Hello! I was diagnosed with PCOS last year and I have dealt with the awful hirsituism since I was 16... I'm now 26 and I've had enough of this crap LOL ... I am taking BCP which helps regulate my cycle but has done nothing for the hirsituism.... I decided to drop the bucks ( I got a deal for $ 750.00 )on electolysis to see if it would solve the problem... I had my first tx this past weekend and I have 5 more to go... you have to wait 7 -10 weeks until you can get your next tx but they ( american laser centers in dearborn Mi ) GUARANTEE no hair growth for 2 yrs after all is said and done...they said sometimes the hair is stubborn and requires more than 6 treatments but it should only be 2, maybe 3 more at the most.. Hey, it's worth a shot!! My next tx isn't until nov. 18th, but I will keep everyone posted as to the outcome... they said after your first tx you may not notice a whole lot but that the speed at which the hair grows slows down - not a whole lot - but you may notice it... I think in my case it slowed down a teeny buit - but it was reassuring !! LOL I hate it, it's the worse EVER... I pray to God it works!!!

Hi Danielle,

I am also 26 and HATE my hirsituism as well. I'm not trying to discourage you, but I went to the American Laser Center in April of 2005, dropped $2100 and 1 1/2 years later, approx. 16 treatments later (they told me 6), still has only been reduced by about 50%. Which means I still shave every single day. Which also means I have a severe attack of low self esteem every morning in the shower :) Like I said before, I'm not trying to discourage you and just wanted you to know my experience. Hopefully it works better for you!
