Hey I was wondering if anyone has done femera. I just did my first cycle of it. I went to the doctor today, I have the perfect lining for implatation, i also developed a 17mm follicle. Doctor said everything is perfect. He said to Bbaby dance on friday. Then saturday morning i take my trigger shot (ovidrel) and then baby dance on sunday. I did 4 rounds of clomid and it did nothing. I ovulated three time and then nothing the 4th time. My doctor refered me to a fertility specalist, he decided it time for femera. He wanted to do IUI but we decided to try time sex before we go into IUI. I also have PCOS. I hope everything goes great this month and we get our baby. Has anyone else done femera?:D

I am on the femara trial this month also. I had several failed attempts with clomid, never got O. So was also refered to the RE who said we would begin with the femara and see if I responded. When I went for my US I had 2 follies a 18 & a 17. So obviously I was responding! So I did the ovidrel shot. I got mixed up on the times when they told me to BD, but am thinking that we prob still caught it in time atleast I'm hopeful. Now I'm in the LONG 2WW period. I should be able to test next week and I'm hoping to see that BFP! :) Well baby dust to you and I hope this month will work out for you also.

Hey there, I'm about to start Femara TODAY. I'm a little nervous about it. All the information you get with this med is scary. This side effects and of course the fact that the drug isn't made for fertility purposes. My dr prescribed this after one round of Clomid which caused TOO MUCH of a reaction from my ovaries. This doesn't make much sense to me, but I'm trusting the dr. Anyone have any related stories about this med?

I should be able to test next week and hope to see that.

Femara is often prescribed to treat certain types of cancer including breast cancer after hormone receptor-positive advanced breast cancer and surgery that is either hormone receptor positive or hormone receptor for which is unknown.

Thanks for the sharing your story. Femera is Brand name letrozole, oral anti-estrogen. Femara produced inhibition of aromatase in the adrenal gland, thereby reducing estrogen levels. This is the Femera and this one is not a big issue.

Thanks for the sharing. For the treatment of postmenopausal women with advanced breast cancer drug. Femara causes the body to make estrogen decrease in the amount. It belongs to a family known as aromatase inhibitors. Also known as letrozole.

I did 3 rounds of Clomid earlier this year and had no ovulation on 50 and 100 mg. Then on round 3, 150mg, I finally O'd CD 25. My obgyn said that response wasn't good enough so she put me on 2.5 (lowest dose) of Femara and that month I ovulated on CD 20 with very high (26) progesterone level at 7 dpo. You'll see from my siggy that I'm not TTC anymore but it will be my first choice when I get back to TTC. And yes, it is still somewhat controversial as it's not primarily for fertility but I've known several women to get pregnant using it. It's also said to have a better success rate for women with PCOS who may not respond so well to Clomid :)

christien, i just took it and now i'm taking it again with a higher dose. it's not bad, at least for me. side effects are very mild. especially in comparison to clomid. :)

I just finished my 1st course of Femara - I've had good successful ovulations with clomid but no pregnancies, and the clomid crazies BIG TIME... So took my 5th and final does of Femara lastnight and then today I have big time breakthrough bleeding... I called my fertility clinic and they don't seem too concerned since I had a cyst on my right ovary on CD3 that needed to come down in size before starting this cycle, so I didn't start with the Femara until CD 11 or something, but still, it's too early for a period, yeah?
Any insight?

UPDATE: Femara caused me to have irregular uterine bleeding... so no more for me!! :) Back to the Clomid-crazies!
