You go Lisa  you are on the ball! Piper's birthday is in a week  she got some presents today from her grandma and great grandma. Will have to post some pics. It was funny too. She was pulling out the tissue paper and just tossing it aside to see what else was in the bag. She got a newborn cabbage patch doll, new shoes and books--2 come with a cd that tells the story.

I cant believe Piper is almost 1!
Seems just like yesterday we were on the preggers board together. hehe
We got home from sisters a bit ago. Just been relaxin since.
Gave Porkchop a bath and fed her....now shes sleeping...hopefully it will last till the morning.
Well af update. Yesterday I got red blood..enough to wear a bad. Its been very light...today I had more cramps and had to wear a pad again. So I am considering this af. Im anxious to see if I have one next month.
It was a month and a half ago since I stopped boob feeding...so this is kinda on time. We shall see I suppose.

Well Hannah's been fighting this cough for almost 2 weeks now last night she started complaining her ear hurt. This morning she woke up at 1am complaining and at 630 she had a fever of 102.4 tried to get into the emergency ped but couldn't he perscribed some antibiotics till Monday when we can see our regular ped. All day she has done nothing but lay around and her fever is 103.8 (after many doses of tylenol and ibuprophen) and she refuses to drink any pedialyte no matter how well I mix it or try to hide it. I am freaking out I feel a trip to the ER coming on  We only need to make it till Monday at 930am!!!

I have to take Cohen for his shots this week. UGH!
My man comes back on Friday...I can't wait! I just want this week to fly by! He's on some silly hike in Tasmania for three days. He flies back to Melbourne on Wednesday and should start the drive back to Sydney on Thursday. I've really been missing him! He's called every night except last night since he was on a hike and there's no mobile phone reception. I should get a call again sometime Tuesday I'm assuming.
I'm on holidays for two weeks...yipeeee........tomorrow I'm going to the beach with mum. Tuesday I'm getting my new diamond ear rings designed (I'm using my engagement ring for one ear ring and buying a second diamond of the same quality)...within 10 days I could have those! Wednesday no plans and Thursday I have to clean my house. Friday my man should be home...............three weks away has almost killed me! I'm not sure I'll make it through the next 4 or so days!!!!!!!!!!!

hey guys i'm back finally...Hi LM need your address, please IM it to me...have sumthin i HAVE to send you!!!
okay my car is going to cost $2700 to fix maybe more depending on what else may have broke...so it's been garaged for a while shile we save money...blah blah blah...anyway i'm over it...not i hav eto work more overtime...da** just got away from that..oh well hence the wonders of supermoms
anyway...WB#2i think LM's right you may want to take her to ER if that fever won't break...i just got off work from our ER and we are already admitting kids with the "flu" and pnuemonia...it's scary we haven't even gotten any bad weather yet but from what I understand there is already a BAD viral strain going around in young kids...and fevers taht won't break are nothing to play around with they can cause so much other stuff in the long run...maybe try a cool bath and take all her clothes off(esp...socks) and see if that brings it down...if not I would at least try to get her pediatrician or one from his/her office on call to call you so you can tell them whats going on...
gosh there i go again babbling...sorry going to bed now talk tomorrow!!!

I am a EMT and nursing student so I am/was not freaked out but was dreading going to the ER since we have been such frequent fliers there over the years. I guess you go through all the surgeries and medical stuff like we did and a little ole fever isnt so big in the grand scheme of things. Usually its 104 before its a true emergency we were awfully close. I have talked to the ped 3 times today so he's monitoring and so are we. We opted to do the ibuprofen/tylenol mix and it worked she's down to 101 plus she had her first dose of antibiotic. She drank alot more this evening only ate 3 grapes and the chocolate off of a doughnut which was okay because at least it was something. She actually was playing tonight and singing so I know she is feeling a tiny bit better. I have my alarm set for midnight to do another dose of tylenol and fever check. I am feeling a little better but after a few hours of the temp rising I just thought for sure it wasn't gonna break. Thank god it did. So going to hit the hay since I only have a couple hours till I have to be up. I am sooo tired from day 2 of the garage sale and luckily got some energy back from heading into T2 this pregnancy. Grandma is coming to take care of Hannah in the a.m so I can sleep in woo hoo. When she is sick she will only take me or grandma not even daddy will do. Take care all.

Second time round thing sare so much easier! Cohen had the runs and was throwing up last week was still soooooooooooo happy. I think it was teething. I had been through this before with Kel when he was little and Cohen just after their dad left. I did what the Dr had said to do then and it settled down without a trip to the Dr. We are now behind with immunisation which sucks! Need to get that done this week.
It's my high school 10 year reunion next Saturday.
Well, my new man is still walking some stupid mountain. Since he has no mobile phone access there I am feeling a little bit "ACK" and trying to assume everything is fine. He has said some very nice things to me about myself and his feelings so far for me. It's been strange - we both just had this instant connection. VERY weird!

HAPPY OCTOBER LADIES!!! The leaves are changing here in the backwoods. hehehehehe I love being back in the holler without any neighbors close by. DH and I can "play" in the yard and no one knows except for the birds! :D :D We went to Penny's yesterday (1.5 hrs away, the only thing that sucks about living in the sticks) and I got their Christmas catalog. I am soooooo disappointed! When I was growing up it was such a big deal and now there is hardly anything in it! They don't even have Christmas dresses for babies.....grrrrr... I know it is a stupid thing to be sad about, but I am
We went to Ryan's to eat and I am so proud of myself! I did very good and did not even have dessert. But I did eat a cookie at the mall. So we will see if my good behavior pays off when I weigh in tomorrow. Ok - on to a few personals!
Lisamarie - Heeeeeellllllooooo!!!! How are you feeling today?
Hannah - Hey super lady!! I love that idea about your earrings! Very cool!! Have fun at the beach!
WB#2 - How is your little one? Hope she is feeling better and that you got some rest!
Terra - I cannot believe that Piper is getting ready to turn 1! Where did all the time go??? Are you ready for her party?
TJ - sorry about your car! That sucks! What do you all have to do when you work in the ER?
ugghhhh...I think Emily is making me a muddy diaper...be back shortly

Hey Krissy...
I know exactly what you mean about the Penneys catalog. I remember when I was younger Id sit down and wear the pages thin lookin at the toys and stuff. They dont have much anymore. It is a bummer.
I would LOVE not to have any neighbors see us. I pray on the next house we can get more land. We cant afford alot because land around here is outragous, but at leat 5 acres would be nice. IF we go farther south we can..but I dont want to live where we dont know anyone.
Hehee..so you and dh were 'playin' in the yard eh? You mean nekkid??? LOL!
Ive been meaning to ask you. How many classes do you take a week? Are you working?

good morning/afternoon...where ever you are
i am up been fighting it for a while actually...my eyes are all cruddy this a.m. and my last two contacts for my L eye have decided not to cooperate so i have one of my R eye ones in the L eye and they aren't the same RX (the L is worse) so i cant see evenly and it is pi$$ing me off...
otherwise i am home and in a good mood, regardless of last week's happenings
Krissy (lovebug)...i luv working in the ER it gives me a chance to C things that aren't that common in the field, not to mention that the Docs are more than willing to educate U on anything U want to know...we are able to do everything the RNs do minus certain restricted drugs, but that doesn't bother me cause they are drugs that even i don't want to play with  ...we do assessments, pt. care, blood draws, IVs, just about anything that is required to make patient better, i am invovled in (i love assisting the docs with procedures) and it gives me a chance to interact with all types of people and situations (some i don't care for and they break my heart but U take good with bad)
I luv my job as a firefighter but there I am always a firefighter 1st, at the hospital i get to see the other side of it...it's good money and it is very educational...
GOOD MORNING LISA M.!!!!!!
where's everyone at this a.m.!?!?!?!?!
i'm going to make P&Ds w/ham (peas & dumplings) today YUMMY!

I did a big tidy up yesterday. Finished getting rid of James' things from the garage. I then moved stuff around and opened up space so a car can fit in there. I have a double garage and it was beocming a junk collector on both sides! James has a few things to take and then we are home free. I have a new lounge coming this week I hope and a week after that my new little table and chairs for the lounge/dining area. I have a formal dining area but this area has never been used as a combined lounge/dinining area and I'd like to. The dining area of my lounge just becomes a really blah area.
I have also made space for my new fellow to have some areas that are his...somewhere to leave his thigns ya know? I am getting a bit freaked thoughbecause now i've done this if he comes back from Melbourne and doesn't wanna be withme, I will feel stupid. He really wanted me to be open with him and to make room for him emotionally in my life and i am feeling insecure cuz I am opening up in various ways. UGH!

I love my baby and I love holding him but I would like to get some sleep by myself and maybe even some catch up time with DH. LOL, well love you ladies and I will have to try to get on here more. If only DH can give me an hour of ME TIME!

Can't believe it's October already!
Jamie- You and Aiden are both cuties! He just can't be the baby who's robbed you of so much sleep. Looks too cute and innocent. :)
Lisa- Did you have a good time with your sis in Ky? Maybe next time you are down we can try to get together!
Hannah- Is your new guy going to be your date for your reunion?
Mel- I hope you get that hour to yourself. :)
WB#2- Glad to hear Hannah is starting to feel better.
Terra- Hard to believe Piper is turning 1 already!
DH and I prepped my parents' deck for a new stain this weekend. My uncle let us borrow his industrial power washer and I must say we went a little nuts with it. I had no idea those things were so much fun. :)
DH is out with the guys. My muscles are all sore from the power washing. I think the kids and I are going to turn in early.

No I understand you weren't being bossy. Just wanted to let you know I wasn't that idiot parent  I love the patients that come in my kid has been puking and running a fever and not peeing but it took me 3 days to bring her in. Hannah has had 6 surgeries plus 99 days in the nicu, and rotovirus and numerous ER visits so I am pretty in tune with her if she complains about something it is something. Luckily we have an awsome pediatrician but some of the other docs in the practice are idiots. Luckily the guy on call this weekend was cool. She sees her regular doc in the morning. He's like family now. She's doing so much better I hate when my baby is sick its so pitiful. Maybe now I can get some sleep.

I can't believe it's October already. And that I only have TWO MORE WEEKS OF MATERNITY LEAVE. OMG it has gone by fast. I used to be the one at work who'd roll my eyes when women would come back from maternity leave talking about how hard it is to return. That is soooo me.
I went to Home Depot today to look at lighting and guess what they have? All these Halloween yard decorations. You know the ones they have at Christmas time, the snowglobe things? The have them for Halloween. They were so awesome!!! I collect snowglobes and i want one so bad, but couldn't find the prices, arrgghh... Gotta go back anyway with dh.

Red-Those snowglobe things.....Our Home Depot they were like 79. Then at Big Lots they had one for 60. They are adorable.
I remember Michele bought a Christmas one lastyear and someone stole hers out of her yard. And thats when they were really expenisvie.

Lisa - Ill get some new pics of him. He is very good looking...and not bad in the bedroom...hehehehehe...he says once you go a MILF you never go back. Nice after being with a gay man to be considered the best sexual partner someone has had.
Nobody get sassy on me. I'm taking some time out religion wise for many reasons and just being free to be me. I was suicidal before I began dating. Lots of the comments my ex husband has made about my sexual ability has forced me to re examine my femininity and sexuality......
The kids sleep is ALL of tonight cuz we went to the beach and they spent a while in the car....UGH!

Ok... it's October, and I'm going to try to keep up. I'm probably just going to have to give up on reading the last half of September. Maybe eventually I'll get it done.
LM I like fall. It's not so much October but just fall. I love the cool nights and crisp mornings. Mid 70s and sunny is PERFECT weather to me.
Terra are you getting excited about Piper's birthday? I hope you all have a ton of fun!!!
Wanting glad to hear Hannah is feeling better. Sounds like she might have an ear infection to me. Hope they figure it out this morning.
Krissy I remember the Penney's catalog when I was little too. I used to go through it and circle what I wanted Santa to bring. Do you have a Macy's near you? I ran into our's yesterday to exchange a couple of sleepers I got Arianna. They had some real cute Christmas dresses. I didn't have time to shop, but I plan on going back later this week to look.
Jamie the pic of you and Aiden is great. He looks so sweet!
Leanna as you know I'm behind in reading. Are you all in the new house yet? How is school going for Bonnie?
Michelle maternity leave does go by too fast. I wish the US was like other countries that have longer maternity leaves. I had a horrible time when I went back to work. It does get better with time though.
In trying to do some reading in September I saw where congrats are in order for Pauly. Please try to keep us up to date on how you're doing.
Bella it does sound like thrush in Gabby's mouth. You should get it checked if it isn't better and you haven't yet. It can get VERY painful for a baby. Also if it is thrush you better have the pain you've been having in your breasts checked too.
Arianna's party went great on Saturday. We had about 30 people there. Arianna was excellent. Our business manager came up to me this morning and said I just want to tell you what a sweet baby you have. She went on and on about how good she was and how sweet she is. It made me feel good. I posted some pics on the picture thread.
I'm worn out from the party. I said next year we are having pizza. I had a full fledge meal. I cooked a ham, baked spaghetti, potato casserole, green beans, corn and the cakes (pics on the picture thread). My mom made macaroni salad, cheese balls and mac & cheese. My friend made a seven layer salad. The only things I flubed on was I forgot to make the mashed potatos (mainly for kids as the adults had potato casserole), and I forgot to buy ice cream. All in all I think I did pretty good. I am NOT the hostess with the mostess.
We go for her one year check up today and shots. We've decided to hold off on the chicken pox shot. We will revisit it later though.
Well I better run. It's so hard for me to post where I'm sitting right now. It's real out in the open. I can't WAIT until this remodel is over and we have our new girl here. Between the remodel and having to do the work of two people, I am going to pull my hair out.

Ugh! I have been up since about 5:15 and so has Mason. He usually sleeps late or will go back to sleep after a feeding that early, but not this morning. I even put him in his stroller at 7:30 and we went for a walk around the neighborhood, usually that puts him to sleep. But noooo. I don't think I'll go at that time again anyway. There is way too much traffic and everybody's sprinklers seem to be on. lol I'm *trying* to have my coffee.
LisaMarie - I love those yard snowglobe things! WE moved into our house at Thanksgiving last year and a really good friend of mine bought one for me. Never even put it up. We were practically out of town ever weekend during December. It's wstill in the box. I think I might have to have one for Halloween!

Morning Ladies!!
It's just beautiful weather here -- very tough to get out of bed this morning. I wanted to snuggle for a few more minutes (okay == hours).
I won't try too many personals, since I've not been on for four days. Would be much too difficult and I'd probably screw them up anyways.
I hope all of the sick babies are feeling better and mommies are getting some sleep. Sounds like everyone is busy, busy.
I did want to say to Hannah == no judgement from Georgia. :D I think it's great that you're enjoying some MILF time with your new man. Sounds like he's enjoying it a bit, too
We had a crazy weekend:
We did make it to the fair on Thursday night. No, Lovebug -- I wasn't counting points either  . We had corn dogs, fries, popcorn and funnel cake. I did see something that I must try in my future, though. Like a "to do before 40" sorda thing. A fried snickers!! Oh yes, that's a healthy snack :)
Matt enjoyed -- he liked the lights and running around. Although, he did fall down and skin his knuckles. He recovered quickly. DH won him a little cow-toy. He liked the animals, too. The camel was his favorite.
I did see something you could probably only see in rural-georgia!! There was a trashy-lingerie booth at the fair. Why? I don't know? Anyways, they had these white thongs with "git 'r done" written across the front. My first reaction was, "oh my, I have to get those for LisaMarie!!". But, when I thought about it, I figured she already had a pair
Friday was a bit of a disaster. Matt's doing this thing where he's switching around naps and bedtime. He used to be like clockwork, but as he's entering toddler-hood, he's skipping a nap here and there and pushing back bedtime. I have no problems, as long as he's not cranky. That wasn't the case on Friday!! We went to the store and he was fine, then we went to get his pictures taken and they took forever...so he was totally pissy. We ended up leaving. I went immediately to the park for him to run around and wear himself out. Got a good nap in after all of that.
Thankfully, a secret pal sent me some wonderful halloween things. Thanks, Ms. Secret...the timing couldn't have been better. I love what you sent :D
On Saturday, we watched our football game and then went to the neighbors to tear down that swing set that they gave us. It wasn't as bad as we thought...was 3 hours to tear down and move into our yard. Will re-assemble it over the winter. I got covered with mosquito bites  , but totally impressed DH with climbing around and using tools!!
And yesterday, we went to the Atlanta Home Show. I just love seeing home-improvement stuff. Even if I cannot afford it  . Matt was fussy, so I found a dum-dum sucker in one of the jars of candy that the exhibitors bring. I thought he'd play with it, but no -- this child unwrapped it, popped it in his mouth and licked it until it was gone. How on earth do they know?? Must be instinct. He was too funny -- must buy some of those for emergency situations!!
Luckily, he's loving tooth-brushing now. So, we brush them three times a day. Leslie -- yes, Matt grinds his teeth. Sounds terrible!! Not sure why!?!
Gotta run...but will try to get back today :)

i made the mistake of feeling bad this a.m...had some bad arthritis attacks throughout night (better now but it cut in sleep time)...so i got Haylie up and laid back down while she got her shower and dressed(i left door open so i could hear her)...then i got up fixed her breakfast took some meds and got dressed...grocery list in hand, feed store list in hand, and coffee to go, was gonna walk for 1 hour then shop after i put her on the bus, right?...WRONG...the flippin bus never came...i had to call a friend (who's child gets picked upafter mine) who said Austin hadn't been picke dup yet either and she was gonna be late for work...then the school was absolutley no help (he might be runnin late) any way i had to take them to school, dogs in tow, no walk and now i am an hour behind on housework and i have errands to run and work at 3p...so i am in hurry sorry bout lack of personals
hannah...we'll keep you company till he get back hehe!
arianna's pics are adorable BTW, i do the sam with menu's every year say i'm not gonna overdo it and i always do!

RANT coming!
Ok so I can't decide if I even want to keep babysitting...I don't mind having her here, but what I do mind is when she comes over and still DARK outside! If they could bring her over at 9 we could be peachy, but I just don't think I can handle this 7am bull**** for much longer. I feel like pulling my hair out too! I don't know why this is stressing me out so much. I'm used to having lots of babies at work with no problems. But she is whiney and fussy in the morning and will only take a 30min nap at most early on. Later she will sleep for an hour. But today she had Piper up at 8:25 too. At this point I just think it's becoming more trouble than it's worth. I like the extra $$ though. We don't have to have it, but it's helping us get out of debt quicker. Oh and John finally called about how much they are paying me now and that we think we need a daily fee. So John told him (wife's outta town) that I wanted $30 a day. He said that was fine. They talked a little more about football and hung up. No joke, like 30sec later the phone rings and it's him. Um I just did the math in my head and if she watches the baby everyday that comes to $600/month. Duh--and he said that was fine the 1st time LOL I never watch her everyday of the month anyway. But $25/day comes out to less than my flat fee should be now--if I don't watch her everyday. And if I watch her for 9 hrs for only $25, that comes out to $2.77 an hour! Who would work for that. And if they didn't know us, would they pay someone that to watch their baby? I seriously doubt it. And even $30 a day comes out to $3.33/hr. John said, well if they don't want a monthly fee and don't want to pay by the day, just charge them by the hour...they don't want that. Because I would charge probably $5/hr X 9hrs is $45. So really now what's the best way to do this? or is it even possible to make both sides happy? Maybe if she was older, $25 would be ok, but babies are a lot of work--we all know that. I don't know what to do. I would rather still be friends than to take their money. But do you think they would be upset if I just quit? And it's not even about the money--I think I'm going stir crazy. Need to get out of the house more and stop getting up when it's dark.
And the other thing is this random idea--my BF and I are seriously preparing to write a book. It's crazy, but we both feel that we "need" to do this. You know when you get a nagging feeling about something that you could do? We have a great idea for a story and actually started kicking around ideas last night. She is a great writer and I think we could really get this story published. But honestly, if we are going to do this, then she will need my time. I won't be able to do both. So when this really gets going, hopefully soon, I don't think I can continue babysitting anyway. I'm thinking about giving my BF and I a couple weeks to get this project off the ground and then reconsider my options. There is no way I can or am willing to do both full time. I can either babysit parttime like 3 days a week and give the other 1/2 of my week to the book. I won't work on the book full time either, because it's not fair to Piper if I try to work full time and take care of her. So probably just when she's napping or with John. But I actually had to get out of bed last night to write down some good story ideas before I forgot them :D I am not good at writing, but can get some good ideas going. She is great with words, so I really believe this will work.
Ok enough about me--Piper is done with breakfast and ready to play. I'll be back for personals soon. Sorry that was sooooo long!

Terra-I was the same way when I babysat. I honestly would stop sitting....it will end up ruinin your friendship. I would make myself sickwhen I would break down how much I was actually getting an hour. Geez..

10-02-2006, 11:07 AM
yeah I know--don't get much more than that working in the daycare! But really, I only watched her for 14 days last month. So when you break it down at $30 it comes to $420 and they paid me (or were supposed to pay me) $450. I don't watch her everyday so I don't see the 30 bucks being such a big deal. I would really like to just watch her part time--3 days a week and I would be happy and could still do the book.

Terra ~ I think you should point that out to them, so they realize that really, they aren't going to end up spending as much as they think.
Okay mom's...Any suggestions for first week home meals? I was thinking of making a grocery list and having my MIL go for me the day before I think we will be released so we don't have to worry about that, but I was trying to think of some relatively easy meals that DH will be able to make...He's not much of a chef...

Happy Monday ladies!
Hope that everyone is happy and healthy. I just have a minute to post. Emily is getting sleepy and I have to study for a Math quiz today. SUCH FUN!!! Ok, does anyone else have this problem....Emily is very mobile now and it is like hog-tieing a calf trying to put a diaper on her! Any suggestions other than velcro? She hates diapers and clothes (I swear I am raising a streaker...must be payback for my younger years  ) I'm open to any suggestions..... I cannot type today for some reason so please look over any boo-boos
Lisamarie - Howdy! Hope you coffee helped you. God knows I needed it this morning, too. I have never actually been nekkid in the yard, however, I was wearing a skirt one time and DH and I.....hehehehehe you get the idea. It was a pleasant experience. But we are no strangers to the outdoors. You know how it is when you first start DTD, you do it anywhere. I think I am part-tramp. Pretty bad since DH was my first and only. I think I scare him sometimes!
Hannah - Hope the week passes quickly for you!! :D
Ceskow - Hamburger Helper....lol Hope everything goes smoothly!!
Terra - What are they thinking? SHeesh. My mom is a Nanny and she makes $18/hr. But she lives in the city. No way would anyone make that where I live. Hope that everything works out for you!
TJ - HI!!!! Hope your **** goes smoothly.
Ok, Emily is getting super fussy and saying momma momma moomma!!! Be back in a bit

Lovebug -- yes, I wrestle Matt most of the time to change him. He thinks it's really funny!! I give him a favorite toy to distract him and that seems to help. He has a book that reads to him (nursery rhymes) and lights up. He loves it -- will keep him busy while I'm changing his diaper. Other than that, we have a nekkid boy running around the house (a very dangerous situation  ) most of the time :)

Christy - My mom stayed with us the first week. She also brought abunch of stuff that she had cooked prior to coming to our house and she froze. So we had a weeks worth of frozen stuff, like lasagna, smoothered steak, meatballs (and then just made spagehtti to go with). Mainly if you have someone staying let them cook, let them clean. My biggest thing was I am so anal it was hard for me to just "let go" of my house and let someone else take care of it. Hell, my mom is worse than me and dh lives there too! Just take care of you and baby. Don't feel guilty about taking naps.

10-02-2006, 12:08 PM
Hey Ladies-
I need a weekend from the weekend and I have a squirt that will not nap! UGH!!!!!
Ceskow - Make meals ahead of time (lasagna, soup, casseroles plus sandwich fixins') etc....We had a lot of neighbors and family bring us food after we got home from the hospital. We didn't even have to worry about cooking. My DH likes to cook though so I never had to worry about him at all.
Terra - I've never babysat for friends like you are, but honestly, I wouldn't want to do it. In the end I think it will stress out your friendship and you won't get enough satisfaction. Maybe if you tell them only PT then they will find someone else for the other 2 days and then you'll slowly transition out of it all together (or they'll realize that you are giving them a good deal). GL with your decision. I'd rather write the book myself.......
Leslie - for Audrey's party we are just doing appetizers (simple) cake and ice cream. I even put join us for cake and ice cream on the invite so people wouldn't come hungry and ready to stay all day/night.
Fried snickers sounds really gross..............
LM - feel better.
Audrey's up - gotta run

Ok, I am back. Emily is taking a nap (THANK YOU GOD) and I am waiting on DH to call. Back to personals....
TJ - I meant to say I hope your SHIFT goes smoothly!
Lisamarie - You asked yesterday how many classes I am taking. I am taking 3 classes during the evenings on M, Tues, Wed. I am taking a Math class, Public Speaking and General Psychology. I am not working outside of the home, but do help out my MIL everyday. She has been paying our light bill for the past several months as a "payment" for all that I do. Of course, she also buys us food, Emily diapers and clothes.....she gives us more than we deserve. Things are still tight money-wise, but we are making it. My parents help us alot, too. Money keeps appearing in our bank acct. We are very blessed with our parents.
Leslie - I loved those pictures. Everything looked so lovely! Where did you find her party supplies at? You did a friekin' fantasic job on the decorating!!!!!
WB#2 - How is your little one today? Hope you all are doing well!
Jamie - You and your little man are absolutely adorable!!!!
Leanna and Sarah - HI!!!!!
Red - Are you perked up any yet? Isn't coffee a miracle??? I would hook mine up IV style if I could!
Hi Cristen!!
Tracy - sounds like you all had an awesome time at the fair! We have tried everything w/Emily to distract her. She can pull up now and most of the time I have to put her diaper on w/her standing up! I swear putting a diaper on her should be an Olympic event....and I would not even win the bronze!! lol
Well, I am going to take a shower -whoo hoo!!! Take care everyone and God Bless!!

Christy--Anything that can be taken from the freezer and thrown into the over is a plus. There's always take out that could be one night. Ham. helper is a staple food here, spaghetti is easy, mac n cheese, sandwiches...hope you find something he can cook :D
Krissy--I've been having the same problems. Piper doesn't wiggle on the changing table, but instead screams like I'm pulling off a limb  I am gonna try the toy thing. One toy that the only time she gets to play with it is on the table. Might use a new bday toy for that. Good luck--let me know if you find any other solutions. At work we hook a string to the ceiling and dangle a toy right above them. That is perfect, but haven't figured out how to do that here.
TJ--What am I supposed to be cooking?
Ok so I think it's hilarious that I was censored to bull poo earlier LOL I'm feeling better now. She's been an angel today. But I am thinking about p/t--3 days at $30 no less. We live in a very stuck up/rich suburb community (we don't fit well LOL ) but I know the going rate around here is probably $40-$45 a day! I might eventually stop watching her alltogether and go back to the daycare once a week. They would love that. They are begging me for Th. and Fri this week. And Mon is mandatory training day. I can deal with 3 paid days from them on top of my babysitting money.

Never boinked Johnny Depp, but maybe I'll add that to my "must do before age ##", too  I think it'll be more likely that I eat the fried snickers, though!!
Just worked out. Man, do I feel better. I did gain 3 pounds in September. Who knew -- birthday cake does have fat / calories!?! A little of that was (.), though. But, I'll claim atleast half of it. Ran and walked today, so hopefully that'll put me on a healthy-cycle for a while. It felt good, so I'm optimistic!!
Terra -- those hourly salaries are terrible. I'd consider making some changes, too. The book idea sounds neat! What kinds of books??
As for easy meals for DH, we did chili, lasagne, sandwich-stuff and things he could grill. He's not much of a cook, either. But, he can use the microwave and follow directions. My parents and friends brought over things for a few weeks, too -- and it was a HUGE help.

Hi Guys!
I just wanted to reintroduce myself to those who remember me from the pregnancy boards and say hi to all of you who have older kids and don't know me. My name is Ema and I had twin boys 2 weeks ago after 3 years of trying and 4 rounds of IVF. Jack and Archie were born on September 15th at 35 weeks 3 days. Both are home and doing well!
I've been trying to BF once a day and have been pumping and bottle feeding about 80% of their feedings. I've had to suppliment with formula but I think 80% breast milk with twins is pretty good! They get to tired to BF well so I don't know whether I'll be able to switch to it entirely (plus I need sleep).
Anyway, I still have my FIL helping out til the end of the week and then my parents arrive for 2 weeks so I'm doing pretty well considering. When everyone leaves I'll start panicking but until then I'm enjoying my sons and having fabulous meals cooked for me and getting my laundry done too!
Reality will strike in 3 weeks.... 3 weeks and counting!!! :? :?
I haven't been able to read everyones posts but I will at least read October's so I can get started on getting to know everyone.

Good evening ladies!
We were at my parents this weekend and my mom got sick while we were there. She called today to tell me it is strep throat. GREAT! I am so terrified that Gav will get it.
Lisamarie~ I say a little prayer every night that Gavin will sleep...it works sometimes!
TJ~ We went to a fair last year that had the fried oreos but I didnt try them...next time I may have to.
Ema~ Who could forget you? Congrats again on those precious boys! Also, congrats of the bfing! It was hard enough getting used to it with one. That is great that your family is there to help. Will you be going back to work?
Hannah~ You wont get any judgements from me....I cant imagine what I would do in your situation so I cant judge you. Plus, it sounds like you are having a good time with the new man so more power to ya!
So, I got my secret buddy something but I keep forgetting to take it with me when I go out and the darn post office is like 12 miles from here. It is the only thing I have to do tomorrow and darn it...it is getting done!

Terra - That is funny that you and BF are going to write a book- My Best Friend and I have been planning the same thing over the last two years (It actually more of a conference and curriculum for teenage girls on love, dating, friendship, self esteem etc.) Sadly though it is on hold while BF works out some issues with her DH (they just split) Well see if we get back to it-I may have to go it alone from here on out though.
Pauly- You are smart to just do the cake and Ice cream thing for A's b-day. That was my original plan with Anna's 1st b-day but I kinda went overboard and invited 75 people to our 1100 sqft house  most of them showed up too! Then I made 3 cakes and 48 cupcakes from scratch  I think next year I will have to scale it down a tad LOL! It did turn out super cute though- We did a Parisian theme(to match her pink and chocolate brown Paris style bedroom) with pink poodles and her cake had an eiffle tower ornament on it. It was fun!
Here are some pics of her cakes- One of them has a chunk out of it because i accidentally dropped something on the edge of the cake LOL but after all that work I served it anyway LOL!

Ok i just ate a huge piece of cheescake and after looking at the deep fried snickers it was everthing I could do not to hurl across my computer screen! LOL Good thing I didn't cause it probably would have come flying back at me and that would not have been fun!
Hannah - Maybe when your beau comes back you can show him how much you missed him and play "nurse" since he spained his ankle! LOL!
Welcome Ema- Wow twin boys! What a double blessing! You are supermom to keep up nursing twins! Good Job
TJ- I could do with chocolate dipped oreos but I don't know about deep fried! Does the batter make them soggy?
LM- I will pray you feel better soon! It's no fun when momma is sick. You don't just get to call in sick to work like DH does- Hopefully you will get some needed rest tonight!
Kelli- Don't you just love it when you spend the day with someone and at the end of the day they start talking about how sick they were the night before?! (That just happened to us today) I'll pray Gavin will be alright. Man, I hate waiting to see if your kids are going to come down with something. We still have one more week to go to find out if Anna will get the chicken pox. Praying not!
Well most of Noah's chicken pox have scabbed over but he still has one or two stubborn ones that won't go away. It looks like he will miss out on school this week too since they have Thurs and Fri off:roll: I know it is only Kindergarten but I am worried that he is going to miss too much school. He has missed 9 days already and will miss another 5 days at the beginning of Nov. (We get to go on our FIRST EVER family vacation! whoo hoo) It's not like he will be behind academically. (He is already reading at a 2nd grade level) I just don't want the school to put up a fuss. Guess there will be no attendance awards for us
Well ladies I need to be off. It's 9:49 and noah is still running amuck in his bedroom and Dh is on the phone- So off I go to throw the little monster in bed and then crawl into a hot shower before I head off to bed myself.
Sweet Dreams and God Bless

Hi everyone! Let me try to do personals!
Buttercup- Those cakes are beautiful. For Leata's first birthday we had a bbq and about 40 people came. My sister made a cake and a lot of cupcakes. We had a lot of fun.
I hope that those stubborn chicken pox scab over soon. I also hope that Anna does not get the chicken pox. That would be no fun at all! Where are you going in November. I may be going to England for most of November. I will talk more about that later though.
Medic- What are the fried oreos like? I am sure there are so many calories in them that you can't even count them! I hope that your cramps go away soon.
Kelli- I hope Gavin doesn't get strep. That wouldn't be fun. I hope that you don't get it either.
Lisamarie- I hope that Emma is sleeping well now. It's hard enough on normal nights when they keep getting up but it's terrible when you aren't well. I hope that you get better soon.
Ema- Glad to hear that your boys are doing well. It's great that you are able to breastfeed with twins. It sounds like you are doing well. It must be nice to have family to come and help you out.
Hannah- I hope that the next few days go by quickly for you. Don't worry. I am not judging you. I want you to do what is best for you. I am sure that everything you are going through has to be so difficult. I just hope that you are happy. I am here to talk to if you would like.
I hope that your earrings turn out to be everything that you want them to be. I hope you are enjoying your holiday.
Leanna- Oh my goodness! What will they come up with next? I have heard of a lot of fried things, but fried pig penises????
Tracy- Hi! You had a busy, busy weekend! I hope that you are doing well.
Pauly- How's it going? Do you have anymore updates from your doctor? Are they taking hcg levels? How's Audrey doing?
WB#2- How's it going. Glad that Hannah seems to be feeling better and that it is only an ear infection that seems to be getting better with the antibiotics.
I didn't do much today. We were going to go for a nice long walk but it was rainy on and off all day so we stayed in. Leata slept a whole lot today. I hope that she is growing and not getting sick.
Today I started looking at fares to England because I really want to go and see my long lost sister. lol. But really it has been more then a year and a half since I have seen her and I miss her a lot. We have both had babies since we saw each other last and I really want to meet her little boy Liam and she really wants to meet Leata. I would love to introduce Leata to all of my friends out in England too. (I lived there for about 4 years and my family lived there for 8.) I was thinking of going in Feb or March but it looks like the cheapest time is in November. I may go from November 9 (the day after dh's birthday) to November 28 or 29. That way I would be there for my sister's birthday and I could have Thanksgiving with them and then I could also be there for Liam's first birthday. It would be so much fun if I could go. I would really love it.
We are going to go to a town near Reno for my birthday to go and visit one of my friend's mom's. My friend's dad just passed away and my birthday is a good weekend to go and visit. That should be fun. And right before that a good friend of mine from high school and his wife and their two little girls are going to come and visit us. We will be busy but I am excited to see everyone.
Has anyone heard from Amy? I wonder how Willow is doing.
Well, my head is really hurting right now. I can hardly see straight. I hope all of you are doing well.

Thanks girls - I don't even feel bad about what I'm doing. I'm not sure this realtionship will go anywhere but my whole sense of being a woman has been battered. He makes me feel good - and it feels like we've known each other for years. It's really odd...and we are just comfortable. I am his little toy at the moment and just am so willing to....well, explore...lol...I call myself compliant....lol
Anyway I'm not feleing judged...I didn't think this was how a mother acted....then again I didn't ask for this "freedom" but I do feel liberated.
I organsied my new earrings today! They should be really pretty! They should have cost $2,700 but they did a deal and they'll be $1250...I supplied one fo the diamonds. I'd say when it's all said and done they will be worth approx $5,000 as a pair.
I'm sooooooooooo tired! Cohen is asleep but Kel is still up.....UGH! I've just givne him 10 more minutes............................
Three sleeps til my man comes home....................

Ok..I feel like I havent slept all night. I did get some sleep..but I hurt all over. Gosh..I dont even want to open my eyes. I dont know how this day is goin to be. I had today set aside to catch up on all my housework and laundry. Guess I wont be doin that.

Hi - quick post to say Hi and I am alive! I was away at training in Indiana last week (1 week w/o my baby - it was awful!!!) and this weekend we had the IL's stay - so finally some normalcy today! I will be back to catch up on personals!! I won't even bother with Sept and will jump right in to October. I feel so bad - I am a bad buddy lately.

No time for personals, sorry!!! I got a lot to do at work today.
But,
I forgot to tell you all last night b/c I was so happy....To those of you who have been following my adoption, we got good news yesterday....Kally's DNA test came back and this new guy is NOT the birth father, so we can proceed with the finalization of the adoption. YAY!
My secret pal thing is being sent out today! Sorry it took me so long, but I was gathering items...I hope she likes it!!!!

Buttercup- Those cakes were beautiful! Sorry for almost making you hurl your cheesecake.
TJ- No advice on the AF type cramps. My PCOS body does stuff like that all the time, and I can’t figure out any kind of pattern really.
Ema- Welcome! Congrats on the babies!! That's great that you are getting so much help from family right now.
Sarah- A trip to England sounds wonderful! Do you mean this November?
Hannah- Great idea making those earrings! And being a mother doesn’t cancel out being a woman. ;)
Lisa- Sorry Emma gave you a hard time last night. :(
Mara- Welcome back and don’t feel bad! How was Kokomo? Bet Anthony is glad to have you home!!
Jamie- I’m glad your little scare passed.
TracyR- Yay on the DNA test results! So have the birth mother's rights been completely terminated already? How long until everything is final for you guys?
Ack been going crazy this morning with housework… a couple of friends were planning on bringing their babies over today, but both babies are sick. So now I have an extra clean house for nothing. It’s supposed to be really pretty here again today… kind of a last hurrah before the cooler weather sets in. I think I’ll take the kids to the park. Jack got to crawl in the grass for the first time last week and he loved it.

You girls are just too busy.
Let's see what I can do in personals...
LM I hope you feel better soon. It stinks to be sick.
medic I've seen the deep fried Oreos, and I just can't imagine them being good. I do love Oreos though. The double stuffed are my fav!
Buttercup Anna's cakes were so cute. I guess I missed Noah having the chicken pox. Did you opt not to have the chicken pox vaccine?
TracyR that is WONDERFUL news about Kally. How long will it be now before the adoption is final?
Leanna I bet you are so excited to get in the new house.
Pauly for us birthday = meal. My family always has a meal when they have birthdays. I really am thinking next year will be pizza, salad and cake though. As long as we are in the house we are in now I will have to do the party somewhere other than our house. It's just too small. We had 30 or so people this time.
Arianna had her 1 year check up yesterday. She weighs 21 lbs 4 oz and is 29 1/2 inches long. She is just barely above the 50th %tile for both. She is way ahead in her speech. They asked if she could say mama and dada. I said yes but was thinking "and about 20 other words". We started whole milk this morning. Our ped recommended mixing half formula and half milk in one bottle to start out for a couple of days, then doing it for two bottles if no problems. Then on to three bottles, then go a whole bottle, etc. Did any of you go that slow in switching over to milk? Also she said so she taking about 20 to 24 oz a day. I was like no... I have to fight with her and don't usually get 16 oz of formula down her. She said that was fine, but I needed to be giving her cheese and a cup of yogurt everyday for the calcium. All in all she is doing GREAT!
Oh yea, she is really trying to walk now. She will take four or five steps, stumble and get right back up and try again. I'd say it won't be long now until I'm chasing her all over the place.

Hi Girls,
I haven’t had any of these fried treats that everyone is talking about- and I will never mention them to DH. He got a deep fryer for Christmas and that is all he talked about. There was some special on the food network and he was all ready to try it. Thankfully the deep fryer never made it out of the box- if it had, you’d all be seeing us on Jerry Springer as the couple that got soooooo massive that they could not get out of bed. So I have to make sure he doesn’t read over my shoulder on these pages. Yeah- just saw all of the cakes that were made for Anna’s b’day by hand- that will never happen here- I am not the best baker. So DH will have to stay off these pages. He always asks what is going on with my ovary friends and I’m going to have to just tell him that the pages were slow.
LM/Kelly- I have the same sleeping problem with Cassidy- goes to bed and then is up again. Her new thing is standing in the crib and screaming- what a treat!! I figure I’ll get sleep sooner or later.
Emma- congrats and welcome!!!
Hannah-congrats on the earrings!!!!

Buttercup - I hope Noah has most of the pox behind him now. No fun at all!!!!! Beautiful cakes!!!! You and Leslie are very talented!!!!!
TracyR - YAHOOO!!!!!!!!! That is so awesome about Kally. Onward with the adoption. I hope things get finalized for you very soon! Are the other kids finalized?
I thought I was going to throw up when I saw the deep fried snickers. That was disgusting!!!!! I'm not much of a fried food person though (except french fries) so maybe that's why it sounds so revolting. The fried oreos don't sound any better.
Leslie - I've heard that you should introduce whole milk slowly. A complete change of food all of a sudden could give her stomach pains etc... It's better to do it gradually. That's what I am planning on doing.
Sarah - go for the trip! You've been talking about missing your sis for awhile. It will be great for you to get away.
Ema - Congrats & welcome! Sleep when the babies sleep. Hopefully they sleep at the same time!!!!!!!!
Hannah - yeah on the earrings!
Welcome back Mara!
Audrey started getting a runny nose late yesterday afternoon and she's drooling a lot. Teeth again?!?!?!? Clear snots, but still runny and she's sneezing. Whatever the cause, I didn't get much, if any sleep again. Oh well.......I hope she's better by her birthday.
Tomorrow I go for the h/b u/s so I won't know anything more until then. I'm praying that there is a h/b! I've not had any m/s so that has me a little worried. I threw up for my entire pg with A. I know each pg can be/is different, but the m/s actually made me feel more comfortable that baby was ok. Weird, I know. I'll update everyone manana.

These are deep fried oreos...and no they aren't soggy...the ones i've had have been a little soft but NOT SOGGY...and believe me they are SOOOOO worth the calories...and you can only eat 3-4 anyway before they fill you up...SERIOUSLY!!! these don't have powdered sugar on them but I always opt for it...the trick to them is to eat them as soon as they are cooked and still warm...not hot, just quite warm...
Leslie...the carnival that i first found them at uses the double stuffed ones and they are the best!!!
okay GOOD MORNING EVERYONE...i survived work even though the cramps are still there...not as bad now that i've had some sleep...I have been watching the news this a.m on the Amish Shootings...did you guys see were he turned out all the guys and kept the women and little girls and shot them!?!?!?! WHAT THE HE*L!!!
people are so retarded!...very sad situation...we were just up there last thursday...it's such a beautiful place & now this!!!
okay back to work for me...back on hell week at firehouse
ps...if anyone wants to make the fried oreos all you do is buy oreos of your choice and funnel cake batter, bread the cookies in funnel cake batter (mix according to directions) and then fry them to golden brown in oil of your choice (usually peanut or vegtable) sprinkle with powdered sugar (or not) and ENJOY!!!

LM - Hope you and the kids are feeling better!!!
TracyR - Yay! I am so glad! When will the adoption be finalized?
Pauly - Congrats!!! When are you due?
Sarah - Hi! Hope your headache goes away!
Hannah - Wow on the earrings! Enjoy them!!! :)
Hi to everyone else!
Our news...Anthony has a tooth! His top LH tooth has come up! Daddy was 9 months too when he got his first tooth!
We had Anthony's 9 month appt yesterday. He is 9.2kg (20lbs and 4.5oz) 44%, height is 77.5cm or (30.5") 95% and then head circumference is 48cm(18.9) 97%. Anthony put on a show and did every trick he knew. The doctor was very impressed and said he is one of the most advanced 9 months old he has seen in a long time! Anthony's iron is low so he gave us supplements. Anyone else have to give their baby supplements?
Okay - I better go - people having been trying to get my attention to talk to me.

I forgot to mention......
I'm getting my hair cut on Thursday. I think I'm going to get at least 10" cut off so I can donate it to locks of love. I'm really nervous and dh isn't too thrilled. I think my hair will still be shoulder length when all is said and done. DH won't help me measure so I'm going to ask a friend to help me today. I'm sooooooooo nervous about doing it, but kinda excited too.

Just saying hi! I'm back at work for the first time today. So far it's okay - the anticipation was worse than the reality. Yesterday and last night were really hard. But I've missed the people here. I've pumped once so far - there is actually a lactation room with three hospital grade pumps, each in a cubicle with a phone, and there's a fridge in the room to store milk during the day. It took some time to figure out how to find the room and use the adaptor so I can use my regular tubes, etc., with the workplace pump, but I got it going. That machine is STRONG compared to my pump-in-style. It's like orientation day. I forgot my password to get into my work computer, and I'm still locked out of the e-mail system still, but that should be resolved later today. Ava (Noodle) is home with Carol. So far I've only called home twice. Can't believe it's October. My work calendar still said June!

TJ - Thanks for the update. That is just NUTS!?!?!?! What is wrong with people? I will post some pics when I get home tonight - I have a bunch of good ones! As for the supplements for iron..do they discolor teeth?? Did they constipate Haylie?? I have to pick them up tonight.
Pauly - DO IT! My DH *****ed and complained and I told him "Listen - my hair and my time". He actually likes my hair shorter and it is sooooooo much easier to style. I was putting my hair up in a bun everyday (lack of styling time) and it was just blech looking. I actually feel *pretty* with shorter hair if you can imagine that!~

Didn't get a chance to post this yesterday, but my doc called back with my bloodwork results. Everything was NORMAL  My thyroid was 1.14! That's really good right? Was kinda hoping they would find something with my pituitary, but just to explain the strange happenings of my body. OH well--at least we have eliminated some things. And would you believe Fri morning I passed another freaking kidney stone???????? :x I was soooo pissed. I have chronic stones and no one can help me! I am going to make another appt with my urologist I think. That's like 15+ stones in 4yrs. I mean really there has to be something they can do! TJ--know anything about them?
Pauly--We are just having cake and drinks. Maybe ice cream too, but I doubt it. That is all we are allowed to have there. Oh darn ;) The party is from 4-5:30 so everyone actually has to leave at the end. We have pics on Sat and the party on Sun. I like your baby names :D Praying for a h/b! I had no idea your hair was so long either. 4 people just cut their hair on Ellen yesterday for the same thing.
TJ--I couldn't cook that much food (ok really just can't cook) even if I wanted to. It would probably be gross! 3 school shootings in 1 week! Makes me want to home school Piper.
Tracy--We are thinking about a book on redemption--something like an all-American man who is seeking God but doesn't know it. Still working out the details. We have deep fried snickers here too, but they look like puke on the inside!
Lisa--LOL No way would I shovel horse crap hehehe On your other post, I don't think you can quote a quote. That might be why the lines were there instead. Did the storms wake you up this morning? I saw your area was still getting hammered when I got up. Came through here really strong around 3-4.
Ema CONGRATS!! I don't think I knew you were prego with twins. Sounds like a lot of work and a lot of fun too!
Hannah--Have fun getting your new earrings! :D
Buttercup--Those cakes are so pretty! I could never do that! I hope you and your BF get to write your book too. We don't know the 1st thing about doing it, but we are going to try and hopefully someday we will be published! Might even try to do a funny book on babies too.
Sarah--Sounds like a great time in England with your family and friends.
Mara--LMAO I am exactly 4'10"! I guess I am a dwarf! hahaha Where did you read that? How was Kokomo? Congrats on the tooth :)
TracyR--That is such wonderful news!!!!
Leslie--She will be walking soon! It is so adorable watching them learn :D I bet Arianna and Piper are pretty close in size. We go on the 11th to see her new ped. I started giving Piper milk about 1 1/2 weeks ago. I just put some in a cup to see if she liked/would drink it. She drank all of it. So we didn't transition quite the same way. So then I gave her 1 cup milk/3cups formula--next day was 2 cups of each for a couple days. Then we ran out of formula and didn't see the need to buy more. So now she completely on organic whole milk. She likes to chug sometimes, usually before bed--so I still warm it up a little for that so she doesn't get baby brain freeze! Interesting about the cheese and yogurt. I give those to her ocassionally but not everyday.
Michele--Wow standing up already!! Piper was 9 months before she pulled up.
Sherri--Glad work is going good so far. That is awesome they have a lactation room. What do you do?

Dh wants to take some pics of my hair before I get it cut. Depending on how they turn out, I may or may not post them. I don't have many pics of myself, because seeing them makes me upset/cry. I have no interest in him taking any of me today or tomorrow either. I'm always the photographer so that I can stay out of the pics as much as possible.
LM - I'm with you today on being sleepy. With A's runny nose it's just not happening for naps either. I hope the Coke gives you a jolt of energy.
Terra- Where is Piper's party at? If there are restrictions, it must not be at your house! lol Every once in awhile I'll watch Ellen and I always enjoy her show. It's been a couple of months since I've seen it so yesterday's show was not my motivation.
My "normal" hairstyle is a ponytail and that's about it. My hair is super duper extra thick so most "hair accessories" won't stay in for me. I can braid other people's hair, but not my own. I've tried numerous times and bought numerous products over the years trying to get things to stay in my hair. Most barrettes won't stay in my hair either. Oh well, I just need a change. I'm hoping like Mara, that it will make me feel better.
Sherri - sounds like you work for a great and understanding company (at least in the bfing arena). Are they on the top 100 working moms list of companies to work for? GL with continuing the bfing and the new adjustments at home.

LM... so sorry you are feeling bad...
Terra...i wish i knew more but the only thing we can do for them in ER is a stone study and lots of morphine/toradol/phenerghan...i do kow that cranberry juice/capsules is supposed to help (not sure how much cause of how many stones you have) and my BIL has had to have laser surgery several times to bust up the ones that consolidated into a big one...YUCK...will se what i can find out though
HEY did i tell you guys how sick i made myself at my BILs B-Day Dinner the other night when we were in PA??? i don't think so...i took all my meds (feel like walkin RX store) including the METFORMIN and then sat down to dinner at Texas Roadhouse...i ate their yeast rolls with brown sugar/honey butter and lots of onion rings and then a salad with blue cheese (lots) and then steak & a sweet potatoe with brown sugar butter and whipped cream...OMG it was so good...until my stomach said NO NO NO and gave it all back to the toilet gods!!!
Doc said cause of MET and the amount of fat and sugar that i ate that i had not been eating...figures i do something good for my body and it fights back when i try to do something good for me!!!
HAHA...anyway just popping in again...gym time soon!!! then dinner, i made stuffed peppers (low sugar, low fat/calorie of course) only 300 cals per serving (one large stuffed pepper). my own recipie!!!
okay enough for now...LISA LOTS OF HUGS...FEEL BETTER SOON

Thanks Mara--might look up that article :D
Lisa--I think it's cool being short (didn't always feel that way). Makes me unique. Got made fun of a lot in elem. school, but it was usually the boys, so I would just kick them!
Pauly--I'm really starting to like Ellen now--never cared much for her before. It's a great cause to give you hair to. I don't think her guests were using locks of love--something different. They just did it to kick off breast cancer awareness month. I hope you like your hair cut. Awe don't be afraid to post pics of yourself here. We all love you! We are having Piper's party at Gymboree. There is limited space--well that's not the play area, it's huge. And it's only for 1 1/2hrs so there just isn't time to eat food, play and have cake. We have a small 3bdr house, so no room for a big party. Will need more space with baby #2 though. John takes up an entire room with computers! We have a company here that made that top 100 list for working moms.
Ok well Piper has disappeared and I don't hear her--never good LOL

okay here is what one of the ER docs says (he found it on WebMD and agreed with it wholly)
Increasing how much fiber you eat. Fiber includes oat and wheat bran, beans, whole-wheat breads, wheat cereals, cabbage, and carrots.
Eating less beef, pork, and poultry.
Eating a moderate or high amount of calcium-rich foods, such as dairy products. Eating recommended amounts of calcium, combined with a diet low in sodium and protein, may decrease your risk of kidney stones.6 In older people and younger women, one study indicates that eating higher levels of calcium reduces the risk of kidney stones.7
Not adding salt when you cook or eat. Try removing the salt shaker from your table.
Drink 2 glasses of water every 2 hours while you are awake. If you have kidney, heart, or liver disease and are on fluid restrictions, talk with your doctor before drinking more fluids.
Avoid "fizzy" soft drinks and certain fruit juices, such as grapefruit juice.
Avoid foods with high levels of oxalate, such as dark green vegetables, nuts, and chocolate.
This is prob stuff your doc has already told you and it looks to me like you can't eat anything LOL...maybe this helps...if not i tried

I work for a company that is on the top 100 companies. My personal opinion is a lactation room and FMLA time (12 weeks no pay) are not something spectacular. This especially since I am coming from a country(Canada) that pays 65% of your wages (most companies top up to 85% ) for 54 weeks with an additional 52 weeks non-paid where the company has to keep your job for you. They boast "job-share" positions which are a. clearly filled before being posted on the company wide open position board and b. are really not willing to be "managed" by management here (I guess more think it is more of a hassle than it is worth- if they were judged performance wisae for having these social pluses I am sure they would all be leaping to do job-share  ). We don't have on site daycare, actually we have no daycare here (12,000 employees at Headquarters). So anyway - I will step off my sopabox. It just bugs me that there really isn't anything special that my company does to make it on the top 100 list - I can't imagine what companies who DON'T make the list do.

Thanks for the good luck wishes everyone. Mara I am with you, I wish the US had the same maternity leave setup as Canada or France or other countries! But I can't complain b/c I know this is about the best setup I can hope for here :? .... I work 7:30 to 4 and commute about 45-60 min each way so it's a long time away from Ava, but I get to leave in 40 min....
Hope things are going okay at home. This morning seemed to be fine, but Carol called me around 2:00 all freaked out b/c she couldn't find the dog's leash. It's just as well -- neither of us has taken both the dog and the baby for a walk by ourselves yet (though I see people doing it all the time). He can run around in the yard. I could hear Ava crying in the background. :( I'm afraid to call back. Hopefully everyone will be calm when I go home.
I've pumped 3 times and got about 16 oz! I have no idea how much Ava eats, but hopefully that will set them up for tomorrow and they won't have to raid the (small) frozen stash.

Pauly I had planned on switching to mild slowly but not quite that slow. I was going to mix half and half in every bottle, but I'm pretty sure the ped said do one at a time. The biggest reason I want to get her switched is I really think she HATES the taste of formula. I've had trouble getting her to take her bottles since she started solids (not cereal but veggies and fruit). I think she got a taste of something good, so she doesn't want the yucky formula. She gulped her morning bottle down this morning. It was the half and half bottle for the day. I think it tasted better to her.
That's awesome about your hair. You HAVE to post before and after pics!!!
Mara congrats on the first tooth. I can't imagine being away from Arianna that long. I used to travel a little here at work. I think at this point it's an unspoken understanding that I'm not going anywhere that I can't be back home by evening. Not sure how long that will last.
Arianna's iron has not even been checked. Do all peds check iron levels or do they only do it if they suspect iron deficiency? I know iron supplements can cause constipation, so make sure he is getting some high fiber fruits and veggies.
Sherri glad your first day back wasn't as bad as you expected. I had a HORRIBLE time when I came back to work. I still don't like being here, but at least now I can deal with it.
Terra I think the cheese and yogurt everyday is because she isn't drinking as much formula/milk as most kids do. How many oz a day does Piper drink? I get around 14 oz of formula down Arianna and maybe 2-4 oz of water or juice. I know she won't dehydrate on that. I guess the concern is her getting enough calcium.
Talking about hair... I'm started wearing my curly/wavy. I was getting to work late almost every morning when I was straightening it. The curly/wavy way is MUCH easier. I like my hair better straight, but honestly I don't want to get up 15 minutes early just to have straight hair. I like my sleep.

Wow you ladies have been busy. I'm am on 'borrowed time" while Mason is taking a nap. It's his first all day, he got up at 8am and didn't go down until 2:30. This is pretty much routine, he's up for about 6 hours at least. Does that sound normal? I shouldn't complain, he did nothing BUT sleep in the begining and didn't even want to wake to eat.
Not much time for personals...
Sherri - Your workplace sounds awesome with the lactation room and stuff. 16oz. that sounds good to me. I bought a book called Nursing Mother Working Mother and it suggested that somewhere between 5-8am nurse baby on one side then pump both breast for 10 min and then nurse baby on the other side. (between 5-8am your breast are the fullest) then somewhere midmorning pump again an hour after nursing baby. Use this for freezing. I've done it for a week and have a good amount stored in the freezer. Each time the supply keeps going up, so far never more than about 3-4oz ea. session.
When we took our childbirth classes the teacher talked about letting your partner watch baby without you. She said she would always come home and as long as everyone was still alive she was ok. Yes, extreme comment, but funny. Everytime I leave Mason with dh I just remember that comment, laugh and it becomes easier.
LisaMarie - I hope you feel better
Kelli - I hope Gavin doesn't get strep! or you!
my time is up, my little man is stirring...

Okay I can't remember who said what but here goes
kidney stones~ they should be analyzed and find out what they are made of. That will determine what changes in your diet. Basically there are calcium and acid types think there is one more I am not a urologist. I know the uric acid ones you are supposed to stay away from nuts, peanut butter, dark green leafy veggies, etc etc. Cranberry is ify some swear by it and others say no. Research changes all the time but can't hurt.
Iron~ Most kids get theirs tested after one year because they go to whole milk vs formula. If your kid is being BF they should be getting polyvisol with iron since BM isn't fortified like formula. If your kid is lethargic, poor color, constipated etc then they will occasionally check too but its not done unless there is concern after the one year check.
Hair~ I got mine cut off a few months ago went from my shoulders to my hips all gone. And I love the new do made me feel sassy again. I was unable to donate my hair because it was colored. Couldn't they have just dyed it again? Oh well I tried. I think that is an incredible orginization. My neice donated her hair when she was 16 along with some friends from school. They had a big ceremony at school.

I am a big dope! I just realized that I do not have a passport for Leata so tomorrow we go and apply for one. I found tickets for me and Leata (as a lap child but you have to pay fees and taxes and such going overseas) for $580 after all the taxes and fees. I found cheaper from other places like Denver but from SLC that is great! We can go in November if we get the passport in time but they also have that fare in January so we may just decide to go then. I would really like to go in November but it is looking like January just might work better. We will probably go for about 3 weeks. It should be great! I was afraid we may not be able to go at all but then I found the same price in January. I think we are going to do it one way or another! I am so glad dh got a raise or this could not happen.
Leata is so silly! She likes to find people's belly buttons and and she calls them "butt". LOL she will pull anyone's shirt up to try and find their belly button.
I would say Leata Marie Bobo to Leata when she is doing something she is not supposed to. Recently I have just started saying "Leata Marie" and she will say "Bobo" and laugh hysterically! She's too funny and I can't be upset with her when she does that. I just laugh too and stop her from what she is doing or getting into.

Sarah that sounds like fun. Did you know that they have harness type things for kids that are on your lap so that if god forbid anything happen she is attached to you. Safer than just sitting her on your lap. I worry about weird things like that. Hannah has been on a few planes but we have a car seat stroller combo thing. Before you go tell her when you hear loud noises this is what the plane sounds like. The roar of the engines can be really scary. Also give her a sippy cup during take off or bottle sucking will keep her ears from popping and hurting. Also gate check your stroller and carseat if you can. They won't get lost and you will have them when you land.
esarah
10-03-2006, 06:38 PM
We flew across the country with Leata when she was 6 months old and 11 months old. She did really well and we had her suck on a bottle for landing. Take off didn't bother her. Landing seems to be worse. On international flights that I have been (and I have been on A LOT) on the lap kids had to have a harness to their parents on take off and landing. I don't know if I am going to take her stroller. I only have an umbrella stroller anyway and I have pleanty of friends in England that I can borrow a stroller from. Her carseat is going to be one of my bags so we can only bring one bag if it is just me and her. Fortunatly when you are travelling overseas your bag can weigh 70 pounds instead of just 40. I am hoping that my mom or dh can come part of the time we are there and bring a suitcase full of stuff Iam sure to buy in England back with them. Otherwise I won't be able to bring much back. That would be sad.
I am so excited. I have wanted to go to England ever since Leata was born.
Ok, I am going on and on again...

anyway another exciting day at work...miss being hom ewith haylie, she is staying with BF again tonight cause DH has to get up for work at 5:00 a.m. and can't put her on the bus, this is when i feel i should be home, i mean she loves staying there (and they take wonderful care of her) but i still feel guilty...this only happens 4-5 nights a month and never more than 1 a week (sometimes two but only about every 6th week) but i still feel bad...i know she's happy but i guess you can never get that guilt that you are not doing enough...i have to stay here, money is good, insurance is good, schedule works out better for more schooling ( :x ) and time off during week days so i can do school functions...but yet again...
anyway...just thought i'd close the day out since no one else is on tonight...talk later guys

Hi friends,
I'm so far behind with all of you - don't know if I can even attempt personals! I just read the last two pages.
Terra: My grandma was 4'10" (with the biggest boobs you ever did see, not sure how she didn't fall on her face - lol!) But, she was not a dwarf! Just a cute little grandma with tiny little feminine feet - she always made me feel like a bohemuth!
Pauly: I have a friend that donated two feet of hair to locks for love - and she has the thickest hair I have ever seen on a human-being! Six inches makes one wig, if your hair is average thickness. With thick hair and ten inches I bet they could get two wigs from you!
Sherri: Sorry it stinks going back to work! Glad Ava is in good hands during the day ;)
"hi" to all my other special friends.
LisaMarie - you know I miss you girlfriend!
Hank is being fitted on Friday for an orthopedic helmet because of his incredicbly flat head. We call him "Henry Square Head" but we hope that in another six months he will be "Henry Round Head."
Bye gals!

No time for personals as usual! Dylan is finally in his bassinet tonight though. Well, I should say for the time being. We sleep with a body pillow and I shoved it in his bassinet and he's sleeping on that. I don't know if it's my smell or if it's the soft surface he likes. This is the first time all day he's been out of my arms. I know I will miss it when he grows out of it, but I don't know if i will make it to that day. Well thanks ladies for listening. Just wanted to know that all is well here. I hope I can eventually get on here and actually be able to be more personal! The day will come, the day will come... I hope!

Well Hannah came home from school complaining her tummy hurt near her bladder. Long story short we spent most of the night till 230am in the ER to find out she may or may not have a UTI their lab is screwed up. I am heading to bed I had to eat something junior was throwing a fit I was starving so ate me a bagel quick. Everyone is bedded down for the night and I am heading there soon.
I can't imagine how hard it is to leave your child while you work. I have had to leave Hannah with OR staff or family members or preschool but not everyday. And I don't care who it is watching your kid you always worry.
Welcome back Kirsten thought you had abandoned us. Hope Hank gets a cute round melon soon. So how many times have you dropped this kid on his head he needs a helmet????
Lisa didn't hear if you were feeling better hope so.
Sorry if I forgot anyone goodnight. My back is killing me trying to lay on my side in a hospital bed with a 3 year old not comfy at all.

Well my new boyfriend has begun his trip home - he is heading from Tasmania back to Melbourne to get his car to begin the drive back...gosh I've missed him mroe than I thought I would. Tonight he is back in Melborune, tomorrow he starts the drive back. If he doesn't I will kill him when he does finally return...lol I laugh but it's true...lol
Soooooooooooooo today I picked up a new quilt and quilt cover. My cover came withtwo pillow cases AND a cushion cover. My bed looks soooooooooooooooooooooooooo pretty! I'll take a pic and psot it. I bougth new pillows too. Time for new stuff...plus I needed a second quilt, my other one was beocming thin AND I need a back up one in case kids or cats vomit or do other gross things on my bed..lol
I did a massive clean today - I am ready for my new furniture to arrive. Friday the neww lounge comes and then someitme next week my new little informal dining table and chairs (just a 4 seater) comes for my combined lounge-dining area. I don't want people eating on my new furniture soooooo they will be forced to eat at the table and chairs. My old lounge that was broken is ready for the council pick up and my other lougne that was good is in KElan's lounge room. It's beocme Cohen's lounge too - he loves to be where his brother is...unless he needs hugs, then he wants mummy! He likes to mvoe around when he gets bored with being with someone.
As for leaving kids - I'm lucky that with family day care I'm really confident. If there's an issue the lady will call. The one thing I do worry about more than anything isn't his safety but whehter he is happy. He is always happy in care though and the baby, well, he loves people! Being a single mum I have no choice but to not only work but begin my career climb that I was putting off.

Good Wed Morning girlies!! DH left work a while ago, I fed Miss Emily and loaded the dishwasher and I am fixing to hit the bed while I can. I am so saddened by all these school shootings! OMG!!!!! I swear, we may just home-school Emily. What is going on with these freaks??????? One of the victims was SIX YEARS OLD! It just breaks my heart! Well, with all these idoits out there stealing babies and what-not, my MIL has been harping on me to take Emily's pics off of our Myspace acct. I was going to do it, but had not gotten around to it yet. Well DH was on it last night and we got a message from a strange woman in NC telling us that we have a cute daughter. Needless to say, there are no more pics of the baby on our Myspace acct. and Tim wants to set it to private. Am I over-reacting or would that scare you all, too? What kind of world are we living in when it is not safe to have children? I know that with all these school shootings people are going to start screaming about gun control, but I will be honest. We have them and I would kill anyone who tried to get to Emily. I would not bat an eyelash. No questions asked. I am such a redneck hillbilly, but I would be a deadly redneck hillbilly when it comes to the little lovebug. Okay....off my soapbox. :x
On to happier topics.....
I mailed my secret pal some stuff yesterday. Hope she enjoys it/can use it.
And personals.....
Lisamarie - Hi my fiesty friend! How are you feeling today?
Tracy R - Congrats on Kally. When does everything become "offical"?
TJ - Hi!!!!
Hannah - Can't wait to see your new quilt. Sounds like you are having fun redecorating. Hope your beau has a safe trip back to you and can walk after you are finished welcoming him home...lol :D
B#2 - Hope that Hannah is feeling better and that you got some rest.
Kirsten - good to see you back!!!
Sarah - I hope that you get to go on your trip! That is so funny about Leata saying that back to you. I am in so much trouble when Emily starts talking....I won't be able to keep a straight face.
Red - Hope you got some rest!
Leslie - Hi! I meant to ask you this the other day, but where did you all find that picture frame with the 12 months on it?
Pauly - You go girl! Get your hair cut! That is awesome about donating it! I had almost 6" cut off last month and it is so much easier to take care of! How are you feeling?
Michele - Hi! I am checking Target's website for that top. The nearest store is 2 hr away....bummer!
Mara - Hi!!
Sherri - How are you today?
Hey Terra!
Ok, I am going to go sleep while I can. Hi to everyone I missed! Y'all are such a great group of ladies and I am blessed to know you all! Take care, have a wonderful day and God Bless!!! :D

Good morning!
Well, my instinct was right not to call home after the 2 p.m. phone call that C couldn't find the dog's leash. She found it, and all was well, and when they picked me up at the Metro station, everyone was fine and happy. I swear Ava grew a pound and an inch while I was at work though! I took pics of her and brought the digital camera to work so I have her most recent photo to show off and look at. (Don't have software to download it here at work, though). I miss her!!! But there is still some hoopla about my being back and people I haven't seen yet, so that is a distraction. Also got the key to the 2nd lactation room from a coworker who is no longer nursing. This room is rumored to have both a fridge AND a sink and be a little closer to my office. Have no idea what actual work I should be doing yet....
Happy Wednesday, everyone.

Sherri- Glad your first day back to work went ok! Sounds like Ava is getting the best of both worlds.
Pauly- I think it’s great that you are donating your hair! Hope you love your new cut.
Sarah- I can’t believe how cheap those tickets to England are!!
Kirsten- Hope Hank’s helmet fitting goes smoothly!
WB#2- Hope Hannah feels better soon. Sounds like a rotten night.
Hannah- New furniture is always fun.
Lisa- Are you and Emma feeling any better today?
The kids had a blast at the park yesterday. Jack discovered that grass is not only a soft carpet, but is pickable and tasty too. So, he spent more time on the baby swing than he did on the ground this time. Today we are going to the library to see the old story time gang... have missed that since Bonnie started school. It goes to age 6 though, so we'll probably still go over breaks and next summer. Then I think we're going to hit the park again if Jack lasts that long. Hope everyone has a great day!

Leslie--Piper was also only drinking about 16oz a day--sometimes more sometimes less. I don't think she liked the formula either after she had some good food. So far she's doing really good on the milk. Right now she's getting about 18oz of that. One of my good friends from high school called last night. We still get together when we can. She wants to bake a cake for Piper. So she's going to make the small cake that Piper gets to tear into! Her mom has a great recipe for homemade icing YUM! Piper will have to share some with mommy
TJ--Thanks for the info. Yeah I think I would starve on that diet! But I can tell you that I have never eaten too many green leafy veggies LOL That rocks that you can ask the ER docs for information like that. Just tell them you have a theoretical patient :D Right now I'm not looking so much to prevent them as to get rid of them. I had an IVP done a couple years back which revealed both of my kidneys were littered with a bunch of small stones. They have never clumped up and caused major issues, but even the ones small enough to pass on their own have blocked the urine from the kidneys to the ureters and caused me a few trips to the ER. But so far no one thinks that 4 or so trips with blocked urines and pains worse than labor (for me anyways) warrents anything more than--oh it will pass. :x I'm tired of passing stones. They all hurt--no matter what size. And I just don't want them there anymore! I would really like a permanent solution to rid my body of them and then work on preventing more. There's either something chemically wrong as to why the are forming or another theory is growing up and drinking Indiana well water for about 10 years.
Wantingbaby#2--I hope Hannah feels better soon and you can get some rest. I have had my stones analyzed a couple different times. They are calcium oxalate stones--I think the most common. They are fairly small--not coming out, but in general. The worst part is the jagged edges--I can feel it tearing its way through the ureters/urethra and out! My biggest problem was during pregnancy the ureters get bigger and allow some stones that wouldn't usually pass to pass. And the urethra stays the same size making it that much more painful to pee them out. I've seen 3 different urologists. Had the IVP done, 24hr urine, stones analyzed, some a limited IVP while p/g (involves xray) and had a CT scan right after delivery that showed the stones were still there. I just want some answers and suggestions. That's why I think if I go back now, they might be able to help. My OB suggested I go back before baby #2 so we won't end up in the same boat again. She felt helpless when I had all those stones because there was nothing she could do.
Sarah--Glad things are going to work out for you to go to England! That is so exciting.
Kirsten--I hope his head rounds out soon! How often will he have to wear the helmet?
Melanie--It could be your scent that calms him down. Makes him feel like you are always right there beside him. There is a doll that I've seen that will absorb your scent and keep it in the fabric. It's called a snoedel (snoodle). Here's the site if you want to check it out at OneStepAhead
http://www.onestepahead.com/product/117/281763/117.html
Hannah--Exciting about all the new stuff :D Have a great reunion with your man! ;)
Krissy--I've had people send me messages about Piper on myspace too. Her pics are still up. Most people are harmless, but they still freak me out on the internet. A few of them have been other moms looking for friends or something on the site. myspace wouldn't be the 1st place I would look though. I have one to keep in touch with old friends from home and my brother and sister. Even if I took her pics down from there--I post them here, John has a site and Piper has a baby book and a blog online. Ok so we are an internet freak family! LOL

Do you think you have the flu? If so, you might want to go and see your doc. Supposed to be a nasty flu season around here. I might even have Piper get a flu shot. I won't get one, but she seems to "catch" things constantly. I found the perfect shirt for Porkchop for next summer. I have to buy it! What size do you think she will be in when it's warm enough for tank tops? LOL

Well we had a bit of a scare last night. DH didn't get home from work yesterday until 9pm. I was drained, Mason was very needy, with the exception of his (barely 2 hour nap) and I needed a break. Plus by the time dh got home Mason was cranky too. DH stopped and got us burgers and said he'd feed Mason a bottle of formula while I ate. (We supplement every once in a while.) Within minutes after Mason finished the bottle he broke out in hives from the top of his head and it covered his body with the exception to his diaper area. Called the nurse on call, yes we had fed him this same exact formula before, nothing else different. She forwarded my call to the dr. on call. An hour has passed now and I was lying on the bed nursing Mason when the dr. called. Mason's ears were now completely swollen - he looked horrible, but otherwise no fever and didn't seem unhappy. Dr. said go to the ER. So by 10:30 we're off to the ER. By 11:00 when the dr. saw us these hives had already almost dissapeared, but his ears were still swollen and red. We were released and told to go to his pedi 1st thing in the am. Got home at about midnight. we showered Dh was concerend that maybe it was something on our clothing?
Went to his pedi this morning and she thinks it's a cow's milk allergic reaction - to the formula. Weird, he's had it before. She didn't think it was from anything I ate - I can still consume dairy unless it happens again. If have to give formula agian use soy based. And she is sending him to an allergist. Oh joy...
I'm kinda wiped out, asleep by 1am, up by 5am to get Mason fed and to the dr. Morning rush hour traffic is hell here. I love his pedi but not if we have to be there before 9am!
Mel - Mason did the same thing around Dylan's age. he much more enjoyed lying on a pillow or in our bed than in his bassinet. Don't know if it's cause it's soft or it reminds him of us?

Michelle- That is so scary! Glad Mason is ok now.
Lisa- Shame on your DH trying to use up your energy you need to get well.
Jack pulled up for the first time this morning. Jeez this kid has places to go and stuff to do in a hurry it seems.

OMG, you gals are busy this a.m. Well, I had my u/s and there was a h/b!!!! YIPEE!!!!!! However, I'm not as far along as the Dr thought (by 2 weeks). They dated my due date as May 28th. WOW!!!!! My due date with Audrey was Sept 28th. I thought that was kinda weird.
I did throw up yesterday and I've been nauseous for most of the day today. Although it sucks, it does make me feel a little better on the other hand. Hormones........
Kirsten - I'm sorry that you have to go through the helmet issue with Hank. His head doesn't look flat from your pics! Maybe you can decorate his helmet and make it "fun" looking. The idea is for him to sleep with it on so his head can even out, right? Will he have it on all the time? We'll be thinking of you.
Hannah - rock on!
Tex - Wow, that's weird that that happened. I hope he's ok now. I'd be freaking! It sounds like you handled it pretty well.
Audrey's into something. Gotta run

Michelle~ That is scary. We went through something like that with Hannah and by the time we got to the ped it was gone twice. I finally figured out it was this dye she had for xray stuff no one believed me. The third procedure I drove to the office and waited for it to happen. It could be a total fluke thing that will never happen again but if it does try to remember what you ate/wore etc and see if there is any pattern in case it isn't the milk. Its no fun.
Sherri is there anyway C can bring the baby to your work during the day at least until you get more used to being away from her? Maybe it won't seem like such a long day if you get a quick cuddle during the day. When my DD is home with me I am like want to go to school/grandmas whatever once she is gone I miss her and want her back home. Its hard when you have to be away from them. After this baby comes I will be going back to school to finally finish my nursing degree and I am already dreading leaving them both!
Well Hannah is doing okay today. Her cough is finally producing gunk so I am hoping we are winding down with that. I have been having cramps and backache all day I am not worried something is wrong with the baby just from sleeping funny but it is so uncomfortable. We took a 2 1/2 hour nap so we are both feeling better. Talked to her pediatrician and from the labs and our chat we are assuming that she may have the start of a UTI and or yeast infection from the antibiotics. She had some diarrhea last night and today so more than likely it is a big gi disturbance from the antibiotics that possibly produced too much gas or cramps in her belly. She did have a tender belly so she had some pain somewhere. So next monday we see our ped again for a urine sample and overall checkup. So nothing serious in the end but as the ped said with her history and with as demanding as she was to see a doctor which with all her surgeries she does not do willingly he said she must have been in pain. She did tell daddy today she wasn't sick no more and didn't have to go to the dr today so I guess the gas/pain/whatever worked itself out. Glad we went even if it was nothing in the end.

Pauly- Congrats on the HB!!
Leslie
10-04-2006, 04:40 PM
Pauly congrats on the HB. You have to be so relieved. Here's to a happy and healthy nine months!
I have a quick question. Arianna's nose has been running (it's clear) since Saturday evening. She's also had a little cough. I assumed it was just allergies/sinus, because I woke up Sunday morning all stuffed up. I asked the ped about it at her appointment, and she said I could give her 1 ml of Benedryl (didn't do that until this morning). Yesterday was her first day on milk. She only had 3 oz the whole day. Yesterday evening she was still stuffy and coughing. This morning she had another 3 oz of milk mixed with her formula. This morning she was really stuffy and coughing a good bit, so I gave her the Benedryl. DH called and said her nose was running really bad. Do you all think this is from the milk or do you think it's just allergies/sinus or a cold? I was going to take her up to 3 oz of milk in two bottles tomorrow, but now I'm wondering if I should. Would you all wait to see if she clears up before upping the amount of milk?
Buttercup
10-04-2006, 05:14 PM
Leslie- Coming from a mommy who has a milk allergic baby- I would wait till her congestion clears up and then try the milk again later. If she has congestion, wheezing, coughing or runny nose i would switch her to soy milk and try reintroducing milk after six months. (most dairy allergies are out grown) BTW, we did give Noah the chicken pox vaccine when he was little but apparently the vaccine only works for 80% of kids. Anna did not get her vaccine till after Noah broke out  because the Dr was out of the vaccine at her 12 mo appt. Now we are waiting to see if she breaks out  There is a 2 week incubation period before a breakout- so if by tues she still hasn't broken out then we are in the clear.
Michelle- Anna breaks out the same way as Mason anytime she comes in contacy with dairy or whey products. I know for older babies they can have a very small dose of Benydryl- What did they do for Mason? As far as the sleep thing- You should not expect babies Masons age to be awake for more than two to three hours at a time. If they stay awake too long then they become overtired and will refuse the sleep they desperatley need. It becomes a horrible cycle. I totally reccomend the book "Healthy Sleep Habits; Happy Child" It breaks down babies by age and what their body needs and gives reccomendations on how to set schedules for the baby. There are also lots of testimonials from other parents about thier babies sleep problems and what they did to fix their schedules.
Tracy R- Horray for the good paternity test results!!!!
Sarah- That's awesome about the tickets to Engalnd! When in Nov are you going? We are passing through Provo on our way home from vacation. We should be there around Sun Nov 12 or so. If you are still around we should meet for dinner! If not (You should definatley go to Engalnd if you can!) I will have to catch you some other time.
Ok I was gonna type more but Anna is screaming now
Will try and finish catching up later!
God Bless

Buttercup - They did nothing for Mason. By the time we left the ER it was practically cleared up, all but his ears. This morning when I took him to the pedi he looked completely normal. I told dh as we sat in the ER waiting room we should have taken a pic, so we could show the dr. The pedi however told me to get liquid benadryl for the next time - if it ever happens again.
Not totally surprised my child has any sort of allergy, he would totally come by it honestly, I had allergies so bad as a kid. My poor mother thought she was going to have to put me in a bubble...

I made veggie soup for dinner..was yummmmmmmmmmmmy to this big ol' tummy.
Red-Hey there pretty red headed lady! That is crazy about Mason. It would have scared me too. My sil had that happen to her son ...although comes to find out my bil gave him a taste of Peanut Butter. lol But anyways...that kid was so allergic sometimes to stuff..my dog Harley would like him and break out in hives..must have been something in Harley dog food. ehhe...so you said you could ahve been the girl in the bubble????hehe
Buttercup-Whats shakin little mama?
Well I guess I might go to bed....dont think I'll get a shower...Im tired.

So Mason is fighting sleep. I didn't think kids did this at 7 weeks? I even tried nursing him in our bed. Usually he's out like a light, but oh no, he finished and was like ok let's go see what daddy's doing? Dh took him and has him in the recliner with him. Pretty funny, he fell asleep, it's like he has to be right there with us. DH just told me his leg has fallen asleep, I gues hinting I should come get the baby. I just smiled and said, "Welcome to my world..."
LisaMarie - I had allergies so bad. They run in my family. When I was 3 or 4 my parents took me to an allergist and I had all those skin tests done. Dr. gave them 2 pages, 2 columns each of all the stuff I was allergic to. I used to have to get 3 shots every 2 weeks. My dad gave them to me and then quit by then time I started kindergarten.

TracyR- I meant to congratulate you on getting to move on with the adoption process with Kally. I am so glad things are turning out well.
Buttercup- If we go in November then we will leave on the 9th but it's looking more like we are going to have to wait until January now.
Texasred- Sorry about the scare with Mason. Leata was only allergic to milk and not other milk products. She threw up though and that was not pleasant but not scary like hives and swelling.
Pauly- CONGRATULATIONS! It's so wonderful that you heard the heartbeat! Sorry that you are feeling sick but I bet it makes you feel better about things.
Sherri- Sorry that you are having such a hard time. I know that I would if I had to leave Leata.
Leslie- Like I said, Leata had problems with milk when she turned a year old. She did not have problems with other milk products though. She threw up every time she had milk though. We have just started her on it again though and she is doing fine with it so I guess she grew out of that problem. I would do like Buttercup said and stop until she is not congested anymore and then try again. If she is having problems wait a few months and try again. In the meantime soy milk is good. It has half the fat of whole milk though so make sure that you are getting her to eat otehr fats because it is important for brain development that they get enough fats right now.
Leanna- Hi! How are you? I hope that you are well. That's so fun that Jack likes the grass!
Hi Mara!
Terra- Sorry to hear that you are having problems with kidney stones right now. I just know that I thought that I was going to die when I had mine. I was in pain for 7 weeks with them!!!
Hi to everyone! I hope that you are all doing well.
I am so tired. We went to get Leata's passport stuff filled out this morning and then I went and got my driver's license renewed before it expires in ten days. Then Leata and I spent the day with my mom and we drove up to Sundance to see the fall colors (Sundance is only 11 miles from my mom's house). It was beautiful. I am just exhausted! I don't know what's up with this. I felt nauseous this morning too so I hope that I am not getting sick.

Hi Gals!
WBN2: You made me laugh with the dropping on the head comment. We've been thinking of smart-allec things we can say when people ask us why he has to wear the helmet. "We tend to drink a lot in the evenings and are prone to dropping him," "It was court ordered - that's what they do if you drop your kid on their head more than twice."
I've already had two moms say they were shocked that Henry has a flat head because they thought only children who are neglected got flat spots(constantly left on their back, or left in car-seats with bottle-props, etc.) I hate that some people will assume that about us. I want to wear a sign that says "My son is breastfed and we co-sleep, and I'm into baby-wearing." But oh well - there's judgers everywhere. It's nobody's business how we raise our child.
He wil have to wear it 24/7. We get it on Friday. They said it takes about two weeks to build them up to the 24/7 - you start an hour at a time - but we hope to get him up to speed faster than that because we put off getting it for so long (hoped it would self-correct with repositioning.) His head is only flat in the back - that's why you can't see it in any of the photos.
Hannah: Sounds wonderful - cleaning up and getting new furniture. How nice :D
LisaMarie: Eh, the sitter still drives me a little nuts - she is young and prone to a bad attitude - but I don't want to make a change right now, and I am here all day anyway and Hank seems to like her well enough. I'm not ready to put him in day-care, and this gal doesn't charge much compared to someone older with more experience.
So, are you feeling better?
In the mood now? hehe.
Lovebug: I have photos of Henry on myspace and here. I don't know - myspace feels the most annonymous to me - no one knows my real name or where I live - seems harmless. Everyone on this board knows all about me, so if one of you is a poser/sicko I'd have to worry more - lol!
Sherri:  It must be so hard to leave your Ava. I'm sorry you're struggling. I hope it gets better soon. Thinking of you.
Leanna: Jack is pulling himself up?!?!?!?!? You have an over-acheiver there!!! Hope you're baby-proofing the new house before the move
Michele: Wow - how scary!!!!! I'm glad Mason is okay! Hank has been fighting sleep since the day he was old enough to open his eyes - lol!!! If I had a solution I'd share it - let me know if you figure anything out!
Pauly: I had no idea you were pregnant - I've been so out of the loop! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!! Seeing the heart-beat is exciting!
Bye now lovies!

Kirsten - the flat head can also be from a neck thingy...I took Cohen to my naturopath/Chripractor his face a bit weird. Sure he was adorable butit wasn't symetrical and his neck was always going one way. This also gave him flat spots on his head. All fixed now! People would continually comment. It got annoying.

Thanks for all the support and encouragement. I'm hoping for a better day today.
Sherri is there anyway C can bring the baby to your work during the day at least until you get more used to being away from her? Maybe it won't seem like such a long day if you get a quick cuddle during the day.
Hi, yes, I think she will do this sometimes. But this week C isn't feeling well and just getting used to the routine of having the baby on her own all day. Plus it's a 45 minute trip on the Metro each way so it's a real excursion for them. Hopefully once they settle into a routine and C is feeling better, they will do this. A lot.
In November, we are having an office retreat which we all are "invited and expected to attend" in Hagerstown, MD, a 90 minute drive from home -- OVERNIGHT. I haven't talked to my boss about it, but there is NO WAY I am leaving Ava overnight. I think we have a solution though - this morning C and I talked about it, and she said they would come along. They can go off on their own during the day, and I can pump during breaks like I do at work, and I'll be with them in the evening, night, and morning. I am so glad she is willing! I was thinking about refusing to attend on principle! "Invited and expected." What the heck is that????
THANK GOD I'm only working Tues/Wed/Thurs for a few weeks. I figure - if all I produce is breastmilk, that's enough of an achievement for my first week here! Low expectations. That's my motto right now. Just gettin' through the day....

Sherri-Good Morning.
Terra-Hey hoosier! Whats shakin????? Any big plans for the weekend?
Well Porkchop just had a major sh!t fest in her pants. She was in her walker and I got her out to love on her and poop oooooooozed out EVERYWHERE! Needless to say..I had to give her a bath. She is back in bed now. It wore her butt out. hehe
Im feelin half way better now. Still tired. I have a mountain of laundry to do today...like 7 loads at least. ITs horrible.
Well I guess I should at least throw the first load in. Hmmph.
I want to make Halloween sugar cookies today and let Lucy decorate...but Im not sure if we will get to it.
Sometimes I feel like I dont do enough with her. Just need a mommy and LUcy day soon.

Leanna- Cassidy loves to pick and eat grass too.
LisaMarie- hope you are feeling better today. You really make me laugh- Cassidy just went back to bed too.
Sarah- That is awesome about England. I have to admit that I am insanely jealous.
Terra/Melanie- my nephew has Snewy- that blanket thing that holds your scent and loves it!!!
Michelle- I feel for you. Cassidy breaks out that way with cats- even if someone just has the dander on their clothing. It is scary. I hope that Mason is doing better and that you can get some sleep.
Pauly- Yeah on the h/b that is awesome!!! Good luck with the hair donation- I have done it a few times too. I hope you love your new shorter sassy doo.
WB#2- I am allergic to that dye too. I hope that Hannah is feeling better today.

WB#2...there is a solution that you can use on the inside of the dryer i can't remember the name of but i'm sure it is common at a hardware store...it is in a white 12 oz bottle with "crayon" something on it....and it works well on surfaces but i don't think you can use it on clothes...i will try to look it up and get you more info...haylie did the same thing fortunatly it was all her play clothes (just two sets cause of the mud she had on them)...will try to update you further...
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!!

hi LISA!!>.....
well i'm back to work again-1/4 of the way through hell week and it sucks...tomorrow is picture day at haylie's school and i won't get home in time to fix her hair!!! her hair is tight curly and very hard to manage, DH has just recently learned how to do a decent pony tail...used to he would brush and place head band, which worked till her hair dried and frizzed and tangled...so hopefully he does good and they will take pics early before she has chance to mess her hair up too bad!!! :?: ...anway just stoipping in for morning chat!!! i'm in firehouse alone and kinda bored!!! trying not to eat, but it's HARD!! :x

I had great luck today getting the crayon out of my dryer with a wet rag & toothpaste! Worked on some of the clothes, too. (08/14/2004)

Morning ladies!
TJ- My daughter's hair is hard to manage too. I'm always amused to see it by the end of her school day when I pick her up! Thankfully they took the the young kid's pictures first on picture day!
WB#2- That really sucks about the crayon! My DH has done the same with a black ink pen in with the whites, including all of his white dress shirts. Was really expensive to have to replace them all at once. Good luck!!
Mara- Good morning!
Michele- Yay on Cassidy's new teeth!
Lisa- Hope you got a little rest in this morning!
Kirsten- Good luck with the helmet. One of my friends had twins, and the boy had been a little squished by his sister in utero and had to wear one of those helmets when he was an infant. He's four now with a perfectly shaped head!
Sherri- That will be nice when Carol can bring Ava up for visits. :)
Well, last night Jack decided to sit up on his own and this morning I found his first tooth! It's just barely barely poking through. He hasn't been fussy at all so hopefully this is a sign that he'll be an easy teether like Bonnie was. He's just too freaking busy to be bothered with sore gums I guess. DH thinks he'll be walking within a month the way he wants to pull up and stand all the time... I don't want to think about a baby walking at 8 months. Gonna have to tether his feet or something.

Well Mason is completely over the hives thing. I used to get them when I was little (but more like 3+yrs) cats, dust, stuff like that triggered it. I told my mom about it and she said, "Oh I thought he'd at least be walking before it happened!"
Oh he is my child, I was telling my mom about how is he so not interested in sleep. She said I was the same way, from the get go. She said I obviously didn't need as much sleep as she did - ever (and my mom was a young mom, 19 - I'm 37!) She said she gave up and let me win on the sleep issue, guess I turned out ok...
Kirsten - My friend works at a Montessori and one of her kids there is wearing a helmet. She said the parents knew nothing of tummy time. How is that possible? But like you said I guess some kids just are prone to it. I kinda would have been like those other mothers, but I know you bf, co-sleep, and baby wear!!!! You can tell people you stand Hank on his head to put his shoes on, lol. My mom told me that when I was little and needed help putting Barbie's shoes on, she just stood her on her head and when I freaked out she said, "How do you think I got your shoes on you?"
Sherri - hope it gets better!
Ok sorry to anyone I missed, Mr. Mason is ringing the dinner bell!!!

By the time he was 4 months old we had to take him to the ER because he was having problems breathing. We came to find out that he is allergic to animals and I had watched my mom's dog that day. So he had an asthma attack. Of course we avoided animals and he seemed to clear up and stop "weezing" (he had a nebulizer for months to help clear this up). As we started to introduce foods to him (he was completely bf until this time) then we noticed his face not so clear anymore (red/hives) and he had bowel problems. We took him to the doctor and he recommend we get his allergies tested by a specialist. We did and found out he had food allergies! So we avoid certain foods and he has two medications: Zrytek and Singulair to keep him hive free. He still will have hive episodes every once in a while but we are now faithful ingredient label readers. I should mention that he has been on the Zyrtek since he was 4 months old. We introduced Singulair to him later on at 1 yr or so. He still has his allergies but the doctor seemed to think there was hope later on that he will grow out of them.
Sorry for the long post. I just wanted you to know that it can happen at a young age but it can be treated as well. Good luck and let me know if you need any support or have any questions. You may want to pm me if you do because I don't check the mom's board very often.

Hey Lucy, I'm home!!!
Didn't want to miss a day or Warden LisaMarie will be out to find me. Haha -- am back at work today (had training for two days -- do I seem smarter??). Took me almost all day to read posts from page 5, though. Just a slow reader, I guess.
Okay -- personals:
Welcome Ema!!
Sherri - I'm sorry to hear you struggling at work. It's not fun, but try not to feel guilty. Us Mommies do what we have to do!! Look at it this way -- you got Ava all to yourself for 9 months, now it's Carol's turn to enjoy her!! Hope your trip turns out to be a fun getaway.
Mara -- wow, a tooth. Congrats.
Terra -- I have to laugh at you being a dwarf, by definition. I'd check into IRS.gov to see if "vertically challenged" get a tax-break  I bet you are the cutest little thing, though. I don't ever want to stand beside you, though -- people would think I'm some circus freak...
Leanna -- I cannot believe what you found online about things being deep-fried (all I can say is "poor pig"). You're a gutsy-surfer!! Nope, cannot say I'd eat those either. How 'bout frying up some of your grapes -- now, I'd try those.
Medic -- they had deep fried oreos, too. DH would like those. I don't care for oreos, so I wouldn't try them. He can get them when I get my snickers!!
Red -- sorry about your scare. Mason has red hair, right?? Don't redheads typically have more allergies?? Not discriminating here, I've seriously heard that. I hope it was just an isolated incident. Good luck with the sleep, too.
Pauly -- CONGRATS!!! 28th sounds like your lucky number. Better play the lottery. If you don't have one, I'll play the number for you -- will have to keep some of the winnings, though  Hope you like the new haircut. I bet it'll look great...and be easier :D . My old hairdresser was too funny -- we were talking about men liking long hair and he said it was instinct. I asked why he thought that and he replied "it's just so they can pull women back into the cave!!" Every time I hear of a husband / boyfriend / etc. not wanting a woman to cut their hair, I think of that quote. Priceless
Buttercup -- your cakes were gorgeous. Too pretty to eat
Sarah -- sounds like a fun trip you're planning. I was in England (London) years ago for a few months -- unfortunately, it was on business. But, I did get to sightsee a little bit. GORGEOUS country. I'd love to go back some day.
Jamie -- Congrats on getting the news you wanted (not pregnant). Better be more careful next time when DH tries to take advantage of the tipsy wife
TracyR -- I'm so happy the adoption is going to go through!! They're such lucky kids to have found amazing parents :D
Michele -- I have to laugh at your DH calling us your ovary-friends. That's really funny
Hannah -- the earrings sound gorgeous. What a good idea to "recycle" the diamond.
Leslie -- Arianna sounds like she's doing really well. I don't know much about milk allergies, but it does seem coincidental. I hope she's not allergic, but atleast you caught it quickly. Start putting things away if she's that close to walking around by herself. Hurricane Matthew has broken quite a few things in the past few months
And, finally...LisaMarie!! Hope you're feeling better. Tell DH to take "matters" into his own hands until you feel better
Sorry to anyone I missed. Hello to All!!
Tonight will be the first time DH has kept Matt. Yes, he's 16 months old!! We're all nervous (me, mostly), but I'm hoping they can have fun. I'm going to a ladies-night-out at our church. I'll leave dinner and snacks, jammies, out -- and I'm sure they'll figure out the rest.
Also, Matt puked last night -- first time. Not sure why (he hadn't recently eaten), but felt much better afterwards. I had to clean it up and was gagging. I kept telling myself -- you're a mommy, you can do this!! I hope this is not a common occurence, though
Gotta get back to work...

Tracy - I have red hair and the jury is still out on what color Mason's hair really is, what little there is of it - lol. It depends on what lighting you're in. Some days it looks blonde (mostly), maybe a little brown, and then sometimes red.

Cheryl- That is a great picture! Justin is too adorable for his own good. Aren't the mountains beautiful right now? We went to Sundance the other day and it was so fun to drive up Provo Canyon and see the leaves changing.
How are you doing? How are things going with your house?
We are doing pretty good.. my mom has flown in for a couple of weeks (until the 18th) and is helping us out and spending some extra time with her grandson. We are used to her dropping in and out quite often and she obeys our house rules pretty good so it's a good thing. Besides, there are times when she can watch Justin while hubby and I sneak off for the bedroom! She and I will fly out the same day, she'll be heading back to her house in MS for a couple of weeks and then she will come back to do daycare for us until our house sells so I can go back to work.
I am having very mixed feelings about having to work, but we just have to get better income to get some of our bills paid down. I'm hoping if I work full-time until we get orders we'll get enough of our bills down so that when we get our orders I will be able to stay home full-time again. We'll see. I have to call my boss sometime this week though and see if I can get my old position back, or a similar one. I think it will help that I am asking to come back full time, instead of the part-time I had originally asked her about before Justin was born. Anyhow... I will be heading to my grandmother's house later this month in Kansas City and I am really looking forward to letting her see Justin.. and my sister is going to meet me there so she can see him.. and so she and I can hit the malls and go window-shopping and have fun hanging out. We haven't gotten to do that in several years now and I miss her!
As for the house... UGH. I can't believe, even after all the stuff we have done lately, we still don't have a single friggin bite. We're only asking $85,900 for it! My co-worker sold her house in this same neighborhood last fall for $96000 in less than two months and it has an unfinished basement... ours is fully finished! I think we are jinxed! Glad we decided to try and sell the house before putting in for orders or we'd be somewhere else and filing for bankruptcy right now to get out from under it. It's very frustrating that it is not selling. Next step is to try and clean up the back yard as much as we can and my mom is talking about trying to help us get a new tub and surround in the bathroom that would help also.
Sarah- That is awesome that you are going to get back to England to see your sister! I know how excited I am to see mine soon as well so I can certainly empathize. Hope the trip goes really well for you! Hey... there is a baby contest coming up at the Layton mall on the 16th I believe it is.... I was thinking my mom would enjoy putting Justin in it. Didn't you guys do one with Leata not too long ago? How does it work?
Gotta run for now... got a new outfit for Justin yesterday, but accidentally grabbed the wrong size so we gotta go back and get it in the right size today. Extra walking for mom and I though so that is good. TTYL!

Good afternoon ladies! Hope all is going well!
Terra - Tnx for the info on that doll. I will have to try that, or seomthing, anything!
Michelle - I'm so sorry to hear about Mason's allergies but glad to hear that he is doing well. You mentioned that Mason went through the sleeping on the pillow or in your bed thing at Dylan's age. Did, and if so when, did he get over it? Did you just continue to try putting him in his bed until finally he slept there?
Sherri - I'm sorry you are having such a rough time! I hope it gets better real soon! Maybe if you could just get really really busy at work it will make the time fly by! **BIG HUG**
Everyone else - HELLO! Hope everyones babies are being good for you!

hey ladies--I will catch up with you gals tomorrow. Going to work (yay) who would have thought I'd be excited to go to the daycare. Piper's going with me. If I quite babysitting from home I might go back 1 or 2 days a week consistently. May even enroll Piper in preschool there just to socialize some. Dunno yet--haven't made up my mind :D

Sorry ladies no time for personals. Life is very very stressful right now with some stuff going on. I will fill you ladies in later. But the jist is:
One, I might not have a job to go back to and if I do it might be a different one and more hours than I originally wanted.
Two, My dad is having major surgery next Friday to remove a cancerous tumor - he will lose a kidney and perhaps some of his intestines and even perhaps even a small section of his colon.
Three, Not looking forward to Gabi getting 4 shots next week.
Four, Money is getting tight now since I didn't get as much paid time off as I was promised.
Ok here is just a quick question about diapers:
How closely do you follow pounds guidelines on diapers?
We use Pampers Swaddlers size 1 that says it goes to 14lbs. I think Gabi is probably 10.5 lbs (not sure til next week when we see doc) and they just don't seem to fit right. TMI: Her poop lately seems to escape the diaper even when there isn't alot. Its comes out on the sides sometimes but most time it comes out the top of the diaper!
Do you think it's time to switch sizes or brands or style?
BTW: Today is Gabi's 2 month birthday and I love her to death but she still hates bathtime and she still eats every two hours!! Well at least now at nights she wakes every 3 hours!
Ok bedtime. Sorry again ladies for no personals perhaps over this long weekend I will get caught up.
TIA for the advice

Bella....YES!! Switch those diapers to a bigger size. Only go on the size of how the diaper fits the baby. If it gets a little snug, doesn't fit right or definitely when it starts to leak, CHANGE SIZES. You and she will be much happier. :D Good luck with the work thing.

I was trying to catch up on the boards then whammo! I just threw up and woke up Audrey....grrrrrrrrrrrr I feel bad. Luckily dh is home to help with her while I puke!
Bella - I'd switch sizes and/or brands. Every baby's bottom is different and not all brands will work well for her. I don't remember what the lbs are on the 1s. FOr an example though, 3's go up to 28 lbs. Audrey is about 21-22 lbs and the diapers are too short even though they say up to 28lbs. I've switched her to 4's now and we are both happier. I'd go by how they fit and not the weight. If you asked everyone here what their favorite brand of diapers are, you would get every brand and lots of reasons. You may just have to try different ones out until you find a good fit for her bottom.
I nursed Audrey and she ate every 2 hours for 9 months (more or less). I think that's pretty normal.
Off to bed. Night!

Mel - The pillow thing just kind of quit, don't have a reason as to why. As far as sleeping in his own bed... hmph. We have put him down a handful of times and once he actually went to sleep on his own. Most all of the time I take him to bed with me, nurse, I usually fall asleep and then wake maybe an hour or more afterwards and move him to his bed and cross my fingers! Tonight however after I nursed him while watching Grey's Anatomy he fell asleep, when it was over I took him to his bed - he never woke up. Now when I go to bed, wonder if he'll wake up?
Bella - Sorry to hear all that. About your diaper question. We had many different brands of diapers that were given to us as gifts. I personally liked the huggies, dh likes the pampers swadlers. With the swadlers the same thing happened, the poop would escape up and out the back. Right now Mason weighs a tad over 11 pounds, he's still wearing a size 1. Haven't had any problems as of late.

Bella- Sorry that you are going through so much right now. I know how that goes. It's really difficult to have to go through so much at once when you have a little baby to take care of all of the time.
I hope that things go really well for you dad. That doesn't sound like fun.
I hope things work out the best that they can with your job. I know that must be so stressful.
As for diapers... Pauly is right. Every kid is shaped differently so you are going to get a lot of different opinions. Luvs work best for Leata. We tried more expensive brands and the really cheap brands but Luvs just seem to fit Leata. She is in threes right now. She is still in the weight range for 2s but is too long for them so she wears threes. I would try going up a size but if that doesn't work try different brands.
I hope that your stress lets up soon. I am thinking about you!
Pauly- Isn't morning sickness lovely? I don't know what I am going to do with Leata while I am pregnant again (it is going to happen). Hopefully it will be bettter then when I was pregnant with her. Potty training will not be fun if she is still working on it while I am pregnant because cleaning out her potty will make me sick for sure (doesn't bother me now though). At least you know it is a good sign. I am so happy that everything is going well for you!
Terra- HAve fun at work tomorrow!
Medic- A baby squirrel!? That should be interesting. I am sure that the kids will love it though!
Not much going on here. We left Leata with my mom and siblings while we went to a movie tonight. We went to see Cars. The first time we went we took her which was a big mistake but we had free tickets to the dollar theater so we went and it was fun. She loves my family and was telling us to go. She was being really silly when we got back. She was laughing at herself and saying Bobo over and over again. She does it because everyone thinks it is funny. Then she was feeding goldfish crackers to everyone and saying thank you when she gave them to people because that is what they said to her.
I got new lenses for my glasses today. Maybe that will help with my headaches. I hope that it does. my prescription was off. I only use them to read and on the computer though.
Well, it is bedtime now. I am really tired again. I need to sleep. I am going up to the air force bas with my mom tomorrow and that is always exhausting because she has to looks at everything at the BX and commisary and she takes all day to do it but when we go with her she buys lots of stuff for us.

Bella- Where do your buy your diapers (wlamrt. kmart, target, grocery store, etc.)? Some store brands seems to be pretty good while others are terrible. I suppose that even the ones that I think are terrible have people that love them though.

Good Morning everyone!
Huge mommy guilt today. Anthony was wailing when I left him at my parents this am. He just kept crying and reaching his arms out to me. Broke my heart. I emailed my sister who was there this am and she said he was fine 5 min later happily playing.
Bella - I am sorry you are dealing with so much. Many prayers for your dad. I hope Gabi's shots go ok. As far as the diapers definately go up a size - it will make a huge difference. And I agree all babies are different. We use Huggies and Pampers. Anthony is in a 3 for both. My mom uses Walmart brand for him at her house and they fit fine as well. I think it is all personal choice.
Pauly - ugh...hope you feel less pukey!
Texas - Hope you got some sleep last night! Anthony was waking every 2-3 hours as well when I was nursing. I think it is normal.
Hi to everyone else! I have a meeting in 20 minutes and I want to call home since I won't have a chance until lunchtime. If the meeting gets boring - I will be back on here entertaining myself!! :D

Very quiet morning here. Mason seems to have a new routine, he still wakes up somewhere around the 5am hour, but he doesn't go back to sleep. DH is going in to work late this morning (he had to go back to work last night and didn't get home until after 1am) while he got in the shower I brought Mason in here with me while I made coffee, just as soon as I sat on the couch with the laptop he started fussing (he's on the playmat right next to me) within a minute he's out, like a light. Funny kid. My mom will get a kick out of this when she come to visit today.
Not much going on here, enjoying the peace and quiet and my coffee... I love coffee.
Anybody got any plans for the weekend?

Arrrggghh.. I hate the phone company. I swear I don't even know why we have a land line phone. Our phone bill is like $60+ every month, we do have DSL which makes it go up, I think total it's more like $75. Our home phone doesn't even have the ringer turned on. But dh swears we need a land line phone. We use our cell phone exclusively. DH doesn't even pay for his, it's through work. My cell phone has over 7000 rollover minutes (oh, and this is a plan I share with my mother) and we lose minutes every month.
That porkchop is one cutie patootie! She is starting to look more like Lucy. gotta go refill my coffee...

*LONG BIIIIIAAAAAAAAAATCH FEST*
Ok...my sis moved to Kentucky. IN the process she called me two times from a payphone collet. I accepted and knew I would be charged dearly for it. Well then she got her a house and would call me collect during the day while she was home. BUT during the day I keep my computer on ALL day..because I hate hearing the phone ring and so on. SO when she would call my CALLWAVE would pick it up. If you arent familiar with that..its like an online answeringmachine/voicemail with callerid. So I knew who was calling. So when I would see that she tried to call. I would disconnect and call her back because I have unlimited long distnace. When the callwave would pick up it would say.."you have collect call from..shelly..will you aceept these charges" Well sinec I didnt pick the phone up or whatever..it would say..."this caller is disconceted"or something liek that. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOo I get my motherfloggin phone bill yesterday and like I knew I was...I was charged dearly for the time I did accept the calls. But the times where she called and my callwave got it..they charged me 6.14 EACH TIME! I did NOT pick my phone up. I did not talk to ANYONE. And they still charged me 6.14. I know that dont seem like alot. But on the next bill...she called me like every freakin day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I know I didnt pick the phone up because like I said..I keep the computer on all day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So Ic alled my phone company. The lady said AT &T shouldnt have charged me for that if I didnt pck the phone up and what she could do was send them a letter saying fees not paid..then AT&T woiuld have to bill be and then I would have to dispute it if they did. I am HONKEDDDDDDDDDDDD offffffffffffffffffffff! So we shall see I guess. I ended up putting a blocker on my phoen so sis cant call collect anymore. I told her I would have to do that. So Now IM fighting AT&T....THEY SUCK!

Oh Lisa - that sucks! I think phone companies are such scammers - no wonder everyone is going to cell phone usage.
Texas - No plans. DH is gone to OHIO with MIL for my niece's 1st b-day today. So it is just Anthony and I this weekend. Anthony will sleep at my moms tonight so I can get a good sleep tonight and do a bunch of housework tonight. Tomorrow I want to vacuum out the car and wash it as well as wash the windows from the outside. Saturday night we may go visiting - not sure yet. Worse case my baby and I snuggle all night in bed! I also want to work on a menu plan for next week as well as go grocery shopping - I plan on Monday starting WW full force. I think I am going to try core. I want to lose 40lbs to TTC#2. Sunday is church and my parents for lunch with my sis and BIL and niece. Monday I have off and it is Canadian Thanksgiving - so plan on lots fo R&R!!! What are your plans.

Hi Girls,
Leanna- that is sooo funny about picture day hair. My niece Daphne is the same way. She goes to school with pretty hair and comes home like a lion- and never ever with the clips, ribbons, or headbands that she went in with.
Tracy- My DH took Cassidy for the first time last Sunday. They went to a paintball festival thing. He just wanted to show her off. He even planned for the event by ordering a “My Dad is a Rockstar” shirt from Old Navy. It was really cute but I have to admit I was a nervous Nellie.
Bella- I would switch up the diaper size. We did (even though Cassidy wasn’t in the lb bracket) and we were all happier. I am hoping things work out with your job and you will all be in my thoughts and prayers for next Friday.
Mara- we all feel that guilt. Enjoy your sleep tonight!!!!
LM- The phone company definitely has you pinned up against the wall. I had a horrible time with Verizon a few years ago and ended up switching to IDT. I haven’t had a problem since. Good luck!!!!!
Hey Hannah- post pics of your new furniture. I went out 2 weeks ago and bought a new kitchen table, chairs, server, and bedroom set- I love new furniture. Can’t wait to see yours… not that you have time with all of this “welcome home” business.

Hi Girls,
My mom, Cassidy and I are headed to Florida this weekend to see my Mom-mom. We leave tomorrow morning and return Tuesday. I have no idea what to expect traveling with Cassidy. I am hoping that she’ll be fine. I did call the airlines to see about gate checking the coach. They said it was no problem. Think I can just leave the car seat in the coach so I don’t have to check that in too??? I have no problem checking it in but I just don’t want the base or car seat to get lost. Let me know your thoughts and any traveling tips…..
Thanks,

Michele- FUN!! We gate checked the buggy but did not have the correct tag and they ended up sending it down with the luggae at the door. make sure when you check in you ask them to tag both the base and the buggy. You definately want them to gate check it. So much easier to put the baby in the stroller while you walk the miles to your luggage pick-up. We bought Anthony a seat so we had the carseat with us. You definately do not want it lost or damaged (they pay small amounts for what you actually paid) so I would not risk it.
I have some coupons:
- 2 coupons for $25off $100 purchase at Coldwater Creek (exp. 10-31-06 and 11-30-06)
- 2 couponsJC Penney prtraits (free 8X10, no sitting fee, $3.99 ea. traditional portrait sheets or $7.49 for 37 portraits (1-8X10, 2-5X7, 4-3.5X5, 24 wallet and 6billfolfds))(expires: 3/1/07)
Let me know if you want them - I can send them out.

Good morning ladies. I am off work today. I had almost 30 hours of vacation time and I get to take it this month, so I chose to be off every Friday of this month! WOO WOO...So nice. I took an hour long bath this morning, did some catch up reading for grad school, and now just sitting my big lazy butt on the couch.
Lisamarie, I HATE ATT. When I was in college, they sent me bills for cell phones I never had!!!! I called month after month and told them I never had a cell phone with them, and every month they would say, oh i am sorry, we wil take care of that, and they never did. I finally lost it with them and they never sent a bill to me again.
Michelle, have fun in Florida!
We are going to Memphis this weekend, we are having family photos made at JCPenneys for christmas cards. I think my mom, dad, brother, sil and her two kids are going to come with us for extended family photos, too. Should be interesting. I have the portrait club membership, so no sitting fees, and found a 50% off coupon. Nice!
How is everyone doing today?

Well, Ladies --
I'll apologize up front on behalf of telephone companies. I'm only an accountant (don't deal with billing & customers), but I've worked for BellSouth for almost 10 years. Will be At&t once the takeover goes through. I swear some of us are nice people
I, too, have had my difficulties and have had to go ballistic here and there. I'm so sorry, it gets so frustrating. These huge companies just have no idea (nor do they usually care) how to deal with customers on an individual basis!! Y'all are doing the right thing by fighting. You do not have to pay bills you don't owe. Keep it up!!
Bella -- we never went by the diaper-sizes. Once Matt started to fill up a diaper size consistently, we moved up. We're in Huggies 5s right now!!
Well, DH did really well with Matt last night while I was out. They played, snacked and watched Empire Strikes Back. Even worked on Matt's cars a bit (he's funny...he'll turn them over and mess with all the parts -- just like Daddy). He got to bed with no problems. I'm very proud of DH. He did make me laugh, though. He felt the need to inform me how tiring it was to watch a small child for an entire evening. Wow -- I had no idea
No big weekend plans. Just hanging out with my little man. Maybe straighten up the house, run a few errands. We are having dinner with some friends tomorrow night, too.
Working from home today, so I don't have much of a chance to post any more. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, though!!

lol Tracy.... ehhee I KNOW you are nice. I just dont understand why they are charging me. Like just a few mins ago my damn sister called AGAIN. And it says I WILL NOT be charged for it. SO I shall see. I basically wont know much till my next phone bill comes.
Im tired......

Will it never end?? DH, DD and I went to my OB appt everything was great there baby is measuring right on target great heartbeat. So we get home Hannah jumps out of the truck while DH is trying to catch her and misses. She lands cheek first into the asphalt driveway. She scuffed up her cheek and chin and the cheek is swollen and black and blue chipped two teeth and hit the side of her head and ear. Called the ped and was like you are not gonna believe this. So she got some tylenol and is napping. Freaked me out because she cried for like an hour. But she never lost consciousness and is coherant so ped said to watch her and I was doing a great job. Hubby on the other hand is a mess and says I broke my baby. He is fawning all over her are you ok honey? So ear infection/high fever, cough, ER visit, and now a fall all in ONE WEEK. And we are having another one?

LM - yeah I guess I sort of do...I'm not "actively" trying but if it happened I wouldn't be upset. I did absolutely love being pg!! I guess I just know how my relationship is right now with DH and he does like 10% of the work in our household and I do the other 90% so on top of working full time, teaching aerobicx, doing all of the things to take care of our household, and take care of Aiden I just can't fathom having another one until Aiden is a little older.

On average Aiden's medical bills have been running us $500+ a month  If I really wanted another one I could definitely try and easily could do some more drunk floggin but I just know in my heart that right now isn't the right time.

Hey ladies! TGIF!!!!
I get a three day weekend (Thank you banking holidays) and I'm so happy I get to be with Emma for three days. Just thought I'd stop in to say hi. The company that took over my company offered me a new job. I applied for one job with them and they actually offered me a different position. A little bit of a pay increase (not as much as I was hoping for though), and it's closer to home so I'm seriously thinking of taking it. Will ponder it over this weekend...
Everyone have a fabulous weekend!

Hey girls....this is just a drive by posting......
My parents are in this weekend and are having a blast with the baby. They bought us a new entertainment center and Dad and DH are putting it together. It is driving DH nuts, though. My dad goes step by step and has to read the instructions like 20 times. I just heard DH open a beer.....
I have been such a bad girl today on my diet....Mom's b/day was yesterday and I have had cake for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Oh, and a local resturant (Tastee Cream....I swear that is the name and has been for over 50 yrs...sounds like a porn place, doesn't???) was selling deep fried oreo's today!!!MMMMMMMMM.....gained 50 lbs today, I swear! They were 3/$2!!!!!! And we are going to a local festival tomorrow, and I will be eating fried pies and funnel cake.
Some of you girls are going for records DTD!!! hehehehehe TMI, but DH and I were spending quality time recently and I cut one! He keeps throwing it up in my face.....     Even after all these years together I am soooooo embarrased!!
Ok, I am going to try and do a few personals....
Lisamarie - Hey there groovy chick!!! What are you all doing today?
Jamie - I am glad that things worked out for you as you wanted.
gotta run....DH just told me that when he gets through with me tonight I will never talk again..... I think he is getting pissed at my dad....gotta go help them keep peace. Hi to everyone else and I hope to be back shortly! Take care and God Bless!

Im wore out. Went back and cleaned up SIL and BIL's house. They are selling it and have an open house tomorrow. They cleaned it up pretty well(actually bil did). I just went in and spruced it up. Really cleaned the kitchen. OMG..it was so freakin nasty. Yuck.
Krissy-hehehehe..Cuttin the cheese in bed eh? hehehe Ive never done that. hehehe Im sure my time is coming.
Thats great your mom and dad are down and they bought you an tv center. Did you get my pm?
Karen-LOL...we do want more. BUT....I told dh and Im dead seroius..I want to sell our house and then buy another before I even think about it. Plus I really want to lose the weight again ..it made such an awesome pregnancy with Porkchop. SOOOOOOOOOO Im think after we move..which we are hoping in May...but Im sure next fall will be more like it. Then...we plan on tryin again.

Ok I'm back from an entire day with 13 2-yr olds! Not my ideal age group, but actually was a nice change from the baby I watch. My only issue was cleaning up like 20 dixie cups of spilled milk and trying to change diapers with the kids standing up. Pretty funny thing to watch! Took Piper today--she was a hot mess this morning. Woke her up at 7 and she was ready for a nap by the time we got there. I have her in the toddler room, so no morning naps here. She got better as the day went on. Just took her a while to adjust, but really for her 1st whole day there, she did really good. She got to nap in the care when we left for Gymboree and when I got my lunch so her afternoon was much better. And get this--I let her take her lovey inside for the afternoon--her pony that she sleeps with and helps her cope with things. She decided that pony needed a bath and she dunked him in the toilet!!!!   She was soaked too--needed a change of clothes. Good thing the toilet is just there for looks and isn't used. She was very angry with the teachers when they rung the water out of her pony and tied him up in a bag. She just didn't understand why she couldn't have him. Too funny!
Cathy--I love the name Xander :D
Hannah & TJ--WOW to both on your nonstop BD'ing! 2 times in one day was plenty for me! Maybe in another 10yrs when I hit my prime we can talk again! hahahahaha
Bella--HUGS-Sorry you have to go through all of this right now. I hope things get better for you. I agree with the others on probably just need the bigger size diapers. And huggies run a little bigger than pampers--they just aren't as stretchy.
Sarah--Leata sounds like such a character :D
Lisa--Phone companies can be shady!! Hope you get those fees waived. If not, give 'em hell!
Tracy--Woo hoo for DH not killing Matt  LOL
WBN2--Sorry about Hannah's fall! Poor girl! Hope she recovers quickly.
Cristen--Cool about the job offer from the new company.
Oh and I have confirmed that I can enroll Piper at the daycare for either 1 day or 2 and work for 2 days and still make $$ Depending on how many hours I work--a little more or less than what I should be making from my neighbors. Sounds like a plan and my bosses are all excited and really want me there more. They love me--just means I'm good at what I do there. It's good to feel wanted :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUDREY!!!
Ok this is just a quick check in- If i don't get my house clean today I will go crazy!!! Plus we are entertaining a new family from church tomorrow- So its a must do!! But I missed ya'll the last two days and had to check in and see what you ladies were up to...
Terra- Piper is too funny! I hope it works out for you to go back to the daycare- Sounds like an ideal situation.
Hannah, TJ- Man where do you find the energy? After two rounds with Dh (which has only happed a few times ever) I'm ready to hibernate for the winter LOL!
Bella- I will be praying for your dads surgery to go well and that they can get all the cancer removed. Scary stuff! We also use and LOVE pampers. Leaking out was my cue to go up a size. With both my kids (who are on the small side) they were in size threes forever I think by five months old Anna was in threes and has stayed there since but she only weighs 17lbs at 13 1/2 mo.
Jamie- Wow on Aidens med bills  I understand though cause we are in the same boat with being several thou in debt because of Anna's respritory stuff- and that's with insurance  hope Af shows up soon for you!
Krissy- Hope Dh dosen't kill your dad, esp since he just bought you a new entertainment center
Cristen- A new job with a raise and closer to home?! Sounds like a winner! Congrats!
Lisa Marie- I hope and pray you will be able to find a new house soon and get out of crazyville!
Ok I have to share ...I feel like the shopping queen! I had to take Noah to Boise yesterday for some medical tests. Afterward we went to the mall because I had some gift cards I was itching to spend. The Children's Place was having 1/2 off all their clearance stuff. I went crazy! Noah got 2 pairs of jeans, 1 pair of blue cords, 1pair of khaki cord overalls, 3 long sleeve shirts, 1blue knit sweater, 1 khaki cord baseball hat, and 1 pair of striped socks. Anna got 1 pink cord dress, 1 long sleeve cream bodysuit, 1 pink shrug sweater, 1 khaki cord bloomer type pants, 1 leopard print skirt, and 1 pair of white capris (for next summer). All those clothes retailed for $178 and I was only charged $95 after taxes- But the best part is I had a $75 gift card so I was only out $20!!! Whoo Hoo $178 worth of adorable kids clothes for only $20! Then to top it off my BF gave me a $45 gift card to Victorias Secret last Christmas and my mom sent me a $10 off any bra and a free pair of panties coupon. So I got a brand new bra and a free pair of panties and I still have $8 left on my gift card! On Monday we have to go back to Boise so DH said I could buy myself a new pair of shoes for our vacation. Whoo Hoo I love to shop!!!
Ok enough chatting - I need to get my tush in gear and get motivated to clean! Have a great weekend ladies!
God Bless-

Buttercup- I love shopping for bargians. You did great especially with the gift cards! Leata has a pink courd dress from Chidren's place. I wonder if it is the same one?
Leata is in size threes at 16 months and I don't think that she will be out of them before she is completely in pull ups or underwear. She wears pull ups when we are at home durning the day now. They are big but we adjust them to the tightest they can be. Fortunately she rarely wets them so it's not a big deal that they are two big!
I think we will be here when you come through so just let me know if you are going to have time to take a break in beautiful Provo!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUDREY & PIPER!!!
I just cannot believe these girls are already one years old!!! Where does the time go?!!! I haven't had a chance to catch up on you ladies yet but I will try in the next few days. We have had my parents just recently leave, we're in the midsts of packing to move into our new house Nov 1st, Bens' mom should be arriving any minute now from Arkansas and his grandparents will be here next weekend from Florida!!!   CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY is all I gotta say!!! Anyway I did see the last few posts....and I want the low down of exactly who is trying to get preggo already:?: I have been going to the gym EVERY morning now for over a week for about 1-2 hrs. I feel awesome and I'm curious as to where my thyroid levels are...will find out in two more weeks. Beyond that, Gavynne lost her second front tooth, (a little self conscious now of her looks  ) Aiden is clapping now when you say yeay and is walking around holding onto things..like the coffee table that he keeps smack'in his head on! Poor guy..might have to put that away for a little while. Well, taking my MIL out for sushi so gotta go get my face on, by for now! :D Have a great night girls!

This day was a blur it seems like. Went to the store....came home..cooked dinner..made cookie dough so we can make Halloween cookies tomorrow...blah blah. Dh had an all day side job. So it was just me and the girls...like always.
I am craving adult interaction. Seriously. If I could have time to myself..the one thing I would want..is to have 1.5 hours every other day at least to go to the Y. I need 'me' time and with that time I need to get in shape. I just dont know the answer. We dont have anyone. Most folks have someone to watch their kids for them once in awhile..like parents...good friends...ya know. Nope. NOt here. lol Im just blah tonight.
Toodles.

Bella - So sorry about the rough time you are going through right now with Gabby! I hope it gets better soon.
Michelle - Thnx for the info and I LOVE LOVE LOVE GREYS! I tivo it just in case I have to miss it! It's such a good show. Are you in favor of the meredith mcdreamy match? I am, they deserve each other. Neither of them are the cream of the crop in the personallity department.
LM -So sorry bout the phone company. I have those kinds of issues with my cell phone company. Well did, it's better now. Hope you get all those stupid fees waived!
Cristen - G/L with the job. Hope u enjoy it!
Nothing new here. Little Dylan is doing great. He's a eating farting machine. What can I expect, he's his father's son. Still won't sleep anywhere but in my arms but I'm dealing with it... Well have a good w/e ladies!

Hey Lisa--bring your kids up here--I'll watch them for you LOL :D Really if you ever come this way!
OMG--365 days ago I was in labor  I seriously can't believe that tomorrow is her birthday. We had pics at Penney's today. Turned pretty good. She wasn't in the mood because she got up way too early and was tired by then. Have a couple that are just adorable though. Will post them in a couple weeks when they come in--didn't put them online this time. We had a couple pics in her halloween costume too. Changed my mind and she is going to be a butterfly instead. I wanted this one for her last year, but they sold out before I could get one.
Ok gotta hit the sack--big day tomorrow :D

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUDREY & PIPER!!!
LisaMarie - I know what you're saying about leaving your kids with someone while you do something, but at the Y I used to teach at had an awesome childcare system set up. For one thing the room was mainly all windows, and parents got one of those buzzer things (like you get when you go out to eat and you have to wait on a table) and they buzz you it needed. I've worked for 3 different Y's and a handful of other gyms and the Y was by far the best. And you'll be there for just and hour or so. Check into it. The short break of just walking on the treadmill or whatever will do you good. Plus a lot of Y's offer mommy type exercise classes during the day where you'd actually take porkchop with you.
Mel - I love Grey's Anatomy!!! So does dh. This season has started out so good. Yes, I'm for Meridith & mcdreamy too. This season is going to be very interesting...

Hey Melanie-
Ruby was only sleeping in my arms for awhile, too. I discovered recently that propping her in her Boppy pillow seems to simulate the feeling of being held and she will nap there! No good for overnight, but for daytime when I can keep my eyes on her...have you tried this? Thankfully, Ruby will also sleep in her bassinet, but only at night when Tom and I are in the room with her. We can even put her down awake and she will grunt herself to sleep...it's pretty cute to listen to!
Good luck!

Weather is beautiful! Just bein a bum today. Been hangin out with dh and the girls. Dh is finishin his side job later on. Im makin hamburgers now for lunch. Then Im hopin the girls take a nap.
I have a massive headahe. TMI..but when I blow my nose bright green snot comes out. My head feels like its gonna explode.
I went to our YMCA website to look up their daycare and what not. They charge just a small fee for them to watch your kid while you do your thang. I got to lookin at the personal trainers and its 35 bucks an hour! Is that free for members or is that for members? Thing that sucks butt is one of the trainers is a chick dh used to hang wiht when he was younger...talk about intimidating.
Anyways................helllllllllllllllllllllllll lllllo girls..hope you are havin a great day!

Lisa~ hope you feel better soon. Head colds are the worst. When we looked into the Y it was a flat fee for all family members. The daycare was free but was only provided at certain hours in the morning then evening not all day. Then the personal trainer we got a consult for free and you could ask occasional questions for free but if you wanted like a weekly weigh in consult type thing then it was a fee. Then the extra classes like gymnastics and such for the kids or other ones you want to take are at a seriously discounted rate since you are a member.
Friday evening I got these broken blood vessels in my eye really weird. They are lightening up some. Gotta get to the eye dr monday. Not sure how it happened. Have had to wear my glasses so I have like constant headaches. I have been having MS only in the mornings and it sucks. TMI I hate throwing up.
Hubby and I had some good alone time last night snuggled in front of our fire pit roasting marshmellows and making smores YUMMY. I love this fall weather. Today the whole family is going out to the mall so I can shop for maternity clothes woo hoo I am so excited (NOT).

Hey girls! Hope everyone is well! My parents left a few minutes ago and my house is a SHAMBLES!!! Seriously, you cannot even sit in our living room furniture cause they piled so much crap on the couch! Newspapers, pop bottles, towels..... it is like a frat house for senior citizens! That being said, I love love love them very much and am so glad that they got to come in. Dad's health is getting worse and mom is stressed to the max, but they had a blast with the baby! They just make snobby/stupid remarks and Tim has a hard time keeping his mouth shut. TMI, but I kept him relaxed all weekend w/beer and me. hehehehehe And they gave us a new entertainment center that is Emily proof!!! I love it, but Emily doesn't! lol
Lisamarie - Hamburgers...yummy....I have to go to the grocery store later..yuck....DH is hunting w/his brother so E and I are going to spend $$$$. I have been such a bad girl on my diet this weekend. How have you been doing?

Krissy- Yay on the Emily-proof entertainment center. :)
Just a drive by post really. We spent the weekend "repairing" the insanely tedious list of stuff the house inspector found wrong with our house. The people buying our house technically can pull out of the contract if we don't fix everything, even though it's all really small stuff. Anyway, we have it all done now so we can sit back and keep our fingers crossed that their financing and everything goes smoothly so we can close on this thing!
Jack is keeping us busy with the crawling and getting into everything. One more week of fall break for Bonnie. Taking her to the ENT tomorrow... her tonsils/adenoids have been getting bigger. She is not sick but they are interferring with her sleeping, eating and even her talking some. She doesn't have a history of sore throats, so we are making the case for having them removed based on the sleep issues. Hoping they can get them out quickly. It really scares me to think of her having any kind of surgery, but I just know they have to come out.
Hope everyone has been having a nice weekend! I'm just waiting on Jack to wake up from a nap now so we can go stain my parents' deck. Fun stuff!

Tonsil removal is a very very easy and quick surgery. I will warn you because we didn't get the warning when my neice had hers out. Initially the kids are great and bounce back but at like a week it gets horrible. She was in pain and cried. Ped said it was normal to have a bad reaction. Uh like thanks for telling us.

OMG.................Porkchop is a maaaaaaaaaaadwoman!!!!!!!!!
She is throwing the hugest fit because I put her to bed. I tried to lay her down about a hour ago and she fussed. So I got her up and let her play while I did a few things. Then dh got home from his side job and she played with him for a bit. So I just now went and laid her down and she screamed bloody hell. She never does that. Even if she isnt so tired she lays there and goos and plays. Hmm..dont knwo what her deal is.
Heres something Ive been meaning to ask. She rolls from her back to her belly...BUT REFUSES to rolll from her belly to back. Im thinkin there is something wrong with her. She screams if she is on it more than five minutes. Ive worked with her some and she dont like it. Do I need to call the peds over this? For pete sakes she is 7 mths. hmmm...

Lisa - is she maybe in the early stages of being sick?! Cohen got fussy just before his nose became runny! If that happens I tend to give a dose of pain relief in case there is a little ache or something coming on. If it helps them sleep then I was right...if not they are just fussy. She may be teething?! I also have some homeopathic stuff...
Cohen has sniffles...Kelan is constipated big time!

Lisa- Have fun at Wal-mart. I am not ready to think about Christmas. I'm sure if I ask Bonnie what she wants, she will say Polly Pockets (she has a million of them) or something completely ridiculous. LOL ok I just asked her and she said she wants a polly pocket set with more polly pockets than you could ever count. Too bad kid, you're getting a house.
WB#2- Thanks for the tonsil tips.
Hannah- G'day! Still need some updated pics of your sniffling, constipated boys! ;) How's the new beau? Did you have a nice weekend?
Meeting a couple friends and their babies at the park for a picnic lunch today. Want to get out and enjoy this weather while it lasts. Then Bonnie has her doc appointment. They want us there half hour before the appointment, I wonder why? Also, I wonder why I didn't think to ask when the receptionist gave me the appointment time.
I'm starting to get nervous about selling this house. Worried that something will fall through with the lady's financing or something, and then we will have just pulled this house off the market for a month for nothing. Guess it's normal... just won't feel like it's a sure thing until we actually close.

I told her I have to go tomorrow and she wants Aiden here w/ her..BONUS! It's not easy packing up everyone the night before, a break will be nice! :P Welllll off to relax a bit...Aiden was up four times last night! Darn colds! :x
