!! I'm still holding out hope that mine will flip soon... so far, no luck. I'm gonna have DH yell into my girly bits tonight and see what happens!!! (j/k LOL!!!!)

Honey-- well, to the 3rd trimester.

I have a crazy busy weekend ahead of me, but other than that, things are good here. Today we have my Grandma's bday celebration, although I don't even think she knows it's her bday. Then I have to rush my 5 year old off to a bday party right after that. Tomorrow we are having my 5 year old's birthday party (his bday is Tuesday) and having 12 little boys for that. After the party it's off to hockey practice for my older 2. BUSY! When do I get to nap in all of that activity???

mini
my lo has moved a lot less in the past few weeks too. Like everyone else said, my OB told me the movements are just different b/c of less space so you don't feel them as acutely as before.

knut
hope you can manage to sneak a date night in before sophie arrives. glad the chiro appointment helped with you back pain. Are you still keeping up with your work outs?

mary
congrats on the baby turning! that's great news!

honey
welcome to the third tri!!

pug
sounds like my little girl's bday will be the day before your DS's :) I wish she were being born on the 9th too, that's my best friend's bday!

I've been trying to get the house ready for baby this weekend. Getting all of the last minute stuff done. glad to have the extra 2 days of down time to prepare. I'm pretty sure I had my first contractions tonight. It was only on my left side and hurt pretty constantly for 1 or 2 minutes and then it would ease up to a dull ache and then come back for a couple of minutes. it never spread to the other side though. Sounds crazy, but I'm glad to get a taste of what they feel like at least since i won't get to experience them with the c-section. Bedroom and kitchen are cleaned, pumpkin bread is baked for thank you gifts to drop by work tomorrow and laundry is caught up! Tomorrow is finishing cleaning, packing, installing car seat and making lists! hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend. I might pop in tomorrow, but this also could be my last post as a pregnant lady :D so excited to meet this little girl!

Thanks everyone for your reassurance about baby movement! I was really worried on Friday, but I've calmed myself down. She's definitely still wiggling around, but I can imagine she's really running out of room. It's almost as if I can feel her getting bigger.

knut: Hopefully those painful contractions mean that things are going to start happening soon! That's what I tell myself when I get contractions that hurt. It must be doing something!

MaryFaith: Great news that the baby isn't breech! Sounds like a good appointment all around. Hope she stays head down for you!

honey: Welcome to the third trimester!

pugmom: Hope you have survived your crazy weekend and can find some time to put your feet up and relax!!

flutter: Wishing you all the best for a speedy, uneventful birth tomorrow!!! I am so excited for you and can't wait to hear all about it. I can't imagine how exciting it'll be to see your daughter's face and hold her for the first time!

As for me, I'm still here, still pregnant, and still showing no signs of anything happening! I'm sort of okay with that though. Sometimes I think I just want to have this baby already, but then I start freaking out about labor/delivery and actually becoming a parent. Yikes!!

I am super vigilant for signs of impending labor, but so far nothing. I wake up every night with contractions and sort of wonder if they're the real thing, but they subside and then I go back to sleep. So the waiting game continues...

Hope everyone's doing well and has had a good weekend!

Sorry ladies for lackof personals...I feel like crap and I am sooo tired.

A quick update... Went into L&D yesterday afternoon for 4 hours to get blood pressure checked and other tests run. I have had a headache since Friday morning and Tyolnol was not helping. All is well. Baby looked great. Contractions are there still but not consistant, and not close and really not bad but it was noce to see where they were on the monitor. We are making progress. I was at 3cm and thats up from 1cm on Monday. Dr said to get some rest and that she will see us sooner rather than later ;) Hopefully Weston will be here in the next week or so!

I would love for this kiddo to comeout tonight. I have had contractions all day and I am more than ready for them to get more regular. I had a pretty productive day considering how much pain I am in at time. I think I have some serious back labor again...grrr!

I need to say a big thanks to the best mom and sister in the world. We got everything compleatly done and ready for Weston. Feels good to be totally ready. Anytime little man...anytime!!!!

Hope you ladies are doing well. And I hope Knut has a speedy delivery and also Flutter...good luck ladies....maybe I am next??? DH would like that ;)

rjs, i hope baby makes his entrance soon!

afm, i am just chugging along. baby is moving like crazy but i feel like he/she is sitting so low. i also noticed that i am swollen on one side down there...anyone else have that too? i didn't have it with my first, but she also sat really high.

Although I have to admit I am slightly jealous. :p I shouldn't get impatient yet since I technically still have more than a week to go, but I feel like my baby will never be born!

Just popping in to say a quick hi and congrats to all the ladies who are having or have had or even might have babies this week! Yippe Knut & Sophie! Hopefully they've started a trend! It feels like yesterday we were all on the first tri board together. I can't believe we're all so close to the finish line.

I'm still hanging on tightly to this baby. If only my hands weren't so miserable from carpal tunnel and swelling, I could see hanging in there to the very end with little issues. She's dropped, so there's all sorts of interesting feelings in my bladder area, but other than that, still don't have any really major discomfort. Sleeping is getting harder with so much on my mind, but I guess I better just get used to that idea!

RJ - glad everythings okay. Could the headache be allergy related? Both hubs and I have been plagued by allergy challenges in the past week or so. Sending you delivery dust!!!!

Mini - I hear ya! I'm okay with the L&D part, just starting to panic about the parenting part!

Honey - welcome! If it isn't already, time should fly from here on for you!

Flutter - Thinking positive thoughts for you today! Can't wait to hear your birth story!

pugmom74
11-08-2010, 01:41 PM
Thinking about Flutter today!!! Hope she's holding her little one soon.

Minipie-- *I'm* jealous too and I'm not even close to giving birth yet, although I sure wish I was. Let's just say, "I'm done".

JE-- I know the "interesting feelings in the bladder area" too. My baby is high, but it's breech and constantly kicking my bladder. NOT comfortable!

Rjsmamma-- sounds like you're going soon. Can't wait to hear all about your little guy's entrance!

Things are going ok here... I tried to cut my toe nails and take off old polish last night. I just about died! I couldn't breathe leaning over like that and my back hurt so badly. I can no longer work on the pedi apparently. I'll be headed out to get a professional pedicure soon!

11-09-2010, 06:54 AM
Congratulations to Knut and Sophie!!!

AFM - I had an ultrasound yesterday, and baby is head down, so that's great news. I'm glad as my doc first thought that baby was breech. Hopefully he/she doesn't flip again.... I was having a lot of menstrual type cramps too, doc did an internal, and everything is closed. So, no preterm labor here.... They told me at the ultrasound that baby is 5 pounds, which is where I should be for 34 weeks, so that's good. The countdown is on now!!!!!

Hi all,

Whenever flutter and knut read this, congrats to both of you! I'm thinking of you both and hope you and your girls are doing well!

I had my OB appointment this morning and NOTHING has changed from last week. I'm still only 1cm dilated, 50% effaced. I've made no progress at all in the last week, despite some painful contractions. :(

The good news is that my amniotic fluid levels haven't decreased from last week and the NST was good. So the plan is now that I go to my appointment next week on my due date, and if nothing has happened by then, I'm going to be transferred to the care of the OBs at the hospital where I'm delivering. Then we'll talk about induction, but it sounds like that has been withdrawn as an option now since things are looking okay. I am grateful that everything is fine, but it's driving me crazy that the plan keeps changing. I also feel pretty down that I'm not progressing. I think I'm going to be pregnant forever. You will all have your babies before I do.

So now I'm just waiting and trying not to go nuts. Hope all is well with everyone else.

Wellsv

Congrats to Flutter.

Minipie - I hope you start feeling better and that your little one decides to make an appearance really soon. With my DS#1, I had to be induced. The doctors were kind enough to do it on my actual due date, so I went the full 40 weeks. It was really tough, as there were lots of pregnant friends that went 3 weeks early, 2 weeks early. They all beat me even though they were due after me. I was huge, sick and miserable. I will say this - the nice thing about induction was I had time to get mentally prepared, we made plans for my in-laws to watch our dog. We had time to pack our bags and food and make sure everything was in the car. We had a good breakfast, got a good night's sleep.

Thanks, wells! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to have a pity party with my last post. I am just getting so big and uncomfortable that I want things to start moving! I should be grateful that I have this extra time for myself. And most of all I'm grateful that I have a full term, healthy baby in there. That's the most important thing. :)

Anyway, no more whining from me! Hope everyone is doing great!

Mini- I am right there with you. I am beyond ready. I wish there was more we could do to be more comfortable.

Christina- Good luck tomorrow. KUP

Vicky- I hope time flys for you to your delivery day. I feel like mine has. Its weird, the days drag by but looking back the time flew by.

Pugmom- You made me laugh. I thought Sunday was "the day" so I tried to do my toe nails also...DH just laughed at me, until I made him finish them...lol...then I told him that I was going to go get a pedicure this week and he thought that was a great idea.

AFM: well I am still prego. I have had false alarms every day and night starting Sunday. I keep thinking anytime would be fine for me. I have my 39 week apt tomorrow so I am really hoping for more progress from the 3cm from last week. If not I will be asking about when my OB would do an induction. I feel like this baby is already so much larger than my first and I really hope we dont have any trouble with him comming out. DS#1 was a very long 28 hour labor.

I have had serious back pain and cramping when staning up and contractions here and there when I lay down. I feel like I have no relief :(

Hopefully he is here real soon...like tonight would be good for me LO!

Mini - pity parties are totally acceptable in pregnancy! Trust me, when all my friends went ahead of me, I cried for about 3 hours each time.
RJs - good luck. I am totally prepared to ask again for the induction, and that includes crying, begging, the works when that time comes for me.
Vicky - glad the baby's head is down.
AFM, I learned at my u/s and exam that the baby's head is also down. During my u/s, it was clear as day that this is a boy. A boy who was playing with himself. The u/s technician was laughing so hard. I'm now only measuring 1 week ahead. Yay. But he's still big.

MaryFaith-- I have had bladder "issues" ever since I had Blake. No fun at all...

Wells-- glad baby is head down. Your comment about the baby boy "playing with himself" made me laugh-- I have 3 boys. I know allllll about it!

I have a doctor's appt. tomorrow. Not looking forward to the scale, but I always like to check in with my favorite doctor, who I get to see tomorrow.

Rhonda Good luck at your appt! :) How're you feeling these days?

Wells LOL! Congrats on the boy. ;)

rjs Shouldn't be long now! I hope you go into labor soon. :) My last week was full of contractions, too, so you never know.

Christina Good luck! :D

mini Don't feel bad for complaining! EVERYBODY gets miserable at the end. On the bright side, you start feeling a lot less anxious about labor and start looking forward to it a lot more, lol. And being at a 1 doesn't mean you won't go into labor soon. I was at a 1 and 40% at my last prenatal checkup - they told me I had WEEKS left - went into labor a few days later, surprise! :) My last baby, I walked around dilated at 4cm for almost 2 weeks before they just induced me. Funny how that stuff works. :p

Hi to JE, honey and everybody else. :)

***
Miss Sophie made her arrival on the 7th. I didn't expect to have her for another few weeks. I walked around at a 4 with Hailey for so long, and when they told me I was still only at a 1 this time... Yeah, felt like she would NEVER come, lol. I still can't believe I'm not over here anymore. Not that I'm complaining. ;) We're all in love with her. She's the perfect addition to our family. :D

Can't wait to see all the pics and birth stories from you guys! November is going to be a busy month. :D

RJ~ I hope it happens soon than later for you. I feel more miserable and uncomfortable this time around as well.

Pug~ How was your appt?

Hello to everyone else. Hope all is going well.

Well the Dr didnt check my cervix today (not sure why but I trust him and didnt ask) got my u/s that now shows her measuring perfectly on target instead of large like she has been. Est. weight today was 6lb9oz give or take a lb LOL Also on weekly NSTs now. I had more than 4 contractions in the 20 min NST but the tech told the dr they were bothering me and I was just sitting there texting haha so he said I was fine and to go home. Still having tons of contractions but only painful at nite. So I have a feeling I will be going into labor at nite one day and hoping to make it to the hospital an hour away. Here is the ultrasound pic from today.

Christina, my appt. is tomorrow... but I'm sure it will be fine. Glad you're doing well and hanging in there. Cute ultrasound pic!

Knut-- I'm hanging in there, and trying not to complain, but it's getting harder to resist. I know that all of you guys understand, so I save my complaining for you guys. If I say anything to my mom she gets an attitude with me and says stuff like, "well, this is what you WANTED!". Yes, I'm very grateful for this baby, and this pregnancy, it's just harder than Blake's pregnancy. Maybe because I'm 4 years older? Maybe it's just a harder pregnancy? Anyways, I'm just taking it one day at a time and counting down the time... before I know it baby will be here and I'm VERY excited about that!

Good morning ladies.

Corinna- I hope you are right that I'm next...I'd love it! I have to give you props that you are still working. I couldnt do it, so great job.

Pugmom- Thats what we are here for. All of us totally understand and have an open ear anytime for anything!

Christina- Like you I feel like I have more contractions in the evening and at night so I too think that we will be a night laborer. All I wish for is little traffic to get there, it is going to take us just over an hour if DS is home and needs to goto grandmas.

I hope everyone else is doing good in these last few weeks or days. I cant wait to see who is next.... I am going to be selfish and hope it is me :D

AFM: 7 days left!!!! Today is the day I wanted to have him. I love the date 11/11. I had my 39 week apt yesterday and no change :mad: I just wanted to cry, but that wouldnt do anything so I just asked about induction. Dr told me that I dont have a need for it yet, but if anything changes before the standard 41 weeks we would talk more about it. Grrr....then he recovered himself by mentioning that he doubts that I will make it to next weeks apt on Friday, so we will wait and see. I had contractions off and on all day and night yesterday and this morning I have a few more, but now I have pressure in my lower back and butt, Kinda like I have to go to the bathroom, but I dont. Its weird. It comes in waves so maybe it is contractions, I might start to time them...hmmmm. They are uncomfortable :(

On a different topic: Why do kids not understand that a day off means you can sleep in and so can mommy? Up before 6am is a killer, luckly a movie and some food keeps him quiet for a while so mama can get some sleep since last night I was unsuccessful at it :(

Just wanted to pop over and say hello to everyone. I hope you're all hanging in there.

I hope you get to meet your little girl soon! You will forget how miserable you were as soon as you're holding her. It's the most amazing thing I've ever experienced.

rjs
I know you're really miserable right now too. Hopefully your guy will decide to show up in the next couple of days. I really wanted 11-11 for an arrival date too. Now that she's here i'm happy that i got her a few days earlier. Hope things start to progress quickly for you!

Hi to everyone else. thanks so much for all of the well wishes! I hope the rest of the third trimester flies by for all of you :)

rjsmamma-- Thanks for the support... I know everyone understands, which is reassuring. I know the uncomfortableness you're talking about... I'm only 30 weeks and I'm feeling it too. I really want this baby out at 37 weeks, but I don't know if that will happen. Hope you go soon and don't have to wait much longer!!!

Corrina-- Congrats on full term! I'm dying to be 37 weeks!!

I had another doctor's appt today. I'm going every 2 weeks now. I actually lost 2 lbs (shocked me!) and my BP was great. Baby is still breech and doc wants me to have another ultrasound in 2 weeks (that will be my 6th ultrasound!) to check position. If baby is still breech in 2 weeks, he will go ahead and schedule a c-section (because I don't want to do a version). I'm really, really, REALLY hoping he'll let me have one at 37 weeks. That will be the week after Christmas and my kids will be home from school, as will my husband, since he's a teacher. It will just work out much better (not to mention that we've already met our deductible for 2010 and that would be a bonus for us financially!). We'll see what he has to say.

Wellsv, LOL @ your little boy playing with himself….they start young : )

Corinna congrats on being term

Pugmom, at my hospital they schedule c-sections at 39 wks and if they do it earlier then they could have to see fetal lung maturity before deciding…totally agree with having the baby born before 2011 (a little green in the bag) :D .…I’m hoping my little joy comes in on December 29.…since it is my anniversary (the best GIFT EVER)

Hoping all are doing well

I'm really expecting my doctor to not want to do a c-section at 37 weeks, but I'm gonna try my hardest to convince him! I know it's not about my convenience, of course it's about the baby and what's best for him/her. I'm just hoping and wishing and praying....

I hope it works out for you Pug!

I got disturbing news today - my daycare lady is closing at the end of this year due to financial reasons. So, not only am I out daycare during my maternity leave, which I was counting on, but I no longer have daycare for an infant. I am stressed out, but this is seriously the 4th time this has happened. We will be on our 5th daycare in 4 years. The first lady kicked us out because Eli was a crabby baby. The 2nd one was great, but we moved. The third one closed because of health issues, and now the 4th one is closing due to financial reasons. I swear, I must have the worst luck EVER with daycare. What am i going to do? It is going to be super difficult to try and find daycare for an infant plus an older kid. I may just have to suck it up and send them both to a center, which will cost at least $350 per week and that doesn't include breakfast or lunch.

And work has been less than great, so I've already been stressed out about being here. It just feels like everything is spiraling out of control. I'm back to having morning sickness - at night, but with the vomitting and stuff.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Hello ladies!

wells-oh that's awful! How about going w/ a chain daycare like the Goddard school? They are the same price as what your paying now...I'm sure there must be others as well that are chain...at least this way there less likely to close up shop on you.....so sorry about this!:(

went to my OB appt this a.m. my mil arrived at midnight last night and has helped out so much today when i really needed it. the baby is measuring at 38wks. i put on just under 3lbs this past week! which is an unusual amount for me considering I have hovered around 6oz-1lb a week. i'm at 25lbs total which is good but, just bothers me w/ the GD....she suggested keeping an extra eye on my blood sugar levels and wants me to begin NST's if i begin hitting >140 levels....haven't as of yet....then she suggested stripping my membranes w/ each visit beginning today because the baby is estimated to be in the high 7's (lbs), and I am still just 1cm and about 60%...she wants me to deliver in the next two weeks and knows that this can cause things to begin happening....well it worked! I cannot tell you how painful that was and how it caused lower backpains and painful contractions! I became nauseous soon afterward...never reacted like this when stripped w/ my son...i was in tears at one point...so my mucous plug came out later at home in the toilet while i was peeing and the contractions, although much lighter, continue....because I am a weekend warrior, i will be working my 12 twelves tomorrow and sunday..however, considering calling in tomorrow if these contractions don't lighten up...made sure to schedule this reoccurring nightmare next week when I don't have to work the next day...well, that's my update for now! Have a good evening ladies!;)

hey girls! a lot has happened since a few days ago!

re; being uncomfortable - it is totally normal to complain and be uncomfortable as a pregnant woman. i dont like when people get mad that pregnant woman mention they aren't comfortable. it is really hard on a body to carry around all that extra weight.

corrina i hope that baby is coming soon for you! actually i hope that you are in labor right now !

wells, i am sorry things are going so rough for you. it seems like when it rains it pours, but know that it will get better hugs!

pug, i can understand wanting to get that baby out earlier, but 37 weeks can be risky. some babies' lungs are not completely developed at that time. since due dates are not always accurate, doctors can be hesitant to induce or take babies out at that point. hopefully things work out and that baby comes sooner rather than later for you...

mary, what a cool date for you to have that baby! I will hope and pray that you get that date!

nothing new and exciting is happening here. still getting contractions but nothing substantial. i am getting so nervous with how fast time is passing. this pregnancy has been flying by and i feel like this baby is going to come sooner than i am ready for him or her to be here! as long as this baby waits until january i will feel a whole lot better about everything. thats my goal...just make it to january!

o.k....never went to work this a.m....began having painful contractions around 2:30am which kept me up until about 4:30am when I called in to work....they weren't actual labor contractions just BH contractions however, painful. I timed them about 4-5min apart for a while then fell asleep...they have teetered off drastically now but I am still getting about six + hr. some more intense than others. I really believe nothing is going to happen in terms of going into actual labor for at least another week which I would rather have for Lexys' benefit however, i am afraid of being so incompacitated until then in regards to just moving around the house let alone having to go to work in which I really need to do w/ the baby coming, christmas and my childrens' b-days.....just don't want to have to struggle. I did make my next appt w/ the "stripping", for the beginning of the week rather then the day before I have to work a 12hr shift! so, work is wondering whether or not I need to begin my maternity leave now, and although I would really love to, I just can't...well, more like I'd rather not, I could if I have to...dilemma, dilemma...I can say, unlike the opposite, I am NOT looking forward to Tuesday when i see the O.B. again! that was just so painful!:(:( sorry for the rant....just a bit overwhelmed w/ all this unknown....will see how I get along today depending whether or not I go into work tomorrow.....

Corrina, hope you are feeling ok. Haven't seen posts from Minipie or RJs, hopefully that's a good sign?!!!

Mary, I am hoping for December 29th also, but that will only be 37 weeks, so I doubt it will happen. But that was my dog's birthday, and we had to put her to sleep earlier this year. We thought it would be a special memory for us. Pug, I hope they will do the c-section for you at 37 weeks. I've heard of people having c-sections scheduled a little early, so I hope you can be one of them.

Honey, hope you make it to January!

Hi ladies!

I keep checking eagerly to see if anyone else posts any birth announcements! So exciting!

Talking about due dates, baby girl needs to come by December 1 (her due date), otherwise mommy is going to be hassled about inducing because of her finicky BP. I think we're going to start pulling out all the stop to naturally induce labor in a few more days so we hopefully don't have to get to that point. Daddy just hopes she doesn't pick Thanksgiving....he really likes Grandma's Turkey dinner. :)

Corinna - hope you're hanging in there. You're braver than I, I get queezy when thinking about stripping membranes. Sounds like it hurt way too much! But hoping it gets things going for you!

Wells - good luck with the daycare challenge. Such a big decision to have to make so many times!

As for me, something down there feels like it's screaming "UNCLE" when I walk, but otherwise no signs of progress except for more frequent non-painful BH. My midwife won't do cervical checks unless I want her too, and I haven't wanted to know anything so far, but I think I might start to get really curious by this weeks appt on Friday....even though I keep telling myself those checks really don't tell you anything!

honey, I'm so behind in regards to getting the nursery ready....I already know what I want (specific items), BUT have not ordered anything YET.....I told my husband clear up the credit card so we can start buying....Pregnancy does feel like it is flying and I want it to because I can't wait to see my baby and hold her safely in my arms, BUT the nerves are kicking in.

corinna, are you a nurse (assuming 12 hr nursing shifts)....My stomach is getting so big and I thought I would continue working until I delivered, but now I''m like maybe it is not possible....I'm going to get bigger and 12 hr shifts are hard when you are on your
feet. I've decided that after Jan.2, I'm taking FMLA.....

wellsv, I hope you get your dec 29...U never know : )

Good morning ladies, I'd like to say no news is good news, but not really. No news from me because nothing more has happened. We thought Thursday was it went into L&D around 11 with strong contractions every 5 mins that went to 3 mins on the way to L&D. Got all checked in and and checked and had no real change other than my cervix is definatly shortening, but I was still at 3 maybe 3 1/2 cm. Then my contractions started to hurt less and slow down. They kept me for another hour to monitor and sent me home. :(
Since then I have had BH and they are regular sometimes but not real painful. I have very bad back pain and lots of pressure down low, but still nothing to justify another trip back to L&D yet. I keep telling DH I would cry if I thought it would help, but all that would do would tire me more... grrrr

OK Sorry for the vent. I hope you lades are all doing good. :) I keep waiting to see more birth stories also, I cant wait!

RE: due dates- I hope you ladies get the dates you want. I can understand wanting to know exactly when you get to meet your little one. You ladies all have very good reason for the dates you choose, I just hope the Dr agrees.

Have a great day ladies, I am off to be busy in hope of kicking this kid into labor soon. He didnt understand that the eviction notice I served him Thursday night was real, he had 24 hours, so now I have to make him uncomfortable and want to come out ASAP! We will see ;)

Hi ladies! Just quickly checking in to say that I'm still here and still pregnant. :p It actually seems like I'm having fewer contractions lately, which is a bit discouraging. But I'm trying to take it all in stride -- I figure it's at least easier to take care of the baby while she's in. ;) Plus I'm using this extra time to make my husband take me out for dinner tonight. Figure it'll be much harder to do in a few days!

JE: Hope your little one cooperates and comes by her due date!

Corinna: Any news? Sounds like you will probably go before I do!

Wells: I'm so sorry to hear about your child care situation. :( I hope you'll be able to work something out. How stressful.

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Shoot, I was hoping no news was good news. I'm sending birthing vibes to you all that want them. I keep having dreams about labor, so ***maybe*** I am having psychic dreams about one of you ladies going into labor. DH's birthday is 11/18, so if anyone has their baby that day, I think that would be cool. But I totally know how you feel when you're virtually at 40 weeks and still no baby. I cried for an hour a day every day that baby didn't show. I remember the dramatic tears to my husband that our baby hated me because he wouldn't come out. And I took baths and whatnot every day. Everything imaginable that people said to do to go into labor, I did it. I was at least fortunate enough that my dr induced on the actual due date. That will be me again, I just know it.

Maryfaith- Yes, I am a nurse, a geriatric nurse. I work weekends, 2/12 hr shifts on sat & sun and an 8hr on tues night. I have really worked hard on hanging in there so that I could get a longer pay period during my fmla seeing I only have about 3 wks of it....I planned on only taking 5 wks off so that I wouldn't be w/out a paycheck very long...however, these past few days have proved to me that I just can't do it anymore...perhaps if she didn't strip me i could...i am going to talk to her about this tomorrow at my appt because I cannot continue to go on like this for weeks if this is what she plans on doing each visit....it's too much on me. I began feeling like I was nearing the end of my working about where you are now but, I hung in there until now. I didn't work on sat because of the aftermath of Fridays' appt but did yesterday and it was all that I could take at about 8hrs...I just took took it really easy the last four. Nobody expects to see me back on Tues night and they are probably right....will know more tomorrow.

rjs'mamma- sounds like you need to grab a girlfriend and go for a good walk! lol! anyday now, anyday!;)

minipie- Enjoy your dinner! two days and you will be 40 wks!! I am speculating you will go w/in the next 7 days!:p

worked 12 hrs yesterday and it was very uncomfortable w/ the contractions...I kept reminding myself that it's less time off my FMLA and that is what kept me going but, it was also a wake-up call that let me know that I cannot do it anymore....will know more tomorrow at my appt and to find out what all this pain has done since Friday:(

Hi to all the ladies : )

rjsmamma, looks like you are going to get there any minute!

Corinna, my due date is jan. 6 and my fmla will start jan. 2. My husband is a full time student and works part time and so my income is what keeps us going. I only have 2 months of pay and that is if I count my PTOS & RDBS so for a month I'll go without pay...I'm taking 3 months of and by Illinois law, fmla is required to give you 3 months if your hospital employees 50 or more people. Geriatrics is a harder field than labor & delivery....I mean you move patients etc....with labor & delivery I have families help me. I hope you go into labor b/c I feel your pain :hugs:

I've been reading on this thread and wanted to chime in...

Corinna - Were you dilated at all when they did the stripping? I was told by my midwife that they can only do it if your 2-3 CM dilated. When I had mine done, I was 4cm on July 6 at 10:30am. My water broke at 2:30am on July 7 and I delivered at 8:10pm. My midwife said that most women go into labor within 3 days after having their membranes stripped. I agree the process of having it done is VERY painful and the rest of the day after that, I had lots of bleeding and major cramping. I hope you deliver soon! And hopefully won't need to have the stripping done again.

corinna
11-15-2010, 05:10 PM
maryfaith- wow that's only 4 days before your EDD but, then mine was going to be only 7. We are sort of in a similar boat except hubby has a full-time job and can work overtime if needed. Yet his income is half of mine. Thankfully, I have 5 cnas' that do all the hard work. I manage, document/careplans, txs', meds and drsgs only. Plus it's very laid back on the weekends...hopefully, being your first baby, you will go closer to your EDD...I think I would have to if all this did not happen but then, I have quickly learned that all things cannot be planned.

Jessicaileen- I was 1cm/60% effaced. I may be wrong but, it is my understanding that you have to be at least 1cm in order to have your membranes stripped. Regardless, not fun! lol!!! :(

Hello my fellow preggos! and of course the moms that r hopefully in labor or holding babies right now!:p

it is very quite pugmom! hopefully, that is a good thing!

went to my ob appt this a.m. w/ my MIL. informed the md about my experiences since the stripping....everything I have been going through is common i guess but, did not make me feel any better. I am 2cm now and am 50% effaced...I thought I was 60% the last time for some reason but she said I was barely effaced at all. so, I guess all those contractions and pain did something at least!:( other than that i am measuring right on target again and feel confident after talking to her about allowing this baby to come when she is good and ready! She did strip me again and got some bloody show...the results were NOTHING in comparison to last week though, thank GOD! Much easier! I brought up the fact that inducing me at 39wks, (like she had mentioned last week), is Thanksgiving day and I really don't want to spend it at the hospital...neither does she so she said o.k. 40 wks then. i am o.k. w/ delivering a baby that is close to 9lbs as long as my md feels i can in which she feel confident of. regardless of the suffering i will and have endured w/ all these contractions, i would still rather hold out for her to come naturally. I did have her write an excused absence of work considering i am really at my breaking point. However, i am going in tonight because it is an 8 hr night shift in which is more like babysitting than real work other than the last couple of hours...mostly desk work so I'll be sitting most of the time...anything to save those precious paid time off hrs! Tonight will be my last night at work for sure. My brother and his family are coming for one overnight on friday, they live in the same town as my parents about 2 hrs east of us. my SIL has her own hair salon and is meeting someone in charlotte regarding taking on some new product so, that will be nice to have the saturday following off. my step FIL will be here monday, my mom & dad on wed for thanksgiving so that we dont have to travel...and if my dream is accurate, i will be in the hospital on sunday, the 28th having this baby girl! lol!!!:p well, that is my long update! lol!

Hope all you ladies are healthy and pressing on w/ ease! God Bless!

Hi all. Just checking in to say that I am NOT holding a baby right now! Today is my due date, and I am still pregnant. I had an OB appointment this morning. Fluid levels look okay, NST was good, but I have made essentially no progress in the last week. This baby doesn't seem to want to be born any time soon! Now I have to have NSTs every other day, and if nothing happens by next Wednesday I'll be induced. I'm actually not too fazed by this. I am feeling fine and the baby is healthy, so I don't mind waiting a little while longer. No use complaining!

Corinna: I hope you are feeling better. I agree with the others that you should take it easy. The work situation is not ideal, but it's important to take care of yourself!

rjs: Hopefully your son has arrived by now!

To all the rest of you, hope you're all doing well. :)

minipie - I'm sorry to hear that there was no progress in the last week! Hopefully your baby will decide it wants to make it's way into the world before Wednesday, so you don't have to be induced.

Corinna - I hope you're feeling better too. I also agree that you need to take it easy, and I think you made the right decision by staying home from work.

corinna

minipie- I am encouraged by your patience. Allowing the baby to come when they are ready is not always the easiest choice especially when your so uncomfortable. If I last as long as you, I hope I can maintain the same attitude!;)

rjsmamma- hope your doing well!!!:)

Now that I am officially on maternity leave, against my will, lol! Hi there!

All these babies keeping us waiting!!!

Mini - Hang in there. I know you may want her out, but think how much easier on both of you it should be if she decides to come on her own. And if she doesn't.....at least you know you've only got one more week!

Corinna - Sorry about the pains. I know you want to be working still, but look at this as a blessing to have the opportunity to rest up so that you'll have an easier labor & delivery.

Where's RJ? I wonder if we've got a birth story coming soon!!!

AFM, feeling crampy & having backaches the last 2 days. Nothing that coincides with any BHs or any other symptoms that would lead me to believe that anything is coming soon, but boy am I miserable all of the sudden! I still dread the idea of being induced, but at least I know that there's an end in sight and it would only be 2 weeks away at most.

Well ladies, quick update, He's HERE!!!!!!!

Scary story but very happy ending. Sorry if TMI:

Went into L&D Monday afternoon, was admited at 4cm, got epi at 5cm at 9:30pm, water self broke at 1:45, Had to have an emergency c-section because of prolapsed cord and prolapsed hand. Very fast and scary, but that is why we were at the hospital with great Doctors with great responces to emergency situations.

Weston James was born at 1:59 am on 11/16. 9lbs exactly, 20" exactly and very healthy. He is doing great and has needed no intervention. I had to have a general for the c-section so I am very sorefrom the top down. I will update more later.

corinna, sorry you got forced into maternity leave, but enjoy the quite before the baby comes. I wish I would have enjoyed more time to myself before my 1st came, since then, it is never quite (which isn't necessarily a bad thing....just different) Hope baby doesnt decide to come around thanksgiving against your will!

mini, I hope baby comes soon for you!

hi everyone else! I hope you are all doing well!

Nothing new to report here. my belly button is almost all the way out which is a little strange since it didn't pop with my first pregnancy. i just hope it goes back! time is flying! I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has gone...it is going way too fast!

Hi to all the ladies

Corinna, sorry you got forced into early maternity leave, but enjoy it! J

Pugmom, I’m also praying that time flies

JE1014, I wish I was only 2 weeks away (once I’m full term : ) )

Rjsmamma, CONGRATs! I’m glad you and the baby are safe…..wishing you a speedy recovery

Honey19, I’m 33 weeks tomorrow and my co-workers are telling me my belly looks huge (like that of a 40 week gestation). My Spanish speaking pt kept pointing to my belly and saying I have a huge stomach.

Congrats, rjs! I suspected that you were off having your baby. :) Sorry that the delivery was so scary, but I'm really glad that there was a happy ending. Hope you are recovering well!

Mary: Don't you hate when people tell you how huge you are?! I find that most people have no idea what a pregnant woman should look like. I am sure you look great!

honey: lol at the popping belly button! Mine popped out too but not until I was maybe 31 or 32 weeks. It's weird! I really hope mine goes back in.

Corinna: Enjoy your time off!! I was bored at first during my maternity leave, but now I sort of love it. :p Maybe that's why I don't mind that the baby isn't here yet. I just love being lazy. I haven't been nesting at all unfortunately!

JE: Sorry you're feeling uncomfortable lately. Are they definitely going to induce in two weeks? Hope your little girl comes on her own!

Thanks to everyone for all your well wishes. I am still pregnant and feel like I will always be! I have to admit that I'm starting to feel slightly less patient since babies who were due AFTER mine are being born. Bleh! It seems like everyone on here goes early. Am I the only one going late?! But really, it's not so bad. I think the worst thing about it is that I have time to sit around anticipating delivery and parenthood, and I'm starting to scare myself! I don't know if I'm up for it!

Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well!

RJ - congratulations to you and your family! I'm glad to hear that Weston made it safe and sound despite the emergency section.

minipie - don't freak yourself out about parenthood. You will do fine, and once that baby arrives it will all fall into place. Or so that's what they say. I go through the same feelings as you, as this is my first child too. I think it's only natural to wonder about parenthood - it is huge life change, but a good one at that, so look forward to the happy times ahead.

Mary - don't worry about what others are saying - I'm sure you look great, and enjoy your pregnancy.

AFM - nothing new to report this week. I have to see my doctor again on Monday, so no doctor news. I'm still feeling pretty good, and am able to work, so I'm glad for that. I am counting down now though, as I can't wait to meet our little one; although like minipe, I'm a little scared of labor and parenthood, but that's to be expected.

Minipie, I know I said it before, but I know exactly where you are coming from. Only I handled it with much less grace. I cried for like 3 hours a day.

Honey, mine popped too. Mary, people tell me I look like I should be having twins. Thank you. Yes, I'm short, where would you like this baby to go, up? My boobs are in the way.

Congrats RJS! Can't wait to see photos!! I have a cousin named Weston :)

mini
I wish I could have waited until at least my due date. It just means you have a much healthier pregnancy than some of us did! Don't freak out about being able to do it, you will amaze yourself. it's like our bodies are programmed to do this. I can't believe how well i can function on so little sleep, but I'm doing it. Of course the newborn stage is probably a lot easier than other stages since they aren't so easily influenced by everything they're exposed to :) I'm sure you being on maternity leave so much earlier has made your wait seem even longer. You're little girl will be here before you know it!!

Hi girls!

I'm sorry, I really don't mean to be a whiner! I am definitely grateful that I have a full term, healthy baby in there. I certainly didn't mean to imply that I am envious of those who have had their babies too early. I am extremely lucky and thankful that I've had an uncomplicated, healthy pregnancy. I count my blessings every day!

flutter: How are you recovering from your c-section? How's your little girl doing? Hope you're all well!

Wells: How are you holding up? Don't you just hate the twins comment? So stupid!

Vicky: Glad you're feeling good! You're almost full term...how exciting! I think our anxiety about parenthood is normal. I'm sure we'll both do great. :)

RJ! Congrats! I'm sorry to hear your delivery was so scary, but glad to hear that everyone ended up just fine! Weston has one brave mommy!

Honey - My belly button has never popped....I always wondered if it would. I wonder if for me it didn't because I have an anterior placenta.....that or too much extra chub in the belly to push through!! :)

Mini - midwife & consulting Dr. don't want me to go past 40 weeks and risk my BP getting out of control. It's borderline high - 130/76 these days, but tends to climb a bit when I go into the office (white coat syndrome) and the midwife worries it'll get really bad in labor. In the end, I know it's my decision, but I'll probably agree to being induced on Dec 1 if things look "induce-able" My acupuncturist has already started working on different points to trigger labor, so hopefully it won't be necessary.

The backache and the cramping seem to have tapered off a little today. Some round ligament pain and weird feelings in my pelvis, but other than that a better day than the past few.....i really am thankful to not be working, I think things would be so much harder if I was. 3 cheers for you ladies holding on to your jobs to the bitter end!!

Hope everyone else is doing well!!!

minipie, those are totally normal feelings. with my first i had a break down the day i went into labor about making things work with dH and i and a new baby. it was so weird...maybe that means your baby will be making an appearance soon too :) my advice to you is not to think about it. Our bodies just do it and everything just seems so natural.

je, my belly button didn't pop with my first, but this time around I am as big at 7 months pregnant as i was at 9 months pregnant the first time around. i think the position of the baby makes a difference too. This one really likes to kick by my bellybutton.

wellsv, I feel the same way. I am short and dont have a lot of options for where this baby should go. I think if I had a full uterus I would be a lot bigger than I am, and I already feel huge....

vicky, yay for being so close! props to you for working up until that baby comes. I will be doing the same. No early maternity leave for me...

mary, isn't it funny how people can think you are so big without knowing how far along you are? I think people just see belly sometimes and nothing else. Still, I think some people should keep their comments to themselves.

i am starting to feel a little sick the last couple days so I am really hoping it doesn't blow up in my face. I have way to much to do at work to miss any days...

I'm recovering well. Just wish the swelling would all go away! I'm down 25 lbs of the nearly 40 i gained, but still don't fit into my clothes :( Didn't expect that!! We walked a 1/2 mile today so I'm feeling pretty great :) I also forgot to mention in my birth story that I was having contractions when I went in for my c-section and just didn't feel them apparently... You never know when she might arrive regardless of how you're feeling! I'm so excited for you!! Is your mom coming to visit when she gets here?

JE
Glad to see you're still hanging in there! Hope the carpal tunnel isn't getting unbearable! My numbness had improved by 2 days after delivery so hopefully you'll recover quickly. You're SO close to full term!! I could only work til the end b/c I have a desk job. It was pretty easy to make it to the end for me. I have to say that I did enjoy being off for a lot of my pregnancy, but going back to work also made the rest of it go by a little faster which I was also happy about.

Honey
I hope you feel better and don't have to miss work!

Hi to everyone else!! Hope you're all doing well and enjoying being pregnant :)

flutter: Wow, 25 pounds already! Great job! I am curious how I'm going to look postpartum. I'm not expecting to fit into my old clothes any time soon, which is sort of depressing. I've been swelling a lot lately, so it's discouraging to hear that it doesn't go away instantly. :p

My mom will be coming over for two weeks after Thanksgiving. I think she's disappointed she won't be here for the actual birth, but it's just impossible to predict. I'm glad she's able to come at all!

honey: I hope you start feeling better. Kudos to you for sticking it out at work. I started maternity leave at 34 weeks, and now I feel like quite a softy!!

As for me, I lost my mucus plug today! Gross, I know, but I SO hope this means that something will happen soon. I haven't noticed much change in contractions or anything, but I'm hoping the loss of the plug is a good sign. It's funny because before I was worried I wouldn't be able to tell when I lost it, but I could definitely tell. :p

Hope everyone is having a nice Saturday!

Mini- I didn't swell a lot while I was pregnant with my kids but after they were born it was bad for a while. If you have IV fluids, it makes you swell more. For a couple of weeks after it's pretty normal to swell worse and then the swelling goes down and usually stays away. It's normal though, so don't worry, just be prepared. For me it was worst in my legs and feet because I was up doing tons of stuff right after giving birth because my babies were in the NICU.

Hello to all the ladies!
Thanks for the positive comments. (in regards to pregnancy bellies)

Wellsv, LOL at the “where would you like the baby to go, my boobs are in the way”

Flutter, I adore that pic of your baby with the pick tutu and the pink flower in the head : ) awww

Minipie, looks like you are on your way to having your little girl…….How much mucus is the plug? 2 tablespoons….With pregnancy I know you get a lot of discharge so I’m curious

minipie
11-20-2010, 03:02 PM
Sarah: Thanks so much for the heads up regarding swelling. I was sort of expecting it to go down quickly, but it's good to know that it could last a while. Not fun, but it's better to know this ahead of time!

Mary: It's hard to guess how much was actually in the plug, since it came out over the course of the day. I first noticed some gooey, chunky discharge after my shower this morning. It was tinged with brown blood, although not much. Then later this afternoon a much bigger glob (maybe about a tablespoon??) came out. It was thick and chunky, almost like a giant booger (sorry, I know it's gross!). It also was tinged with brown blood. It was completely different from other pregnancy discharge I've had, which has for the most part been watery or creamy. But like so many things with pregnancy, this is probably different for everyone!

You can lose your plug all at once or a little at a time. Also, if you start losing it long before you go into actual labor it can build back up so it may seem like there is tons because it does regenerate if it is gone too long so don't be surprised if that happens! (Mini- that's totally not you because you are going ot go in to labor any minute! ;) I swear I have a never ending plug! But I start dilating really, really early (I am dilated 1-2cm depending on who checks me at 23 weeks).

minipie, thanks for explaining it.

For the past month, (rarely) I get this clear fluid leak from my right breast and just yesterday it came from my left breast....It is about 1-2 drops, but I guess the body is preparing for the baby. Also when the baby has hiccups, I can actually feel her body move from having the hiccups.... There is a rhythm to it

Minipie- YAY!!! hopefully this will encourage you and baby will come very soon!

Flutter- What a BEAUTIFUL baby girl! Love the pic, congrats again!!!!

Hanging in there....I feel like Alexis is just so big and there cannot possibly be much more room to give! My lower ribs feel like they r going to pop! Anxious to hear what the doc says on tuesday! mom and dad will be here on wed, so I am glad this week will go by fast! Next week I will be induced if Alexis doesn't arrive w/in the next 10 days! I picked up all the things for the kids to make their, "I'm the big brother/sister shirts", for the hospital and my belly mold stuff....feeling like the time is short and almost rushed to get things ready.....hmmm:rolleyes:

MaryFaith and Corrina - I'm beginning my 36th week, and my breasts are not leaking at all. I hope that does not mean that I won't be able to breast feed, as I really want too.....

vicky- although this is my third baby, i never leaked w/ my other two pregnancies. sometimes i might be able to express a little fluid but nothing measurable by any means. It's very normal to not leak anything and I nursed my other two children just fine! Everybody is different and every pregnancy is too! ;)

Hope everyone is doing well!!! I Can't wait until my weekly appt tomorrow, anxious to find out how much she is weighing now....a bit nervous regarding her size. hopefully I have either effaced more or dialated..or both!:p mom and dad will be her tomorrow evening! yay!!!:D

Where's Mini? here's hoping she's had or having a baby! And Christina!? I don't think we've heard from her in a few days either!!! I think we need a roll call or something to see who's still pregnant!?!

Mary - I found the fluid early on, maybe around 23 or 24 weeks, but now only have it if I try to express it, it doesn't leak on its own. I'd take it as a good sign that you won't have any trouble with your milk coming in (At least that's what I'm telling myself anyway).

Still pregnant here.....getting very excited to have baby girl here soon. Midwife will probably want to set an induction date if something doesn't happen by Friday, but I might try and drag it out a few extra days before scheduling anything. If everything still seems fine and we're both healthy and my BP isn't too bad, I really want to let baby girl decide when she's coming.

Here's hoping everyone had a good weekend and is looking forward to a short week! (for those of us in the states anyway!!)

Saw on Facebook that Christina is having her baby! Hope Minipie is as well.

How is everyone???

JE-- I know what you mean about letting the LO come on her own. That's the best way to go if you can! Hopefully you don't have to wait much longer.

Vicky- I have never leaked before delivery and never had a problem nursing. Everyone's different, that's all. You'll be just fine.

Corrina-- hope your appt. tomorrow is awesome! I have one tomorrow too!

Nothing going on here. I had a crazy busy weekend and I'm so thankful for Monday, when my older 2 are in school and DH is at work. It's just Blake and I. I have done laundry, dishes, and vacuumed 2 levels in my house-- 1 more to go. Oh, and Blake and I went to the library too. Now it's nap time for him, so I can sit. Love it! I have an ultrasound and doctor's appt. tomorrow. The ultrasound is to check the baby's position, again. I know he/she is still breech, but doc is going to check. We'll see what he has to say about it then...

what are you ladies doing for insomnia? my clock is so off. if i go to bed early (9-10p) im up by 11. and then if i try to go to bed after 11 it doesnt happen. then i sleep half the day and im completely wore out. i feel like i cant get anything done. i want to nest but i cant. we are starting our nursery this week (going to pick out paint today) and once its all painted i can start putting everything in its place. ughh im just at my wits end sometimes.

Wish I had an answer for you Tiffany... insomnia just comes with pregnancy, especially towards the end, in my experience. On a much more fun note, YAY for getting the nursery started... wish I could say the same thing. I have been on DH for MONTHS to get our nursery started. I *think* he'll be doing it over our Thanksgiving break (he's a teacher)... well, he BETTER, let's just put it that way.

Tiffany- My best advice is to listen to your body and everything else will take care in time. Thanks for the support girls. I've been feeling like a bum lately. I think I might try to get some cleaning done tonight. Me and the hubs can't sleep in the same room during the week cause I snore too bad. I reallly need to clean our room to make room for the small baby bed. So since he's surfing the couch I might try and get some of it done. Then when the nursery is painted hopefully we can switch spots and I can work on the rest of the house. Maybe I wouldn't feel as bad if I had a job. I feel like theres no reason I shouldn't be doing something.

In baby news: I go for my bi-weekly check up tomorrow. I'm nervous about hitting the scale but there's not much I can do about it. Lil Veston sure is working my nerves these days. He is in my ribs and always on the same side. He also acts like there is a bouncy house in there and will flip up into my ribs a few times in a row. It's the best thing ever to him. Tonight I noticed that my belly looks like it's dropping. Idk if it's too early for that or not. I've been in alot of pain today. Pity party for one please =]

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. Try to take it easy.

Pugmom, (baby hiccups) awesome it IS!

Corinna, it took me off guard….I remember I had just taken a shower and I was sitting on the sofa (not yet dressed on top and I noticed it. Also before that I would tell my husband ??????what is this thing on my white t-shirt.

Vicky, you will be able to breastfeed. With breastfeeding, especially when you baby is born, the baby will be feeding on colostrum (clear liquid). You may not see it, but when baby sucks it comes out. And remember that a baby has the stomach of a grape so a little colostrum goes a long way

JE1014, glad your appointment went well…..I have not felt any Braxton contractions for a long while so it’s making me nervous (the fact that I might be induced in the future)…My mom would always go into labor around 38wks and so I’m hoping/praying same is true for me

Tiffany, sleeping has been hard… Turning & moving everywhere and never feeling comfortable.

Good luck christina!
Hope all the ladies are doing well!

No news from Christina?

Rhonda- how did your appt go???

Hope everyone else is hanging in there!;)

Had my appt this a.m. everything is going well. Measuring 39wks, baby Alexis is estimated about 8lbs. I am 2-3 cm and 75% effaced. I told her not to strip my membranes again because I just don't feel I need it at this point and neither did she. Unfortunately, she is not on call for the next week so, I probably won't have her deliver the baby:( Oh well, she does not feel I'll make it to my 40th wk appt...but, who knows!, she didn't think she would see me today either! :)

Hi everybody!

Corrina-- sounds like you're sooooo close!! Hang in there girl... not much longer!

I had another ultrasound today and follow up appt. with my doctor. Baby is weighing in at 4 lbs. 4 ozs. (50th percentile). Baby looked great and was moving a little, but not as active as usual... must have been nap time. Baby is still breech too-- not a surprise to me. My doctor told me about the external version that could be done, and I'm not having it done. It sounds too risky and doesn't have a very good success rate (only 25% are successful). We have a c-section scheduled for Jan. 11 (the day I'm 39 weeks). He said obviously, if I go into labor before then, well then that will be a c-section too. I'm good with that... but there's still time for baby to flip!!!

corinna
11-24-2010, 07:30 AM
Rhonda- Definitely time for baby to turn! My son didn't until 36wks, and this one until 35wks....babie just sometimes have their own itinery.;)

vicky1979

Pug, I hope baby turns. I had my 32 week appt, still measuring big, now at 34 weeks. Only up 1/2 a pound in 2 weeks, so that was good. Total weight gain = 21 lbs. A co-worker told me yesterday that I either look like I'm having twins or that the baby must be 10 lbs because I am huge. Thanks for that.

Corrina, hopefully your time is coming very shortly.

Tiff, hope the sleeping gets better. I don't sleep in the same room either. I actually sleep on the couch as I find it easier to use the back rest to flip from side to side.

pugmom74
11-24-2010, 02:20 PM
Wells-- I only gained 1 pound and I was so thrilled! At my last appt. (which was 2 weeks ago) I had lost 2.5 lbs.... Love that! I'm up a total of 19 lbs. right now. I know that number will climb, but I'm hoping I can keep my total under 25 lbs. Oh, don't you just love people little comments??? Some people just don't think before they open their mouths! I'm sure you look fabulous!

Tiffany-- I thought that was going to be a great date too, but I got a call from my OB this morning telling me that the schedule is already full that day! Now they've moved me to Wed, Jan. 12... but I don't think I'll make it that long. I delivered my only other pregnancy (#3) at 38 weeks when my water broke and I went into labor on my own. We'll see!!!

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to pop in quickly to say that our daughter Louisa was born on Monday Nov. 22nd at 3:52am. She weighed 7lb 5oz and was 20 inches long.

We just got home from the hospital today, and aside from some swelling and painful stitches (after a minor tear), we're all doing well.

I will try to write a proper birth story in the next few days. Everything happened so quickly. I went to L&D on Sunday afternoon for a routine NST and nothing at all was happening. Then suddenly at 10:30pm that night I had my first real, painful contraction followed by bloody show. We got to the hospital shortly before 1am, and by 4am she was born! It was all uncomplicated and quick, and I'm very grateful.

Anyway, I will try to catch up with how everyone else is doing in the next few days. Looking forward to hearing about more babies! Hope everyone is doing well!

P.S. Congrats Christina!! I just saw that your little girl was born the same day as mine. :)

Happy thanksgiving every1!

And congrats to minipie and christina! They are both beautiful...God bless.....Minipie, you labor was FAST! I pray that I have a labor like yours

pugmom, from what I have seen, the external versions are painful...I've seen pt's cry, but your baby still has time to turn.A pt of mine came in for an nst and her baby was breech because I had the heart monitor really high so an ultrasound was performed.... she was scheduled for an external version the next day. When she came back, the baby was VERTEX and what she told us is she did chair exercises (lifted her butt in the air)....Not advising any1 to do that (risky)

Wellsv, geez sometimes I just want to hit their heads when they make comments like that......They really have no consideration and the fact that we are already hormonal/emotional (U would think they would be more careful with their words) I'm sure you are glowing and they are jealous ;)

JE1014 & corinna, can't wait for your birth stories with baby pics :D

MaryFaith-- I know there's still time for baby to flip... I'm just gonna let "nature" take it's course and see what happens. I have had 2 friends attempt the external versions. Neither were successful and both said it was horrible and wish they had never attempted them. I'll just take the c-section and a healthy baby, thank you very much. I'm actually looking forward to NOT laboring-- not so much fun last time if I recall. :)

Well, my husband and 2 youngest kids are at my SIL's for Thanksgiving. I'm sitting at home, on the computer, because my oldest is sick. He's running a low grade fever and has a ear ache, a nasty cough, and it's congested. Good times... I want turkey.

Mini and Christina, congratulations to you both! Two very beautiful little girls, what an amazing Thanksgiving gift for you both. I hope that you are feeling well and that you enjoy your little girls.
Pug, sorry your oldest was sick. We went to the in-laws, but my brother in-law brought his little kryptonites and now we're all going to get sick probably. I call my nephews the kryptonites because they are seriously always sick. My sister-in-law ate basically nothing while she was preggo, so the kids have the worst immune systems ever. All they did was cough all over the food. I ended up leaving and taking Eli with to my parents.
And I overate, so I threw up the day before and on Thanksgiving. Apparently pie and then drinking 20 oz of water in about 5 minutes was a bad idea. Who knew. Hope you all had lovely turkey holiday!

Wells-- that stinks that your BIL brought his sick kids. That's why I stayed home with Lukas... he was doing ok, but I didn't want to expose the rest of the family (my SIL and her kids) to germs. I would be ticked if she brought her sick kids to my house, so I try to have the same courtesy. Lukas is doing fine today-- no more ear ache or fever, just a lingering cough right now. Sorry you're throwing up again... that stinks.

congrats mini and christina! the girls are so cute!

is anyone else swollen? i started to swell the day before thanksgiving (maybe from thinking about all the yummy food!). i drank plenty of fluid and only really ate at one place (we went to 3). i had a little bit of leftovers when we got home so i dont think i over did it. my mil was pushing on my ankles and they were leaving indentions. i kept my feet up when we got home but it didnt really help much. i woke up with a killer headache and then when i took a nap today i woke up to both of my arms being numb. they are better now but still tender.

wells-that sucks about the sick kids.

pug- glad yours is feeling better. did your hubs bring you some goodies home?

Tiffany-- I haven't started swelling yet, but it's common. I looked back in my preggo journal from Blake and I started swelling around 34 weeks. Rest as much as possible and drink lots of water... but I know you already know that. (((((hugs))))) And yes, hubbie brought home yummy stuff to eat. I was STARVING!

sorry for the ignorance, but what is dtd and tmi??? We did have sex, (if that means one of those), this a.m.....for the first time in like 4 months! Mom and I are doing my belly mold this morning, taking the kids to monkey joes while ben goes christmas shopping w/ his mom and then on another long walk...this time, we decided we need to go farther....we'll see! I really would rather not be induced this week:confused:

DTD= Do The Deed (yes, sex...)

TMI= Too Much Information

Keep up the activity as much as you can... it *should* help! Oh, and how fun to have a belly mold done. I'd love to see pictures of it when it's completed!

Corinna, I have a feeling your little one will make an arrival really soon. But I agree with Rhonda, keep up that activity.
So, I haven't seen any posts from JE, have you? Any word on how she's doing?

corina Good luck! :) I walked every night, too - including the night I ended up going into labor. Even if it doesn't put you into labor, it's good exercise. :)

congrats to the new mommies in here! what an eventful week!

corinna, i know i said it on the moms boards but i hope you are having your baby!

tiffany, i had swelling at the end of my first pregnancy. it is another wonderful side effect.

hope everyone else is doing well! i passed my 3hr gtt so i am feeling so much better about everything lately. we moved dd out of the nursery and into a big girl bed so that when baby 2 comes she doesn't feel like the baby took over her stuff. she is doing wonderful in it and we get to get started on the nursery again....

Tiffany- If you are having bad headaches, swelling a numbness, I would go somewhere and get my blood pressure checked ASAP, if I were you. Those were all symptoms I had when I was starting with Preeclampsia with my first (and it is more common to get it with your first). I would rather be safe and get it checked out. Swelling can be completely normal but if it is a lot and comes on quickly with other symptoms like headaches or seeing spots or even being numb (that's what my perinatologist told me because I had never seen being numb as a symptom) then it's important to get checked out just in case. Just my two cents.
I was lucky and my mild preeclampsia started at about 32 weeks but we were able to keep it under control until 37 because we caught it early and it didn't start any earlier. It started getting bad just before 37 weeks and I was induced right at 37 weeks and had a healthy baby girl. I just needed to be watched closely (for the last three weeks they were checking my BP and urine for protein daily).

Honey-- glad the transition for your little girl went so well. All of my boys have transitioned very easily into "big boy beds" too. Isn't it exciting to work on the nursery again?? We just ordered new carpeting for the nursery and will be painting it within the next 2 weeks. I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished product!
