I have a question I took provera last month to bring on my period ( i hadn't had a period in over a year) so I could get an hsg done however my period lasted too long and I wasn't able to keep my appointment I didn't get my period this month and am on day 38 of my cycle didn't ovulate and since no period no hsg... so my dr prescribed me provera again this month. so what i was wondering is since I had a period last mo will my period be as long as last time since i didnt go as long without a period? i really want to get the hsg done and over with so i can get on meds to get pregnant.

I've taken Provera lots in my TTC journey since I usually don't have a regular cycle at all. I've found that the longer I go between cycles, the worse and longer AF stays. I just took it awhile ago and started on CD 25 or so, and AF was pretty easy on me (about 3 days long). I can't say how it will be for you, but it has to be better than the AF after going a year without one! Good luck!

I understand how you feel georgia
I went 8 months without a period before being dx with PCOS and they put me on provera to induce a period...Mine lasted 6 days. They put me on clomid as well because we are TTC. Getting bloods done tomorrow to see if i O then should find out on monday if they will up the clomid or what.
Good luck and I hope things work out for you.

I am in the same boat. I never got my period on my own (except when I was 15-16 lol) but the longer you stay without a period the worst AF will be. So this time it shouldn't be as bad. Good luck!!

I just ended my 10 day span of Provera on Wednesday (last pill taken Wednesday evening) and it must have worked for me because today is Friday and AF came in all of her glory! Woo hoo! This was my first time with Provera. Now I'm going to use an ovulation predictor kit and see if that's happening. I know it may not be accurate but I thought I'd give it a shot.

Well with the OPK's you dont know until you try. Its interesting to see that most people get put on 10 days provera...I was only put on 7 days...Dont know if that makes a difference or not.
My AF wasnt actually too bad...Had a bit of cramping etc and slightly tender nipples couple days before and bloating all way through but that was it. May have been lucky with that one.
im currently CD22 and was getting AF cramps yesterday lol dunno what was going on there considering i dont even know if i ovulated and shouldnt be due for AF until next week at least. hopefully clomid worked and AF doesnt turn up lol...BFP be wayyy better
