Has anyone been taking Tagamet/Cimetidine (the acid-reducer medication) for PCOS symtoms?

I just learned about this and am curious.

Neither Yasmin nor Spiro has worked well for me due to negative side effects. I'm taking Saw Palmetto (in addition to my Metformin) and think I notice some improvement. I had no idea that Tagamet could be used for this purpose, and I'd like to know from women who've tried it about your experience - Any side effects? How effective on PCOS?

Thanks,
Tish

I should probably add that I already take an acid reducer (Ranitidine 300mg) for tummy problems, so the possibility of taking Tagamet could probably just replace that, but perhaps with an added benefit of anti-androgen (??).

Geoffery Redmond mentions it in one of his earlier books. Good news for Womens Hormones. if I am not mistaken. I do not own this book so i can't double check it for you.
