Breakout after starting meds?

I'm currently 32 and was just diagnosed last week with PCOS. I was prescribed 1000mg of metformin daily. I started taking the Metformin Extended Release about a week ago and my acne has flared up pretty badly. I've had severe acne since age 11 and finally had it very well controlled with skin care and vitamins and hadn't had a painful breakout in a couple years.
Has anyone else had this problem when starting metformin and how long did it take to go away?

Now that you say that, I just started metformin last night and my face broke out already! I've never had an acne problem. Certainly I'd get the occassional pimple, but I have 4 or 5 gigantic zits on my forehead. Sick! Hopefully someone else can chime in who can offer some advice or encouragement.
