I have no idea. Can you believe that we can start telling people we're due next month??? Ahhhh!!!

Darlin
03-31-2010, 09:39 PM
I don't have to tell them, they keep reminding me!! I said that I would not start getting nervous until the other girl at work had her baby. Well she had her baby today. It is so close now, so I guess the nervousness is in order.

haha :)

I am really tired. I didn't sleep good at all last night. I know it seems silly because I don't really "know" all of you, but I was worried about Judy all night and had nightmares about her. I sure hope everything is going ok with her and the babies.

leeann - I'm with you...I was the same way last night. I twisted and turned all night. I just have a bad feeling and I'm sure hope it's wrong. I hope she and babies are all okay.

If any of you get any updates on Judy - please post them.

Sooooo what's everyone up to today? I have my 6 month dental cleaning/checkup and then my 32 week appt at 5. I'm taking dd to the dentist with me. Here's hoping she sits nicely and doesn't turn into wild child!

Darlin
04-01-2010, 11:33 AM
Hopefully she is well behaved.

just waiting for the military to put me back on the insurance , My husband got pout back on active duty as of today and they are taking their sweet time as always. Hello what part of High Risk pregnancy did they not understand? Anyway tryin not to stress too much I know it will get done eventually.

She was awesome at my appointments!! Baby is doing well and everything's going ok!

Darlin- that stinks about the insurance. I hope you get it soon.

Leeann- I really need to go to the dentist. I won't even say how long it has been. I used to go every 6 months and then I didn't have insurance so I have to go but I might wait until after may:p
Does your doctors office stay open late? You always seem to have late appointments LOL.

As for me I am getting really bad leg cramps. It feels like the pains I got when I was little. My mom called them growing pains. Then I get charlie horses at night. My doctor said that it was a lack of calcium.

leeann38
04-01-2010, 09:34 PM
Katie - ya, they do! I think their last appointment is 5 or 5:15. Dh really likes to go, so he likes me to make them as late as possible. Our next appointment is Friday the 16th at 3:45, though. :)

Katie -- sorry about the leg pains. :( Hope they get better for you soon!

Leeann -- glad everything is looking good! Getting close now!

AFM, not much new here. Tired ALL the time. Doc said bloodwork indicated I'm "slightly anemic" -- not sure exactly what that means, but he didn't seem concerned, so I guess I'm not. Work is wearing me down, and just found out with the new short-term disability insurance company being used at work, I have to use up all my sick days before STD kicks in. I was NOT counting on that. :( Just trying to keep my head up at work ... only six more weeks now! And baby is still breech, so it's back to the chiropractor for me ... ugh. :(

Glad you are doing well LeeAnn.

Katie - Hope the legs get to feeling better!

Bird - Being Anemic can make you mroe tired. Try to eat more red meat. It is caused by low iron. I have fought it my whole life.

AFM - I am just trying to relax as much as I can, but the kids I nanny are on spring break so I am working full days, so just resting is hard when trying to keep up with 8 and 10 year old. yesterday we went to a indoor play land, it was fun, but I was really glad DH went with us so he coudl play laser tag, mini golf and roller skate with them while I watched. My legs are not returning to normal anymore in the morning, they are still going down, but not totally. My Dr. is concerned caus I am having contractions too. Still not seeing dr. till 12th, but have to go get a moniter to start using on Monday.

Hope everyone has a great Easter weekend!!

Hey girls! I just posted my birth story on here and wanted to pop in and say hi to you girls too :) We have two beautiful baby girls (no third in there!) and I've lost a little over 30 lbs in one week LOL. I feel deflated! I'm having a bit of a tough recovery, but that's only because I had a vaginal delivery (and needed stitches) and then the emergency c-section after (and have a longer-than-normal incision with staples to come out tomorrow) We're hoping that the babies will come home from the NICU at the end of next week. It's so hard not being with them all the time like normal newborns. We go to visit them at the hospital and I pump every 3 hours around the clock (my milk was delayed a lot due to the recovery- it's still just starting to come in and it's now 8 days after they were born)... I hope everyone is doing great over here & has their LOs soon!
PS-If I missed you on FB, PM me your name and I'll add you :)

LH - Congrats

I hope everyone had a good Easter weekend.

AFM - this is going to be a busy week. We have a baby shower Thursday at our last birthing class, I have a shower Friday at work and then I have a shower Saturday afternoon out in town. I am already exhausted and the fun has not even began yet. At least we will be done after this weekend and I will know what I have and what I still need so I can try to get a handle on some of my nesting cravings.

RedReba
04-05-2010, 02:08 PM
Darlin - good luck on the busy week. After Showers it is nice, you are lucky they are all close together. Mine are almost a month apart, so I am waiting for the 2nd so I can fill in gaps and spend the gift cards!!!

AFM - I am still retaining water pretty bad, even when I rest with my feet up almost all day, I still swell. When I start swelling my in ankles and knees they hurt and my wrists are starting to swell too. I have also had a lot of contractions, so my dr.'s nurse has me drinking lots of fluids and resting as much as possible. My dr. is out of town and his partners don't want me to come in since that requires getting up and being up for too long for them.

I was doing okay till Friday but having to work 9 hours with the kids Wed, Thurs, and Fri set me off. This week I will just have the normal 3 hours and can just sit and rest while helping with homework, so i won't have to not work.

I am hoping to be able to go through all the gifts and see what we still need and what sizes of items we have or not have. I think I can do most of it sitting, but I want to get the room cleaned up and stuff put away!

Glad everyone seems to be doing well. Congrats LH what a birth story!! I was on the edge of my seat lol!!

AFM- Had a ruff time easter, think I may have gotten to much sun, I was getting light headed and not feeling real well at all. I just drank a bunch of water and sat in the shade the rest of the night. I was at my inlaws and it was hotter inside than it was out!! Just a crazy day and man was I moody!! Poor DH was in all kinds of trouble lol!! He was being insensitive and boy did I let him have it! Also as before most holidays I am very busy working, (I am a hairstylist) and I noticed my feel and ankles starting to swell toward the end of the day!! So Im drinkin water like a fool and hopeing that will help!! Getting excited about my baby showers coming up and my lamaze classes, hopefully this week DH will be in a better mood for our class!! If he keeps it up I may just take my mom instead!

Cac0115
04-06-2010, 02:46 AM
Well, after being a bit mia, I'm back!

Kimbree-I hope your dh does get less moody with the classes, When I had already gone to 2 nst's without dh- I had my way of a little guilt trip on him, and since he's only missed one, but my mom went with instead, since then he had to go somewhere with our buildings owner(he takes care of the building now).

Leeann- yay for a well behaved toddler and good appts!

Darlin-I hope you can wait it out without going completely bananas! Time is flying by now(I realized I had to different months to look at to catch up!) and you'll be shopping in no time!

Bird- I hope your lo turns for you! My last bw said the same thing with the anemia, and my doc felt it was enough to suggest an iron supplement-nothing too much and only once a day- but we're also 3rd tri and that's enough to wear us out-forget the toddler factor!

If I forgot you- I'm sorry, I'm just behind and almost lost!

Sorry in advance for my book- but this is where I've been!

afm- I've had a slightly eventful week! Wednesday I started having pains in the middle of my lower stomach, I didn't think they were contractions, I just couldn't really stand up, but I had work that evening, so I had to suck it up, and then my feet decided to miss the last 2 stairs at the bottom of my staircase! Luckily I had a hold of the railing so I landed on my knees and not my belly! Either way, the pains didn't stop when I was at work and when I got out at midnight, dh and I made a trip to the hospital just to make sure everything was okay(everything was fine, I was just severely dehydrated!) Friday I had my appt at my reg dr's office, mine was on vacay so I seen a resident, everything looked good(we just had to up my asthma meds), but then at work I got one of my hot flashes, which came with a few dizzy spells, and I waas stuck at a register with a nice line of customers-I don't know if I had ever felt so close to fainting in my life! My baby shower was saturday, and since it was me and my mom throwing it, and I was cooking most of the food, another busy busy day! Sunday I was just plain worn out, but not feeling too well either, my mom noticed that I looked "zoned", like I just wasn't there, so yesterday(still today for me since my sleep is messed up!) she ended up going with me to my nst. I ended up needing my rescue inhaler 2ce that morning since I didnt take my reg. asthma med(it hadn't been 12 hrs yet so I didn't think it made that much a difference-boy was I wrong!) and couldn't keep my mouth closed for the nurse to take me temp! On the way I noticed I was starting to feel a little dizzy, and once I had to lean back, it seemed hell broke loose! I had another asthma attack, my bp dropped to 87/54 and I started to feel like I was about to fall out of the bed(and vomit on my way down!) On the plus side, the baby's looking great, he's VERY active, and head down! I ofcouse I won't have to worry about preeclampsia! I have the opposite problem! So today I'm planning on calling my doc(shes back form vacay) and requesting she take me off of work after this week(this one is easy and I'll mostly be sitting in a conference room, for a class that I'm running!) So yay for a non boring week for me! lol I go tomarrow for my next u/s at the mfm(yay!) and as of right now I don't see my reg ob until next friday.
epilogue(lol) I did get to go shopping though in between, and I got almost everything I'll need immediately!

I hope everyone else is doing great!

Candace - all I can say is yikes!! Glad you're ok!

Well, I'm 33 weeks today... only a max of 6 weeks and 2 days until we meet our newest little princess.... so excited!!

So how about one of the teacher's daughters had a baby yesterday and she was one of two girls in the nursery - guess what the other girl's name was? It was "La-ea" do you know how it's pronounced????

"La dash ee ah" No joke. Who does that to their kid? No one will ever get that right without knowing!! I'm all for unique names, but that one takes the cake.

Darlin

Cac - I hope they are able to take you out of work early. How scary for that to happen to you. Try to take it easy Mama.

LOL LeeAnn, how the heck do they get that from that spelling??? Ohhhhhh I just figured it out! That is just ridiculous! Poor baby, I bet she'll end up either spelling it different or going by something shorter.

Candace, I hope you get some rest so you don't run into anymore problems! I'm sure your dr will have no problem taking you off work.

Candace - hope you get some rest and can stay hydrated.

Chelsea - Welcome to the 3rd Tri!! It is fun to know the LO is near to coming, but you also start getting really uncomfortable.

AFM - I was able to go to class for a while today, but started getting contractions, so had to come home and relax. I really wish my Dr. was in town to just tell me to be on full bedrest, or something that will help.

Sorry Rant ahead!! I had a break down last night. I feel like I am not being a good wife and and complain about pregnancy too much. I always thought that poregnancy would be nice, easy and and a funfilled time and now it is hard and uncomfortable. I definately am excited for my LO, but don't know that I would ever want to go through pregnancy again. I had always thought I would adopt, having my own is speacial, but pregnancy has been miserable. I really can't wait to have my LO in my arms and be done with pregnancy.

Aww Reba! I'm sorry you're having so many aches and pains and problems with swelling :(. When is your dr supposed to be back? And you are a great wife, you're bringing your and DH's child into the world! Hopefully once you're able to relax more you will start to feel better. ((hugs))

Well, I'm officially in the 3rd tri. So crazy!! With everything that is going on with the move I'm sure time will go by even faster now!

Yay for being in the 3rd tri, chels!!! :)

Reba - it's ok! Lots of pg women feel like that! I sort of love being pregnant, but it's a little harder this time with a toddler. lol

Chels- congrats on the third tri.

thanks everyone, it was easier today since I'm running the show on the training that I'm doing this week. I also talked to my dr's nurse and was requested by the dr to get in-so the next available i can make is friday.

Leeann- that is cruel I think of the mom to do that to that girl! it took me a moment to get the pronounciation from the spelling also!

Chelsea- welcome to the 3rd tri! sorry about the quake over there, glad to see your doing alright!

Reba- I hope your doctor can do something to help you too! when does he get back? I'm starting to not like being pregnant this time around either- I like it at times, but not when pushes on my ribs/pubic bone, or I get one of those spells. don't feel so bad, it'll all be worth it once your lo makes his arrival!(ofcourse you knew that already!

afm- well, ive got 4 more appts in the next 3 days, and yet it doesnt seem motivating enough to get me into bed yet! lol but I'm sure friday when I go into work I'll be telling them-sorry, i'm out till sometime in june!-not sure how my department manager will feel about it, but oh well, at this point I no longer care!

leeann38
04-07-2010, 09:21 AM
I'm so bad. lol I'm blowing off work today. Just don't feel like going. My house is a wreck and I can't get anything done with dh or dd home, so after I dropped dd off at daycare, I though "hmmm... I'm just going home to clean." lol I just got everything loaded into the dishwasher, have a ton of laundry to do, dusting, vacuuming, etc. lol I'm just going to take it slow and work in between. If I don't get this house in order, I am going to go nuts. LOL!!

chelseaf
04-07-2010, 01:48 PM
Lol LeeAnn. My kitchen needs some attention, but I so don't feel like doing it! The dishes in the dishwasher have been clean since Saturday and still sitting there. Maybe I'll get in there today while DH has to move boxes so I don't feel bad that I can't help.

These braxton hicks contractions are driving me crazy! I had one this morning that was a little more intense than the others. It didn't hurt, but was uncomfortable. I'm not looking forward to when the real ones come lol.

I'm also mad at Graco! I finally get a stroller and carseat picked out and they start to discontinue them. ugh! I got the stroller and of course the fabric is messed up and there are no more available so I can't exchange. I'm ok with keeping it as long as they give me some sort of discount, but I've been waiting for over a week to find out of they'll discount it! I'm glad I checked on my carseat today and I saw it's selling out on a few sites so I went ahead and ordered it. Target says temporarily out of stock, but I don't trust it! lol.

Thanks for the support Ladies!! I am feeling better today, partly cause no pain or contractions today, but still hating being pregnant.

I tried to talk to my sister about it and she was not supportive like I thought she would be. She has had hard pregnancies, so I really hoped she would understand, but instead she just made me mad. She said after all I had gone through to get pregnant I should just be happy I was pregnant and not compalin at all. It made me realy upset and I cired even more, but DH was wonderful. Dh said that having a baby is what we really wanted and if pregnancy was hard it just adds to how wonderful having our son will be.

Between all your support and my Dh's love and support I fell much better about it all. I will do whatever it takes to get this baby here safe and healthy. That is what I am focusing on and whne in pain I think of holding him soon. My Dh put a frame with the 3-D u/s in it by the recliner so I can remember why I am stuck sitting there.

Sorry for the book!!! I just have to share with people that understand.

Cac- Hope you get to stay home till June!! It will really help you not be stressed!

LeeAnn - Way to take the day to clean. I am going nuts only able to do little things here and there. DH tries to hlep, but it is hard to instruct him to do things the way I want it done.

chels - Hope you get things worked out for your stroller and carseat. I have that Graco keeps changing their patterna dn don't keep items out very long. Hence why we went with Baby Trend!

Katie - Hope you got some sleep!!

Red- so glad you are feeling better. I don't blame you one bit for how you're feeling. But, if it makes you feel any better...once Owen was here, I forgot all about the pregnancy crap. I actually remember in the delivery room, my ob put Owen on my chest right after he was born and said, "Now, was all that bedrest worth it?" and all I could say was, "what bedrest?" It's amazing how quickly your mind forgets it....I'm remembering it all NOW...but had forgotten! lol :p

Hang in there!! Your little guy will be here soon!

Tink - You give me hope!! I know I will love my baby and be so happy, but right now the everyday is hard. You have it harder, I at least get to get up and go sit in a recliner at work, where you are at home all day.

I had my C-Section prep class tonight. It was great cause it answered all my and DH's questions. I am still a little scared, but not worried cause at least now I know what to expect!! I just can't believe that I only have 6 weeks!!

Cac0115
04-08-2010, 01:20 AM
Reba- ofcouse we understand here, all of us wanted to pregnant b/c we wanted the "prize" at the end, a beautiful baby, not all this "fun" of not being able to get up and do things that need to be done-or even roll over in bed! If your sister didn't have a hard time conceiving then she may not ever get what you mean.

Tink-you're right though, it IS all worth it in the end!

Leeann- sounds a bit relieving to be able to get all that done! I hope you didn't over do it for yourself though!

Chelsea- I get what you mean about these contractions! I have been feeling them lately myself, and one of them woke me up this morning!

afm- I had my last level II u/s today at the mfm, the dr said with the position he's in I shouldnt have to worry about him turning breech on me! He also said that he looks to be about 5lbs 2oz now so he may be smaller than ds was when he makes his arrival! woohoo! he's head down and not humungous(sp?)! lol :p

RedReba

Candace, great news!

I can't believe how close you all are!!

AFM, I think I have finally figured out this little girl's sleeping pattern. She seems to be pretty quiet during the day, but then goes crazy in the evenings and into the night. In the mornings she's usually moving around too, but a little more calm movements. Yesterday evening DH actually got to feel some kicks! I was so surprised because she usually stops right as his hand touches my belly, but she kept on going. He thought it was pretty cool and was surprised on how strong it was. Too bad he didn't feel the really strong ones, then he would have been really surprised!

I also finally got that nesting bug. Too bad it was last night when I was in bed trying to fall asleep! Everything that we still needed to do came rushing into my head and it was driving me crazy. I got out of bed and went into the closet to pick out all the clothes I'm taking to my mom's lol. We're driving out there later today and I want to bring some stuff so we don't have too much to move in a few weeks. All week I've been forgetting we're going and not getting stuff together. My husband's procrastination must have been rubbing off on me!

Don't worry about me overdoing it girls, lol I pretty much got nothing done yesterday. I HONESTLY don't remember being this exhausted at this point in my pregnancy with Makenna. I can't remember when I was done with school, though. And of course, I didn't have a toddler then to take care of and clean up after when I'm not working. lol I'm starting to think I should start my maternity leave at the end of 37 weeks instead of the end of 38 weeks LOL!!

Leeann~I skipped work today because I was feeling like crap this morning. I spent most of my day laying in bed napping. I'm ready to be done. I have 3.5 days left of work and I'm ready to be done NOW!!!

I can't believe we are this close leeann.....and I don't have nearly everything ready either. I am starting to get to the miserable stage. I can feel him when I walk now and he is heavy...ALREADY lol

Lizzy- You only have a few days left!!! So excited

So does anyone wake up on their back and be in a little pain. I guess that is my bodies way of telling me to turn over.

I am so unbelievable happy that today is Friday! (I know you are too knut:p)
But it will be a long day. Two girls at work are on vacation and then one got pnemonia this week so it is only 2 tellers on a friday EEK...and my "boss" if you want to call him that is driving me nuts. All he does is talk about himself and doesn't do Crap!!! I mean nothing. I really want to leave this company but really if he left I would be fine

Gotta get ready for the day. Bye girls!

I'm so jealous you all are closer than me! lol

I had my appointment with the new dr in Vegas today. I actually like her way better than my old! My old dr never measured me, but she did today and I'm measuring at 28 weeks. I was surprised since I feel so huge and already had some pudge on top of the baby lol. My bp was ok too, a little on the high side, but not bad and she wasn't worried. Woohoo! I hope everyone has a good weekend!

Chels - I felt that way when I first came over here but then you end up catching up with everyone :)

Wow time is flying by. I haven't been on here forever. I haven't even posted to the third trimester board yet at all. Hello everyone!! I hope all is well! I will try to be better and get on here more. I failed my one hour glucola test :( But then did my 3hr today and passed :) I was so happy! I have been really sick the past couple of weeks, caught something upper respiratory. It really knocked me off my feet, it is so much harder to deal with sickness when you are pregnant, wow! Seems at this point we just sit around and wait for our buns to get done baking:D I really cannot wait to meet this little guy!

Chels--the same thing happens when my dh decides to feel the baby move. It doesn't help that he is sooo impatient. He will take his hand off and the next second the baby will kick. My ds gets to feel movement alot though, he is more patient, which is funny.

Reba--I have been the same way, just hoping the pregnancy goes by fast sometimes because it can be so uncomfortable. But I think it is normal to have those feelings sometimes. I get really emotional when I am pregnant too, so I will be depressed one day and feel like a horrible person because I tried so hard for this and feel so guilty for feeling depressed when I should be happy. But then the next day I feel really happy about it all. I just tell myself that some of that is regular hormonal pregnancy stuff. And it is ok to feel whatever I feel.

glad all you girls are doing good! Chels glad you like your new doc and shan my due date buddy ive been wondering where you were!! lol

afm-i have been struggling with bouts of depression and being tired all the time!! I have talked to my dr and he seems to think its just a pregnancy symptom but im not so sure. Ive never been a depressed person so I really dont know how to deal with it!! Just feel so crappy all the time! I just dont know what to do with myself!

Lizzy -- wow, you are so close now!

Leeann -- rest up, lady; hope the cramps have stopped and that you're feeling better!

Katiejill -- how was your Friday? I wake up on my back sometimes, too, and it's getting pretty uncomfortable ...

Wow, I've been horrible about posting. Everything is just rocking along here -- baby is still breech (we think), though not engaged. My OB isn't worried, but I sure am getting nervous! I should know for sure on Wednesday what the plan is, as he's supposed to do a cervical check then. I'm 35 weeks now -- that is just crazy! (I did finally get my hospital bag packed, though -- now I just need to pack a little bag for DS and get the camera bag ready!) Can't believe how soon I might be meeting this little one -- but hoping s/he stays put for another few weeks as I still have a lot of catching up to do at work!

birdling - if s/he stays breech, will you have a c-section? Kelsey was breech at 28 weeks, but she could easily turn by the time I deliver, although it will be a c-section anyway. I really like have a true, finite end date. LOL With Makenna, I used my due date, but knew I'd most likely go late. Those 11 days past my due date were torture. LOL!!

We went to outlets yesterday and I kept getting those crampy feelings when I walked too much. I really don't know if they were contractions or not, because I never had one that I know of. lol

04-11-2010, 11:22 AM
Leeann -- if s/he is still breech at 37 weeks, my OB will do an external version to turn the baby. Hopefully that will take care of things. I'm really hoping to avoid a c-section this time around if I can ... but if we can't get him/her turned and I'm well into labor, then yeah, I'll probably have a c-section. I envy you your finite date ... mostly I just want to know how much longer I have at work to try to catch up on all the stuff I'm behind on before I leave it for someone else, lol!

Tell me about it! I just made my list of IEPs and transition to kindergarten crap that I need to get done for my pre-k kids before I'm done on May 14.

Leeann~Thats been my world for the last month. I just finished conferences, got all my transition/annual IEPs done (except for one and only because we spent an hour and half going through other stuff at that meeting and she couldn't make this past weeks meeting so my consultant is handling it for me when I'm gone). Now I'm just trying to get my transportation requests in place and waiting on parents that aren't responding to me! Ugh! I guess I'll just send an email to my director and explain that I've tried multiple times and I'm done. :P

birdling
04-11-2010, 05:08 PM
That's me, too ... we still have a bunch of annual IEP meetings left, plus I have several evals due (6 ongoing, plus at least 2 that have just been requested), not to mention my direct services ... yikes!! I know I won't get everything done but I just want to get as much done as I can!

lol I hear ya! At least with us, if we try to contact the parents several times then send letters home via certified mail, we can make the kids inactive after so long. Sometimes parents just use pre-k as a babysitter and then stop taking their kids when something else comes up. Soooo annoying after you spend all that time enrolling the kids and treating them!

Cac0115

That does sound annoying!

bird-I havn't been the greatest with posting either!

welcome over here shan!

Great news here- I'm done with work! Yesterday was my last day, and ofcourse it had to feel like it took FOREVER! I've spent the last week training new cashiers, and the last day we were "live", and I was contracting almost my whole shift about every 20-30 mins. I'm still getting some today, although not nearly as many was I was yesterday. I also was able to exchange my swing(when I went to put it together last time it looked as thought someone took out what they needed and then took it back) and I got it put together, the only thing really left now is washing the baby's clothes and packing a hospital bag!
For all those dizzy spells and low bp, my dr thinks it may be my anemia getting worse, so she upped my iron, and we'll see how that works.

Question for you ladies though...How many bloody noses in a day do you think could be normal? In the past 24 hrs I've had 1 that was really small, just wiped my nose a few times and it stopped, and 2 where I had to actually sit there for about 15 min pinching my nose for it to stop(I also had a small one yesterday morning). I'm just wondering b/c it seems like they just hit me, and I think I'm just more annoyed by them that anything!

Cac - I can't help ya there I have not had that expirience.

Leann and Kimbree - Hope you are feeling better.

Birdling - Hope that little one turns in time.

AFM - Had two showers in the last three days. I have a huge weight lifted off of my shoulders, we only need a couple of the big stuff left and I got gifts cards for them. I just got them ordered. My mom came in from out of town
(a 6 hour drive) so she was here to help me wash everything and get it put away. I was glad she was here to help, I couldn't imagine not having help, I had help and I am still exhausted. I was glad she came, we don't get to see each other very often so it was exhausting and nice.

Candace, I know that some people do get more nosebleeds while being pregnant so it could be because of that. I would just keep an eye on it and if they don't let up give your dr a call.

Darlin, Glad your showers went well! I can't wait for mine!

birdling, I hope that LO flips for you!

Phew, I'm back from my trip to Vegas to move some things. It really made me feel pregnant! lol. Just bending over to put the sheets on the crib mattress while in the crib made my back hurt! We were go go go and still didn't get everything done as planned. Now I'm sitting in the recliner with my feet raised because my feet are swollen form the 7 hour drive back. Ugh I hate traffic!

The trip there made me really wish I didn't have to move back. It will be nice to be around my family and have all the help, but I'm feeling kind of sad that I won't have alone time with my little family. All in due time I suppose.

Glad things seem to be progressiong well for everyone. Congrats for getttng ready - I finally ordered the bassinet I wanted, got it for 100 instead of 175 and free shipping!! I have a shower thie saturday and then we will inventory and go get what else we need.

Congrats to those getting readyto wrap up working. I will probably work will the day before the c-section, but I do have an easy job.

About the nose bleeds - I have had a few, but partly cause of the sniffles and having to blow my nose so often. Also, my allergies have kicked in.

I have a dr. apt. tomorrow and hoping to stay on restricted movement, but with all the contractions I have had that many not happen. I also hope to schedule my C-Section!!!

Candace- I haven't had a bloody nose but since you posted this I woke up with one....AAAHH!! I think it is just due to pregnancy. Very common. I was put on iron also. I take the slow FE b/c my system is already screwy as far as digestion. It hasn't seemed to make it worse.

Red- glad you got your bassinet! I hope the doctor tells you what you want to hear too!

I have a doc appointment this morning and then off to work. I am hoping she schedules my section but I really don't think she will. She told me last time that I should plan on having it on the 24th or 25th of may.

It is quiet on the boards today.

I had a great Dr. apt!! I am still measuring large, but only gianed 2 lbs in the last 2 weeks, my dr is not worried, but glad the weight gain is not to crazy. Only 29 lbs gained from the beginning. Everything is looking good for the baby and all my contractions are not doing much. Still have 2.5 for my cervix and that is steady from last time. I got more up time!! I now can be up and about for 5 hours each day, but if having contractions have to take it easy.

So this baby will be here on the 24th of May!! 6 am C-section, now just have to keep him in this then so I don't end up with an emergancy c-section due to going into labor.

Hope everyone is doing well and keeping busy getting ready for their LO!!

Reba, glad the appointment went well and you have your c-section scheduled!! I wish I had a date set lol. I ordered my carseat and I checked the status and it told me anytime between June 17th and July 2nd. Yeah that's a little too close for comfort! Found it elsewhere and it's only 2-4 weeks until delivery, made me feel much better! haha

Today she has been doing something real down low and I do not like it! I can feel her rubbing on my pubic bone. Maybe it's payback from my mom. She was telling me this weekend that I was head down and rubbing my head on her pelvis the hole time lol.

Chelsea-I hope she stops doing whatever it is she's doing!

Reba- yay for 5/24! Glad to hear you got some more up time!

Katie- Isn't it funny how that works sometimes? It's like "nope not me over here" then you get it! I'm just on a regular iron pill- nothing special.

Darlin- that's great you got most of what you needed, and gift cards to cover most of the rest! I really did end up buying most of what I have here!

I think I got everyone, sorry if I missed you!

I had another fun fun nst today- he's doing just fine- we even got to see a couple good shots of his face and feet!(ofcourse it's the l&d u/s so no pix:() but I swear I'm so done! lol dh is realizing he's almost here, i think he's excited and nervous at the same time- he told me(after I told him) he's anxious for him to be here already and he feels bad that it's gotten a little physically rough for me these past couple weeks. I also got all the baby laundry done and most of my hospital bag packed- so i won't have a rushing around at 330 am to get it all together again!

Red- you are doing great with the weight gain. I have already gained 38 pounds! Yikes. I am so not happy with that.

Cac- I hear you on being done. I am physically drained...but I don't have everything ready yet but am working on it.

Chelsea- you should be fine on the carseat front. If not DH will have to go buy one while you are in the hospital:p Then return it;)

I had my appointment today as well. Everything is going good. She said he is measuring a little big. I only have 4 appointments left. That seems crazy to me. My c-section was scheduled today as well. LeeAnn and Katie - It will be busy with the c-sections, but there are a few other that are due then too!!

Cac - I just thought I should maybe think about a hospital bag, but so unsure about what to pack. Those of you who have been through this before what were some items you really suggest taking with you?

Darlin - Hope you apt goes well.

I totally get the being worn out, but also I have been getting bursts of energy that I try to take advantage of them to get stuff done around the house or school stuff. I have a shower on Saturday and then I have to figure out what we still need, but I have a feeling we will need a lot, cause people don;t seem to pay attention to registries and just buy clothes.

leeann38
04-13-2010, 06:29 PM
Red - all I am taking this time is comfy clothes, socks/slippers, my own soap/shampoo because I didn't like the kind I got at the hospital last time, and some make-up. For the baby - I'll just bring a picture outfit because they provide everything else and she can dirty their white long-sleeved onesies rather than her own clothes LOL Of course, I'll bring my camera and my "brestfriend" pillow. I only nursed dd when she was born, so if by some chance I need a pump, they can provide one for me. I live about 7 minutes from the hospital and dh will be coming and going, so I don't have to bring my life with me. lol All I did when dd was born was nurse, sleep, hang out with dh and dd and entertain visitors. When there were no visitors, I either tried to sleep or watched tv (or played with dd of course). Definitely don't over pack! Ya know, I might just bring some of my own pillows, too, because theirs usually suck.

I brought cheap flip flops for the shower...I get grossed out really easily :p

All that's in my bag (yes, it's been packed and in the car since I was 20w...never know when an overnight L&D trip is in my future!) Is a coming home outfit and toiletries. I wore a hospital gown the whole time I was there. All we'll need to add to the bag eventually is the camera. DH will bring the baby's going home outfit. We bought a girls outfit and a boys outfit...so after the baby is here he'll wash one up and bring it with the carseat. :)

Darlin, I hope your appointment goes well today!

I also really have no clue on what to bring. I'm going to have to right down some of your suggestions! My mom's house is only about a mile from the hospital and she works at a middle school right behind it so I can always have people bring me things I suppose.

I almost forgot we have our 3/4D ultrasound today! I scheduled it a few weeks ago and always kept thinking it was so far out so I tried not to get too excited. I guess it worked because now I'm excited lol. At first I wasn't going to do it again and just see her when she was born, but since DH won't be there I thought it would be a nice thing to do before he leaves.

Hi everyone - so happy to be in the 3rd tri, and am so excited for you that so many of you are so close to your due dates!

Chelsea - with DS my water broke at 35 weeks and I had not even thought about packing my hospital bag, so it was a hot mess when we got into our room and I finally started looking at what I'd thrown in there.

In retrospect, the only things I needed were my cell phone/charger, a camera/video camera (we use the Flip), toiletries, a robe to wear over the hospital gown to cover the gap in back ;-), flip flops/crocs for trips to the bathroom, and a going home outfit. I also wished that I had packed lip balm - for some reason my lips were really dry and chapped - and some snacks for my DH, b/c the only thing I remember him complaining about during 24 hours of labor was that the cafeteria was closed and he was starving. :-) I actually had already started nagging my DH about packing HIS things for the hospital bag (toothbrush, razor, change of clothes) but of course he completely ignored me - so we would have both ended up wearing home the clothes we'd worn to the hospital if he hadn't gone home to get a change for both of us.

And, when you're packing your toiletries, it's worth it to buy travel sizes and go ahead and pack them rather than banking on the fact that you'll remember your toothbrush at the last minute. In our sprint to pack and make arrangements for the dog, I totally forgot my deodorant and tried to use baby powder instead to freshen up, and ended up giving myself a yeast infection on my chest because I got so hot and sticky during labor. So, my first few days of breastfeeding were totally marred by that aggravation!

Thanks everyone! Yes tomorrow at 7:00 AM is the big moment! :) I'm just doing last minute packing for us and getting our house ready. I finished up work early and was in a great mood, till I accidently hit a parked car trying to get on to the interstate on the way to get DD. Got super emotional and now I feel like crap! We had planned on all going out to eat tonight at Hu Hot and then taking DD over to my parent's house to say goodnight and bye but now I don't even want to eat. I feel sick to my stomach. Ugh, i'm just so mad at myself for being so stupid. Luckily there was no damange just stupidity.

I didn't realize Lizzy's going tomarrow either! Good luck tomarrow!! Can't wait to see pics!!

As for the hospital bag- I've got an outfit for me and baby to come home in(grannie panties to come home in so I don't ruin good ones!) The cord blood bank collection kit(we're donating) 2 extra receiving blankets and another blanket just in case it gets cold again(weather in chicago is unpredictable), and extra change of clothes just in case I get tired of the hospital gown, a brush(we have an extra in house) a deordorant and my camera(if I want it before then I'll just pull it out and then put it back- but we have 2 camera's in the house).
We will have try to remember my phone charger and wallet. I also have paperwork for my job and wic. As far as a toothbrush goes, my hospital has a carepackage bin that comes in every room that has one in there with toothpaste, so I'm not worried about that!

Lizzy-Good luck tomorrow!

I know I have been MIA lately so I won't even try to go back and read through everything but it looks like everyone has been talking about packing their bag for the hospital. With Leah I packed mine (and repacked about 30 times) at 29wks but that was after a three day stay in L&D at 28 wks, which gave me a better idea of what I really wanted to bring.

DH-toothbrush, toothpaste, contacts stuff, gum (he chews so can't while in hospital) phone charger. With Leah DH went home every night to shower and then came back and will do the same this time. He is going home to put Leah to bed every night.

Me-tioletries, make-up, eye-cover (one of those sleeping masks-helps with long labor and people checking on you in the middle of the night) cell phone, charger, change of clothes, slipper socks. I didn't bring a rob b/c I just used another gown as a rob.

Baby-change of clothes, receiving blanket, nutch, special toy, baby book (foot and hand prints) with extra piece of paper so the book can be closed before the ink dries.

That is all I can think of right now but I have a list started. I was thinking of waiting until 36wks to pack it this time but I might start packing some stuff at 34 wks which is when I can deliver at our local hospital.

I can't believe how close everyone is getting!

Good luck tomorrow, Lizzy!

So I'm just hopping on here really quickly because I could use the support. :( Went for my 36 week check up today and baby is BREECH. My OB did a cervical check and thought it was head down but decided to use u/s just in case to confirm ... and it's definitely breech. :( HOW can this be happening AGAIN?? WHY does my body never work right??

I'm 2 cm dilated and 70% effaced, and now I'm paranoid baby will never turn. To top it all off, I got home after the cervical check and was contracting within the hour, I'm pretty sure from the check. I had pretty big contractions about 4-5 minutes apart (they were strong but never got any stronger or closer together) that lasted over an hour. So I've spent most of the evening afraid I'm going to the hospital (though they've stopped now, thank goodness). Ugh.

Sorry to be Debbie Downer ... just needed someplace to vent!

Birdling - I am so sorry. that has to be horrible for the baby to be breech and contractiong. Did your dr. think it could be turned? I have heard it is painful, but hopefully it works and is worth it. Peaying things will get better for you! Hugs:)

Good Luck Lizzy!!! Can't wait to see the pictures!!!

Thanks for all the suggestions for the hospital bag. I will probably pack the beginning of May just incase this little boy tries to come early.

I'm officially joining this thread tomorrow when I'll be 27 weeks but I wanted to share with you what happened at my appointment today since I'm freaking out internally right now.

I measured big! Last week when I was 26 weeks, I was measuring 30. Tomorrow I'll be 27 weeks and I'm measuring 32 weeks!!!! I did my 1 hour glucose today and she said she would let me know the results by Monday morning. She was able to tell me how he's laying and he's laying right across my belly side to side and then his feet are up by towards my chest. I'm worried that this is a problem. She scheduled me for an u/s for next Friday to check the baby's weight to see if he's big. HELP! I'm freaking out!!!

Lizzy should have a new LO now!!

birdling, I hope they can get that baby turned for you! If not it will all work out in the end and you'll have a beautiful little baby. Right now my LO is breech and I'm hoping she turns not only so I can have her vaginally, but these bladder kicks are getting ridiculous! lol

Jess, I had to lol at your title. Welcome to the 3rd tri! I wonder if how he is lying across you is making you seem bigger? I don't think the way he's positioned right now should really be a problem for delivery. When I had my u/s last night she said that she can tell she still has a lot of room to move around and could flip a few times before. I'm just scared she likes to cozy up to that placenta too much to flip though! lol.
Try not to worry too much. I think some people just measure big sometimes. Were you or DH big babies? One plus is you get to see your LO an extra time!

I posted about my u/s on the pic thread, but I'll post it here too. It was so cool to see her! Neither of us could see who she looks like. She appears to have some nice plump lips and who knows where she got those! lol. She's also breech right now, which I would have guessed based on the kicks, and has her head snuggled to the placenta. She was moving around a little bit, but was probably tired from all the movin and shakin she was doing all night!

And I'm sorry but I have a bit of a rant that I need to rant about! So as most of you know we're getting ready to move things into storage and move me with my mom before DH deploys. Well, my MIL called yesterday evening and asked if we minded if they came out to "help" and see him. Of course we're not going to say, "yes we mind." I totally appreciate the want to help, but they will really be in the way and I don't want them going through my things. It's like I'll have to get ready to move and be ready to entertain. It's already stressing me out! I understand her wanting to see him before he leaves too, but you're really going to wait until the last minute to decide? They're planning on coming in two weeks! They're going to drive down 9 hours on Thursday, be here Friday (when the movers come) and then leave Saturday morning when we do. I'm going to see if DH will call her and see if she just wants to come visit him when he's back before he deploys. He's taking the first installment of leave so he'll have about 10 days of having to live on the ship until they leave. I know he'd enjoy being able to go do stuff with them and not have to be stuck there. Plus they can have more time to hang out. And I do have to admit there's a plus side that I won't have to be there lol.

Sorry for such a long post! I needed to vent and I feel bad doing it to DH because it's his family.

If he's big, he's big. There's not much you can do! :) Worse comes to worse and you have to have a c-section, I can tell you from experience that they aren't bad when you know you are having one going in. If she thinks he'll be too big to deliver vaginally, you might want to listen to her because I think major tears would be way worse than a c/s. On the other hand, maybe you just gained your extra pounds in your mid-section and the baby is just fine. You never know, really! And you can't change it, either! I personally don't feel like any less of a woman because I've never had a vaginal delivery lol C-sections are just as hard, I think! lol I have a really good doc/hospital, so I didn't have to wait long to see my baby and everyone was super nice.

leann and chelsea - Thanks for calming me down. I do feel better now. My weight gain has been good so she doesn't see a problem with that. I knew the uterus was going up higher and higher because sometimes I have problems breathing now, almost feel like I can't get a big deep breath.

Chelsea - I would think that if he's laying up and down I would measure bigger because they measure from up to down, but since he's laying side to side, it doesn't make sense. She said it could also be fluid retention that is making me seem bigger than I am. So far, I have very little swelling so I don't know. I just want to fast forward to Friday to see what's going on inside on the u/s.

Leann - I don't care if I have a vagional or c-section...I just want to know so I can prepare myself either way. Actually, when I was just starting my 2nd trimester, I kept having dreams/intuitions about having a c-section, so honestly, it probably won't suprise me if I would have to have one. I've only ever had major surgery when I was 6 years old but I don't remember that at all so the whole cutting me open thing is scarey to me...but your right - having a big baby and tearing "down under" is scarey too! I'll take whatever comes, I just want him to be healthy, that's all.

Thanks again ladies!

Jessica- that's good that you don't care either way. I was just like that, and I think that's why my birth didn't traumatize me like it does for some.

And yep, Lizzy had her! She posted a pic on facebook if any of you are her friends. Well, I think her dh posted it. I'm pretty sure the baby was 7lb 6oz and 19in. Can't remember for sure, though!!

Jessica, I'm the same way as you about vaginal birth and c-section. I'm happy with whatever gets her here! Funny thing is my mom said that her biggest baby (10lbs!) was her easiest to push out. And he's still big being 6'7" so if your LO is measuring big he could just naturally be a big boy. Try not to worry :)

And my in-law crisis has been averted! I told DH about my idea and he likes it better because it will give him something to do while he's living on the ship. He talked to my MIL and she agreed so they're going to come down during a weekend and visit him. Phew!

Well I meant to call the chiro today because my hip is killing me, but I fell asleep and had to pick up dd when I got up. LOL Oh well!

Tomorrow is my 34 week appt. It's at 3:45, so a little earlier than my usually 5pm appts. lol DD actually has her 2 1/2 year well child visit tomorrow, too, and it's at 3:30. So dh is picking her up from school and taking her to the doctors and I am going to my appt alone. They are usually pretty uneventful anyway... I get weighed, pee in a cup, get my bp taken, they ask me if I've had an contractions/cramps/swelling/discharge, doc comes in and measures me, checks h/b and asks if I have any questions. That's pretty much how they all go. LOL!! When Makenna goes, my dr lets her use the doppler to find the h/b. It's really cute. I'll let ya know if anything eventful happens, but I doubt it. Although I'm pretty sure I gained like 6 or 8 pounds in the 2 weeks. LOL oh well... :)

Leeann- then you're gaining for me! And that sounds like my appts too-except i had to strip last week for the groub b strep test.

Chelsea- thank goodness! unwanted encounters with the in-laws can be stressfull!

bird-maybe your doc can turn this one for you? I hope they can do something for it to work out like you want it- and i must say i envy your dialating!

I had my appt today- went like Leeann described! lol EXCEPT I was bumped super hard by ds tues in the stomach, and i noticed all day wednesday this lo wasnt moving as much, so I ended up on l&d wednesday nite- had a few good contractions while i was there too, but after a while he finally woke up, and all was well, so they sent me home. When i was weighed- I lost a pound! so i was the same as I as 2 wks ago-not complaining here! I'm still having contractions, but ofcourse nothing regular- just more uncomfortable.

Hi ladies...just wanted to pop in and say I'm officially joining this thread today since I'm 27 weeks.

As you know, I'm already measuring 32 weeks and I noticed that my breathing is getting harder - probably cause his kicking me so high...but is that normal? I'm going to tell my midwife about it next week but wanted reassurance from you all.

Yep. Say goodbye to deep breathing for awhile. lol!

Jessica, I've been getting short of breath too. I notice it a lot after I eat, probably because things are getting even more squished, or if I'm doing a bunch of stuff. Last weekend it was pretty bad, but I think that was because we were on the go so much. Now that I'm home doing my normal lazy stuff I don't notice it as much lol.

LeeAnn, my appointments are just like that too. Very uneventful!

Candace, glad to know the LO is doing ok. You are so close now!!

So this baby has either turned again or is just curled up because I'm no longer get the horrible bladder/cervix kicks. She sure is making my tummy dance around right now though! I keep telling DH I just want her to turn so she stops kicking so low, who cares about the c-section! lol.

Hope everyone is still doing well.

Welcome Jessica.

Things still the same here, just waiting to see Little Miss Abree next week via u/s. Last u/s was at 28 weeks, can't wait to see how much she has grown. Feeling it and seeing it are two different things.

Jessica - I had my 28wk appt yesterday morning and my doc said I was measuring big too, although she didn't say how big. She just said, "well, you were a bigger mom to begin with, so that might explain it." NICE!! This was right after I'd asked the nurse how much weight I'd gained since my first visit, and she said it was 50 pounds - but when I said that was impossible, she said "oh, yeah, I see they entered the wrong number for your last visit" and then said it was only 6 pounds total.

In retrospect, the whole appt was sort of a disaster - they asked me for my husband's blood type because they wanted to give me the RhoGAM shot, and when I asked them why it wasn't in my chart from my last pregnancy, she said, "I don't know - don't you remember if we gave you the shot??" Hmmm... we did IVF for that baby, so does she have any idea how many shots I'd had by the time I got that far in my pregnancy??? So, I called DH and he found his dog tags from the navy that have his blood type on them, and I don't need the shot - but I'm a little annoyed at my OB for being sloppy w/their record-keeping.

I guess my question is, at what point do all these little things add up to mean that it's time to find a new practice?

Will do personals later - such good news about Lizzy!!

I have been measuring a week ahead since about 20 weeks. The drs don't seem concerned about it. I have also not been able to expand my lungs as much this week. If I eat anything at all, it gets very tight in there. I am really short though, especially in my waist.

Congrats Lizzy! What a beautiful family!

Well I'm an idiot because I didn't even hear about it! LOL!!

I had to go to L&D after my appt today because I told her the baby hasn't been moving as much the last few days. The NST went good. Just have to lay on my sides only or my BP jumps to 150s/90s. :(

Lizzy Congrats!!! Beautiful family!

Measuring big - I have been 1-2 weeks ahead the whole time and baby is measuring 2-3 weeks big. they are not worried since I keep passing my 3hr glocuse tests. Because of my PCOD and dh's type I diabetes they are readlly worried baby could develope type I or I have GD. I have a 3hr every month and never had a problem passing. I just have a big DH and I am small!!

Sailor - I would be worried about the lack or organization in records. that can be a huge problem. I would start looking for a new OB-GYN office after baby is born, just for my own peice of mind. I would be too scared to change so close to baby coming.

Leeann - Sorry you are having some problems, hope it gets better you only have a month!

Sorry can't remember the rest. Hope everyone is doing well. I have a shower tomorrow so after I can decide what we still need and then finish the shopping and and wait.

Leeann- Sorry about your bp, glad to hear the baby's good!

Welcome Jessica!

Re measuring big: I was measuring big at every appt until about a month ago, then we kinda pulled up on my skin to "hold up" my lower stomach fat and then I measure right on target- but on thursday I measured a 1/2 wk big again- but i was also sitting up more and not holding anything up. So if you had some to spare to begin with, then it's possible that's all it is.

Reba- I hope your shower goes/is going well today!

Thanks everyone.

On measuring big~I did with first DD and it ended with nothing. I gave birth at 39.5 weeks to a 6 lb 14 oz baby. My doctor thought she was going to be big because I was measuring big but with an U/S at 36 weeks, she was only 5 lbs. This time around I think I was maybe measuring a week a head at the most but doctor didn't say anything about it.

Measuring big - Thanks for all the feedback. My midwives said that they have a lot of patients that measure 1-2 weeks big and that's fine, they don't see it as a problem. But, she said that when I measure 3+ weeks big, they need to see what's going on. Especially since I was measuring 3 weeks big and the week later, it was 5 weeks big. I know there can be a lot of different reasons why so I'm really anxious to have the u/s on Friday.

I didn't get my results back from my 1GTT so I'm going to call first thing Monday morning to see if I passed. If I didn't I'm going to be so upset because they couldn't get any of my veins to cooperate last week for the test and so she had to stick my hand...needless to say, the 3GTT will not be fun if I have to do it.

Jessica~I didn't mention it earlier but with DD#1 I was 36 weeks and I was measuring at 40 weeks. I had GD. My doc planned on me having her soon after my 36 week appt but after the U/S it showed that she wasn't big enough. A few weeks later I measured right on target. I wonder if baby placement has something to do with measuring big.

jessicaileen
04-18-2010, 04:55 PM
Lizzy - I'm wondering the same thing because he is laying right across my belly right now. I guess I will find out on Friday! I just wonder if I keep measuring this big, I will be measuring 40 weeks in not time...then where do I go from there? LOL

I called the OB to get my 1hr GTT results back as my midwife told me to call first thing this morning since I'm measuring so big already and was told by the receptionist that the results are on the fax and they have to be reviewed prior to telling me the results...AGH! She told me to call back this afternoon. So frustrating! I'm on pins and needles!

Jessica, Hopefully the dr will have signed off on the labs by this afternoon! We have a dr at my work that takes forever (sometimes over 2 weeks!) to sign off on labs, I always feel bad for her patients. She's got some really bad time management issues lol. The funny part is she'll tell the patients when their labs should be back and they call, but we can't tell them anything until the dr has done them!

Darlin - I like that idea! But I don't want a Roethlisberger either! haha!

chelsea - The midwife said it could be fluid.

lighthouse - She said it could be anything at this point, that's why I'm having an u/s Friday to get everything checked out. Someone even asked me if I'm sure there's not two in there - haha! We are positive it's only one. I've had how many u/s now and they've never seen a second. Right? haha!

The baby is laying breach across my belly right now and his legs are curled up by my chest so it could be his position. They wil do his measurements and weight check on Friday so I'm really anxious to see him again and hope all is well.

Am interested to hear how your u/s goes this Friday... my OB said last week that if I'm still measuring big at my next appointment they'll do a fetal growth scan, which I guess is another name for ultrasound. I kind of hope that they'll do it b/c I would love to see him again.

Well I had my growth sono today and everything looked good! My cervix is measuring over 4 cm and he is measuring at 2lbs, 9oz which they said is right where he should be. I also had my first NST today and he passed it too. Now I start going once a week for a NST. I am sure that time is going to start flying by now since I have to go every week. Also my placenta is no longer covering my cervix, which is great news! I also got to set my date for the c section. They are supposed to call me back tomorrow after they get it set with L & D so as long as it is open it will be on July 2 at 8 am when I am at 39 weeks. The doc said if we wanted to do it at 38 weeks I would have to do an amnio first, so we opted to just wait another week. I know when we get there though I will probably regret that decision. LOL. Anyway a day of good news all around.

Tink - Yeah for 3rd Tri!!!!! So glad you have made it this far.

Jessica - Congrats on passing the 1hr GTT!! that is great!! I am always measureing big and they can't figure out why other then a big baby cause of genes!!!

Shell - Glad all is going well for you!

AFm - I am doing so much better. I also have no restrictions for now cuase the anti-botic shots seemed to do their job and have not swelled much since. Also only 2 contractions in last 5 days even with lots of activity. I feel so much better and am able to get so much done. Also tryingto not go over board.

Had a great shower on Saturday!! My sister Hosted it and surpirsed me with my mom coming in from Colorado!!! It was great to spend time with her. I have 5 sisters and she has only seen 3 of us pregnant, so I am glad she came. I finally feel ready for this little bug to come, just hoping he will wait till after school is over at least, but even better to wait for scheduled date!!

Jessica- yay for passing!!! I have my gtt tomorrow.

shell- glad things are looking good

Red- SO glad you are feeling better!!! It must be nice to all of a sudden feel like that and be able to do things! And yay for not being as restricted!!! That must be awesome! ;)

AFM- I'm venturing out of the house today to go to the pharmacy to get my new 17p vial for tomorrow. I usually go on my way to the dr, but my appt is at 8:30 tomorrow morning and the pharm doesn't open until 9. I'm actually really looking forward to my appt tomorrow. It's with my main dr (there are 7 ob's in my practice that I rotate between so that I know whoever is on call when I go into labor). My main dr (that I see for regular gyno stuff too) I LOVE and am totally going to bombard her with questions tomorrow. I want the game plan layed out for me for the remainder of the pg. This living week to week thing is getting really old....so I want an ending point in sight. I'm hoping for 34w to get off bedrest but am betting it'll be 36w. I'm sort of thinking my cervix is going to do whatever the hell it wants no matter what I do. I sit in the same position everyday and it fluctuates a ton, so what would it do if I was taking it easy, but on my feet more? Of course, I don't want to risk it either.

Sorry so long :) Oh- and baby is growing...I'm feelingbaby up more by my ribs now and it hurts! With Owen I was laying down all this time so I didn't really feel him that much under my ribs and stuff. But sitting you really feel it!

jessicaileen
04-20-2010, 11:23 AM
Reba - I thought maybe it was due to genes and that's why I could be having a big baby, but I weighed 7lb 3oz when I was born and DH was 7lbs 11oz so we weren't big babies at all. Who knows! I honestly think he's probably a little big but I think a lot has to do with how it's laying.

Tink - Enjoy your brief time out of the house today!

I started to read all the reasons why I could be measuring 5 weeks big online last night and wholy crap did it scare me! I'm not doing any more internet research and just see what the u/s shows.

Tink
04-20-2010, 11:58 AM
Jessica- OMG!!! I was 7lbs 3oz and my DH was 7lbs 11oz!!!! How crazy is that!! LOL! But, Owen was only a 5 pounder at 38w....so I don't think genetics play too much in it. I don't know that if I had carried him to 40w if he would have made the 7lb mark :) And step away from google!!!!

04-20-2010, 12:00 PM
Jess, when I went to see my new doctor the nurse said, "Please don't google complications in pregnancy, just call me if you have questions." lol. I'm sure there is nothing to worry about. My mom and dad were both average sized babies and together their boys ended up 10lbs and 9lb10oz so you never know!

Tink, Glad you're able to get out of the house today! I'm still feeling my LO down real low, but that could be because that's where her feet are and they have been doing all the moving!

Reba, glad to hear the swelling has gone down and you're feeling better! You should post some shower pictures!

Shell, Woohoo on everything looking good! We're so close in dates we could end up having babies on the same day!

leeann38
04-20-2010, 02:08 PM
Yeah, I don't buy into the genetics thing, either. My mom's kids all got smaller. My oldest sister was 8 pounds something, and then they progressively got smaller. LOL Now, I was the 4th and I was 2 months early and weighed 4lb 13.5 oz, and my sister was 1lb 2oz including all the wires attached to her, but she was born at 23 weeks.

Great news - I passed my GTT! Good thing I had it tested last week, because this morning I was craving Dunkin' Donuts and orange juice, so my blood sugar has been on a rollercoaster all day. :-)

Chelsea - Our due dates are really close too - but I'll be shocked if I actually make it to July.

Jessica - I'm with you on not googling pregnancy stuff anymore. I googled the RhoGAM shot when my OB needed me to find out DH's blood type, and the information was all gloom and doom.

Tink - Good luck w/your GTT tomorrow!

Red - So glad you had fun at your shower, and that your mom was able to be there with you. I bet it was just as special for her as it was for you.

Has anyone had dental work done in the 3rd tri? I think I might have a cavity (tooth hurts when I eat something hot or cold) and I don't think I should wait to have it checked out. My dentist said that they use digital imaging which is less dangerous, and that they could target the area for the x-ray - so I'm not really worried, just curious if anyone else has gone through this.

Sarah

chelseaf
04-20-2010, 05:15 PM
Sarah, I didn't realize we are only 2 days apart! I actually have a cavity I'm getting filled on Thursday :(. My new OB gave me paperwork and it said that local anesthesia and dental xrays are fine as long as you have that heavy thing across your belly.

I did have the digital Xrays done at another dentist at 27 weeks, but didn't go back to them because I felt like they were telling me I had issues that I didn't have, just get money from the insurance. They didn't even do a cleaning like I scheduled, just an exam! Come to find out yesterday when I saw a different dentist she told me I didn't need the things they said I did (a $1100 "deep" cleaning and I would have a "small" copay of $200. That's not small in my book!). I do have two tiny cavities and then a good sized one between my teeth that she said she was surprised wasn't bothering me. She suggested getting that one done ASAP and I figured I might as well do the tinies at the same time too.

So now that I've told you my hole dental story, I would say it would be a good idea to go lol.

Oh geez - thanks for the heads up! I've learned my lesson about not putting stuff like this off; my mom was actually in the hospital back in October for 9 days after she ignored a toothache and it turned into an abcess that required surgery and massive amounts of IV antibiotics. She was on morphine for the pain, it was so bad :-(. So... I'm off to the dentist on Thursday too... (sigh).

So I had a horrible night last night. I got home from work and my yellow lab had had a seizure shortly before I got home and peed and pooped on the floor. I felt so bad but he seemed to be doing well so I cleaned it up, made dinner and we went on as usual. (BTW - my dog had surgery when he was around 2 years old and the meds given to him triggered these seizures...he has one about every 3-6 months now) Well last night around 1am, I felt him shaking on the bed and sure enough he was having another. I stayed up with him for at least an hour until he calmed down and the seizures passed and then finally went back to bed but the whole night anytime he would move or adjust, I would check to make sure he wasn't having another seizure. I just feel so bad and he's all I can think about today at work. When he has his seizures all he wants is me - not DH. He acted perfectly normal this morning so hopefully he won't have any more today or for at least a few months. I hate not being able to communicate with him to let him know it will pass and it will be okay.

Anyways....so I'm at work and exhausted! Oh and I forgot to put dinner in the crock pot this morning too so now I have nothing to make for dinner tonight. I think it might be a pizza night now!

On the baby front...everything is going well...very uneventful - the way I like it! :-) Still anxious for the u/s on Friday.

Happy hump-day Wednesday ladies!

Aww Jessica- that must be terrible to see your dog go through that :( Hope he's ok.

AFM- Well.....I got back from my appt today. My cervix is a 3.9!!!! WHAT?!!!! That's craziness!!!! The best part is if I stay stable I will get off bedrest at 32 weeks....that's in 4 weeks!!! I am soooooo flipping excited! Also my ob said she'd induce me at 39w (although she thinks I'll go on my own before then) because my parents are scheduled to leave the country the day after my due date and we want them there and to watch Owen :) And today was my last u/s! Kind of sad after getting them every week from 14w on! They will check my cervix by doing an exam from now on.

Oh- and baby weighed 2lbs 6oz!!! S/he gained 1/2 lb in less then aweek!!! And my due date has officially been changed to a few days earlier... July 17 :D

Tink -- congrats on the great cervix length!

Leeann -- I hear you! No rest for the weary at this point, right? I could also use a catch-up day at work to write reports, but I'm not gonna get that, either!

AFM, well ... another OB visit today; baby is still breech. :( This is so frustrating! I have done everything I can to get him/her to turn ... even the "woo-woo" stuff I was a little skeptical about ... and nothing. I know it's not in my control and I should just go with the flow but it's SO frustrating. I have a version scheduled for next Wednesday (the earliest the hospital could do -- a week away!) and I'm hoping that does the trick. Why does NOTHING about conception or birth work right for me?? Ugh, sorry for the pity party. I guess the plus side is, I'm about at 37 weeks so it's safe for the baby to come whenever now ...

Tink, congrats on the cervix length, you're doing great!

Reba, Enjoy your veg day, well all need them from time to time!

Jessica, I hope your dog is doing better. I can't imagine how scary that must be. I would freak out if I saw one of mine seizing! I know that I'm especially sensitive to my animals now that I'm pregnant. I feel bad shutting the door at night when they're standing right there with that sweet look on their face lol! I think it has to do with my hormones/emotions.

birdling, I hope that baby turns for you! I know you must be so frustrated, but it will all be ok in the end. :)

AFM, I've been thinking about the birth lately and getting nervous! I'm also having an issue with one of my sisters. She thinks she should be in the room when I'm having the baby, so I told her that only my mom was allowed to be there to shut her up about it. Well, she then says to my younger sister that she's not allowed in either and that just my mom is. I guess my little sister was kind of sad because she thought I would want her there. Which I totally don't mind if she's there, I just know my other sister will drive me crazy! lol. She's just too much to handle sometimes. She goes from one extreme to another, either really pissy about something or overly happy that it seems fake. My mom is suggesting that we just don't tell anyone when I go into labor and call after the baby is born. I didn't know this, but that's what she did with all of her babies except for one. I think I might go with her suggestion. I don't want other people stressing me out when I'm already stressed from being in labor! Plus, my little sister still lives at home and the older doesn't so she'll be there when I do go into labor. I just wish my older sister would stop being so dang pushy!

LeeAnn - I hope you can get things done so you feel ready in a month.

Chels - Sorry about the sister problems. That is one nice thing about where I am having my C-Section, I only get one person with me and of course that is my DH. You could have your mom and that would be it, not your choice. We have also decided that 1st day we don't want visitors, it will be just the three of us. I will be groggy and all from the surgery and will allow for bonding time.

Birdling - Hope the baby turns. I can understand beign upset cause nothing is easy, that is why we are hear for support, so throw your pity party and we will come. (Hugs)

Jessica- Sounds scary! We haven't a pet here in a while b/c the last dog we got snapped and tried attacking my nephew-so since then- no pets. Hopefully he won't have anymore seizures for a while(the longer the better right?)

Leeann- don't worry, you'll get it all done before your cs date! I didn't think I would and I'm going tomarrow to get the last 2 things we'll need in the next few months!

Bird- I'm sorry s/he's still breech! Hopefully you won't go into labor before next week- if you do, can they still try to turn him before you dialate too much?

afm- all I can say for this past day is OUCH! I've had weird sharp pains that feel like they would be on my cervix and then radiate through my va-jay-jay! and it doesnt matter if I lay down---so I'm hoping that means he's starting to make his way down and open me up! I was also kept up almost all of last nite with contractions, I tried timing a few since I'll be 37 wks on friday, and although they weren't regular I had atleast 7 in an hour!(a nice semi-hot shower helped *some* but not with those other pains!) I'm also seriously considering asking my dr if she'll be willing to induce me next weekend even though I'll only be 38wks- there's even more going on with my son the week after next and he would miss out on having his parents there like the other kids(one is a mother's day thing) and I'd feel sooo bad if it came down to me missing it! Sorry for the book- I didn't realize it would end up being so much! lol

Thanks, Candace. You're only about 2 weeks ahead of me and there is no way the room will be done in 2 weeks. LOL It would take every day of working on it, which dh does NOT do... A lot of the problem is he gets home from work and we eat dinner, then there isn't much time left between bath and bed for Makenna because she goes down at 7:30. Oh well, what will be will be! lol

Leeann- I am 4 days behind you and I have NOTHING done! Just fretted over this on the moms board. Oh well...like I said I have a bassinet, diapers, and a boob. This will have to do LOL.

Cac- that is what is happening to me??!?!??! It hurts like the ****ens. I didn't have that with Brett so I don't know what it is but I don't like it. It feels like something is stabbing and ripping at the same time....UGH

Jessica- so sorry about your dog. That is so sad. I hope he feels better today.

Birdling- The baby still has time to turn! Don't give up yet.

So many of you are soooooo close!!!! I'm so jealous :p

Tink-Awesome on the cervix and getting off of bed rest!

Chels-I had a cousin who had a bunch of people in the room during labor. I could not do that. For me it is strictly my mom and my husband and everyone else is banned until the baby arrives.(besides the medical staff of course)

Cac0115-I think that sounds like pressure pains to me.

AFM--just waiting, waiting and waiting. I have my baby shower coming up this sunday. It seems like everyone in my family got pregnant after me, and now there is a debate in my family of whether or not you should have a baby shower with each kid. The funny thing is the person who gave their opinion on it first was my cousin who doesn't have any children.

leeann38
04-22-2010, 04:01 PM
I get those sharp pains, too. They feel like they are near my cervix. I asked the dr and she said it's most likely just adhesions pulling from my previous c-section. It makes sense to me. I'm sure when that heals, it attaches itself to other parts, too. lol I guess once you stretch out so far - especially to the point where you were at when you had the surgery, you probably push them to the limits. Blah!

Hi all!!! I can't believe. I am at the 3rd trimester! I failed my glucoe test n had to do the 3hr one today...really hoping to pass...any of u have GD?? What is the treatment??? Thanks!!!

Cac0115
04-22-2010, 11:30 PM
Yay Puw!! Welcome to the 3rd tri!!

katie- exactly! hurts like h*ll!

Leeann- It would make sense for me too, but ds was a natural- so no incision(sp?) to heal here

afm- nst was uneventful today- I confused the resident with the pains since they're in the middle and not on the sides and don't indicate when I have to run to the ladies room! An hour and a half and I'm term!!! So now its sit and wait!

shan3401
04-23-2010, 10:10 AM
puwupupu- Welcome to the 3rd tri! I failed my 1hr too, but then passed the 3hr. I never had GD but my sister in law did and I know she was taking metformin, but I think it depends on how bad your sugars are for the treatment.

Darlin
04-23-2010, 10:20 AM
Well we had an u/s yesterday and uneventful NST. Dr. says the ba by weighs 6lbs 10oz. I got the impression that she will interfere at 28 weeks for fear that she ill get too big because of my GD. Everyone around me is freaking out now and asking me if I am freaking out.

I guess I won't freak out until we are at the hospital. Just kinda worried that I won't have everything prepared at work for Maternity Leave since it will be starting 2 weeks earlier than expected. Looks like this baby will be here right after Mother's Day unless she decides to change those plans.

04-23-2010, 10:42 AM
Darlin, I can't believe you just have two weeks left!

puw, I failed my one hour glucose test too, but passed the 3 hour. Hopefully you will too! I think there are different ways to treat GD, from metformin to insulin, but don't worry about it unless you get there!

Candace, So excited for you! Yay full term!!

Katie, LOL! you crack me up!

Lee Ann, I'm sure you'll get everything done in time. And even if you don't your LO won't care if her room is done or not. Like Katie said, all she needs is a place to sleep, diapers and a boob! lol.

Sarah did you get your tooth looked at? I got my fillings yesterday and didn't feel a thing! I had myself all worked up about it for nothing! lol.

leeann38
04-23-2010, 11:04 AM
Darlin - I'm guessing you mean 38 weeks? LOL yay!!! Measurements are off a lot of the times, so don't necessarily expect a whopper! hehe

Re: room. I know it doesn't matter if it's ready or not. I just want it ready, because I need a place to put her clothes away once I wash them, and I am not going to have the time that I had after Makenna was born to get things done because I will have Makenna, too, kwim? I want to just be able to enjoy my week and a half with dh home and I'm planning on sitting around and relaxing as much as possible until he goes back to work, because I didn't do that with Makenna and I regret it now that I know it won't be as "easy" this time. haha

We are cleaning today (Makenna and I) because she isn't feeling good, so we stayed home. She's sitting on the couch with her blankie eating raisins and drinking juice while I dust/vacuum. lol

Tink
04-23-2010, 11:48 AM
I'm dying so bad to do some nesting!!! My house is a disaster since I haven't been able to clean it in over 8 weeks! DH does his best to keep it up, but is basically just doing the minimum. My mom told me if I make her a list, she'll come next week and do a bunch of cleaning/organizing for me. I still haven't really bought much (we don't need much, but the things we need I haven't bought yet). I want my mom to rearrange my kitchen cabinets. We replaced the shelf we always used for bottles with sippy cups....I don't know how we'll fit both sippys and bottles! Plus Owen's bday is in 2 weeks and it's driving me nuts not to be able to do much for his party. I also just realized I have nothing to wear to his party!! I plan on going and just sitting through the whole thing with my feet up.

Oh- and get this...my dh is doing what I'm referring to as "extreme nesting" and he has our realtor (that we used to buy 2 houses) coming over tomorrow morning. He wants to move!!!!! Not right now of course, but I can't even think about that right now!! LOL!

jessicaileen
04-23-2010, 11:57 AM
Had my u/s this morning and here's the update...

All is well and baby is in normal range with weight - he's 2lbs 15oz. She did say he's long for her gestational age. Guess we're going to have a basketball player! haha. They also measured my amniotic fluid and I do have extra fluid so they will continue to monitor me and I go back in 2 weeks for a regular visit and in 4 weeks will have another u/s to check fluid. She said if I still have to much amniotic fluid I will probably continue to be monitored by u/s and have a NST and they will probably induce me around 39 weeks. Fine by me! haha! Also got my Rhogam shot today and even let the nursing student give it to me!

Now going shopping with my mom and husband!

I hope everyone is having a great day! I feel so relieved that he is okay and there's nothing wrong.

chelseaf
04-23-2010, 12:45 PM
Jess, Glad the u/s went well!! No more worrying, yay!

Tink, LOL about DH having the realtor come over. Way extreme nesting!

Lee Ann, I get what you mean. Hopefully you and DH can get it all together in the next couple of weeks. And I hope Makenna feels better!

On the nesting and moving topic, I have soooo many things that I need to get done and it just makes me not want to do them! We have some things packed and into storage already, but still have our bedroom/bathroom and the kitchen to pack. And of course all the various things that are left around. With DH being gone I don't want to get too into it because I won't be able to move the boxes around. I hate how his group deploying has put everything off until the last minute. They usually have all these little trips done a couple months before they leave, not weeks! This trip will be 11 days and the one a couple weeks before was 17! So when he gets back he'll have 10 days of leave then has to be back to San Diego and they'll leave for the big deployment a couple weeks later. I'm so dreading all of this.. :(

Tink
04-23-2010, 07:54 PM
Jessica- so glad everything is looking good!

Chelsea- All that must be so rough. I can't imagine. Hang in there!!

Heard from my ob today that my bloodwork showed I'm anemic. Bleh. I didn't have a problem with that last time. So now I guess I need to send dh out to get me iron pills...booo. Anyone else anemic? Why does that happen?

katiejill
04-23-2010, 08:24 PM
Tink- I am anemic..well she said borderline anemic. I don't know why it happens but the baby takes so much blood. I am taking iron too. I was anemic the first time as well but I dont think I took the iron pills very long and i was fine

Cac0115
04-23-2010, 10:53 PM
Tink-I'm also anemic, but I have to take iron pills 3 times a day! I started iron pills once a day around 27 wks and then a few weeks ago it was tripled b/c of dizzy spells. Our blood volumne goes up, so we need more iron.

Jessica- yay for a good appt!

Chelsea- sounds rough...I know what you mean about so much to do, and not wanting to do it.

Leeann-I hope you can get what you need done in time!

afm- saw my dr today, he's still high up, so she didn't see if I'm dialted at all yet. She said that with the way the ligaments attach to the pelvis that all those pains could be ligament pains...if I make it another week(which at this point I think I will) that she'll check me then. I'm just trying to keep in mind that 12 hrs before ds was born, I had NO signs of labor! DH got to feel the baby's head and back though today, the dr guided his hands along the baby's position so he was able to feel it.

Candace - it's so exciting that we are all so close to meeting our new LOs now, isn't it?? :)

Tink
04-24-2010, 12:12 PM
omg Leeann- so I just read that and it kind of hit me that you all will be delivering and then a few more of us will be about ready (the next wave). If I even make it that far, I'm being induced at 39w....so that means I only have 11 weeks at the MOST!!! That's really not very much time!

leeann38
04-24-2010, 12:58 PM
Tink - no it's NOT. I swear I just had like 10 weeks left and now we are at 3 weeks and some odd days. It has gone by so incredibly fast I can't believe it. I'm in total denial that there will be another baby here in a few weeks...

Cac0115
04-24-2010, 02:51 PM
Yes it is going fast! I remeber just coming over the 3rd tri board(when there was like 5 other moms left over here) and thinkin over these past 10 wks-omg its taking so long!- lol and now I'm just waiting to tel dh it's time!

Which btw- i believe he's hit a late nesting bug! I went into the kitchen and he only had mopping left to do in there! The only reason he asked me to come out of hiding(our nephews are over and very loud and energetic!) was to help him make jello!

Tink
04-24-2010, 04:29 PM
Candace- lol about dh!!

SO my dh went and picked up our rocker/recliner that we ordered from bru today. I am so excited because now I have a place to sit in the nursery while I tell either dh or my mom where to put things!! LOL!

leeann38
04-24-2010, 06:23 PM

leeann38
04-24-2010, 06:26 PM
omg... just realized I'm in the 9th box now... I remember being back in the first box where baby looked like an alien and being so envious of everyone in the 9th box. Now their babies are all getting really close to the 1 year mark!

katiejill
04-24-2010, 07:20 PM
Leeann- LOL you crack me up. I am so glad to be near the end. I am just miserable now and I haven't been until probably this week. I have gained WAY more weight than I wanted to.

Got a few things done for the baby today and may do some more tonight but I just got exhausted.

Brett's field trip to the zoo is thursday and I just know I am going to be miserable....but I am excited. All the girls at his daycare are really nervous with me going though and I think it is cute. I go to the doctor wed to see if I dialated at all and that will give me a perspective wether I should be going or not:p

leeann38
04-24-2010, 07:32 PM
Ya, I gained more weight than I wanted to, too, but I don't really care. LOL I haven't gained a lot, but more than an "obese" person should - maybe 20 pounds or something and still have a few weeks to go. With dd, I came home from the hospital 30lbs lighter and am hoping for the same this time. hahaha

chelseaf
04-24-2010, 08:30 PM
My weight keeps going up and down a couple pounds and it's driving me crazy. I knew I was retaining water one day and weighed myself, not a good idea lol. I'm trying not to care too much, but it's hard!

So I'm stupid and started looking at baby stuff and saw some bedding I like better than I got. Ugh! But it is so cute!! I've already unpacked and put her bedding in the crib and got a comforter for my bed that matches so now I can't return either. What's sad is the only reason I'm not buying it is because I don't want to get crap from my mom and sister lol. I could always sell the other on ebay..
Here's a pic of the one I like now. Plus it's usually sooo expensive but it's half off!

katiejill
04-24-2010, 09:22 PM
That is cute bedding!!! I really like it

Leeann- 20 pounds is GREAT!!! I unfortunately have gained 40 pounds:mad: I just hope it comes off pretty fast. I got down to prepreggo weight the first time pretty fast but still had plenty to lose. I worked so hard to get down after Brett that I am just mad I keep gaining so much. I am going to see if I can post a preggo pic. I am huge LOL

leeann38
04-24-2010, 09:50 PM
Oh dear, sweet, Katie. LOL I'm like over 100 pounds overweight. hahaha Oh well, knut lost it after Hailey, so I can do it, too!!! I'm 65 pounds heavier than I was when Makenna turned 1, BUT that was after a 50 pound weight loss and then my mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer less than 2 months after Makenna turned 1, so I gained it all back. At least I know I CAN get the weight off...

Chels - I'd totally buy what you like. I did the exact same thing, only THANKFULLY someone on the boards liked my bedding (the rainforest one) and I got to sell it to them for what I got it for, which was exciting! Now her room is going to be adorable and girly. Just wish I had a 20% off BRU coupon so I could order a glider. haha

chelseaf
04-24-2010, 10:37 PM
Katie, I saw your pic on FB and you look good! All baby!

LeeAnn, I've got it sitting in my shopping cart on the website lol. I emailed DH about it and he never really cares about me buying things, but he of course said it was money we could save. I think he's tired of me changing my mind. I've done it so far with the crib and travel system, but those were returnable! lol.

04-25-2010, 12:56 AM
Thanks Chelsea! I couldn't figure out how to put it on here bc it was under my moms photos. I have been so lazy with uploading mine....Sheesh I sound like a lazy bum on here

jessicaileen
04-25-2010, 07:14 AM
Tink - I have a rocker in the baby's room and love telling DH what needs to go where...I figured it's the only time in my life where I can be "lazy" without getting a backlash from him! haha!

Leeann - I JUST got my 20% off for BRU in the mail last week, I think. It's for the BRU in Monroeville, which I'm assuming would be the same one you go to? It came with other Rewards "R" Us coupons. I hope you get yours soon!

Katie - Hopefully you'll get good news at your appt on Wednesday that your starting to dilate!

Chelsea - I agree, get the bedding you want...but I understand about going back and forth on purchases. I've been doing the same thing with my registry! It's driving DH nuts!

I've gained 16 pounds so far, which for me, is a lot since I was already overweight. The midwives aren't concerned, the only thing I hate now that is every two week appointment I go to, I'm gained 1.5 or more each time. At one of my first OB appointments they said that since I'm overweight, I'll probably only gained 15-20lbs max....yeah, that went right out the window! But, I'm blaming the weight gain to the excess amniotic fluid that I'm retaining too...haha...just an excuse but oh well. I'm just glad that I'm having this baby during summer so I can get out and walk him and get the baby fat gone!

Hope everyone had a great weekend so far. I have been trying to get everything purchased, washed and cleaned since this little one will be here two weeks ealier than expected. Now all I have to do is pack a bag. Seemed like I had a long time to get it done, but now it feels like it needs to be done NOW.

Now to decide what to put in the bag, I am sure I will pack and re-pack at least twice. :p

Hello everyone, hope all is well :) On the weight gain issue I have gained about 10lbs so far, I am pretty proud of that, because with my son I gained about 70, but I wasn't as heavy at the beginning. I am determined to get the weight off finally after the baby is born though. I started to lose some weight w/ metformin before getting pregnant so I plan on going back on that. I have my baby shower in a few hours today. I am very excited! :D

Darlin
04-25-2010, 06:02 PM
Shan - Hope your shower was great.

On the weight issue, I have gained 17 which i am excited about cause I have been working so hard and still woding the water aerobics, it has paid off. I lost 42 before getting pregnant and was so sfraid that I would gain it all back. Now I am looking forward to seeing how much I will lose when the baby is born and how the Met and Breastfeeding play into all of it.

On the hospital bag - I'm not super concerned about it. Dh will be going home every evening to put dd to bed so I can always have him bring me stuff if I absolutely need it. We live really close to our hospital.

Jessica - we actually go to the BRU in Cranberry Twp. Someone is mailing me a coupon, so yay!!!

Hi to everybody. I've been a poor board buddy - between work and being sick with a miserable cold. I think I'm finally on the mend, tho, so hope to catch up in the next few days w/ personals.

Hope all's well. I am not caught up on reading, but looks like my weight gain is more than anyone's I read about just now! :( 25!! I'll still be less than I was w/ dd, tho, so I'm hanging onto that!

Nope Dawnie...I am at 40:( Oh well I got it off the first time. Just wish I hadn't gained so much. I am not too concerned just mad that I got this way LOL

Cac0115
04-26-2010, 09:32 AM
Well as far as weight gain goes- I'm around 30 lbs- which I'll take b/c i was average weight before ds and then gained 50 with him- and never lost it all!

Chelsea- If you really want the bedding- get it! Who said you only can have one set anyways?? You can change it up so it's not the same thing all the time- and if the sheets get soiled, you have a great excuse to change it!:)

shan-hope your shower went well!!

afm- well I'm still here! lol I do notice though that If I'm on my feet more than 5 min walking around, then those pains start-yesterday they weren't so sharp(we were shopping for my sisters 8th grade events' dresses) they were waaay more crampy- hope thats a sign!!

Tink
04-26-2010, 01:31 PM
Candace- hope you're not around too much longer!! ;)

Chelsea- that bedding is cute...whtchya gonna do?! :p

re: weight...I'm in total denial. I get weighed every week at the dr. This past week I had gained 2lbs since the week before

not much here. I've been in a crappy mood since last night. I was in tears all night last night and not sure why. Blah. I hope this feeling passes soon. :(

jessicaileen
04-26-2010, 02:10 PM
Tink - I know the feeling. I cried at work today when I told my mom via e-mail that I read her pregnancy journal yesturday (and I cried reading that too)!

Candace - I hope your time is coming soon too! I can't wait until I'm that close!

Dawn - Everyone here at my work has had a cold and I really hope I don't get it. I had one at the beginning of the pregnancy and it was miserable so I can't imagine how bad it would suck having one now!

chelseaf
04-26-2010, 02:12 PM
For now I'm going to wait on the bedding. I keep going back and forth and driving myself crazy! lol. I did find a nice glider on Walmart's website (love the free site to store shipping!) that will match what I already have perfectly. Maybe not buying the new bedding will justify spending that much money on the chair lol. I'll post a picture.

Tink, don't worry about the weight gain, you said you lost some a few weeks ago right? Maybe your body is just making up for it. I've a few days of the blues myself. I wonder if part of yours has to do with being stuck on bedrest? Feel better!

shan, I hope you had a great baby shower! I'm so excited for mine!

EDIT: I'll post a picture of the bedding I have now too!

Im been a bad board buddy too! I always keep up on reading but I barely post, I really don't have a very positive attitude lately. I have been so depressed this last month, I had one of my baby showers yesterday and I was kinda suprised that I didn't really get anything I really needed. Mainly just clothes. But I have shower #2 next weekend so hopefully it will go better. Alot of things have been going badly and I have me majorly stressed. Between passing out in the shower a few weeks ago and finding out that I am anemic (sp?) and failing my GTT, im going nuts! Me and Dh have been going through an emotional rollercoaster because I just cant keep it together! The house is a wreck and that puts me in a horrible mood! Just so much stress! And my family could not be less supportive! DH's family has really stepped up which is nice but I would really rather it would be my mom and my sister! But they seem not to be concerned with anything having to do with me at all!! :( I am just a total downer! My sister even told me that she cant be excited for me because she should be the one having a baby first!!! OMG shes 30 single and lives with my uncle! And I am 28 married and own my own home!! WTF! Our lives are just different and its not my fault that she doesnt have it together! She also says I have no idea how she feels because she may never have a baby!!! I said where the hell have you been for the last 6 years!! I know exactly how she feels! uggggh I just wanna slap some people sometimes!

Sorry for the rant there is so much more but I don't want to depress everyone! I am just trying to do my own thing and forget about all this drama!

leeann38
04-26-2010, 03:31 PM
kimbree - you won't depress us! Sometimes it's good to get it off your chest. Also, regarding the shower... I could have warned all of you that are having girls... people like to buy little girl clothes. You will get way more clothes than you ever need/want, so my advice is to return what you can with gift receipts because otherwise you will end up wearing the outfits once or twice before they are outgrown! lol

AFM - I'll be 36 weeks tomorrow. I almost can't even type that. It's too close to full term. LOL I can't believe this baby is almost here... I'm ready to not be pregnant but not ready for 2 kids. hahaha I bought a blood pressure monitor at Target today just because I sometimes feel like my pressure is up. I've taken it probably 10 times this afternoon and it's ranged from 131/96 to 121/80. It's mostly been in the 120s/80s so I guess that's good. I'll just keep my eye on it and I'll let my dr know Wednesday at my appt what it's been doing. Maybe she'll do my c/s a week earlier if it keeps going up throughout the day!

Kimbree, LeeAnn is right, we don't mind the venting! I know I do it all the time! lol. I hope things start going better for you soon. Hopefully when the baby gets here things will calm down with your sister. With all my TTC problems I was always happy for my siblings when they had babies. It meant I got a new niece or nephew to play with!

LeeAnn, I can't believe you're almost at 36 weeks either! It felt like the first trimester took sooo long and now time is flying by. Even though we've been trying for this baby for so long I'm still nervous about how life as we know it will change. I know it's for the better, but still scary!

Tink
04-26-2010, 03:46 PM
Leeann- I can't believe you're 36 weeks either!! wow!!

Kimbree- definitely use this as a place to vent!! Pregnancy in itself is tough without a ton of drama going on. And yes, clothes seem to be a shower favorite! I was recently told I was anemic too...several other girls on here are as well.

Chelsea- I like both the glider and the bedding! The glider looks similar to what we got for our nursery! We got a chocolate brown one that reclines. And I do think my attitude has to do with bedrest. Just not feeling like I can get anything done for the baby and for Owen's bday next week. I'm also afraid my stupid random cervix will shorten and I won't be able to go to Owen's bday party.....that would be awful :(

Cac0115
04-26-2010, 05:02 PM
Kim- I'm sorry for all the trouble you're having! I'm also anemic(I take an extra iron pill 3x a day!) and I notice I'm close to fainting when I'm hot(comes with a dizzy spell-which is why I'm already out of work!) so keep cool! Hopefully you can get some things you need at your next shower(or atleast enough gift receipts to return some of the extra clothes for the things you do need)- and ofcourse we're always here for you to rant!:)

Leeann- yay for almost term!

Tink- I'm hoping so too!:) and it does seem like our bodies like to work against us!

Chelsea- that chair looks sooo comfy!! and the bedding is cute too!

Anyone heard from birdling?? I know she seemed waay closer to delivery than myself and her version is a couple days away--hope you're still hanging on long enough for that if you're still here!!

afm- nothing too exciting here-- I think he's pressing on my pubic bone or something there b/c it hurts to walk! If I'm on my feet for more than 5 min- it feels like he's trying to break through the bone or whatever he's pressing on! and I'm not worried about him being big since he measured only 5 lbs a few weeks ago I don't have gd, and his brother was 7lbs 6oz---so ouch child! find the spot to stick you head down!!:p

Hi everyone - this board has been rockin' since late last week! We went to the mountains over the weekend and had a great time, but I am exhausted today. I'm also having total withdrawal from my son, after spending so much QT with him this weekend. I hate leaving him at school, but Mondays are especially hard.

Chelsea - thanks for asking about my dentist appt - my doc took x-rays, tapped on my teeth, did all sorts of tests, and couldn't find anything wrong!!! Which is good news, definitely, but then a nurse said that they see pregnant women in there quite often who complain of mouth pain and there's no reason that they can diagnose. ?!? I do have a history of grinding my teeth though, so my dentist asked me to get a mouthguard to wear at night and to call him if the pain gets worse or I develop a fever or any sign of infection. So far, so good - I was even able to drink iced tea over the weekend without a lot of pain so maybe he was right.

Leeann - I totally feel your stress about getting the nursery ready - but mine is around moving our son out of the nursery so the baby can sleep in there. We don't have a twin bed yet for DS or bedding, and the only thing in his new bedroom is a hand-me-down dresser that DH finally painted navy blue after my head started spinning around while I was nagging him about it.

Tink - keeping my fingers crossed that you make it to Owen's b-day party and have a great time!

Kimbree -no need to apologize for ranting here... people say the craziest things to us despite the crap that we've been through to start families, and the only way to deal with it is to remember that it's about them, not us.

Sorry I can't get to more personals right now - the house is a disaster area and I've got to get out the vacuum before DS comes home!

I am MIA foe a few days and the board goes crazy. We having trouble logging in, found out DH put a new filter on the internet and it was blocking all message boards (messed us both up for homework online).

So here are some personals, sorry will miss some people!!

LeeAnn - 36 weeks!! The time has flown thias last trimester. I will be 35 in 2 days, yet it feels like I was just 27.

Kim - Ranting is appropiate here cause we understand and all need a place to rant. Hope things get better with the family. I like everyone's ideas about returnign clothes for items you need. I got the right amount of clothes and a good amout of the rest, we ended up buying the travel system, video moniter (ebay for half price) and the snap-n-go stroller (craigslist $25). The of couse clothes i wanted to buy.

Cac - I think we may have same problem. My LO dropped into position in the pelvis and I can't stand long and now really have the waddle.

Chels - I say get what you want and ebay is a great place to get rid of extras!! Love the rocker/recliner. I am not getting any nursery furntiture (crib, rocker, etc.) till after we move so the bassinet and my lazyboy in the living room will have to do.

I am doing well, really uncomfortable since he dropped on Saturday, but due to being so short it is hard to see that i am carrying lower. I was hopiong with dropping he could no longer dig his little foot into my ribs, but he is so big and I am so short, he can still reach everything.

I have had a few contractions and when I start stressing about school they get worse, so trying to not stress, but i have 3 final papers due bext week. My Dr. thinks he will not wait for the 24th of May for my scheduled date, so we may be moving it up, just play it by ear each week. As long as he comes after May 7th, I am fine with it. Graduation is the 7th, and he will also be past 36 weeks (magical lung number) so I can be ready.

I between finals and baby prep, I am keeping busy, but my BFF's mom (my 2nd mom) is coming for a few days this week and then my inlaws and SIL are coming for graduation ceremonies so now I have to clean the house. During finals week I usualy let everything slide, but can't now!!

Okay, now that I wrote my book, I will say good luck to those with LO coming any day and will try to catch up when the crazyness of finals ends for me! may pop in when I need a break or am procrastinating.

Tink - did you get the Rock a bye Jayden recliner? I was checking that one out, too, but it felt stiff to me - like when you reclined, you really had to hold down the back with your weight or it would pop back up. Maybe it was just the store model that was stiff... idk!

Yup, that's the one. I've only sat in it a few times, but when I recline it it stays where it's put. If that makes sense :p I really wanted a recliner...too many times I fell asleep nursing Owen and woke up with my head hanging down almost touching his forehead! lol!

Sorry, ladies, no time for personals ... version scheduled for in the morning (7:30 a.m. here, ugh), so wish me luck! PLEASE, baby, TURN!!

Leeann -- thanks for the stuttering info; I will PM you or respond to the thread when I get a chance. I can't say we never pressure Daniel with too many questions or whatever, but we're really pretty good about not interrupting him, and we've never drawn attention to the stutter. The SLP at one of my elementaries was the one who told me about "turtle speech," but I knew that was way too cognitive a strategy for a 2 1/2 year old so I never tried it. He's been stuttering about 2 months, I think ... no history of stuttering in the family. Anyway, I'll pm you with more questions! :)

Hi to all! :)

puw, Congrats on passing the GTT! Judy's babies are doing pretty well. She posts some updates on the mom boards and has a blog now. (the link is in her sig I believe)

birdling, I hope everything goes well tomorrow and the baby turns!!!

birdling - my guess is it's a motor/language mismatch right now and he'll catch up, but keep an eye on it. If it gets worse, or you notice any secondary characteristics (facial tension, blocking, eye blinking, etc) then have him checked out. Often kids similar to him will outgrow it, but just watch it :)

Leeann -- definitely no blocking; had a friend who did that in high school so I know what that sounds like. :) Thanks for all the info!

Quick update -- the version WORKED!!! This baby is now head down!!! Here's hoping it doesn't decide to be a toot and turn again or anything!
