New month already??? Time flys by!

Well Im up at 430 with a sick kid(Lucy)...ugggg

Porkchop was up whining alot. I tried to lay her down at 830. I was watching..'Dirty Dancying...Havanah Nights'. NEver seen it...so I just wanted to watch that. BUt noooooooooooooooooo Porkchop was being grumpy. And she wont settle down for dh. He even took her in our room and laid her on our bed with him to get her to fall asleep. She kept crying and then would settle down and then would start back up again. I got tired of hearing it and wetn in there...as soon as she seen me she started crying loud. SO I took her out with me and she was fine..fell asleep on me. Then I put her to bed and I went to bed and two hours later she was up. Geez. :?

That was at 1230. Now Lucy is up. She wont go to sleep and I feel back for leaving her in her room while she is awake while we all sleep. So im up with her .

All you mommys who are up wiht their kiddos alot....my hats off to you! I forgot what it was like to be up in the middle of the night....and what Im remembering of it...it SUCKS!

Lucy has school this morning but since she is up now Im sure she will be wore out by the time school rolls around. I hate her missing...especially this being the first week and then they are missing MOnday for the holiday. Oh well.

I got all my Halloween stuff up yesterday other than the lights in my windows...hehe Dont want to over do it now..do I? lol

Morning Lisa!

I am pooped too! Anthony was up at 1am playing DJ in his crib. We have the Tiny Love mobile that has Bach/Beethoven so he presses the buttons and changes the tunes! :P I left the mobile in because he was not touching it. Last night we heard weird sounds so I went to go look.. He tore the mobile part right of the hanger and popped a few pieces off. So I pulled that out of his crib and just left the music box. I placed him down to sleep and as soon as I did that he jumped up again to satnd in hi scrib. I got him a bottle and he ate 2oz laying down and then got up again. So I went to bed. We heard him playing. then he started crying so Marko got up to give him the rest of the bottle. He ate that and wanted to play. Left him again. So finally after this has all been going on for 1 hour we brought him to our bed. He rolled over against Marko and I scratched his back - he was out in 5 min. So I carried him back to his crib. He was up at 6am this morning - so cheery! :)

Kristen - I hope the new Zantac does works well!!

Kelli - It may be a growth spurt - I'd feed him as much as he wanted. We went through that with Anthony a couple of times. Otherwise he doesn't eat very much.

Happy Friday Mommies!! I missed all of you yesterday - I was off work b/c of no sitter so I'm out of the loop this morning but I'll try to catch up later.

Aiden has been waking up 5 times a night again for the past 2 nights...ugh!! It's just a matter of me giving him his blankie then he falls back asleep - sure hope he doesn't go back to the old days.

Well gotta go catch up on some work :D

LM- Sorry Lucy is sick and porkchop was grumpy for you. That's no fun at all.

Mara- Sounds like you have a palyful little boy on your hands there! I hope he sleeps better for you tonight.

It's just after 6 here. I got up to say goodbye to dh who had to be at work really early today. Leata has been sleeping well though so I am grateful for that.
Leata did not want to eat yesterday at all. She had about 6 ounces of milk in the morning, then 6 ounce of juice in the evening (I gave her 8 ounces both time but she refused to finish it. At bed time she had 8 ounces of milk. She wouldn't eat anythng solid. Lately she has been like that but most of the time she absolutly loves to eat. She will eat just about anything when she is feeling well. I just don't know what to do with this child. She is losing and gaining and losing. I am hoping that she will be at least 18 pounds today at her 15 month check up but I have my doubts. She will have her shots today which will probably make her not too happy for the afternoon. Hopefully she will be ok tomorrow and Sunday because we have our friends and their two little boys coming from New Mexico tomorrow. She will have lots of fun with them if she is in a good mood. Oh, she literally slept the day away yesterday. When all was said and done she slept 21 hours. Probably part of the reason she didn't eat. I don't know what to do with her. I guess we will talk to the doctor about it today as well as my numb face on top of her regular check up. Her appt isn't until 410pm.

Well, dh is gone and I can go back to bed now.

Leanna

Sarah- Good luck at Leata's appointment this afternoon!

Lisa- Hope Lucy gets feeling better!

Mara- Sounds like Anthony is a happy little guy playing in the middle of the night. :)

Kelly- Follow your instinct with feeding Gavin and let his doctor worry about taking care of him if he gets sick. I'm really starting to think pediatricians don't like breastfeeding because it doesn't involve them! I don't know why they have to get their hands all in it and measure stuff and tell moms how to feed their babies. It's almost impossible to overfeed a baby when you are nursing since the supply is controlled by the baby's demand. The amount you pump out at a given time is not always an indication of the amount he is actually eating at a given time either.

Whew. Ok AF has me really grumpy this morning. Plus Bonnie and Jack both ended up in bed with us last night, squished up to either side of me, of course. I am going back to bed. Happy Friday!!

Oh yeah Kelli ...Scratch what I said about that being too much food. I TOTALLY forgot about you boob feeding. I thought you were tlaking about formula. SOrry.

NOT A GOOOD MORNING!

Lucy is flipping the flog out right now because she isnt goin to school. I dont want to be one of those parents sending their sick kid to school..snottin everywhere.
Plus she was up till from 1-2...then 4-530. God...shes in there crying.

DH thinks I need to take her to the doctor. BUt she is just coughin some and has a runny nose which we are giving her OTC stuff. I know they wont want to give me anything. I hate making decisions.

Mara-SOrry you had a night too.

Jaime...You too.

Hey SArah!

Ok..Im tired of hearing her whine...guess I'll try to talk to her and find something for her to do. I m glad she likes school now..but geez.

My goodness --

Sounds like everyone had a rough night. Sorry to hear that -- hope everyone feels better enough to enjoy a long weekend!!

We did allright last night. Matt went to bed at a normal time, got up about midnight because he couldn't find his pacifier (I gave it to him and rubbed his back) and he was back out in minutes. Got up at 8 this morning. I think he's feeling a bunch better.

That's a relief, because we've thrown together a trip to visit DH's family this weekend. They're only 3-hours, but you guys know how travelling with babies for any distance can be a chore. So, I'm working from home today -- doing laundry -- and straightening up the house so we're ready to go in the morning.

We did laugh, though. DH's family lives in Knoxville, TN -- where I went to college. The home-opener football game is tomorrow night. DH's mother was "nice enough" to get us tickets. She said she was just being nice, but the reality is that she wants to watch Matt by herself. How funny is it that she's paying US to watch our kid!! She's never watched him before, so I'm sure they'll have a blast. They have a VERY NICE house, so my bulldozer oughta have a wonderful time

I've gotta run, but hope you ladies have a good weekend. Happy Labor Day!!!

Kelly--Piper was eating 5-6oz of formula every 3 hrs during the day at that age and she wasn't as big. Definitely do what you feel is right for your baby and don't listen to your ped--sounds crazy to give a baby a paci if he's hungry. My ped must be different than some of yours--he put the pressure on for a couple days for me to bf Piper. I just gave her cereal w/o asking because I knew she needed it.

Piper hasn't felt well these past couple of days either. She has a clear runny nose, watery/itchy eyes, low grade fever and now a mild cough. GREAT  The wedding is on Sunday. It's her flower girl debut! Hopefully she is feeling better by then. Well I gotta go pack and head off to Gymboree. We are leaving this afternoon and won't be back until Mon. sometime. You ladies have a wonderful Labor Day weekend! Talk to you soon :)

Sarah - Anthony isn't eating well either. He refuses. I did manage to get him to eat 12oz yesterday. 8oz before bed and 4oz in the night around 1am. My mom says all he ate was 4 spoons of cereal and 4oz the entire day.. I did manage to give him 1 conatiner of bananas with cereal Heniz cup and 1/3 of a cup of apples with bananas. I am not sure if he is revolting against anything but sweet stuff. he loved veggies before - now he won't eat them. He used to drink his bottle - he won't now. He did have a virus we took him to the clinic on Sunday am. He was covered in red blothces - so I wonder if he is not feeling well either. Or if he is teething and doesn't really want to eat because he is sore? He lost about 1 lb in the last week and a half. He is my skinny boy - I just wish he would eat.

Leanna - Hope you feel better!!

Lisa - Hope you can get Lucy distracted! :) Hope she feels better too! A nap for the three of you is in order for the afternoon! :)

Hi tracy! Hope you have a fun weekend and survive the drive! We go to Ohio to visit BIL all the time and we break up the drive just to let A stretch out - he gets irritable sitting in the carseat so long.

Well - I have a headache this am - I am sure AF is around the corner - blech.

Well Porkchop went down for a nap. And Lucy wanted me to lay on her bed while she played so I did. But I had to keep getting up and pee. You know when you are drving downt he rode and you ever see a cow pee??? IT is like a bucket of water shooting out their butt??? Thats what I felt like...it was alike a gallon of pee. And I havent drankmuch..whats up with that????? lol Not that you all wanted to know that....but it irritated me. So no sleep then..hopefully this afternoon I can get one. HMMMPH!

Yet another question for all of you: is it normal for a 2 week old to go an entire day without a poopy diaper? Mason went all day yesterday without one and so far today - nothing.

esarah
09-01-2006, 01:37 PM
Michelle- Leata did that sometimes. I think she started at about 2 weeks old. I think that it is ok if he is breastfeeding but since he has been losing weight you may want to check with your doctor just in case. It's a long weekend so I would call the doc today.

mara232
09-01-2006, 02:41 PM
Michelle - it happened to us but he more than made up for it the next day. As long as the diapers are wet and plentiful (at least 6 a day) you are okay. You should visit www.kellymom.com I found it to be the absolute BEST for breastfeeding moms! I LOVE it - it helped me with somany things - check it out!!

LM sorry you had a rough night. Did Lucy end up doing ok today without going to school? Can't believe you already have your Halloween stuff up. With the peeing... are ya pregnant?

Mara and Jamie I absolutely don't know how you working (outside the home) moms do it with babies that don't sleep. I've been pretty fortunate with Arianna (knock on wood). I don't function well with her sleeping good let alone if she didn't. Maybe (hopefully) it will improve soon.

Mara congrats on the 10 lbs lost. I have trouble getting Arianna to drink when she is teething (other time too but it's worse when she's teething). I also have problems when she has an ear infection. Did they check his ears the other day? Also, are you offically TTC now that it is September?

Sarah, I would insist that your doctor figure out what's going on with Leata. She's so tiny anyway. If she doesn't eat she'll waste away. Hopefully you know more after your appointment today.

Leanna sounds like you were a kiddo sandwich last night.

Tracy enjoy your trip and the game.

Terra Arianna is still stuffed up. At this point it either has to be teeth or allergies. Do you think Piper might have allergies?

Michele BFed babies can go several days without a poopy diaper.

Corinna I saw on the August thread where you said you started scrapbooking. I scrapbook. I did my entire pregnancy month to month. I am doing Arianna's first year month to month. After the first year it will only be special occassions and holidays. I do it during my lunch hour at work. Otherwise I'd never be able to work on it. During my pregnancy I was able to keep up with it. At this point I'm nine months behind on Arianna.

It's funny how bfing moms think that there isn't support for bfing. As a formula feeding mom I feel like there is no support for that. When we first HAD to switch to formula I was SO embarassed to get a bottle out and mix the formula in public (actually still hate to do it). I just felt like people were thinking "well why isn't she bfing". Maybe that was just me though since I was so disappointed that the bfing didn't work for us. Oh well, we all have to do what is best for us and our babies.

Hope everyone has a great long weekend if you have one. I am so looking forward to it!

JAMIE

Leslie - I scrapbook too! I'm now 5 1/2 months behind...note Aiden's 5 1/2 months old...ha ha!! I did the pregnancy book too - I'm hoping to get to do some pages this weekend - I can't do it during lunch b/c I teach aerobics and the evenings are a joke so it's supposed to rain here all weekend so I'm hoping to get some done?

Hope everyone has a wonderful LONG weekend :D

Leslie
09-01-2006, 04:03 PM
Jamie I should do aerobics on my lunch hour, but I have no place to do them. We are doing remodeling in our building and supposedly they are going to put exercise equipment downstairs. If they do that I will spend some of my lunch hours exercising. When I'm not doing that or going to see Arianna at lunch I will scrapbook.

We leave for the beach in two weeks, so I'm going to take my stuff with me. I figure while Arianna is napping and when she goes down for the night I can scrapbook. It won't be like home when she's sleeping needing to get things done around the house, so hopefully I will be able to do some catching up.

Hey mommies, just lurking from the pg board. I'll be here soon and can't wait! I finally got an induction date of 9/7 so unless I go on my own see you then! One quick note:

I am now doing the whole due dates and new babies thing and started putting it on the monthly posts. I would like to keep 3 months worth of new babies on the list. However, since I started last month I don't know anyone who had babies in July. Can you please PM me and tell me your info so I can add you to the list, if you want to be added that is. Thanks in advance. The info I'm posting is... your name (duh!) and baby's name, gender, date and time of birth, hrs of labor or via c-sec, weight and length. Also, any August mommies I may have missed (so sorry!) please PM me also.

Time for bed yet???? Waiting on dh to get out of the shower so I can get mine...we have two bathroom..but I just wait on ours. lol

Not much goin on here. Girls are in bed. Yippy! Now Im too tired to stay up and enjoy me time.

Leslie-Yeah I took Lucys mind off of school by getting out her playdoh and playing hungry hungry hippos with her. lol Hows your babydoll???

Jaime&Leslie-I bought a bunch of scrapbooking stuff for Lucy and only have three pages done...I cant find the time to do it. I hate dragging everything out and then putting it right away. I know my girls would love to have one when they get older but I just dont know how to find time to do it. Maybe I'll try to think of ways to find time.

Leanna-I just read you were up with your kids on Thursday night too. What the hell???? Mine were up too. Porkchop ended up in bed with us. Lucy just wanted up. lol Whew and we want a third baby??? WE are goin to have to get super king sized beds! lol

No big plans for this weekend. We are goin down to my parents house. Then I dont know what. SLeep sounds good to me. hehe

By the way...I love this fall weather thats popped in on us. I LOVE FALL! Hope its a nice one

Oh yeah...Ive been having this problem with Porkchop. Ive been giving her a thing of cereal in the morning with her bottle...then she has lunch with a fruit and bottle..then dinner..a veggie and a bottle..then a bottle before night night. She has been playing with the bottle. It takes her FOREVER to eat it. And she is fidgity the whole time I give it to her. Ive tried different nipple sizes and flows and nada!
So I remember Terra I think saying something about getting the sippy cups with the handles that are soft tipped. I got her one tongiht and as soon as I gave it to her she went to town on it. LOL SHe loved it. She drank more out of that than the bottle...I think just because she liked the cup. I might cut back her lunch fruit or something to see if she takes for formula. She isnt starving by any means. lol

Went to the doctor. Leata was 18 pounds. She is staying pretty close to her growth pattern so the doctor isn't too worried. He said that her being sick is most likely what caused her to lose weight and not want to eat and as she starts to feel better she will hopefully start eating and gaining again. She has not grown much in length. Actually, it seems to me that she is shorter then she was last appt. I think it is so hard to measure a little one. He said that he wanted to see what her height is at 18 months and hopefully things will have evened out a little, if not we will talk more about it then. He said if she doesn't start eating again soon or doesn't seem to be gaining weight bring her right in. He said, as always, that we can bring her in to get weighed, any time we would like, for free. She is doing really well developmentally though. She is ahead in talking. She's right where she should be with walking. She seemed to be on the mark with everything.

I asked about my numbness in my face. He said it could be sinus stuff or Bell's Palsy. He said it could be Multiple Sclerosis which could explain a lot of my illness lately. I am just praying it's not MS. Hopefully we can figure it out.

OK, well, that was interrupted by Leata falling off the bed head first. I need to get a few more things done before I go to bed.

Have a great weekend!

Sarah~ I had bells palsey when I was pregnant with Hannah. Its caused by the same virus as chicken pox/herpes all in the same class. I went to take a nap and when I woke up the whole left side of my face was numb but I never got feeling by morning I could see partial drooping of my eye and mouth. No one else saw it really but I knew it was there. I had to take and antiviral drug and a steroid which was horrible being pregnant but it worked and I have no residual problems but the key is to catch it early so if that is what it is tell him to start you on meds right away. Is your face numb or droopy looking? My doc told me the best way to diagnose was to lean your head back and close your eyes. have someone look at your eye on the side affected you won't be able to close it all the way no matter how hard you try. YOU will think it is closed but its not. Basically it takes awhile for the nerve to regenerate. I can even begin to imagine how scary it would be to hear your doc say MS but that seems fairly radical and eventhough you have been sick lately I think it is more from your kidney stone and such something so serious. At least he is looking into it and taking you seriously. As for Leata she is the same as Hannah but we had health issues/prematurity. When she would dip on weight or not eat well in the course of a day I would supplement her with the Pediasure drinks. One maybe two depending on well she ate that day. Like Hannah has eaten like a pig for 3 days and yesterday she didn't eat even like 2 bites of her lunch so I gave her one to basically replace that meal. She is about 30# and 3 years old but tall like 38". Need to get a current check. She stay in the 17# range from like 15 months to 19 months. And most kids are 20# at 12 months. My doctor always told me as long as she is going up in the charts no matter how little it is fine. So Hannah has always been in the low 10=30th percentile but is healthy as a horse. When she had her ileostomy we had to find ways to add in calories since she wouldn't eat alot. The nutritionist told us use additives to food. Like in mashed potatoes use whipping cream instead of milk and add a teaspoon of butter to her portion. Or add parmesean cheese sprinkles to veggies/meats/pastas for the added calories. I didn't like adding some of the butter and stuff because I was afraid she'd be so used to it I'd have trouble breaking her later but she rarely eats butter on anything she didn't develop any bad eating habits so if it adds in some calories then go for it. Obviously you can't overdo otherwise your kid will weigh 50# in no time ha ha.

I have a question for all you experienced mommies...Kally went from eating everything, biter bars, baby crackers, cookies, to in one day, choking on everything thats not more liquidy. Last night she started choking on her food, and since then, she keeps choking on everything that she could hold to eat. Whats up with that? The little baby crackers, she chokes....Little biter bars, she chokes.....I dont get it?!?!

Tracy~ Could she maybe have a sore throat that is irritating her? Or maybe getting dried out like if you have turned on your heat not enough humity? Does she cough with applesauce/yogurt smooth items? Its unusual to suddenly develop a problem with textures if she hasn't in the past. Or did she get more teeth and is breaking off bigger pieces she isn't used to? Unless she is doing it for attention like hey mom look at me I am choking. Hannah did that for awhile sneezing now we just ignore the fake ones and she doesn't think it is that fun of a game.

TracyR-Dont know what to tell you...never heard of that before.

Sarah-Hopefully doc can figure out whats wrong.

Karen, no she is fine with applesauce and other liquidy type baby food. Its just the solid food. She has not been sick, and has three teeth, same as before. I just dont know. I will call the doctor on Tuesday if she is still doing it.

esarah
09-02-2006, 05:08 PM
Tracy- Leata went through a phase like that with solids not too long ago so she was a bit older then Kally is. We never really figured out why she was choking but the doctor told us to keep giving her small pieces of solid food so that she wouldn't hurt herself but so that she didn't get used to not having solids anymore. It just kind of worked itself out though. I wish I had something to tell you to do to help. I hope she gets over it quickly.

She actually choked on something during church last Sunday and I had to run her out into the foyer and pound on her back to get it out. Everyone was really worried about her since she was turning purple. She was fine though.

Hey girls! How was everyone's weekend? DH's reunion is over (whew!!!) and it went really well. However, we got home and Emily has had two really really loose BM's. Not quite yet the runs, but almost (SORRY - TMI). And she is cranky. She had major gas, too. Of course, DH gave her some chicken and dumplins (I did not stop him, so it is my fault, too) It was just some of the gravy, just a tiny bit, but evidently it was enough to make her sick. I am praying she is not coming down w/a stomach virus. Just suffering from her parent's stupidity.

Anyhoo......

Lisamarie - what is going on? Hope that you and the girls are okay

Tracy - Hi - how is the solid food issue going?

#2 - Hi!!!

Sarah - I hope you are feeling better.

Leslie - I want to go to the beach so bad! It was 50* here this morning. Brrrr.....Hope your vac preparations go smoothly.

Hello chickadees!

Went to moms on Sunday morning. What a trip. lol Got into it with my dad(which I havent done since highschool..seriously). Then permed moms hair. Then Porkchop was up screaming 6-7 times that ngiht. Which she has never done that since shes been born. So I told Tim we all just needed to go..I only had three hours of sleep and I wanted to get home and get her home. So she only had one crying fit on the way home. So I gave her a bath right when we got in and fed her. And she started the screamin again..she wouldnt even hardly eat her bottle. Then I was goin through our meds cabinet and seen ear drops that we had filled for LUcy last time when she had an earache. So we tried those and when I put drops in the second ear she SCREAMED. But a few minutes later she was out of it sleeping. So Im taking it she has an ear infection in that ear. Im gonna use the drops till I can get her in tomorrow..which Im sure thats all they will give us anyways..thats all they ever give Lucy.
So that may be why she hasnt been interested in her bottles. Hmmp.

Krissy-Hey chic! im here! Glad you guys had a good time at the reunion. Like the new ticker picture~

OMG.....I almost cried when I found out the Steve Croc guy died! How horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Makes me ill.

Hope you all are havin a good ol' time this labor day! Mine sucked! But hey....everyday cant be a good day right????? hehe

Hi Mamas!!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend...mine was unfortunately awful! Aiden started in with sickness on Fri and it only got worse...by Sat. evening we were in the emergency room b/c he couldn't keep anything down. They hooked him up to an i.v. which was horrible b/c his veins kept rolling and he was not a happy camper - I was in tears! Then after they ran some tests on his belly they thought it was just his reflux acting up and they called his G.I. Specialist who told me to thicken all of his feedings & call back on Tues with progress...well by Sun a.m. he got a fever & then diarhea on top of the vomitting so I then knew it wasn't his reflux but a bug well by yesterday he was starting to vomit less and more solid stools and so far so good this morning. I'm at work today b/c he seems more like himself today but what a long horrible weekend for the little guy!!

Sarah - I hope you are feeling better and figure out what is going on... (hugs)

Hi to everyone else! Not much new! Anthony is feeling better! MUCH better! I caught him standing on the bumper pads ready to leap out - so those are out now too. DH made me put them in so that A would not bump his head. It was a huge arguement between us.

Good week ladies!

Jamie- Sorry to hear about Aiden! There's nothing worse than watching your child go throuigh pain and feel so helpless..((hugs)).

Mara- The thought of Anthony being Aiden's age and doing that made me laugh but also think, WOW! I better keeep an eye on my guy as well! I'm pretty impressed w/ his strength in his ability to pull himself up to stand already!

Well we went to the, "Vermont Fair", yesterday and it wasn't too bad but wow, did we blow through some money fast! I went to my docs on Friday and we ran another thyroid test in order to see how the Synthroid has worked and it was down to 4.9 from 16.78!!! :D :D :D He wants it down in the 2's though, so I'll be staying on the same high dose for another 2 months before rechecking it again....didn't lose a single pound either!!! :x  Didn't gain thank God though! I do start at the gym tomorrow!!!! YEAY!!! :D I CANNOT wait! Gavynne began her first day today and was VERY nervous! She did well though after seeing a few old friends from last year, and before ya knew it she was running around w/ everyone. They have an opening ceremony on the first day of school there so Aiden and I spent most of our morning there with her. Got lots of "first day pics" (for all you scrapbookers!) Well Aiden's napping now and I'm going to catch up on some z's as well. Aiden was up 3 times last night  Needless to say....I'm pooped! I'm really excited about getting on this new schedule w/ my mornings at the gym! :D My hopes are high for getting this weight off....I ran into one of Gavynne's classmates moms' this morning at the ceremony who was pregnant at the same time as me. She was 4 months ahead...she has 4 children all together and skinny as a rail! I really tried to react perspectively..but it was hard  Oh well! Off to sleepy land! Have a great day girls!

P.s. For all you night hawks w/ defiant nocturnal children, (such as myself) my doc mentioned on Friday that he felt that I wasn't getting enough of the "deeper sleep", the "RM", sleep and that it could be significantly effecting my health w/ the thyroid issues as well as being able to lose weight. He gave me a prescription for a non-addicting sleep aid called Amnitriptaline in order for my body to play "catch-up" on the deeper sleep as well as allow myself to get enough of it regularly, at least untill Aiden wakes less during the night...I can take it while nursing and he compared it to the effectiveness of Benadryl but w/out the drowsiness in the morning. Although, he said I might be for the first couple of weeks while my body plays catch up. I don't know about you girls but I wake at the drop of a tissue, and because of that, I'm not really sleeping "thoroughly"...make sense? anyway, I thought I'd pass that bit of info onto you all knowing that many of you are experiencing the same thing.

No time for personals right now but I hope that everyone is doing ok.
Leata is still sick! She had a fever last night and then woke up in the middle of the night and it was 103.7. She is just miserable. She also has been really, really thirsty lately. She will scream if we don't give her water all of the time. I am so concerned she is developing type 1 diabetes. I took her blood sugar last night and it was 191. The doctor said for a non-fasting blood sugar it has to be 200 or higher for them to think it is diabetes but 191 is close. He told us to go ahead and take a fasting blood sugar on her and then call with the results. He couldn't find any infection that would be causing her fever. She has been on antibiotics for the UTI and a test for the UTI came back negative today so they are working on that. We are just confused right now. She has been sick for a couple of weeks now and she is getting worse and all the doctor can say is to watch her and give her tylenol and bring her in if she gets worse. We keep bringing her in because she is worse but he can't find anything! It's too frustrating.

Hey Ladies!!

Hope everyone had a good (long) weekend. We had a great time (and won our game) in Tennessee. Must do that again this fall!!

I don't have too much time -- a lot of work piled up over the weekend  , but wanted to pop in and say HI.

Sarah -- I'm so sorry about your's and Leata's health-issues. I hope you're wrong about her developing diabetes, but am so glad you're knowledgable enough to keep an eye on her and report symptoms to the doctor. Best wishes!!

Hello to everyone else :D

Hello Ladies,

LisaMarie: Wow, you're really going through it with two sick kids who won't sleep - yucko! Hope everyone's well soon. Did you make it to the festival?

Sarah: I am so sorry that Leata has been so sick - poor baby!!! I have a friend who's daughter is 20months old and only weighs 20lbs. - she's just a little munchkin, but perfectly healthy - no one is worried about failure to thrive or anything like that. Some kids are just small. So, I hope that's the case with Leata and not something health-related.

Terra: Is Piper well yet?

Mara: Glad Anthony is feeling better. He sounds like he'a little monkey!

Leslie: Hi!

Corinna: Your TSH was 16.78?!?!?!?! You must have felt like CRAP! What dose of synthroid are you taking? Let me know how the sleep med works. I have the same problem, and have been taking Benadryl at night so I can fall asleep - I get so wound up. I thought about a sleep aid, but was worried b/c of the breast-feeding and also I can't stand to be groggy in the morning.

Lovebug: Glad you had fun at the family reunion. Hope your little kidlet feels better soon.

Jamie: Wow! That sucks about Aiden getting so sick!!! I really hope he's better now.

Well, I got crazy this weekend and decided that Henry should start sleeping in his crib. (He has been sleeping in a Pac-n-play next to my side of the bed since we came home.) I brought his crib into our room and moved his Pac-n-play into the nursery thinking that he could nap in there and start getting used to a new room while still having someting familer. I have no idea why I decided to do this just when he started his new dose of zantac and hadn't been sleeping for a couple of weeks (just when I was DESPERATE for sleep and wanted to catch up over the long weekend.) Well, turns out Henry HATES his crib. We tried for two nights, and he would scream everytime I tried to lay him in it, and then when I could finally lay him down without waking him he was waking up and realizing where he was and screaming bloody murder every hour all night. Yikes! I finally decided I didn't need to be a control freak with a six month old - he's letting me know he doesn't like it and I should probably listen! So, we moved his Pac-n-play back into our room (but not next to the bed anymore, I need a little space.) and he did much better. (but not great at first, he was still traumatized from the experiement - lol.) Last night he slept great (Yay! I think the new dose of zantac is also kicking in.) Now, just a couple more nights like that and I'll be back in the saddle again!
Whew, that was long...

Have a great Tuesday - and all you working moms, hope you can get into the groove after a long weekend!

Hey girls.....

busy day so far.

Just got back from the store. Dh stayed home sick today. So Lucy and I went and got grocery shopping done. Then went to big lots. They had the exact same carseat Lucy has but in a different color 80 bucks less than what we paid. So I got that for Porkchop. Dont really like the colors but who cares. Then went to Fashion Bug to find me some bras and couldnt find sqwat. Why in the sam hell do they make plus size bras with big cups like DD or DDD in PADDED bras????? WTF??? So I didnt get any.

Corinna-When did you put your Halloween ticker up???? LOL! Now I dont feel like the only nut job for putting one up early! LOL!
Yeah on starting the gym! Woohoo! YOU rockin mama! Y ou'll be built like a brick sh!thouse in no time!

Kirsten-No we didnt get to go to the festival. Hows it goin??? Love that baby boy of yours..too cute!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My family is goin bonkers! Tim fighting with Lucy to pick her toys up! porkchop yelling because she is hungry and sees dh eating fries! UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG..>I gotta goooooooooo!

Sarah - I'm so sorry!! It's so hard when they can't tell you what's wrong - hopefully they'll find out exactly what's going on soon!! It can be soooo frustrating when everything you try doesn't work. I can relate to having a baby with lots of health issues and it's very tiring!

Kirsten - oh girlie girl I remember the fun days of transitioning into the crib...I refer to it as hell week! It took us a good week to get Aiden to like his crib and still to this day he cries almost every time we put him in it. You gotta do what makes you feel more comfortable and maybe if you expose him here & there like you said to take naps he'll get used to it and then do better at night for you? It's hard that's for sure! I'd also let him play in there while he's awake...I found this monkey toy with a mirror on it and Aiden just loves it - it keeps him entertained for a few minutes then he zonks out (for daytime naps anyways) just a thought?

Lisa - today is not your day...how about I come over and we can drink Smirnoff's...just love those black cherry ones! Ok yeah that's right you're not drinking beer anymore but these are soooo yummy! After my weekend I could use a nice drink

Hope everyone has a great night...talk to ya'll tomorrow

Good even'in girls! Gavynne's first day went GREAT! I'm so pleased! She loves her teacher! and I Have gotten to know her personally as well and she has a wonderful personality :D ...We had a REALLY tough time w/ Gavs' teacher last year..let's just say that she wouldn't have to necessarily dress up for Halloween.... Anyway! Threw a pot roast in the oven and now we're off to karate class! I cannot express how much happier I am now that we're back to a schedule! Have a great even'n girls!

Kirsten- I have a latex allergy, so I'm waiting for the pharmacy to call the company that makes Amnytriptaline just to make sure that there isn't any latex in the capsule...scarry huh? That meds could be made of latex?? I'll let you know how it goes as I take it. As for the thyroid...isn't that CRAZY??? I knew something was seriously wrong but the symptoms ranged so closely to post partum depression and post hormonal pregnancy wackyness that I thought that it might of been just that....anyway, I'm glad I had EVERYTHING paneled and found that there actually was a problem. I'm on .50mcg of Synthroid, which is a high dose but will re-evaluate the dosage w/ time and results once my thyroid gains some balance. Sorry to hear about Henry, that sounds like a nightmare! poor baby! :( and poor you!

sarah- Sorry to hear about Leata...your doing a great job mom!!! hang in there!

well, gotta run! Bye! :D

Corrina - 16?? OMG - Mine was at 5 and I felt like utter CRAP. When you get it down to 1-2 you will feel like a million bucks!!!

Lisa - Ahhh..one reason that I am not going on met again. I couldn't handle it. I was throwing up as well. For me - I can control PCOS symptoms with diet. I have in teh past and I just need to go ahead and DO IT. I can't ever do the drugs again. I wish they didn't affect me so bad - just thinking about it make sme sick. Good Luck!!

Hanna - yay on your new BF! Take things slow so you don't get too overwhelmed!! yay Cohen!

Anthony slep tat my moms last night - we went to pick him up at 4pm and he had fallen asleep. So we left him there. No point in bringing him back in the am. He is 8 months today!! Where did the time go????

09-06-2006, 08:56 AM
Yes, Hannah -- post pics of you and new hottie. I bet you're a gorgeous couple!!

Lisa -- so sorry about your "bottom!!". I never had that with met, but then again, I don't think met did much for me. Have been taking cinnamon for a few weeks now and I'm happy with it. On bcp, it's hard to tell if it's helping to regulate my cycle; but my skin looks good and that was about my only other symptom. Hope you get over the "skitters" soon!!

Hopefully everyone else (and the babies) are feeling well, too. A lot of folks around here have been getting the "back to school" colds. Luckily, we've been skipped so far!!

Lots going on here, though:

We're headed to Memphis this weekend. Remember my BF who DIDN'T want me to throw her a baby-shower. Well, we got an invitation last week to a "luncheon" for her. With presents. Hello -- that's a shower  . Anyways, her husband is grilling and we're having the "event" in their backyard. Not sure I would've trusted my husband to throw me a "shower" (he'd have made it like a Star Wars theme  !!); but her's is doing pretty well. At this point, I just want to get there, have fun and get home.

DH's birthday is Monday. Yep, 9/11. It's not a great birthday anymore, but we try to celebrate and enjoy. Will probably make him bourbon chicken and a small cake. Maybe another r2d2!!

I have an old car to get rid of. It's in pretty bad shape (needs a few major items), so we think we're going to donate it. To none other than PCOSA. I have to look into the details, but won't that be a good cause!?!

I was reading Better Homes & Gardens (okay -- just looking at pictures) and saw this article about vasectomies. I had no idea. Wanted to share it, in case anybody is looking into that option for long-term birth control after having all of their kidlets (thanks -- I love that word). Let's see:

If your husband has recently undergone a vasectomy, make sure he goes for the follow up tests at 8 and 12 weeks. A study found that only 21% of men surveyed made it to both visits. Unless you're ready for more kids, that's a risky practice because vasectomies can take MONTHS to become fully effective. And a number of the procedures FAIL altogether.

I had no idea -- what a surprise that would be!!

Okay -- this random email is long enough. Gotta run...

Tracy - I just had a friend that got pg after her husbands vas...apparently the Dr. forgot to mention that they were supposed to use additional protection for a year after his surgery...oopsie daisy

DH has a friend who's wife is pregnant 9 years after his vasectomy. Apparently, it never took!?! Dunno -- but, boy are they surprised  They'll have a 13 y/o, 11 y/o and a newborn. Oops.

I'd try #2 now. If he's doing well with #1, he should be ready to try #2. There's no real difference, other than size. I think the bigger difference comes with the #3s (they have small chunks). Congrats on having such a good eater!!

I do love those Smirnoff drinks, too. And, I don't really care for vodka, usually. Anytime you need to share one, let me know. I bet we can talk Lisa into one, too

Tracy - Awww..how sweet! You'll actually *make* him an R2D2 cake!? Now that is love!!! :) Have fun in memphis!

Jamie - I tried getting A to take stage 2 and he hated it. It was chicken and pears. I really think he hated the texture. I tried it and it was gritty-like - I am not suprised he didn't like it. A friend of mine at work bough me a whole box of stage 2 as his daughter is done with it. So just trying to get him to try it. I guess you can try and see if he likes it.

I don't do much baking, but this is so special to him. The other neat thing is that the pan is from the original tri-series (my mom got it to make my brother cakes as a kid), so it's "well worn". I think the date on it is 1982.

Morning Ladies!

I am soooo tired! I think Gabi is going thru another growth spurt because she was up last night every 2 hours fo a feeding! She was weighed yesterday at the pedi and she is up to 8lbs 6ozs! Just two weeks ago she was 7lbs 2ozs! So pedi is really happy about that!
But man we suspect she is beginning to be colicky!!! NOT FUN!!!!
She refuses to go sleep during the day! This doesnt seem normal for a 1 month old! The most she will slep is 20 mins here and tehre and only if someone is holding her! It makes it very hard to do anything and just makes me even more tired. Oh well they say she will grow out of this! I hope they are right!!!

Tracy: That cake looks awesome!!

Lisa: Sorry about your bum! I remember that feeling when i first started met! Not looking forward to that when I stop breastfeeding! But I got a while to go.

Hannah: Post that pic! I am glad you found someone who is treating you well! Good luck!

Kelli: I was wondering about Misty as well! I don't think I have ever seen her post on the mom's board yet. Gavin is teething already? When does that usually start?

Corrina: Glad Gavynne's first day of school went well!

Kristen: Good luck with the transition. I am not looking forward to that day! I have not really even thought about when I will try to make that switch. But since she still wakes up every 2-3 hrs to eat it wont be anytime soon!!

Wow it's not easy to type and hold a baby! Well I got to run she fell asleep lets see if i put her down in the pack and play she will fall asleep!

Not sure if any of you ever frequent the consumer recall site http://www.cpsc.gov/. I usually do and just found that a toy A has been playing with has been recalled for "choking hazard". Funny think..so mom instinct..I thought the parts could maybe come off (tires on a plush car) so I only let him play with it while supervised. Anyway - left a message with the company I guess they are replacing with a free toy - works for me.

Thanks everyone for all of your kind thoughts. Leata still has a really high fever when the tylenol wears off but her blood sugar was in the normal range for a fasting blood sugar this morning so we are just going to keep watching her. She is really miserable and is sleeping most of the time. If her fever is still over 102 tomorrow we have to bring her in AGAIN... If we do that though I think that we will bring her in to the walk in clinic tomorrow night and hope that it is a different doctor then her own there that night. I would just like to get another opinion.

I will try and do personals later but I can hear Leata moaning in the other room so I better go and check on her.

Hello girls..........

Took Lucy to school this morning and then Porkchop to the doc. SHe is doin good...weighs 17lbs11oz. 26 inches long. Blah blah. SHe DOES have an ear infection...they gave her meds for that. SHe is fussy.
I gave her double her dose of meds by accident and had to call the pharmacy I was freakin out. They said thats fine...and actually back in the day they say to give a double dose the first day. So I was relieved.
Come home to a filthy house. I mean I cannot believe this is my home..I truely cant. I have had NO energy for days. So I have to get somethign done once I post this.

Tracy and Jaime-Oh hell girls..lets go boozin it up...Im up for it! I'll do beer...dont relaly like smirnoffs....I can handle the beer if I gots me a ciggy in my hand. LOL! But its been two months since Ive had one of those.

Jaime-Porkchop is on #2 Foods and loves them.

Tracy-Love the cake. This is how ignorant I am. I kept saying..what the hell is R2D2..till I seen the f-in cake! LOL! you did a great job.

Mara-Hey lady!

Leanna-Where you at?

Tracy/TracyR-Now you two better behave. lol I always wondered when folks met on here in person...what the hell do you say? Lol I mean ....is it like.."uh..hi...Im Lisa...I talk to you on the computer". lol I think it would be sooooooo werid. lol Although I hope to meet up with Terra and Leanna someday....when I lose some damn weight! Kirsten- Hank is just such a little cutie! Getting so big. Love the little halloween outfit.

Hannah- Can't wait to see pics of you and your new flame! :)

Lisa- Hope you get adjusted to that Met quickly. Brings back painful memories!

Mara- Hey chica! I haven't delayed Jack's vaccines. I delayed Bonnie's Chicken Pox until right before she started school. Really wanted her to catch them on her own but it's required before starting. Are you delaying Anthony's?

Sarah- I hope Leata is feeling better very soon.

Tracy & Tracy- That's awesome that you guys might meet up! Make sure someone takes a pic to prove there really are two of you.

Bella- Hi there!

Michelle- How's Mason treating you? Hope your weekend went well!

Leslie- How are you and Arianna?

Corinna- I'm glad you like Gavynne's teacher... we love Bonnie's teacher. One of the main reasons we won't transfer her when we move. Will probably switch schools over the summer though.

Haven't been able to keep up with reading all these posts. Hi to everyone! Bonnie had her first ear infection yesterday. She was fine in the morning but her teacher called mid-morning and said she had complained about her ears a couple of times. I checked her out early and took her to the doctor's and it was infected. We caught it before it got too bad though... today she was back to 100% and went back to school. It's been a long few weeks and I am just ready to be in the new house and done with everything! We're getting stuff packed up but will still be a couple weeks before we have possession. Don't like this limbo stuff. Hope you all have a nice evening!

I just got caught up on all the posts, I'll never get to personals. As soon as we get a routine down better I'll be back to posting like regular. Short update: took Mason back to the lactation consultant on Saturday and he had gained 5 ounces since we first saw her on Thursday. YEAH!!! I kept up the feeding routine and the pumping and we went back to weigh on Tuesday and he gained a little over 7 ounces!!!! So he's past his birth weight and just shy of 9 pounds, had he waited to dirty that diaper until after he was weighed he would have made 9 pounds, hehehe. The lc told me I could back off a bit on the feedings. Instead of waking him EVERY 2-3 hrs round the clock, I've been making sure he gets fed every 3 hours during the day and letting it go a bit longer at night, letting him make more of the call. Tommorow we go back to the dr. so hopefully he has a good visit.

Hope everyone had a great weekend, will catch up asap. Gotta go, got to pay some bills!

Thanks TracyR - Yup, she's a cutie - definitely Gavin's hair-twin! lol.

LisaMarie, Tracy & Jamie - Don't you all go having drinks without me! I want you all to come visit me, we'll get baby-sitters and I'll take you to my favorite bar in Santa Cruz and we'll get tipsy on cosmos and then go to the beach!

LisaMarie: you can live a couple days in a dirty house - go get some sleep!

Bella: I know it's impossible to imagine, but you can survive colic! (I still have battle wounds, but I'm alive to assure you.) And I gave up on crib transition after two days. I'm too old for this...

Leanna: Sorry to hear about Bonnie's ear-infection. Glad you caught it eearly. I want to see some pics of Jack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Michele: I am so glad to hear about the LC and baby's weight gain!!! That is great news! I've had Hank nearly seven months and I still can't keep up wiht posts - no pressure.

Mara: Hi there!

Okay gals, have a great Wednesday!

I was going to try to put Leata in her crib sometime around six months. Before that she was sleeping in our room in the pack and play. Right around the time I planned on putting her in her crib she ended up in the hospital because of severe reflux that was causing her to choke and turn blue at night. After that I did not want to put her in her own room for a long time. I thought that when we finally decided to put her in her own room in her crib it was going to be a really hard transition. For the last few months I put her in her crib at nap time. In the last week and a half she has been sleeping in her crib in her room. She has done great! I thought for sure since she is older that she would really struggle but she is doing great! I guess what I am saying is if you are ok with them in the pack and play in your room go ahead and do it for as long as you need to. Leata has done great at 15 months, transitioning to her own room.

Yah, after two nights of trouble I decided to let it go. I figure he'll do it when he's ready. He's just letting me know he's not ready yet. (even though I am - lol!)
But I did move his Pac-n-Play down to the foot of the bed, so he's not right next to me, and I'm already sleeping better.
He seems to be doing better too because when he wakes up now he stays in there and laughs and talks to himself until I get him. He used to wake up and start to scream, and now I think that's because he could see me.

Even'in ladies! :D

mara- I have delayed Aidens Hep-B shots and both kids w/ their chicken pox. My state has recently added the Hep-B in w/ the DTaP shots as a combo of 5 now  That's just plane crazy to expose an infant w/ all those viruses at once! That's not normal for our bodies let alone an infant! Why expose him to one more vaccination than he has to. Now they are linking certain vaccinations w/ ADD/ADHD...so this is a tough subject for me. I made my decisions while going through nursing school. Unless infants/young children are exposed to body fluids somehow than they are not subject to contracting Hep-B. That type of vaccination is more appropriate for pre-teen yrs and up, when sexual behaviors cause more of a risk. They just want to mix it in w/ the other vacc's so that more children are "proofed" and because so many parents won't bring them back when the children become of age, the medical field feels that it's safer to give this to them now to save an outbreak in the future...and I understand that theory. But I am a competent parent and will do this in the right time and that time is not now. However, in all reality, if your child goes to daycare or is in a situation where they might be exposed to Hep-B somehow, then by all means...furthermore, vaccinations are the most effective for only so long after initially giving them...12 yrs down the road...how effective is the Hep-B shot really going to be? Aiden stays at home w/ me so....that is why I have them separate them. My pedi knows of one case of a child contracting Hep-B and that was because she was molested. She was four yrs old. I decided against the chicken pox because when exposed to it your also exposed to the possibility of later developing shingles as an adult vs if you have never had them.....I kinda wanted Gav to contract them on her own, less risk of re-contracting them vs vaccination, but she hasn't as of yet. Now that she's getting older and the risks of contracting them when older is much more harmful, I'm thinking about having her done soon. Yet after i rambled on and on about this I neglected to say that I had Gavynne immunized w/ Hep-B beginning at the hospital unfortunately....but I was much more ignorant to all this....so I decided to do things differently w/ Aiden...one of those, "Things I regret doing as a parent" I guess. Sorry for the short novel!
Have a great night ladies! My pharmacist came back w/ the clear on the Amnytriptaline so here goes noth'in!....well...hopefully something!

Oh! I did my first day at the gym daycare today...to be honest after 3 1/2 hrs of scream'in wild kids all I wanted to do was get the hell out of their! So, I think I won't be do'in the gym thing on Thursdays which is the day I'm scheduled for. Aiden had it by then also! A little too much action for the poor little guy and BOY are they a fiesty group of kids!!! I had to block Aiden away from them all!

Hey girls. I'm behind. The last time I read was Tuesday around 5:00 EST. I don't have time to catch up right now, but was wondering what is it with all these sick babies?

We ended up having to take Arianna to the ER in the middle of the night last night (Tuesday/Wednesday night/morning). She was really cranky yesterday evening. I just thought maybe it was those top two teeth that still haven't made it threw. She didn't eat her super well either. At 8:00 I sat down with her to give her a bottle and see if she wanted to go to sleep. She took 2 oz and was out like a light. I thought she felt a little warm, but again I chalked that up to the teeth. When I went to bed I actually prayed that if she was really sick that she would wake me in the middle of the night. Well, at 12:55 she started screaming. It wasn't an I want to be picked up scream. I went in and picked her up, and she was burning up. I took her temp rectally and it was 103.8. When I said that DH went running to get a wet washcloth and the Tylenol. We gave her the Tylenol, I got dressed and we headed to the ER. I rode in the back and kept the wet washcloth on her abdomin. When we got to the ER the temp was down to 102.8, they gave her a big dose of Motrin (bigger than I would have given her and took us right back. She had been screaming since we woke up at 12:55. Finally after the Motrin kicked in she settle some. They did blood work, urinalysis and a chest xray. All those came back normal. They went ahead and gave her a shot of antibiotics, because they knew something had to be going on. Once her temp came down to normal they let us go home. We got home about 4:00 am, but I could not get Arianna to lay down in her crib. I totally do not like to put her in the bed, but I finally gave in. Then I didn't sleep for fear of rolling over on her. Oh well, at least she slept some. We to follow up today with her ped. She is going to get copies of the blood work and urinalysis. She also going to see if they were watching a sample to see if anything grew. We are alternating Tylenol and Motrin and the fever has stayed down today, but she's been EXTREMELY crabby. She's just not like that, so I know she still isn't feeling good. Hopefully tomorrow is better.

Well, I started this post at 5:00 pm and it's now 8:30 pm. It's been a long evening. I hope all the other sick kiddies are feeling better.

kirsten

Leslie: How terrifying! Gosh, it seems like everyone takes their kid to the ER at some point, huh? Hope I can handle it when it's our turn. I'm glad Arinanna is feeling better and the tests came back normal.

Corinna: I couldn't agree with you more about the HepB vax. We skipped it. We've been doing slow vax and found a ped who supports that. He had his first shots last week at six months old - we did HIB and polio. We'll do the dtp next month.

Oh! And I wanted to share with the thyroid ladies my record TSH - the day I was induced my TSH was 47.7 (they couldn't believe I wasn't comatose) and my blood pressure was 116/179 (they also couldn't believe I wasn't having a stroke.) I'm all back to normal now. The funny thing is - that day I interviewed two gals, took a two hour break for a quick visit with a new primary-care doctor, and had another interview scheduled - ha! - the new primary-care doc (poor lady...) sent me straight to the hospital where I was induced two hours later.

Leslie- Leata has had the same problem. He fever got up to 103.7 Monday night/ tuesday morning and she woke up screaming. I gave her some tylenol and her fever went down some so we slept and called the doctor first thing in the morning on Tuesday. They got us a 1030 appt. They examined her and he fever was still above 103. They couldn't find anything specifically wrong so they told us to keep giving her tylenol and the antibiotics she was on for her UTI. The doctor said that should cover most infections and that is why he thought it was a serious virus. Yesterday when they wieghed her though she had gained some weight and was 19 pounds.
He fever went down for a while yesterday and sat at about 101. This morning I went to check on her and she was sound asleep. She felt really hot so I took her temp and it was 102.9. She didn't want to wake up at all today and when I would wake her up she would fall asleep within ten minutes so I called the doctor and he said to bring her in to the walk in clinic tonight. At that point I had tried to wake her up three times during the day and she fell asleep with in ten minutes of me getting her up every time. When we got ready to take her in her fever had gone way down with the help of the tylenol and she was actually awake. I almost didn't take her in but I wanted her checked before we had another long night. The doctor that checked her seemed concerned but he said that it was probably just a really nasty virus that was causing her to be so sick. She hasn't had anything to eat today and the only thing she will drink is water. She was 17 lbs 6 ounces today. I highly doubt that she was 19 pounds yesterday but I bet she was over 18 pounds. When she was under 18 pounds a couple of weeks ago they were really concerned. If she doen't start eating by Friday we will take her in to get her weight checked. I just fear going in and having her weigh 15 pounds or something from dehydration and lack of food. She was awake on and off for an hour and a half this evening and is asleep again. I have had two doctors tell me now that it is most likely just a virus but I am still really concerned. Since her fever is just over 100 now I am not going to worry too much tonight but this little girl is sick and I wish I could do something more to help her.

Kirsten- Henry will make the transition when he is ready. I really think that he will. Moving his pack and play to the end of the bed is a good step in the right direction.

OK, my baby woke up and is crying in the other room so I had bettergo and take care of her.

Hey Ladies-
Good evening! It's been super crazy around here and I just wanted to pop in and say hello. Too many things going on and not enough hours in the day.

I just read this current page. I hope the sick kiddies are back to their normal selves very soon. It's soooooooo hard to watch them feeling miserable. Audrey is getting her molars so sleep deprivation has been the norm around here.

Well A just woke up so gotta run.

Thanks everybody...I think he is cuter than Suri too!

Gavin has been a little bugger lately about going to sleep. He has been waking between 5-20minutes after he goes to bed. If he falls asleep on his boppy or in his swing out in the living room he will sleep for hours w/o getting up! He woke up after I put him to bed but them I rubbed his forehead and it seems to be working so far. I am afriad to go to bed too soon after he goes down because I hate when I get woken up right after I go to sleep.

Oh, and my allergies are killing me! I called my dr last friday and they said sudafed and claritin. I thought that sudafed can affect your milk supply...anyone ever hear that?

Michelle~ I am so glad to hear that he is gaining woohooo!

Ok, I am bothering Mike with my typing now. I make him sleep on the couch on work nights so his alarm clock doesnt startle Gavin. Our couch is comfy so he doesnt mind.

One more thing before I go to bed. I was on the mini pill but I kept forgetting to take it so I just said screw it for now. I have been feeling crampy for days but no af. Could I have screwed myself up by just stopping it? I have not had a period since Gavin was born just a little spotting around 7 weeks pp. Dont know if I should be concerned and also I want these cramps to go away.

Yikes Kelli - Maybe you are PG!? :D

Leslie - Wow - scary! Poor little baby..I hope she feels better soon! Let us know what the doc says!!

Sarah - Poor Leata! She has been battling this for a couple weeks now? I hope you get some answers...will they give her an IV? My worry is that she will become dehydrated. *hugs*

Kristen - People were on me for having Anthony in our room for the longest time. You have to do what is best for you. We had him in his bassinette attached to our bed as a co-sleeper for many months. Then we transitioned to a pack and play using the bassinette. Eventually he started standing around and we had to place him on the bottom of the PNP. He was not comfy that way and would not sleep well. We started putting him for naps in the crib and then in bed with us at night. I was so scared about smothering him. So one day we decided to just try out the crib at night. More of my DH pushing us. And surprisingly A loved it! He was so good and loves his crib and his space. We still bring him in our bed at 4 or 5am every morning for an hour before we go to work - he wakes then for a bottle. My point is when they are ready they will give you the signs. Try not to worry and do what you feel is right! :)

Pauly - Hope Audrey pops those molars soon and that you get some rest!! *hugs*

Red - So glad the BF is going well! And I am so happy you can prove this doctor wrong. I am glad the LC was able to help you! You must be soo relieved! Let us know how the appt today goes! :)

Leanna - Thanks for the info! Hope you are getting things accomplished around the house! I know it drives me nuts when things are out of order and there is no routine!! *hugs*

Corrina - I feel the same way you do. I don't see why a baby needs a Hep B shot? It doesn't make sense. In Canada (Ontario) we don't have the Hep B for babies. I have given A his 2, 4, 6 month Hib, DTap shots. His next is the MMR which I plan to delay. If I can split the shot I will go ahead and give him the vax for mumps as it can cause sterility in males. I had the mumps as a small infant (maybe 12 months old) so I know it can happen and I do not want to risk it. The measles virus scares the hell out of me. Kids who have been diagnosed in the Autism Spectrum tend to have 'leaky guts'. In some cases the measles virus has been found in their intestines. Autism has become an epidemic. Your child has a 1 in 166 chance of developing Autism. That's nuts! You have a 1/1000 chance of having a Down syndrome baby or a baby with cystic fibrosis. I think that's nuts. And no one can say why..Which scares me even more. Until babies are 3 yrs old they do not have a blood barrier protecting their brain. This is one of the reasons I want to wait for A to get his shots. I don't want to be one of those crazy paranoid moms but I have read so much about it - I can't go back to being ignorant about it. As boys are 4X as likely to develop Autism it kind of scares me. A lot of these kids have regressive Autism..meaning all their skills they had are lost at some point. How that happens I am not sure? As for the chicken pox vaccine. I believe I read somewhere that they give it at 12 months with the MMR which is ineffective. Those two vaccine should not be given together. I don't plan on giving him the chicken pox vaccine. When he is ready for school I will think about it. Mainly because it is only good for 6 yrs. As he doesn't go to daycare and has minimal contact with other kids I don't think he will catch it (which I prefer). I also worry about shingles as my one GF suffers from it and it is debilitating. My DH had chickenpox at 6 months and is ok. Too many vaccines for so many things out there. Anyway, oops! Didn't mean to go on and on and on about that.

:?: I do have a question for everyone about your kids who are close A in age. He does some things that I wonder if they are "typical" for his age group and real just exploratory. One thing he does is he will wave his fingers up and down as saying bye-bye (I do that to him all of the time) but he will do it to himself and stare at his fingers. Another he does is he hits things with his hand. Like he will stand at the coffee table and hit has hand flat on the table top over and over. Sometimes it seems hard. And thirdly he will lie in his crib when he is falling asleep and scratch with his fingers the sheets, his bumper pads, an appliqué on his pajama and sometimes the back of his head. Am I reading too much into this? All I have is my sisters’ daughter (5 days) younger to compare to but she was premature and is far behind A on milestones. Hopefully I am being paranoid and my mind has run off again. Thanks for taking the time to read and respond to this question. :)

Quick post before I'm off to find more boxes!

Mara- All those things Anthony is doing are normal! Jack especially loves scratching his sheets and other surfaces... he listens very intently while he does it. Just learning about the world around him! Babies often wave towards themselves first, because they are copying you, and they see your palm facing them. :) And Jack also does the slapping the table... all normal baby stuff!

Michelle- That's awesome that Mason's gaining so well! Go mommy!

Have a nice day ladies!

Mara -- Matthew LOVES his hands. He'll be doing something, stop and stare at his hands. Like they're doing something totally fascinating. I think it's just a texture issue. And, for the banging on tables -- he does it, too, then laughs really hard. I think they like the loud sound more than anything. I wouldn't worry a bit about it -- probably means that he's alert and intelligent, if anything.

Kelli -- probably wasn't a good idea to stop the pill all of a sudden, but I'm sure your body will catch up with itself. Being a mini-pill and you kept forgetting to take it anyways, might have done more "messing up" than anything. Maybe you should give it a few days/weeks and then revisit!!

Sorry for all of these sick babies. We're battling teeth (like always), but nothing like those scenarios. I hope they get better really soon!! That's so tough on Mommy ((HUGS)).

We ran to BabiesRUs last night for "shower" gifts and to spend a gift card Matt got over the weekend. We got him a Sesame Street vacuum cleaner. It's TOO cute!! He loves it, although he's sorda struggling to walk and push it at the same time. But, it talks and makes noises. Only thing it doesn't do is actually vacuum (bummer!!). He also got a new video and two outfits.

We picked up those handles for the Avent bottles, too. He hasn't figured them out yet, but we're working on it. Will be nice if he can feed himself here and there.

Okay, Kirsten -- you can join us for drinks too. Cosmos sound good to me. But, heck, I'd drink just about anything

Gotta run....

Thanks Leanna! Tracy! I feel betetr already! You know you hear so much about autism and other disorders it freaks you out. We all just want our babies happy and healthy!

Tracy - Too funny about the vacuum cleaner!! What are the handle syou talk about? Anthony has them on a sippy cup - is it something that can go on a bottle?

:?: When should I move him to a sippy and encourage that more than the bottle? I was thinking of giving it a month or so and then start giving him his formula in a sippy cup.

For Avent bottles (they probably exist for all brand, though), here's a link -- they're called Easy Grip handles. Someone recommended them on this site, for babies ready to drink by themselves, but are struggling with the sippy-cups. Mine were $3.99 for a set of two.

Porkchop just started using one of those advent starter cup the past two to three days. She does AWESOME at it. Holds is herself and everything. Ok I have to try to make this quick. Tons of stuff piled up at work where I missed yesterday.

I want to join in on drinks. I HATE beer but love Smirnoff. I also LOVE a good strawberry margurita!!!

Mara Arianna used to love to scratch everything. I agree with the others... it's the different textures. She will occassionally smack the table.

We started giving Arianna a sippy cup to get used to around six months. She didn't do well with the cups with the spout, so our ped recommended switching to the ones that have straws. They are bigger, so they are hard for her to hold, but she drinks well out of them. She still doesn't drink enough out of them to take the bottle away though.

Talking about the vaccines... we've just done the normal vaccines on schedule. We did the Hep B too. I think in our state you have to have the chicken pox vaccine to start school. I may talk to DH about putting it off until later though. My friend's little girl actually had to have it before she could go to the daycare she goes to.

Arianna slept good last night, but she was SO fussy yesterday. My MIL called and said she is still fretful today, and she didn't want her breakfast. She took more bottle instead of eating. That is VERY weird for her. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens. The good news is the fever seems to be gone.

Well, I gotta run.

Tracy thanks for the link - will have to check it out.

leslie - hope Ariana feels better soon. Anthony when he is sick only wants the bottle.

Anyone know where to get those straw cups? I have only seen the playtex kind that TALK? What the heck is up with that? that cup would get annoying. I was going to buy it but it said stage 4 and I wasn't sure about it and the noise thing .lol..made me just put it back. My SIl uses the straw cup on my niece who is 10 month sold and does well with it.

Mara -- I think our B 'R Us (and WM) have the straw cups.

They're supposed to be better for the baby-teeth anyways (sugar in liquid goes BEHIND the teeth and down the throat...rather than soaking the teeth with every drink).

Matt doesn't seem to like the straw very much, but we'll keep trying. If it's anything like his picky-eating -- it'll just take some extra time. He doesn't like change...he is a bottle-kid :)

Of course Leslie can join for drinks. Not sure what to say about HATING beer (ouch -- it's a staple in my diet!!), but I cannot pass up a strawberry margarita

We all really do need to get together one day. What's middle -- Nashville? Somewhere in KY? ??? Maybe we can find out where the next pcos conference is. Heaven help them if we'd all show up. I see some ladies being thrown out of the hotel on that trip

Mara-I got Lucys straw sippy cups from Walmart. I think they were Gerber.
My nephew will be 4 in November. I think Ive hit depression from all of this. And thats why Ive gained so much also. I eat to numb the hurt I guess, especially since I dont smoke anymore. I get sick when I remember the times how p!ssed Id get that I didnt think of the babysitter before my SIL...that way she would have watched Lucy and Emma. Im so thankful now that it didnt work out that way.
I watched my nephew when he was a newborn up till he was 18mths and then this summer. Kinda like one of my kids.

Oh well..off to do more laundry.

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is doing well.

Mara: We got Willow's straw cups at WM. They are the Nuby brand. She loves them!

I think they are only doing the conferences every two years now.... but I would love to get together with everyone sometime!!! Especially if it was as close as Nashville or somewhere in KY!!!!

Willow had her 12month checkup yesterday. She has lost a few oz since she was there about a month ago. So now dr. is starting to get concerned. This is what he told me to do......... give her ice cream everyday. Ummm..... sorry, not gonna happen. I talked to my friend who is an R.D. and he didn't think that was a good idea either. I am now keeping a food diary and keeping track of everything she eats. She has fallen to below the 5th percentile now. This morning for breakfast she had peanut butter mixed with heavy cream and applesauce. I don't understand how this girl could have lost weight????

Sarah: What has your dr said lately about the weight issue?? I am just really starting to disagree with her drs philosophies.

Amy- Leata's doctor says that since she has always been small he is not too concerned as long as she keeps gaining. She has lost some because she has been sick though. He also said that as they start getting more mobile that they can lose a little weight because they are so active. I bet that is what is happening with Willow. The doctor has not had me giving her butter or cream in everything like some of my friend's doctor's have told them to do. I think that is kind of crazy especially when many of my friend's babies are bigger than Leata. I mean there are certainly times when extra calories are necessary. Our doctor seems to think that Leata is doing fine. She looks healthy and doesn't look sickly thin or anything. She is eating constantly when she is not sick so even when she is losing a bit here and there the doctor says that she is getting the nutrition that she needs and that is what is important. I am a little concerned with her being less than 17.5 pounds right now but I am hoping that as she starts to feel better that she gets back up in to the 18 pound range. Leata loves ice cream but I couldn't imagine giving it to her every day. That could really lead to a bad habit. My doctor is all about giving her healthy food and making sure that she is gaining steadily even if that weight gain is slow and not a lot. She is just a tiny little thing. Because of her weight problems she was measured again though and she is more like 30.5-31 inches and not 29. That's a big difference. The nurse that measured her at first was a new nurse though and she was having a hard time getting Leata to stay still and I could tell that she would be off. I know Leata did not shrink half an inch in three months. Anyway, my doctor doesn't think it is a good idea to give perfectly healthy babies lots of extra fat. He says it's not good for them and it gets them used to eating all that fat which they will most certainly not need later in life.

Sorry about baby-weight issues, Amy & Sarah.

Although I do love the idea of an everyday ice-cream diet (for MYSELF), I think that sounds a bit crazy. Wouldn't it make more sense to get fat/calories into the babies via healthier foods?? Like avocados??

I'm sorry I don't have more information -- Matt's a big guy, and hardly eats a thing, so I think it may just be baby-dependent, sometimes. My brother was scronny and eventually started putting on weight regularly in middle-school. He was a shrimp until then, though. Now he's a normal-sized man!! His son (5, now) appears to be the exact same way.

Hope all works out!!

Ok this isn't a mommy questions at all, but I know we have medical professional here and girls with thyroid problems, so I'm gonna ask it.

I was at my endo a couple of weeks ago. When she asked how I was feeling I told her I was still feeling really tired. She said she couldn't increase my Synthroid anymore, so she decided to do a CBC to see if my hemoglobin was low. They called yesterday and said some of the values on my CBC were abnormal and my endo wanted me to follow up with my primary care dr. I asked them to fax the results to me, so I could show my dr. DH and I just assumed it was my white blood cell count that was abnormal, but it's not. The out of range values were the HCT (which was high), the MCHC (which was low) and the RDW (which was high). I should add that they were either high or low by a very small number. Does anyone know what these things are? I've called my family dr, but no one from her office has called me back.

Also, when they faxed my CBC results they faxed my thyroid results too. I know I should be more familiar with how my thyroid labs work, but I'm not. I did have two levels that were out of range. The first was my T4 total. It was 11 when the range should be 8.5 - 10.5. My TSH was .170 whe it should be .35 - 5.50. Doesn't that mean that my thyroid is a little hyperactive on the dose of Synthroid I'm on? If I am hyperactive shouldn't I feel like I have a ton of energy and be losing some weight? I need help knowing what I'm reading.

Another off topic, but I had to post it. This is the link to the trailer for the movie about my football team... Marshall University. It really will be an awesome movie as the story of the team's comeback after the plane crash that killed the entire team. I think it opens in December. You should go see it.

http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/wearemarshall.html

Also my team is the team that Tracy's team (UT) is going to crush on the 23rd. From the first game over the weekend it appears we suck right now, but ya gotta support your team no matter what. GO HERD!!!

Just got back from Mason's dr. appointment. He gained 13 ounces in one week! His dr. was thrilled, as was I. She said he gained double what she had hoped for him gaining in a week. So WHEW! big sigh of relief here. Gotta go get some laundry done. We are going to my parents house this weekend so dh and my dad can go to Austin to see the UT vs. Ohio football game.

Ok, ok sounds like PCOS reunion at my place sometime next year... hmm how do you all feel about picking grapes?

Mara- I really understand the autism worries. Autism, in particular Asberger's syndrome, runs a little rampant in my DH's family. When Bonnie was little, my MIL was constantly looking for signs of it in her. When she was around 18 months/2 years old, she didn't like to have her hands dirty, and MIL was sure it was a sign. Well, it was a phase that she outgrew. Now I can hardly get her to wash her hands! The wierd thing is that DH has 9 first cousins, all boys, and 5 of them have been diagnosed with forms of Autism and/or ADHD. (Guess the two often go hand in hand?) His nephew has also been diagnosed with ADHD. All 6 of the boys in his family with the problems have been raised with almost unlimited television/video game/computer access and I really think that has something to do with it. They get this crazy blank look when they are playing their video games and it's like their entire life is playing or waiting for their turn to play again. Just seems like there has to be something environmental causing this increase in kids with these syndromes... maybe some people are born with the tendancy and certain things bring it out?

Leslie- I have no idea what all that bloodwork means! Hope you get your answers very soon though! The movie about your school sounds very interesting. I've never heard of that plane crash before. Herd of what??

Lisa- Boo!

For what its worth Sarah there has always got to be a kid in the lower percentiles. Not all kids can be in the 90% ha ha. Also we had to do the extra calories and such and did the cream and butter but you know we stopped 98% of all of the diet changes when she was about two and now at three she doesn't insist on chocolate milk or butter on her bread or cheese etc that we used to do so I don't think it becomes a habit unless the parents continue on. Not like you should be giving her 3 cups of ice cream and whole cream at every meal with buttered bread etc. Pick and choose to get her the extra calories she needs for that day. Keep a rough total in your head and if she needs more then give her a extra something for a meal. Alot of people get hung up on this stuff and it is not that serious use common sense! We had to give Hannah supplemental sodium in her bottle and meals and I was totally freaked out she would be a salt a holic and have high blood pressure at 5. But she doesn't and can take or leave salt now. Usually the only salt she gets is if I add it while I am cooking which is rare. And of course there is always pediasure. But you are mom you know what is best you see her eat everyday and you know what she needs to eat. We also got organic juices that have a full serving of fruits and veggies in each glass or V8 for hannah and she didn't get plain juice till probably 3. Even now she doesn't care for Juicy Juice or Apple juice she'd rather drink the healthy stuff.

Wantingbaby#2- I do agree that there are times that people need to supplement for their children. I have a friend who has a little boy who is almost 3 and is 22 pounds. He certainly needs the extra calories. I also agree that if the parents continue feeding children with all the high calorie stuff after they do not need it anymore that can become a problem. When I said there are circumstances where extra calories are necessary I did mean that some people need to put cream and butter in their children's food. It was obvious that you needed to do that with Hannah and it is obvious that my friend's little boy needs that.
With Leata I think she gets enough calories in what we normally give her that she is ok for now. I do give her ice cream sometimes just to fill out the calories for the day when she is being picky. She wants ice cream all the time now though and I was only giving it to her a couple of times a week. You are absolutely right that there are always going to be kids on the lower side of the charts. I think that Leata is just one of them and I think that for now she is fine without the extra calories of butter and cream and such. I am talking about friends of mine who have doctors that are telling them that their baby who is 21 pounds at a year need to be adding the extra stuff. You are right that the best way to get them to gain weight is to give them the healthy stuff.
When Leata was very young he told me that I needed to be pumping and giving her breastmilk with extra formula in it. He does tell people who he really feels need the extra stuff to give them cream and butter in their food. He just feels that Leata does not need it so why do it. He has told me to give her stuff like full fat yogurt and cottage cheese and stuff like that.
I am sorry if I offended anyone. I certainly feel that there are times that extra stuff like cream and butter are needed but I feel like some doctors over do it. Especially around here for some reason. Leata has stayed on the same growth curve and the doctor feels that she is healthy at her weight so not to worry too much but we will keep an eye on it.
I'd love to meet a bunch of you some day. I too could see us all getting kicked out of the hotel if we went to a conference. We ought to try to find a middle for a bunch of us. That would be so cool!
OHHH I wanna come too!!!! Well Ok not to jail  Can you imagine the headlines in my town... Local Pastor's Wife Arrested for Disturbing the Peace....   Ok maybe we should all meet up in Austrailia! I'm sure Hannah would love to have us kick up our heels down under!

Man I can not seem to keep up with the posts latley. you would think that since Noah started kindergarten I would have more time but that is just not the case! I actually feel busier! if Dh wouldnt completley hog the computer at night I could get on then, but noooooo... Ok enough of my whining!

To all those with sick babies- sending you ((HUGS)) and prayers for quick recovery. Anna has been sick too- not as bad as some oif your poor little ones though. About three weeks ago we all came down with colds. Anna has not been able to shake the wheezing since. She is once again back on a nebilizer every four hours. Her Dr also gave her some antibiotics which seemed to help a little. But man just when I thought I had everything figured out and Anna's health under control by eliminating the dairy from her diet- Wham the wheezing came back. So now I'm pretty sure she has asthma as well as her dairy allergy. Oh yeah we are having problems with the weight issue too and now I'm starting to disagree with my ped. Anna now weighs 17lbs 4oz so she gained a little since last mo but she seems to bounce around a little with gaining and loosing. Seriously though Anna eats like a horse! I don't know where she packs away all the food she consumes and how she can still be so little. She does have a tiny pot belly that sticks out. It looks so funny though with her tiny little arms and legs and no rolls anywhere to have this little belly poking out. Our ped wants both my kids to gain weight (Noah only weighs 32 lbs and is 38 in tall although he is 5!) She told me to feed them both meat at every meal. She said to cook bacon and sausage every morning- I like bacon and sausage but the idea of eating it everyday makes me feel ill already! Both DH and I are little people and were small children so I never had any notion that our kids would be different . We call ourselves the pygmy tribe  I actually like having small kids because they really do wear out their clothes before they grow out of them! The only problem we have now is getting waistbands to fit. I have to take in almost all of Anna's bottoms and I can only buy pants for Noah that have adjustable waistbands. I do admit though that since Anna was born I have felt more concerned about the size of my kiddos. I think that because of Anna's respritiory issues she is monitored so closley that we notice drops in weight that we normally wouldn't see if we were just taking her in for routine checkups. Just to be on the safe side though both Noah and Ann will be tested soon for malabsorbtion problems. Not just because they are small but they both have some other unexplained health issues- Anna with her food allergies So far she's allergic to dairy, and tuna. but new allergies seem to pop up where she was not allergic before- so i don't know. And poor Noah is having some issues with his bowels. Anyway... I feel like I live at the drs office! Sarah I know you know what I'm talking about!

Leslie- That movie looks like a real tear jerker/ feel good inspirational movie. Heck just watching the trailer made me want to chant "We are MARSHALL!!" and I'm not even a fan of college ball! Speaking of football I just signed DH up for the NFL Sunday sports package with Direct TV and he's in seventh heaven. He now thinks I am the greatest wife in the world LOL! I told him he OWES me BIG TIME! Now to think of all the ways to make him repay!!!

Tracy- I'm all on board with the Ice Cream diet too!! Sign me up!! Except I can't eat dairy till I quit nursing Anna  Hopefully I will be done soon- I just have to get her to really take to soy milk before I can quit

Leanna- Hey do you have any good recipies using lentils?? I bought some the other day (out of curiosity) but don't have the faintest idea how to make them tast good! LOL!

Ok ladies I started this post this morning and am just getting back to it but now I have to go again because Anna is up- So I guess I'm done for now! Sorry if I missed anyone

God Bless

Buttercup- I totally understand where you are coming from about living at the doctor's office! It's crazy. EVERYONE at our doctors office knows us. All five doctors and all of their nurses (some of them have two each) know us. All of the receptionists know us (there are six of them). The lab people know us. The billing people know us. The referral people know us.
They tested Leata for some metabolic disorders when she was a lot younger. He has talked about doing it again at some point. She was doing pretty well with her weight gain until she got sick. Leata is about two months older then Anna, right? She weighs 17 pounds 6 ounces right now. From what I can find and what the doctor has told me is that kids slow down in weight gain at around a year old for a little while. Mostly because they begin to be even more active. My doctor wants to keep an eye on Leata's weight but does not seem too concerned just yet. She has always been small and seems to be growing the way that she should. If she stays sick that will be a different story though. It is good that they are watching your kids but I think if there are no problems that you are probably right about them just being small like you and dh.

Oh, we went to Lagoon over Labor Day weekend. It's too bad that the kids in your youth group didn't get to go this year. It really was a lot of fun.

esarah- sorry to hear about Leata :( Hopefully they'll get to the bottom of this! Hang in there mommy!

kelly- I hear ya on the allergies girlfriend!

Mara- I had to laugh after reading your comments and questions about Anthony's "funny quirks". Aiden LOVES slapping things with his hands! Preferably, holding onto something w/ one hand and slapping it w/ the other. Loves letting flat surfaces know who's boss. I gave him a sippy cup filled w/ spring water. He only gets a couple of sips but it saves him from having to learn something that he's not ready for yet....tipping it back in order for it to come out. Breast feeding I guess loses that concept. Anyway I bough thim one with two, thick, wide gripping handles on the sides of it. He can hold it easier that way...hope this helps also!

Now to leslie- well....lets send this first!

First a cbc as you probably already know, is a complete blood count, which measures every component in your blood, including cells and plasma etc. Htc=Hematocrit; Is an easy way to measure the percentages of WBC (white blood cells), RBC (Red blood cells) and blood plasma (watery fluid in blood) in relativity to one another...they should be pretty equal in volume. When your htc is high that usually means that your RBC is high and the "fluid" part is less than it should be and might explain someone who might be dehydrated for example.
The MCHC=Mean corpuscular hemaglobin concentration; Measures the iron in your blood...usually used to detect iron deficiancy, if low, such as yourself, might express anemia.
The RDW=Red blood cell distribution width; usually measures abnormal sizes in cells in comparison to regular sized/width cells...usually used to detect which type of anemia one might have if any.
So, it sounds as though by these values that you might be anemic, thus the tiredness etc., but of course talk to your doctor for sure and ask him all of this as well. Good luck and I hope this helped!

Oh! Leslie! Forgot the thyroid thing!
T4 is a thyroid hormone. It's measured to detect hyper/hypo thyroidism. If it's elevated such as in your case, it suggests hyperthyroidism, but not by much. Pregnancy, nursing, and the pill tend to increase these values. (Obviously not in my case! ) Anyway, the tsh is another type of thyroid hormone and when measured can also detect hypothyroidism caused by your pituitary gland not working correctly. A low tsh usually suggests pituitary issues. Also, higher levels of T4 can cause tsh to drop..but altogether is common in hypothyroidism vs herperthyroidism. BUT! Like I said before...talk to yout doc...I hope this helped a little.

Ok so I started catching up on posts earlier today and now I have time to post myself :)
Piper had her flower girl gig this past Sunday! She did great. Or should I say I did great? Ok so I carried her down the isle, holding her and her basket full of rose petals in one hand--and with the other hand I nonchalantly dropped petals behind me  But she was very cute! She wore a light pink dress with dark pink trim. We had a halo of baby's breath on her head. It was perfect. I've never seen a prettier flower girl LOL I was worried about how she would do, but in the end all was well. She did not get much of a nap that afternoon either. She was alone with daddy in the hotel room. She was sick and apparently screamed the entire morning away. Eventually he got her to nap by driving her to the church and then driving circles around the parking lot until we needed her! He had a headache by then  I do it everyday, but one afternoon he gets a headache! Anyway....This was seriously the most beautiful wedding I have ever seen. It was more like a fairy tail than reality. Oh and for their 1st dance as husband and wife, they did the assassain's tango! Well that's what I call it anyway. They did the tango to the music from Mr & Mrs Smith--where they tango and she drops a bomb in his pocket :) Karen and Brian had ben taking lessons secretly for months now. I knew, but it was a big surprise to everyone else.

My BF Karen was a gorgeous bride :D I'm not a very emotional person, but I cried through the entire thing! My nose wouldn't stop running from my cold anyway, but the other bridesmade kept sniffling next to me! I am just so happy for her. And we put a ton of work into bringing it all together the entire weekend. Now I know that I never want to get married or plan another wedding ever! We were up and working past midnight every night we were there. And now the happy couple is spending some much needed down time in Maui :) I will try and post some pics of Piper on the other thread. But if you want to see some great photograpy, check this site out.

Woo hoo--if I hurry, I will be on TOP :D
Here are my personals...
Piper is still a little sick. She is coughing a little and her nose is back to running clear. I'm sick too and have been all weekend. But I'm finally able to breathe again and am feeling much better.

Lisa--John was really upset to hear about the Croc Hunter too. That was one of his favorite people. So you think it would be weird to meet me????? LOL

Jamie--Poor little guy! I hope he's better now.

Mara--Thanks for the CPSC site--that will be helpful. Just like everyone else has said, all that stuff is perfectly normal for him to be doing. He is learning cause & effect. Piper loves making noise and still looks at her fingers like she's seeing them for the 1st time. She doesn't wave bye bye with her fingers, but shakes her entire arm at people instead.

Sarah--HUGS and prayers for both you and Leata! Hope you find the problems or what's causing all of this.

Corinna--Good luck with your exercise!

Kirsten--Thanks Piper is doing better. I hope you get some sleep soon! Are you sure you don't have a sister in Indiana? You look so much like one of my friend's mom! It's strange :)

Hannah--That's great that you are getting out and having fun with your new boy toy LOL

Tracy--Count me in on that Smirnoff! We were drinking OJ and Champagne at 9am on the morning before the wedding  we took it to the nail salon--probably thought we were a bunch of drunks LOL until they asked us to leave what was left over! That cake pan is awesome! But I think it is older than I am!

Kelly--Suri is a beautiful baby. Definitely his hair twin! I used to think Tom Cruise was a hottie until he went nuts. But she looks like he did in Top Gun.

Red--That's great that Mason's gaining weight! Piper would go like 4 days without pooping as a newborn. It was crazy, but we didn't go through a lot of diapers hahaha She didn't get a good poo schedule until she started eating fruits/veggies.

Leslie--I know how scary a fever that high can be! HUGS and prayers for Arianna too. I hope they can figure out your thyroid issue and fix it

Buttercup--So sorry to hear that Anna is back on the nebulizer! I hate that thing...Piper started to cough a few days ago and I was afraid it would go to her chest and she would start wheezing again. Thankfully she hasn't yet, and I think she is almost over it. Are they going to do an allergy test on her? I would like to have one done.

WOW! Terra.. those wedding pictures are just amazing! How awesome that they were able to get such a great photographer to capture that special day. I'm still amazed at some of the shots he's got on that website.

Sarah! My goodness hun... you just can't get a break, can yoU!? Poor Leata must just be totally miserable! Hope someone can get to the bottom of what's happening quick!

Sorry, I don't have time for more personals (I know.. I never do). Quick question though... when would you consider moving up to stage 3 foods? Justin has been eating stage 1 and 2 for a while now and eats anything and everything we put in front of him. I have his 6 month appointment in a few weeks and I'm not in a hurry or anything but I just hadn't heard much in this regard. Also.. any of you formula feeding moms try the store brand formulas? We started Justin on the Wal-Mart brand (hey.. it is a full $14 per container less than the name brand and he's going through a container and a half every week!)... he seems to be okay and has been on it for a couple of weeks.. but I am having a hard time figuring out if he is spitting up more. It's not vomiting... just small amounts here and there.. mostly when he is playing on his tummy, but I don't want to do anything that might not be good for him either. My other theory is that he is just playing on his tummy alot and the presure may be the primary cause of the spit-ups? Any thoughts?

Hello Hot Mamas!

As far as meeting for a drink - a quick google search brought up the following information: Lebanon, Kansas is the geographical center of the lower 48 US states. The 2000 census reports a population of 303 people, so there are no guarantees that we could find a decent hotel or a bar! So, maybe we could opt for Kansas City?

I have a milion and one questions and things to rant about tonight, but I will try to limit myself here...

Okay - first off - I cannot find Zweibach biscuits - are these not made anymore?!?!?!?! I found Gerber biter biscuits, but they looked on the package to be rather small. I finally went to Whole Foods and spent a fortune on organic biscuits that seemed like what I was looking for. I just wanted a large, hard biscuit that Henry can gnaw on for a while.

Okay, now all my crazy mommy concerns - the "is my child normal?" list of questions:
H is nearly six months old and not showing ANY signs of teething. Is this normal?
He is not interested in solid foods. I put him in the highchair and try, but he just spits it out or refuses to open his mouth. My kid is a boob-aholic and does not want solids. Is this normal?
He does not roll over. He did a few times a few weeks ago, but won't even try now. He is very strong (can sit up) but show no interest in being mobile. Is this normal?
Okay, think I covered it!

Cheryl- I am not sure about the stage three foods. Leata never really did the stage three foods. She just kind of went from stage two to table foods. I would guess that if you wanted to try them with Justin it would be ok though and if he gags and has problems with him just hold off a little longer.
When Leata switched to formula full time at nine months the doctor suggested the Sam's club brand fomula. That is what we used and had no problems with it. He said it is cheaper and it has all the same stuff as the more expensive brands. I wouldn't guess that it would make him spit up more but I guess it is possible. I bet laying on his tummy is doing it though. That did it to Leata even when she was breastfeeding.

Terra- You and Piper look so pretty. It looks like you had a good time despite your colds. Sorry you have been sick though. It's not fun!

I am thinking of everyone and hope that you are all doing well.

Leata's fever is completely gone now. It was about 101 this morning but by this afternoon it was back down to 99. She also deicided she was starving this afternoon. She has had two pedialyte pops, goldfish crackers, string cheese, yogurt, some crazy bread and some chocolate milkshake all this evening. She is still grumpy but doing better. I guess she did have a virus but I feel like something else is wrong too. Maybe I am just wrong.

DH and I go in for dental work tomorrow. We will never put going to the dentist off for four years again (I know it's terrible)! I have three fillings to be done tomorrow. Two of them could possibly be root canals! Yikes. No fun at all. Then I will have to make another appt for two more fillings and a filling that is rotting to be taken out and replaced. He said my teeth are in good condition so the roots should be ok but if he gets down to the nerve space they may be root canals. So this should be fun. Dh is getting 6 fillings tomorrow. I think that we have the whole morning scheduled for us!

My grandparents will be traveling through with my Aunt this weekend. I am excited to see all of them. My grandparents live in Arizona in the winters and Montana in the summers. Utah is right in between so they stop here on there way too and from Montana. They have done it for the last eight years that I have lived here and I love it! They are in very poor health though so once they get back to Arizona this time they will stay put. My Aunt is traveling with them because their health is so poor and she is driving the truck with the trailer for them. She will be staying with us while they are travelling through instead of on my grandparents couch in their trailer. She is excited that she will be able to take a real shower at our house. I go to Montana and Arizona to visit my grandparents often and the year I got pregnant with Leata I had gone to visit them and take care of them three times in about three months and right when I got home from helping them the last time I found out that I was pregnant. I hope that we will get to visit them again a few more times before they are gone. My grandma is 85 years old and has severe arthritis and Alzheimer's disease. She struggles to remember much of anything and I named Leata after her daughter who passed away when she was three. That is confusing to her sometimes and that makes it hard but I am so glad that she and my grandpa are around to see her. My grandpa is 83 years old and is in congestive heart failure, has asthma and type 2 diabetes on top of other things. He's just kind of losing his strength slowly. My Aunt thinks he may have a year left in nim but that's about it. He is such a kind and generous person and I will miss him when he is gone.

OK, sorry that was so long and so off topic. I am just so excited to see so much family this week. My dad comes to visit in a week to so this will be fun and Leata will love it!

I think things are finally settling down for us (Knock on wood)! I am hoping that things will get better for us health wise and then I will get pregnant soon. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Thanks again for all the thoughts and prayers. Leata is doing so much better and I feel blessed that she is.

Now for the rest of you...

Leslie: Hey there!

Pauly: Hope you survive the sleep deprivation. You have my FULL sympathy!!!

Kelly: Where do you find those cute/classic little boy outfits? Does your mom make them?

Mara: Anthony sound like an active little monkey! He is only about five weeks older than Henry, but he is doing so much - standing??? I'm impressed!

LisaMarie: I hope they hang the dirty so-and-so!
Is the Avent starter cup the same thing as those handles that go on the bottle? Is it something different? I'd like to start trying a cup.

Amy: Ice-cream??? I'm not sure...Willow is still on the charts, right? What is the reason for your doctor's concern? Is she healthy/happy?

Terra: Amazing photos! He's a real pro! You made me laugh with the flower-girl story.

Cheryl: I have read that the FDA heavily regulates formula - so all formula brands will have the exact same percentages of fats, carbs, sugars, etc. I guess where they differ is in how they mix it and claims about better digestability. Not exactly sure how they do that - but if you go to the store and read all the ingredients, brand names are pretty much the same as generics. I have seen "organic" formula at the health-food stores - they probably use organic milk sources, etc. Don't know if that would help?

Okay, next time I post (when I'm not about to pass-out on my keyboard) remind me to go off about our childcare situation and help me figure out what to do...I won't start now b/c I could go on all damn night...

Kirsten- I just read your post after I finished posting. About the teeth...I would not worry at all about that. Leata only got her 1st tooth at ten months. The doctor told me some kids don't get teeth until they are a year old and that can be perfectly normal too so I wouldn't worry on that one.
I have seen Zweiback at our Wal-Mart.

Just keep trying with the solids. My brother was so attached to breast feeding and my mom tried to feed him solids earlier but he really didn't take to them until about 9 months and all turned out ok. I would just keep trying though.

About the rolling. I would maybe get that one checked out. It's great that he is strong and he is sitting and it may just be that he has no interest in rolling but it is a completely different motion and it could be a sign of delay (not to scare you because it also could be his personality). I studied human development in school and I remember talking about babies and how they should be rolling by 6 months and if they are not that it is better to be safe then sorry and have them checked out just in case. My bet is that he is fine but I would have it checked out just in case.

Amy- Really quick- if you don't mind sharing- how much does Willow weigh?

Sarah - my sister and her hubby are BIG peoiple and their son is in the lower end of the percentile thingys. He's fine. It's funny they are so big and have the smallest kid though! As long as they are still in the range I've heard thigns are fine.

Kirsten - Kel was slow to start with solids too....he's still a funny eater. Cohen however LOVES solids!

Well, my new boy is coming over tonight for dinner. He was going to stay the night but smsed to say he would go home. He did say in the text message not to just sms back with "k" or he'd think I was cranky. He has to get his car stereo fixed in the morning and I dare say he thinks I'd make him run late. He and a friend are doing it...boring. So, we have plans for Saturday night and since James has access with the boys I'll be spending the night there. I dont elt James take the boys to his mum's to sleep so I'm starting to relax by letting him have access in my home without me there...kills me, but, I need a life too.

Man oh man...

Dh just took Lucy to the Emergency Room. She woke up around 130 crying. Dh was already in there and she was saying how her belly hurt. Actually it was right at the top of her panty line or right below it. And she was shaking. So we gave her pain meds and brought her to bed with us. She would settle down. She had peed in her pullup so I cleaned her up and put a new pullup on her. So we laid back down. She was restless and started whinin again and was shakin again and saying..'I cant let go of it..its hurt but I cant let go". SHe was pushing on it I guess. So we asked if she wnated to go see the doctor right now and she said yes. Which is SOOOOOOOOO not like her. She hates goin to the doctor. She said she wanted DH to take her. He wanted me to get Emma up and take her so we all could go. I told him no. I wasnt goin to wake her up at 230 in the morning to go out there. I just think he didnt want to go by himself. I told Lucy I would take her but she wanted TIm. She is such a daddys girl. So I get her dressed while dh gets dressed and she isnt complaining about it then. She did feel warm like she had a fever.
I dont knwo whats wrong with her. It was scary because she actually wanted to go to the doctor. SO im basically waiting. Dh said to go back to sleep..but Ic ant.

Ok....

Kirsten-I would just keep trying with Hank on the foods. My nephew didnt start food FOREVER and then when she did start him I think it was like 9-10mths he would barely eat and he didnt know how to eat. And then she kept him on babyfood till he was 2. He is almost 4 now and dont know how to eat righ toff of utensils. And he cant drink out of a cup. Then when he drinks out of a straw...he sticks his tongue otu and curls it like when a baby nurses and sucks on the straw like that..its werid. So Im a freak about waitin long on feeding. lol Id just keep tryin like you are..sounds like you are doin a great job.
Dont feel bad..Porkchop doesnt show interest in rolling either. UNLESS I have her on the counter after her bath and she goes for my basket of bills. lol
SHe isnt sittin gup on her own either...she cant on our laps..but not on a hard surface.

Terra-Hey chick! Been forever since we've heard form yoU!!!!!!!!!!
When you were teling us about you and Piper walkin down the aisle..I got so tickled. Glad you all had a nice time.

Hannah-Hey beauty! Glad you are havin fun!

I love watchign Roseanne..its so comforting......

this little belly poking out. Our ped wants both my kids to gain weight (Noah only weighs 32 lbs and is 38 in tall although he is 5!)
We used to joke with my daughter that when the belly was poking out her tank was full. I kid you not after she ate she looked pregnant. Most kids are like that with large bellies but it is so funny to watch. I thought Hannah was tiny but she is 3 and 29# and 37 1/2" She could wear 4t pants in length but her tiny but doesn't hold them up either.

Kelly: Where do you find those cute/classic little boy outfits? Does your mom make them?

My mom does make some of them. If you ever want anything...she does make stuff for other people's kids all of the time! She is actually going to try to start her own website to sell her stuff soon. Some of the stuff that I get is feltman brothers stuff. If you search for feltman brothers online, there are several websites that sell them. If there is a specific outfit that you liked of Gavin's, let me know and I will tell you where I got it.

Oooh look, I'm posting early! Getting ready to take both babies out and go to MOPs. Looking forward to getting out of the house for a while. So is it bad that the babysitter is getting a babysitter for the morning LOL :D

Cheryl--I'm sure that the store brand and name brand is the exact same stuff. I did see that WM sells an organic one. It might taste different, but if he doesn't mind it I wouldn't worry. Like I've noticed a texture difference between Similac and Enfamil. Enfamil is really fine like sand and Similac is more powdery. Some stage 3's are probably ok for him now. The fruits are just bigger. I never found any chunks in them. His tummy is probably not ready for tomatoe sauce though. And lots of 3's have the red sauce. I would wait until 7 or8 months for that. Just ask his ped at your appt. and see what he has to say. Piper only had 3's a few times and we just went to real food. Aren't those pics amazing? I was so impressed with this guy. And it's digital so he took over 1000 pics. Our photographer still used film and they are boring compared to these.

Kirsten--Piper got her 1st tooth at 10 1/2 months. She rolled from tummy to back around 5 months and from back to tummy more around Henry's age now. She didn't really want to move around since she could sit up early. Just ask your ped at the appt. Mine wasn't worried that she could not roll both ways at 6 months. Just remember that every baby is different. Have you tried giving him something sweeter at first, like some of the fruits. I know breast milk has a sweeter taste to it. Not sure if that matters. I think it can take up to 15 times or so for a baby to accept a new taste. Just keep trying :)

Sarah--I can't wait to see all of the pro shots this guy did. I know he got a great one of Piper with the bride outside. That's great you get to see your grandparents. Good luck with your dental work. My dentist office stalks me every 6 months LOL

Lisa--That is scary about Lucy. What did you find out?

Good Morning Ladies!!

LM -- let us know what you find out about lucy. Maybe a kidney infection!?! Sounds possible. I got a few as a kid and they were NO fun. Hope all goes well.

Sarah -- whoa! That is a lot of dental work. Good Luck!!

Terra -- I cannot believe I have a cake-pan older than you. I didn't need to know that  I was only about six when Star Wars came out, so I guess I'm not that much older, just made it seem so! I was reading about our college-cheerleaders in the media guide at the game last weekend and some were BORN in '88. Ouch -- that hurts.

I do love the mimosa's. Your BF's wedding sounds magical. Glad you had a good time.

I personally preferred Tom Cruise in Cocktail, but Top Gun was good too. I used to like him too, until he freaked out. Oh well, he was too short for me anyways

MilitaryMom -- we used generic formula (sams) with Matt and he did just fine. Was the nutrition equivalent of Similac and didn't give him the diarrhea. Was a lot cheaper, too.

Buttercup -- I was just thinking about you the other day. How's DH's knee? That was very nice to get DH the sports-pack...milk that one for all its worth :D

Leanna -- Yes, I'll help pick grapes. Don't think I could squish them (yucky), but I can pick them off the vines!! Sounds like a good meeting place :D

Leslie -- the only thing I know about your test-levels is the hyperthyroid. Mine went hyper after my pregnancy. It was pretty hyper (the doctor, herself, called to ask if I was having heart-palpitations or other life-threatening symptoms!!); but I honestly couldn't tell -- regarding a lot of energy or weight loss. Was a total surprise to me. Luckily, it leveled back to normal on its own after a few months.

I kept forgetting to tell you...most of that movie was filmed here in Atlanta. Several folks saw Matthew McConaughey (YUM) jogging in local parks. Yes, that's precisely why I've taken up jogging  Apparently some stadium around here is very similar to the Eastern Carolina stadium...which is the game they were coming home from when the plane crashed, right!?! Will definitely be seeing that movie -- I bet it's a good one.

However, I am hoping we beat Marshall on the 23rd (it's our homecoming). I won't talk any sh!t, because we looked so terrible last year, though!!

Kirsten -- Ha -- Lebanon, Kansas. Sounds like a wild place :) Definitely a BYOB locale. Don't know much about Kansas City, other than the Chiefs. But, I could probably handle that. Or, maybe we should just all hop into planes and meet in Vegas!! We're safe there (even Buttercup) because what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas

Welcome to the Picky Eaters club. I wouldn't worry a bit about Hank. Matt was VERY SLOW in eating solids. He'd gag (not faking it) every time. We'd just try about every week until he'd actually eat. It truly wasn't until about a year that we could get him to eat a whole jar of food, or a cheerio or a goldfish. My ped said just to keep offering and one day he'll be interested. If Hank has no weight issues, then I wouldn't worry about it -- he'll come around eventually. I figured when they're both eating us out of house and home as teenage boys, the eating-frustration will be a distant memory

Matt got his first tooth at 10 months, like Leata. Now, he has about 8 (5 months later).

Don't know much about the rolling. Probably just a "don't need to" sorda feeling. Maybe if you pile up toys on one side, he'd roll over to get them. Matt rolled the first time to get the tv-remote!! Scared himself, but then you couldn't stop him. Diaper-changes are a nightmare once they start rolling (very hard to pamper a moving target), so enjoy it while he's still!!!

Okay, ladies with "mommy brain", I do think there's hope. Remember I was bummed last month because I'd screwed up an invoice here at work. Had done the same thing the month earlier, too. Well, I got the latest one in yesterday and found a big error before anyone else did. Woohoo -- let's hear it for the smart people  Okay, it was totally by accident that I found it; but that still counts as "smart" on my end. So, maybe 15 months is the magic "get your brain back" timeframe.

I did notice that I spelled scrawny (my brother, as a kid) wrong yesterday, so that piece of the brain is still struggling, but we have spell-check so I can get away with that!!

Leaving at noon today for Memphis. So, in case I don't get back on -- have a wonderful weekend :)

Good Friday morning ladies!

Lisa- How is Lucy?

Terra- That photographer took some really awesome pics.

Tracy- Have fun in Memphis!

Kirsten- I'm with the other ladies that each baby is different and there's nothing to worry about with Hank. Bonnie was "late" with some of the mobility but now she doesn't sit still for five seconds. :) Ditto on the solids! I'd keep putting him in the high chair while you and Phil are eating, and he'll let you know when he's ready to join in. There is some good info here that might help ease your mind a bit! http://lalecheleague.org/FAQ/solids.html

Sarah- Great to hear that Leata is getting better!

Buttercup- No lentil secrets here. :( I'm not creative with them, just cook them into a bean soup really... a few carrots, maybe some celery if I'm feeling risky. Cumin and a little ham for seasoning.

Hannah- Have a fun weekend with your new hottie!

Cheryl- Jack spits up more now that he's on his belly all the time too. Nothing like stepping in baby spit up barefoot.

Our house is looking so wierd. We have all the pictures down now and it makes me a little sad. :( Looking less and less like our home! It's upsetting Bonnie a little bit which I don't like, but I know the move will be good for her in the long run. Going to pack some of her stuff today... feel bad doing it while she's at school. As long as I leave the Polly Pockets out she probably won't notice though. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!

Leata has 11 teeth now. Well, 8 teeth three molars! I can hardly believe it. She got them so quickly. In five months she got all those teeth.

Lisamarie- I hope that Lucy is ok. That sounds like the pain I had with my recent kidney infection. No fun at all. I hope that it isn't anything serious!

Hannah- I hope that you have a good weekend!

Leanna- It must be starting to feel so real that you are moving now! Sorry Bonnie is having a hard time. Once you get everything up at the new house she will be able to settle in and feel better. I know I always did when we moved as kids. And we moved a lot!

Leata has the same little belly that Anna and Hannah do with the skinny little arms and legs. While she was sick she didn't have it though. That was why I was starting to get worried but after what she ate last night it was back.

OK, got to run to the dentist now. Not looking forward to it. Now that we are in with our dentist we will have appt every six months. We know our dentist from church and I almost didn't got to him because we see him all the time and we waited so long to go to the dentist Iwas embarrassed. I am glad we went to see him though because he is really good and it is nice seeing a familiar face. I didn't know anything about any other dentists around here. We already have our appt for six months from now so we will get in to the habit of going.

kristen - Anthony rolled fairly young and is hitting all his milestones early. However, my sister had a baby 5 days after A and she just started rolling 2 weeks ago but could sit no problem. I wouldn't worry. I think all babies are different. As long as he is getting tummy time so he can practice! About the tooth. A is 8 months and still no ttoth. I was 14 months old when I got my frist so we think Anthony may be a late bloomer like I was! About the solids. Keep trying. Inthe beginning with Anthony he refused any solids. What may work is may a very brothy bowl of cereal (Anthony loved barley and hated RICE) and mix it with expressed breast milk. So it is just like thickened breast milk. It will be sweet like breastmilk and he will take it. And not so thick to gag him. Then add more cereal and less milk over a few weeks until he is eating it pretty thickened up. I found A isn't nuts about jarred food - he loves homemade food that I make. I buy organic veggies/fruit and prepare it myself and freeze it in icecube trays. My sister makes the food with me so we make huge batches. Also try giving him yams/Carrots/sweet potatoes. They are sweet enough and he may liek them betetr than plain cereal.

corinna thanks for the info on the thyroid and CBC. I made an appointment with my family dr, so hopefully she can figure something out. It would be nice if I could take something that would help me feel better (more energy).

Leanna I’m all for the reunion at your house (you are brave). We wouldn’t have to worry about getting kicked out of anywhere.

Hope Bonnie adjusts to the move soon. I’m sure she will once you get in the new house. How is her ear infection?

Buttercup I’ve been wondering about you and DH knee too. Sorry to hear that Anna is still having breathing problems. I hope they can figure it out. Is she still BFing?

The whole “We are Marshall” thing is so cool when you’re at a ball game. One side of the stadium shouts “We are” and the other side shouts “Marshall”. Arianna will be going to her first game tomorrow.

Sarah hope the dentist appointment goes ok and that Leata continues to feel better.

Enjoy your visit with your grandparents.

Terra the pics of you and Piper are awesome. She made a beautiful flower girl!

Cheryl I can’t answer about the Stage 3. We made all of Arianna’s baby food. She is now basically just eating table food. With meat we still have to puree it, because she doesn’t have but two teeth and meat is hard to gum.

Kirsten Arianna didn’t cut her first tooth until she was just a couple of days shy of 10 months old. Teeth cutting is hereditary. If you or DH have someone in your family who cut teeth late that is why he doesn’t have any teeth yet. DH was 11 months before he got his first tooth and his brother was over a year old. At two his brother still only had four teeth.

I say like the other ladies… just keep offering Hank the solids.

As for the rolling I think Arianna was a little behind on it, but she is fine now. If your concerned ask your ped.

Hannah enjoy your weekend. How are the boys adjusting to the new situation?

LM let us know how Lucy is. It does sound like some kind of urinary tract infection.

Tracy I know a good bit of it was filmed in Atlanta. DH fraternity brother that lives in Atlanta actually got a part in it as an extra. I didn’t get to see any of the filming that happened here in WV. I can’t wait to see the movie though.

UT will have no problem beating MU. We looked AWFUL last week against WVU. We didn’t even show up. We almost beat UT a few years ago, but our quarterback got hurt. I think UT ended up winning by 3. It was a very good game.

Have fun in Memphis.

Mara I do the cut and paste thing sometimes. I do it both for spelling and so I won’t get caught “playing” on the internet. If you see misspellings it means I’m typing straight on the board. I’m a horrible speller, so I love spell check. Too bad the board doesn’t have it.

Well nothing was wrong with her they say. Dh said they took blood and a urine sample and everythign came back fine. The nurse said it was probably gas. But I dont know. She was shaking and was really goin on how it hurt. I thought it might be her appendix. But who knows. She seems fine now. I did make her get up and go to school this morning. She did fine. Im just goin to have to keep an eye on her.
Then I pulled up to get her from school and I seen her yellin at some girl. I could have cried. I dont like seein gher like that. SHes such a bully.
SO when the tieachers were walkin them back I asked if Lucy had been being mean and she said no. I asked Lucy about it and she said she was mad because the other girl was playing with someone else. God....I wouldnt want to be a kid again. Im glad Lucy is outspoken and dont take sh!t from any kid...but man.

Tracy-Hope you have fun this weekend.

Leslie-I STILL havent got my bloodwork done my RE ordered. I was goin to go today and forgot and had coffee..so I am goin tomorrow. It wouldnt suprise me if my thyroid is all f-ed up too.

Mara-Hey chicky. Congrats on being on top! You rock!

Sarah-Have fun at the dentist!

Leanna-I wasnt home when you messaged me. Maybe we can talk later! :D

Ok..I have to get the kdis fed. Sometimes I wonder how I could handle a third baby.. :?

Jeeez Michelle! What the heck are you feeding that kid??

Like I said from the very begining when the dr. said MY child was NOT gaining weight, but LOSING weight - that's not possible, have you looked at his parents? his grandparents? I thought to myself?! Anyhoo, I just stuck to the schedule the lc gave me. And I think cause his jaundice is pretty much cleared up, he's more awake, more alert, and actually wants to eat instead of sleep all the time.

btw: picking grapes sounds like a plan to me!

Hey girls I'm gonna post this over here and on the pregnancy thead since she really shouldn't even be here yet but Ireland is having surgery tomorrow morning. After tests and observation it's found that she has LRP which is a type of reflux where it comes all the way up into the throat and in her case the nose. It slams shut the epiglottis to prevent aspiration and she then turns blue drops her heart rate and sats. On top of that she's having brady's because of feeding issues and being uncoordinated and in the words of the neonatologist "premature and immature" So we're working with OT on the eating the surgery tomorrow is a Nissen Fundoplication. It is a last resort but what she had happen at home was considered a "near miss SIDS" and I can't bring he home wondering if today is the day I miss something. It's too scary. She's been on meds for 10 days with no improvement so I really believe this is the right decision. I'm scared to death. Please please please pray for her I'm so scared. I love her so much

Thank you all you wonderful ladies for your support!!!!!

I mis-typed Hank's age - he is nearly seven months old (now don't write back and say, "oh! well in that case he must be retarded!" - lol j/k)

We've been doing solids for about four weeks now. Earth's Best rice cereal and oatmeal w/breast-milk (he's just not that interested) bananas (he HATES them) prunes (he loves them) and sweet-potatoes (they're okay.) I bought a food-mill, so I just grind it up myself.

I'll read that article Leanna. I'm confsed about all this talk of stage1, stage2 foods, etc - how do I know which stage foods I am feeding my child?

We see the ped in two weeks for his next well-baby check up. If he's still not rolling over by then we'll talk about it.

Hannah: I want to know what Cohen is doing, because even though Hank is five weeks older, they had the same due-date, so that would be a good comparrison. Is he rolling over yet?

On a good note here are a few pics from her birth and her birth story :) I thought I'd finally get around to sharing them with ya'll. Basically her birth story is as follows. On July 12th I was admited to the perinatal unit because I had been having contractions and an u/s found that my cervix had shortened to 10mm and I was already 1cm dilated. I was 29 weeks 3 days. The next 22 days were a haze of terbutraline, insulin, steroids, magnesium and fluid boluses. It was crazy I kept a journal but wont bore you with it. On August 1st I started having contractions they couldn't control with terb anymore so they put me on magnesium. They hurt so bad I thought I was gonna die. They refused to give me pain medicine cause they didn't know if she was coming and they didn't wanna do an epidural unless she declared there was no stopping her. It was crazy! Finally after 24 hours of mag the ctx started to even out. They kept me on the mag for another 48 hours which brings us to August 3rd. I had been off the mag for 12 hours and it was time for Ireland to be monitored again, they put me on the monitor and I was still so exhausted from the mag I fell asleep. The next thing I know I'm awoken by my Dr. and the nurse and he says "There are two choices in OB keep her in take her out, she just declared it's time to take her out" She had had 5 late decels in a row, good thing I was on the monitor! The next 30 minutes were a blur. 8 nurses are in my room shaving me starting another IV squeezing in bags of fluid so I can get the spinal giving me pre op meds throwing scrubs at my DH and yelling at him to hurry up and get them on. Within 10 minutes I was in the OR another 5 the spinal was in and in another 10 she was out. Her apgars were 8 and 9 and I remember laying there begging for her to cry when she came out and when I heard her let out a wail I just started sobbing. They took her to the NICU and began her on the road we're on now. It's been so scary a journey. She has had so manyups and downs but I wouldn't trade her for anything she is amazing and I love and adore her so much!!!! Anyway here are her pics from her birth and her first days.

Oh and here is a pic of how bad you can look in the hospital at 32 weeks pregnant after being on Mag for 3 days  This was taken the morning she was born excuse how horrible I look and the hair lack of clothes etc.

Okay that's enough sorry to bore you all but there is my little beauty I'll get more recent pictures up soon. She's up to 7lbs. 6 oz. hard to believe she dropped down to 5lbs. 3 oz. at her lowest so she's gained 2lbs. and 3 oz. on mommas fortified milk :)

Sarah: Good, we are on the same page. I am seriously thinking about switching doctors. He is really nice and good with Willow, but we don’t see eye to eye on some important things. I trust my friend and his professor, I mean, they have had lots of training and schooling in nutrition and I think it makes more sense to listen to them. I also found out that the weight percentiles that the docs go by are taken from one town in Ohio in the 70’s. That they were all formula fed babies. Ummmm, okay... why are they still using those?? Anyway, thanks for the info. I am currently keeping track of everything she eats and doing a calorie count on her daily. (and fat, carbs and protein.) Just to make sure I am giving her what she needs.
My MIL also told me that when she was little and in school, she was very thin. She said she was constantly made fun of because she was so skinny. So, it could just be how she is. DH was a thin kid too.

Leslie: I wish I could help you with those numbers. Have you checked online??

Leanna/Mara: ADHD: My husband was diagnosed as ADD and he is the same way when he watches tv or plays video games. I think it is very important for those children to make an effort for group play and to get outside. Physical activity is especially important for them. DH’s counselor recommended he take karate, to help with concentration. ( I am still after him to do that)

Buttercup: hey our kiddos weigh the same! hmmm, funny how that has worked out. What has your doc told you to do about it? I have some great lentil recipes!! I will dig them out sometime soon and post them for you. I love lentils. That is what I am making for Willow right now.

Terra: sounds like a pretty wedding.

Kirsten: I don’t know what to say about henry doing things. It sounds like he is on track. Willow is still on the charts... she is below the 5th percentile. But she acts just find and she is way ahead on everything else.

Lisa: Hmmm, didn’t she have a bladder infection or something not that long ago? Maybe she has a stone of some kind? Kidney stone? Hmmm. . . they didn’t find anything eh?

Shayla: I hope the surgery goes well and that Ireland does well. Ahhh, she’s cute!

Well, that’s all for now....

have a great day!

Amy

I forgot to tell you I got a small promotion. I had an interview forthe Year 7, 2007 Year Advisor job and got it! I beat two other people for the job............................................... ..............I'm feeling like my old self again!

I think Piper is well on her way to walking  She took off at Gymboree today. About 7+ steps to get Gymbo--their clown mascott I guess you could call him. They all looked at me like when did she start walking? LOL

What are lentils? And why don't I know? hehe I'm really picky and it's probably just something I wouldn't eat :) Piper will eat anything right now, which is great. She ate a bean burritto from Taco Bell the other night. Not like the whole thing, but yuck!! She loves refried beans. I think she's mexican at heart--just like her Nana LOL

Tracy--Hey girl :D wasn't tryin to make you feel old LOL even I have a good 5yrs on those cheerleaders. Have a great trip to Memphis.

Leanna--good luck getting the rest of the house packed up. You guys will be picking grapes in no time!

Mara--I jot down notes on a piece of paper and type later.

Lisa--sorry they didn't find anything wrong, but I'm glad she's feeling like her old self again. It does sound like an infection or a stone, but if it was a kidney stone, they should have found blood in her urine. Not always visible with the naked eye, but can be seen on the microscope.

Shayla--Sounds like you are making the right decision. That is so scary what happened to her. Many prayers for your family and baby Ireland.
That is one roller coaster of a birth story too! Hopefully everything will settle down after the surgery. Please keep us posted.

Kirsten--I wouldn't worry about the different stages if you are making his food yourself. As the stage #'s go up, the food just gets thicker and then chunkier. That is just how they do the store bought stuff.

Hannah--I want to see new pics of your boys...and your new hottie!

Wow, lots of posts today and I was gone all day.

Shayla- I want you know know that you and your family are in my prayers. Leata had problems with reflux to the point where she was turning blue and not breathing. Pretty scary! It wasn't anything like Ireland is going through though. I will pray that the surgery goes smoothly and works for her.

Leslie- How is Arianna? I hope she is doing better.

Lisamarie- I hope that they are right andthat everything is ok with Lucy.

Amy- I think our little girls are fine. As long as Leata keeps gaining steadily I am not going to worry too much but I am going to keep an eye on her as is the doctor. When Leata was near 18 pounds at 12 months the doctor said she was in the 5th percentile. I want to know what chart he is using though. They have no charts for breastfed babies which is too bad because they do tend to be smaller and still healthy but then their are the ones that are big and stay big while being breastfed. There have to be kinds everywhere on that chart. I think that our little girls are just that, little. Me and all of my siblings were 18 pounds or less at a year old so she is just like us.

Hannah- I ma glad that you are feeling like youself again! That is great! Congrats on the year 7 advisor. That's exciting!

Terra- It's so fun to see them start to walk. As they get better they get to be so pleased with themsleves too. Our doctor said that Leata is the perfect definition of a toddler because of the way she walks. It's too funny.

The dentis appt went better then expected. He thought that both dh and I might need root canals and so far we are not thinking that either one of us will. My tooth that he was really concerned about looked a lot better in real life then it did on the x-ray and he was very happy about that. I had three fillings today and I go in first thing on Monday morning to get three more. DH had all six if his done. He was so numb. He couldn't talk at all at first. The dentist called us tonight to check and see how we were doing. He wanted to make sure that dh was ok because he said "when you left A.J. was so numb he didn't know if he was coming or going". He goes to church with us so we know him and his family and are friends with them. I wonder if he calls all of his patients that have a lot of work done or if he was just checking with us because he knew us. Either way I really like having a dentist that cares that much.

Leata got a rash today (I know you are all thinking, does it ever end? Does she make this stuff up?). She has roseola. The fever and appitite loss and sleeping all come and go before the rash shows up. She looks all red and splotchy today but she is looking better this afternoon. The high fever comes with roseola and makes them very uncomfortableand can cause seizures. Fortunatly that didn't happen. She has been grumpy today but I am hoping she feels better by tomorrow. My grandparents and Aunt will be here then and my Aunt will be staying with us and loves babies and struggled with infertility and was only able to have one so she loves "barrowing" babies. We are thinking we might take advantage of that and go to a movie or something.

OK, my mouth is so sore from having it open so long so I am going to go take a pain killer and go to bed!

Well Thursday night we went to Hannah's open house at her preschool. She said all day I am not going to school I am staying home with mommy. I was so emotional. I know its good for her but I still want to protect her so she doesn't have days of being scared or bullied or tired and want mom. I just have spent the past 3 years going through so many surgeries and medical stuff and I just want to keep her from anymore pain or uneasiness. And I know I am more hormonal from being pregnant too but this is so damn hard. I know silly she has to go to school eventually and I know she will love it. She is testing at a six year level in some things so she really needs to be in school being home with mom is boring she needs more challenge. So Friday morning she wakes up and says I want to go to school mommy. We spent the whole day saying no not today. We went shopping for her school stuff. She needed a backpack which is hard to find the smaller ones the large ones go down to her ankles. Then a soft sided lunch box. They apparently don't make the plastic ones with thermos's anymore. That another thing I worry about will she eat what I send? She gets to pick and choose here I don't want her to not eat and be hungry.
Then we got her two blankets for nap time one to lay on and one to cover with. And we had to buy a sleeping mat at her school for $2. So now she is all ready and carrying her bookbag around everywhere. She has told everyone that I am going to school so she is excited. Mom however is going to bawl like a baby come Tuesday morning.

Went to lunch with a friend yesterday and she brought the baby she nanny's for this kid is SIX MONTHS and weighs 26#! My daughter is 3 and weighs around 30#. So half way through lunch after holding the kid while she went to the bathroom etc etc. I see these bumps on her legs and arm and said what is that. She says Oh I think she has chicken pox. I was like well gee thanks wish I had known that before we met. She is like why Hannah had the chicken pox shot hasn't she. I was like well for one I am pregnant and two suppose Hannah hadn't had it you have just exposed us both. So anyone know if this will affect me being pregnant? I had chicken pox very mild in like 7-8th grade. I don't care if Hannah gets them I just don't want any probs.

Good morning. Up earlier than I really prefer on a Saturday but someone (Jack) didn't like the sound of sleeping in! DH is at the new house picking grapes and Bonnie is still sleeping.

Leslie- Have fun at the ball game!!

Shayla- Ireland is beautiful. Your family has been through so much... I hope her surgery is a huge success and you bring her back home very soon!!

Kirsten- I use a food mill too. Jack's only having solids once a day right now, I'll use the blender to make big batches when he starts eating more. Cooked carrots are another great first... esp if Hank's eating sweet potatoes. The stages are marketing by the baby food companies, just think of them as mushy, mushier and mushiest. :) If you have one of those baby spoons with a looped handle, I'd let Hank hold onto it in the high chair while he's watching you guys eat... nothing will get him interested in food quicker than copying you!!

Amy- Hi! I'd like to see some yummy lentil recipes too! When did you start giving beans and lentils to Willow?

Hannah- Congrats on the promotion!

Terra- Hehe lentils are legumes... same family as beans and peas. They cook really quickly and are super nutritious. Tasty little things. That's fun about Piper walking! Jack's getting up on his hands and knees rocking/scooting. Wish I could freeze him at this stage for a little while!

Sarah- Glad the dentist appointments went better than expected!

Wantingbaby#2- Sounds like Hannah is ready for school! It's hard letting them go. I worried about Bonnie's eating at school, because at home she eats when she is hungry, not at a set time. She had problems the first week or so and was coming home starving with food still in her lunchbox. She's learned to sit down and eat at lunch time now, my little conformist. With the chickenpox... I'm not sure but I think once you can see the blisters it's no longer contagious, which is why it spreads so quickly.

Well the coffee is starting to soak into my brain, so I think I'll start getting some stuff done around here. We have a company dinner this evening with DH's coworkers. Nothing exciting, but almost like a night out since Bonnie will stay at my mom's. Little boob man will come with. Tomorrow we're meeting with the vineyard/winery owners who buy the grapes from our place and make it into wine. Hoping to continue the business relationship. Either that or I'll be making a bunch of jelly next year. Happy Saturday!

If you cna avoid contact with Chicken Pox while pregnant you are best off doing so but you come in contact with so much stuff you don't know about....plus once the rash is ther eI think it's not as contagious. Ironically you are most "dangerous" before there are obvious symptoms.

Leanna - Ta!

Everyone who has congratulated me on my little promotion, ta. It's a small step financially right now but a big step for the future. I also wasnt going to take on extra stress with what happened this year but I thought "f*&^ him, I'll keep progressing thanks!" I feel so empowered right now....

Though I'm crnaky at my new boyfriend...our plans for the weekend totally fell through. I hate dating again and wondering where I do actually stand............................................. .........

Hey girls! Just a note to some....I have to get going on cleaning my house. Mom just called and they decided yesterday to leave N.Carolina this morning at 7:30am.... they're on their WAY!!!! :D :D :D I am SOOOOOOO psyched!!!! Can't wait for them to get here! They are stopping in P.A. for overnight tonight and should get here about 3pm tomorrow! I am sooo happy that they will get to see the kids for a while. They'll be staying w/ us of course./ It will be a bit cramped but I could care less!!! YEAY!!! (I'm such a kid huh?) :D Oh well! YEAY!!!! :D :D :D

Hanna- I am so happy and proud for you that you have clearly made it evident that you can more than succeed on your own! ...However, be careful not to rush into anything and lose yourself so quickly again....you just began to find out what a wonderful, strong, intelligent and beautiful woman that you are. :P (Speaking from experience), I am glad this cutie brings some happiness into your life...just don't let it consume the new and the old you who you are just barely re-discovering....anyway! sorry for the overprotectiveness....but you are our friend! :D Congratulations on the job promotion!!!! YEAY!!! :D

Sorry to all you girls w/ sick kids you are all in my prayers!

Piper is so rotten at this stage in the game, but so so cute! LOL oh the concentration she has while planning her next move. :D

Sarah--I'm glad that you and DH did not have to get the root canals. Hope Leata's rash clears up soon.

WB2--I'm sure Hannah will enjoy going to school and love the new challenges it will bring her. She's such a smart girl!

Leanna--yeah, I probably wouldn't eat lentils...not a bean fan at all--only green beans. I will try to do bette by Piper LOL she already eats things that I wouldn't. I hope she keeps it up.

Corinna--Have fun with your mom!

We are off to a concert at our church. Our associate pastor is playing some live music that he wrote. He just released his 1st CD and I think they will be recording a live on tonight. Piper can go and get her groove on. :)

Slow morning on the board!! It's a nasty, stormy day here. No fun at all. I've been doing more packing. I can't believe how much stuff we have crammed into corners, closets, etc. :(

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. Ours was just plain busy. We were gone pretty much all weekend which means we didn't get anything done in the way of getting this place closer to go on the market.

I think I'll go forage for some lunch. Need to go grocery shopping but I just hate getting the baby out in this nasty weather. Have a nice day ladies!

Nope, didn't run off and join Hell's Angels. Still haven't gotten a tattoo, so I don't think they'd let me join, anyways.

I didn't have even a minute this weekend to even call Tracy, let alone get together. I was so bummed...really wanted to meet her and the family. We frequent the same paths, so I'm hoping a better planned trip in the future will allow us to meet.

We got to my BF's shower right on time (12-noon), but it didn't really start until 1, because her DH was out getting the food!! He wanted it to be fresh  . Then, Matt fell asleep in their nursery to the official nursery-tour was also late. We didn't get to the hotel until 4:30, then had to be back to the house by 6. Had to get up early on Sunday, get breakfast and hit the road to be back home Sunday evening. Was a whirlwind, but nobody in her entire family showed (I think she was bummed), so we were glad that we went. Although, we won't be making such a quick, long trip like that any time again soon.

Today is DH's birthday. We're going to have dinner/cake maybe Wednesday night because I didn't have a chance over the weekend to get anything together. Will give him his present (I did the wallet full of giftcards again) tonight, though.

I did do an interesting experiment this weekend, though. Was in a hurry to pack on Friday evening, so I didn't bother to take my new face-wash stuff. I just grabbed the neutrogena (which I loved in the past). Used it over the weekend and my skin looks TERRIBLE. Used the new stuff again last night and it already looks better. Won't make that mistake again. I knew my skin looked better, but didn't realize HOW IMPORTANT it was!!

Matt's 15-month appt is tomorrow, so I'm going to take vacation, spend the day with him and get him to his appt. My mom is having new carpet installed anyways, so it's a perfect coincidence.

Gotta run -- really busy around here today for some reason!?!

Hope everyone is doing well...

So I spoke too soon. My dentist appt today did not go well. I had the start of a root canal and I have to go back on Friday to finish it off and get a crown. No fun at all! My numbness is just starting to wear off and I am starting to feel pain. The dentist gave me a prescription for pain killers and told me that there is only about a 10% chance I will need them but if I am already feeling pain I fear this is going to be a long week. I don't know how we are going to pay for all of this!

I saw my grandparents this weekend. It's been really hard. Neither if them are doing well and it looks like grandpa probably won't be around too much longer. I am so close to this set of grandparents. My grandma relys on my grandpa so much for everything and since she has Alzheimer's it is going to be even harder for everyone when he passes away. She will constantly be asking for him. She's 85 years old and they have been married for 55 years.

Leata's rash is gone but she seems to have turned in to a monster over night. Temper tantrums and attitude to no end. She bit me the other night (the first time she has done that) because she was in a bad mood and I just put her to bed. Sheesh. She thinks she is grown up and should be allowe to dso whatever she wants to.

Ok...got Emma to sleep.

Fussy baby. SHe ate at 630 this morning..cereal and bottle and I was about a half hour to forthyfive minutes late on feeding her when we got home and she didnt seem excited to eat...so I think she isnt feeling well.

Went to Walmart while Lucy was at school. My lands...I sh!t you not. I spent 178 dollars! And I went over my receipt again and the only thing I got that we didnt need is a new bra for me.
But we needed all the laundry soap and I got two cans of formula. Geez...

Tracy-Yeah right..you just didnt want to meet TracyR! Just admit it! LOL! Im teasin.....So a wallet full of giftcards eh???? Pretty nifty.

Sarah-that sucks about your rootcanal/crown. Ive had two or three of those done(cant remember) and I had no trouble at all. But I hate to take pain pills...and I do have a high pain tolerance. lol but Im sure its no fun at all.
Oh about Leatas temper. Lucy started to get like that at her age. Sometimes I felt like my child was possessed. lol Then she did good for a year or so ...and now she is back to the mean little Lucy I dont care for. Hmmph..hope it ends soon.

Ok.....Im sleepy. I need to get up and do some things.

Tracy!! I am so bummed we didn't get to meet! I left your phone number on the email you sent me and had no access to the internet to get it once we got to my friends' house with the pool...I swear I am so stupid sometimes. I left the baby's forumula and diapers at home, and had to buy more when we got to memphis....yikes.

We ended up leaving at 445 and DH and I got into a HUGE battle on the way home b/c we stopped to get gas and Misty and I went into the store to get some snacks, and according to DH, we took too long, and "how dare Misty go to the bathroom when we know we are on a schedule to get home so we can watch Georgia football, how inconsiderate are we?!" Men...I want to strangle them and kick them sometimes. Thats a great idea about wallet full of gift cards..I might have to steal that.

Sarah, I am sorry to hear about your grandparents. I only have one grandparent left, my grandma, and she is seriously losing it. My grandma cleans my mom's house (my grandma is ODD about cleaning and needs to make extra money) and her and my step dad were talking, and were talking about my cousin (my mom's sister's child) and he mentioned how gorgeous she would be if she could get her teeth fixed (she is 17 and her mom wont let her get braces)...so what does my grandma do??? she goes and tells my cousin that my stepdad says that, IN FRONT OF HER FRIENDS AND SISTER!!!! My step dad is furious with her.....

Leanne, I want to see pics of your new home. I bet it is incredible.

Leslie and I were just "talking" this morning about men and how their schedules totally override the needs of the kids/babies. I guess it's a selfish, guy-thing!?! Dunno -- every so often, I just let throw a huge fit and then glare like "i told ya so". He seems to get the point, atleast temporarily. I have to be "mega-b!tch" every time, though!!

Well, we weren't talking like voices, we were talking like email. So, I put the bunny-ears, because explaining emailing was too long to type and too hard to spell :)

I did think of you yesterday somewhere in Northern MS or AL!?! There was a truck, with a girl driving. She had the "BACK OFF" mudflaps, but instead of Yosemite Sam, it was Tweety. They were actually very cute!!

I like your I LOVE HALLOWEEN, signature. I need to get my stuff out soon, too. I got parts last year (in Nov!!) for me being a black-cat. I know the outfit wasn't complete, but I cannot remember which parts I still need to make. With our schedules as crazy as they are lately, I figured I'd better get started now or I'll probably be one of those tail-less cats!!

Hey ladies!

Just wanted to drop in and try to catch up a little bit.

Shayla - I'm so glad you updated us on everything and I will be praying so much for Ireland. Please keep us posted!! And I love her pictures, especially the one with her little eyes opened! Too cute!

For the mommas out there with lactose intolerant babies, how did the dr decide they were lactose intolerant? Emma is worrying me. She keeps spitting up, and I'm not talking the little spittle that all babies do, I'm talking throwing up her entire bottle. It didn't start out projectile, but it's getting to be more that way. I'm feeding her mostly breast milk with a little bit of formula. She hasn't gained barely any weight the past few weeks either. She throws up a lot in her sleep too to the point that I can't lay her down. And very gassy too, even with lots of burps during her bottle. I don't eat anything that would irritate her that I can think of, the only thing I haven't cut out completely is dairy. Somebody help!

JAMIE
09-11-2006, 02:45 PM
Cristen - I know all about this subject unfortunately! Aiden is HIGHLY allergic to milk & also soy...they have to run a test on their stool - it's really easy and they do it in the office...what they look for is blood in the stool that isn't visible and that indicates a milk intolerance...they switched Aiden to Enfamil Nutramagin and I noticed a huge difference within about a week...he would projectile breastmilk - I also tried Enfamil Lipil and Enfamil Gentlease. You'll have a much happier baby if that's the problem & they make a formula switch...I hear that taking dairy out of your diet if breastfeeding helps.

lisamarie
09-11-2006, 02:52 PM
Man it seems like there are ALOT of kids with reflux and milk allergies. What causes this? It sounds horrible for the baby. That sucks.

Cristen-Hey chick! Glad to see you check in!

Jaime-There you are! Whats shakin???

I know its early to even think of this...but they did a secret santa thing over on the TTC board last year. Do any of you want to do it here on the Moms board?????????? Or we can do it now and have a secret pal. Like send a special recipe you like...or note pad...or stickers....ANYTHING. Just simple...and then that person will be your Christmas secret pal and it will be revealed THEN! lol I know IM too excited. If anyone is interested.....maybe we can all start this the begingning of October. Just let me know..and if you arent interested..you wont by any means hurt my feelings. hehe

LM - hi there sweetie :D sorry I've been really out of the loop lately...what's new!! Work has been SO crazy and at home even more! Aiden now has decided that he wants to be awake from the hours of midnight - 4:00 a.m. every night so I am dragging some major a$$ these days. He wakes up & wants to play but his room is next to ours so I hear him chattering away in there.

Tried Aiden on stage 2 this weekend (chicken) yeah not good! He was spitting it up all day & every time he did I wanted to ralph...that stuff just smells like alpo...poor little guy! so I think I'll take a break from that and try again in a few weeks? anyone else had the same experience when trying the meats...I'm just not sure if it's Aiden's touchy belly?

TracyR I so understand about the selfish DH. You might want to checkout my poll and ready my selfish DH story.

I am so ready for my vacation. We leave for the beach on Friday, and I can't wait. I haven't even started to get stuff ready, so I'd say it's going to be a long week. It will be worth it though.

Never did figure out what Arianna's fever was from, but she seems fine now. Weird.

She is standing well on her own now. She will even hold a toy while standing. When she wants to move she just easily sits down and starts crawling though, so we still aren't to walking yet. She loves to walking holding on to something, but isn't brave enough to try on her own yet.

She's talking up a storm though. At this point besides mama and daddy she says hello, cookie, duck, fish, keys, bear, two, three, Pappy and there may be a couple of others that I'm not thinking of right now. She doesn't say one, but she will hold up one finger now. I'm trying to teach her to hold up one finger when you ask her how old she is. Hopefully we will be able to accomplish this by her birthday. Also, if you say hello to her she will hold her little hand up to her ear like she's holding a phone and say hello. They are just amazing at this age.

Well, this was an all about me post, but I gotta run right now. Catch you all later.

Alright ladies. I am getting ready to go to bed. I have to get up extra early in the morning, b/c my idiot boss is making us drive four hours south for a three day "training" at a desolate SUMMER CAMP....We got a grant for 10k to train staff and it has to be used by the end of this month, so they "pocketed" the $$$ and are using staff to train one another and letting us stay at a summer camp with no tv, no telephone, and no cell phone service/towers. I am royally ticked off, but I have to go....I gotta play my cards right and be a good girl.

Corrina, sorry your babies are sick. I hope they get better soon.

Cristen, good to see ya girlie...How is that precious bundle of yours?

Jamie, sorry, I don't have any advice for you. Kally eats everything and anything...She is so not particular. Good luck!

LisaMarie: I am about to do low carb, too. I am eating less than ever but i am gaining weight not losing it....URG!! So frustrating....

Oh my I think i have a colicky baby!!! Help!

I know several people who had colicky babies. Some things that I remember they said helped were gripe water and if you use bottles, the dr brown's bottles. I saw the gripe water at babies r us but I have not used either of those things myself. Good luck...I don't know what I would do.

Gavin was a beast today! My mom said she has a sore throat today and we were there all weekend so it may be that but I also noticed that he was chewing toys that he usually wouldnt today so he may be really teething.

We went out to dinner with Mike's mom, her boyfriend and his youngest brother this weekend. I really can't stand them and I dread seeing them after how horrible they made my 1st day home from the hospital. His mom got Gavin an eagles jersey and other sporty clothes which makes Mike thrilled but I hate putting him in that stuff. I on the other hand went on a little shopping spree. I got Gavin some really cute stuff at the carters store. I got him a really hute halloween and a thanksgiving outfit. The thanksgiving one says "my little turkey." I just love that. Then, I went out with my grandmother who bought him a bunch of stuff at the oshkosh and children's place outlets. This kid has so much clothes! I think that I may be starting with a shopping addiction....literally!

I was telling you all about how I have not gotten my period but I have been having cramping on and off for a bit now....still the same. I have an appt at the ob/gyn next month. I think my hormones are off because when they are off I get very emotional. All day sunday I was emotional like I was when I came home from the hospital. It was terrible.

Has anyone tried the new pampers baby dry flex? or the new huggies? I tried the pampers flex and I like 'em!

Lisamarie~ I need to do something too. I feel totally gross. On top of being just plain fat right now I have all of this extra skin. My stretch marks are moving closer and closer to the center of my belly and getting a little smaller finally. But when they get smaller they are wrinkly. I want a tummy tuck after I am done having kids. I hate my skin!

Well, I better go to bed. I am afraid Gavin may get up in the night not feeling well.

Lisa - I have to lose weight. I have been not really journalling. So I started that today. I am going to to the low low carbs as well. I did great on Southbeach for the 2 weks I was on. I lost 10lbs. I had no motivation to keep going past the two weeks even though you can introduce more regular foods after 2 weeks. I like WW better - it is slow..but works. And I can eat what I want generally.

Ok this is TMI but I have this huge honkin zit and it looks like I have a second chin....ouchie!!! I hate talking to people b/c I swear they're drawn to looking at it - and to boot I have to teach aerobics today so that will be so cute with the lights & mirrors to show it off....maybe I'll turn off the lights today...lol

Hey girls! :)

Surgery went very well! I'm so relieved we did it, she has been so much more comfortable, no desats no brady's no blue spells. She has been sleeping better and can breastfeed now without it all coming out her nose!!!! :) She developed a murmur after surgery so she's having an echocardiogram but as long as that is okay she's coming home TODAY!!! :) I'm so excited and so nervous, I can't believe she's almost 6 weeks old and she's only been home for 3 days. Here are some new pics of her and the surgery. It was too cool that they did it laparascopically and the surgeon gave us photos

Leanna: I think it was around eight months when I started Willow on beans, then later for lentils. Sometimes she likes them, sometimes not. Right now she doesn’t seem to like anything.... except blueberries.

Bella: I am sooo sorry if you do have a colicky baby! Mine was one too. It is allot of work and allot of walking, riding in the car, rides on washing machine, running the vacuum, oh my.....
I don’t miss those days. I am not trying to make you feel worse. The good thing is, is will get better in time. Are you breastfeeding?? If so... you may want to try to eliminate dairy from your diet. It helped with us. You get rid of all dairy for two weeks, then if she is better, you s-l-o-w-l-y start to add it back in. She may just be very gassy , you can try the gripe water, I have heard it helps some babies. Mine didn’t tolerate it at all. There was a time when Willow would only sleep on my. So I would sleep on the couch, with her on her belly, on my chest. I know... I know... you are probably gasping and thinking WHAT????? It was the only way either of us could get some sleep. We also did bed sharing. I kicked DH out of bed and just slept with her. I don’t recommend it to everyone. It can also be a hard habit to break, but it worked for us at the time. My doctor also prescribed Willow some medication for the colic. I will have to go back and look up what it was called again. Hycosomine Sulfate or something... anyway I will check for you. If it becomes too much.... or rather before it does..... enlist the help of your friends and family. Have them come and relieve you from time time. Having a colicky baby is very stressful.... don’t feel bad for needing that time for yourself. Feel free to email me if you want someone to talk to ......... theladyannabel@hotmail.com

Kelli: I have always preferred Baby Dry Pampers, but now they are even better!!! I love Gavin’s pic on your ticker!

Shayla: That is sooo Great!!!! Glad everything went well.

TexasRed: I could not and still cannot live without her having a pacifier. I am still breastfeeding and I started a pacifier at less than a week old. Willow had terrible gas and she needed to suck, she would try to nurse constantly and then throw it all up everywhere. So, I am pro pacifier!!

Hi everyone else!! Hope everyone is having a great day.

Hey ladies...Sorry I don't have much time to write- Just wanted to post, for those of you who were asking, DH's knee surgery is scheduled for next Tuesday (19th). It is an outpatient surgery so hopefully it won't take too long. Dh is super nervous as he has never even had stitches  "I keep telling him to buck up you wuss! " While it may be a big deal (He is basically having reconstructive surgery) It's not the same as 2 C-sections  Men can be such babies some times   Now if we could just get the financial end of this stupid surgery taken care of  ! Since the injury happened while DH was "working" we were hoping workmans comp insurance would cover it. Well guess what? The church dosen't have workmans comp! DH and I checked into it and apparently they are supposed to have it but the churches lawyer told them it wasn't required because they were a non profit. Then later the lawery came back and told our Sr Pastor "Well workmans comp is not required but we strongly suggest our clients get it anyway. " Our Sr Pastor was miffed. He was like "Umm... WHEN were you going to suggest this?!" Well that lawyer ought to be fired for giving out false information because the state says it IS required!! Grrr! So now the church is planning on getting workmans comp but it's a little too late for DH  We are stuck footing the bill for $4,000 (detuctable and 20% co-pay) plus whatever else our lousy insurance dosen't feel like paying for  I guess the church is planning on taking a collection to help defray some of the costs- Hopefully it will be enough otherwise we are going to have to sell DH's body to medical research to pay for the surgery
Anyway hope you are all having a good day. Hope those of you who are sick or have sick babies recover soon!

Praying for God to bless you all!

Mara - I heard Anna Nicole's son died of a massive heart attack in the maternity ward of the hospital she had her daughter at. So sad...

Bella - I'm sorry about the colic, we're still dealing with that, but it has gotten somewhat better if that gives you hope! Laying her on her tummy over my legs seemed to help her if you haven't tried that yet.

Aleida - good to hear from you! Isn't it crazy our maternity leaves are already almost up?? Where did the time go??

Shayla - I'm so glad surgery went well, and keep the pics coming! What were the middle two pictures of?

Hello to all you other sexy mommas!

Has anybody's babies ever had a test done where they have the baby drink Barium and x-ray their digestive systems to see how the food goes down? Emma is probably going to get one done tomorrow in hopes of finding a reason why she's spitting up so much. They think the flap in between her esophagus and tummy isn't shutting so that's why everything keeps coming back up. So this test is going to let them watch to see if that's happening I guess. Wish us luck. :?

Cristen Arianna had an upper GI a couple of months ago. She was older, so it was pretty tramatic for her and me. They say younger babies do better with it. Arianna would not drink the barium from a bottle, so they had to syringe feed it to her. If you'd like I can give you more details about the procedure. I don't want to go into a ton of details and scare you unless you really want to know. Honestly I wished I had been more prepared for what the test was going to be like.

No time to post personals right now. I just wanted to answer Cristen real quick. Hopefully I'll be back later.

I'm here, I'm here.

Was on vacation yesterday because my Mom was having new carpet installed at her house (would be too loud for Matt's nap) and he had his 15-month checkup.

He did really well. Really fell in love with the nurse. She was SO pretty and he really took to her. Then, she gave him three shots and he was done with her. Men!!

My petite, little flower weighs 26 pounds and is 31.25 inches tall. So, he's a big 'un. His head is still big too (95th percentile). They tell me every time like I'm going to be shocked. I knew he had a big head, I delivered him!!

But, we got a good report and will have to go back to a happy (non-shot) appointment at 18 months (december). Whew -- glad to get that one behind us.

Otherwise, I hope all of the ladies with sick babies or hubbies (buttercup) are hanging in there. My brother had colic and he was close to being an only child!!

Better get some stuff done since I wasn't here yesterday. Rainy, cool day here...so it's sorda nice to be inside, anyways.

Will be back...

Buttercup: I don’t know how the hospitals are in Idaho, but here in southern Illinois you can get help with you bills. I don’t know what your financial situation is like. But if you are on the low side, like most of us, you should be able to go into the cashier’s or financial office of the hospital and tell them you need help or are going to need help with your bill. I think you usually have to get denied by public aid first, but usually they will comp some or all of your bill. Like I said, I don’t know if they do that there, but it would be worth a try!!

Hi everyone!

I found a deer tick on the back of Willow’s neck yesterday. It was soooo tiny. I thought it was a mole. And I was like.... she didn’t have a mole there before. Do moles just show up?? Then I had DH look at it and sure enough... it was a tick. We got it out. I think we got the head, but it is so tiny that I can’t really tell. I can’t find any of my magnifying glasses. Called and talked to a nurse this morning and they said to just keep an eye on the spot, make sure it doesn’t get red. Fingers crossed.

So honestly, please tell me what you would do in this situation.
Willow is not eating very well. Yesterday she drank about 2oz of milk and 2oz of juice and a bit of water, not much. She picked at food all day, but didn’t eat much at all. She is still constipated. I am still giving her blueberries everyday (which is what she eats the most of nowadays... about 1 cup a day.) WIC and her doctor have me giving her all this fat and protein and I think it is making her constipation worse. My question is.... is she not wanting to eat because she knows it makes her poop? And since pooping hurts her..... maybe she made the connection?? I don’t know what else to do. Meal times are just becoming a huge headache and stress for me, because she won’t eat. I wish we could just go back to our normal food and routine. I feel like I am constantly following her around the house with food. Should I ignore the doctor and just let her do whatever... should I get another doctor’s opinion? Should I take her back in for the constipation? My worry is that there is actually something else wrong with her digestive system. This has been going on for at least 5 months. Her current doctor just doesn’t seem to hear me when I tell him about her constipation. GRRRRRRRRRR.

What would you do?

Amy

I believe their appetites are supposed to decline considerably at a year, just because they're walking (or close to it) and they're too busy to stop and eat. The dehydration would worry me, though.

Will she eat prunes? They work magic for Matt. That'd help with the constipation, atleast temporarily.

I wouldn't think a baby could make the eat / poop connection, but I'm amazed every day how smart these kids are (Matt can now open our dishwasher!!).

Personally, I'd focus on what she does like and try not to worry about the rest. Matt's been a picky-eater all along and I know your stress around mealtime. We tried everything (yes, he eats in front of the tv with Sesame Street playing!!) and are just now succeeding with getting some food in him.

Good Luck!!

Amy - I have a picky eater myself. I am feeding him food sthat help with pooping incl prunes, blueberries and pears. I also give him fennel tea to drink and 2-3oz of water a day. He won't take any kind of juice. The prunes I mix with his blueberries at 1:3 ratio. It has helped.

Funny I read this today in an email re: growth:

Constipation: defined as the passage of hard, pellet-like stools that cause pain or bleeding (groaning or straining is normal) and not so much by how often your infant has a bowel movement (some breastfed babies only have one BM each week). Initial treatment is by giving 2-4 ounces of water or diluted prune juice once or twice a day or by changing to a soy based formula.

I always thought if he didn't poop for the day or a couple of days he was constipated.

What type of high fat stuff is the dr. making her eat? And I am sorry if i can't remember - how is she on the growth charts?

Amy- Leata is almost exactly the same. She has not been wanting to eat much and she has problems with constipation. I was gonna write and ask questions similar to your questions. Her constipation started when she was about 10 months old so it has been going on for 7 months. We have taken her to the doctor specifically for the constipation and he gave us some medicine to help her relax while she is pooping. That helped a little but not much. Leata only has a BM once every three or four days. Sometimes it's longer. I was worried there was something else wrong with her digestive system too that might have something to do with her constipation and her not gaining weight. I think Leata is probably below 17 pounds now. The doctor really seems to think that it is not a big problem. She is uncomfortable though and I think that is a big problem. Prunes don't even help anymore. He said that normally he suggests parents give their kids very little or no juice but in her case with her being so tiny and constipated that Juice can help with that. That would be great if she would drink the juice. I hadn't given her much juice in the past and now she seems to not really care for it. When we do get a good amount of juice in to her it does help though. Maybe it is because she hasn't had much juice before.

I don't know why Leata doesn't want to eat. She really loved just about any food there was other then tomato sauce a few weeks ago. I think that kids appetites decline some around a year old. Leata is being rediculous though. She was eating less before she got sick then when she got sick she wouldn't eat anything but we finally got her to take pedialyte popsicle (those things are expensive!). Now she is better and still doesn't want ot eat anything.

Extra fat and protein can make constipation worse so that could be a problem. I have not started giving Leata extra fat and protein for that reason. I think for now that I would give her what she likes to eat. Two days ago Leata decided she wanted vanilla wafers. She ate a bunch. After a while I decided that was enough but she was not too happy with me when I took the box away. Oh, that is another problem. Leata now wants to eat things right out of the box that they come from or the pan that we good them in. Silly girl.

If you are uncomfortable with your doctor ignoring the constipation issues then I would talk to another doctor. My doctor addressed it but just told us to feed her food high in fiber and he gave us this medicine for when it get s really bad and said that a lot of times kids this ages have constipation and we would keep an eye on it but he didn't think it was something to worry about too much and at some point it would pass. I have noticed recently that after she really didn't eat anything all day the other day she had a softer BM. I wondered if maybe not eating all day and just drinking some water and pedialyte helped cleanse her system and helped her. Yesterday Leata drank a little soy milk, maybe 4 ounces, a little juice, maybe an ounce and finally dh was able to get her to eat a handfull of peas and a couple of bites of yogurt. She had to feed herself. That was it. That is all that she ate yesterday.

Tracy- Leata was 18 pounds at her 15 month appt and 30 inches. She is my delicate little flower, lol. It sounds like Matthew is doing great! Leata's nurse told us we get to come in for a fun appointment at 18 months because there were no shots then. Leata did not like it when they gave her the shots either but the sucker they put in her mouth soon after shut her up pretty quickly.

LM- That's too funny that Lucy said that! Kids will do that too ya though.

Hi to everyone else.

I have been in so much pain because of my tooth I have taken every opportunity I can to just sleep so that is why I haven't been on much.

Leata now has her eight front teeth and four molars. I can hardly believe it! I was writing down the word she says a lot and this is what I got: mama, dada, mom, dad, kitty cat, teeth, fish, bye bye, A.J., ouch, what's that?, done, all done, juice, yum, wet, no, yeah, want some, me some, Leata, eye, hey!, toys, more, kiss and then she also says more, please, thank you and finished in sign language. Also, I was whistling a few weeks ago and she startedto whistle. I thought it was a fluke but she has been doing it ever since. It is too funny to see this tiny little girl walking around whistling!

Ok, she is still sleeping so I think I will go and hop in the shower now!

morning mommas!

It is *almost* getting cooler here. I went outside to put the trash out this morning at 10am and there was a slight hint of a cool breeze. Maybe at 6 or 7am there was one. Had Mason woke up early enough for a feeding I *might* have taken him for a walk. LOL, he was up at 5:30am, I went right back to sleep - oh well, I had good intentions.

Dh and I had a huge fight last night. It all started over the stupid diaper genie being full and he suggested I should have emptied it. You know the fight is never about what it starts about. Basically it boils down to him not feeling like he is a part of things, like he's a third wheel. He says all he does is come home hold Mason for a bit, change a few diapers and that's it. I on the other hand am with him all day long, bf him, etc. I don't know how to answer that - uh, what do you want to do? start lactating so you can bf? I'm not making light of the situation, but he's really upset. I was just seeing it as he was annoyed by things, like when he holds Mason sometimes he;d fuss, or he changed diapers in the evenings. I think we pretty much kissed and made up though. Any of you go through something like this?

Sorry no personals, Mason is fussing!!!

I honestly think he needs to get over himself. He can have time with Mason at night by giving him baths....playing with him...changing him. Just because you are the only one to feed him doesnt me he is being left out...to me thats babyish.
If you feeding Mason and he cant makes him feel like the third wheel then he needs to find something Mason and him do alone. Whether it be go work in the garge for awhile(well him take Mason with him) Or listen to music with him. My dh used to do this all the time with LUcy. It was called 'Daddy and Lucy' time.

Dont let him make you feel guilty for spending so much time with your sweet boy and for you boob feeding.
You had one baby not two when you gave birth. So let dh figure out what to do with his son and tell him this chick in Indiana gets mad when he messes with my TexasRed friend!!!! LOL!

Hey there Lisa :D I'm back. I actually went to work for 2 days in a row. Taylor was staying with Grandpa.

Sarah--Sorry that your grandparents aren't doing so well. Ouch on the bite! Hopefully that will be the last time! Wow Leata is getting quite the vocabulary now :D Piper is more of the quiet type right now. She's an observer and doesn't talk a whole lot. She is walking really well though! She made it all the way down our hall way the other day. I have 15sec video clip of it. I think I will try and post it somewhere you ladies can see it.

Corinna--I hope you and the kids are feeling better.

Bella--We have a brand new baby at work has colic. I guess she's cried nonstop for the past 12 weeks. She sleeps really well, but is always crying when she's awake. I found a few things that works well for her. One is what we call the "colic hold" (yeah creative) Ok so it's like the opposite of the cradle bfing position. Instead of her facing you, have her back against your tummy and lay her head facing away from you on your arm. I'm not sure what it is, but that is her magic position. I would try the gripe water too. Yesterday we were also using a teddy bear that played sounds from the womb. This baby was also a 5 week preemie. Good luck with it.

Shayla--I'm so happy that the surgery went well for her! And now you can take your baby girl home! Can't wait to see more pics.

Buttercup--That's terrible the lawyer didn't tell them they needed work comp! Hopefully the congregation will come together and collect enough $$ to pay for all of the surgery. Let us know how things go next week.

Tracy--Sounds like Matt is good size :D And it could be worse...he could have been born with a head that was in the 100th percentile LOL

Amy--I doubt she's made the connection between eating and pooping. I would try the prunes and other high fiber foods. She's probably just going through a picky stage. But I don't think it would hurt to get a 2nd opinion about the constipation or lack of poop. I let Piper have up to 4oz of juice, but not always every day. Right now she is drinking V8 splash with her snack. She loves it. It has less sugar than the gerber baby juice and is loaded with vitamins. So I think that is a healty alternative.

Ok gotta go and fill out these party invitations!

Terra- Leata was a late walker but an early talker. Now she does both really well but it hasn't been too long on the walking.

Shayla- I keep meaning to write to you and then I get distracted. I am so glad that things went well for little Ireland. What a relief that must be to you. Hos is she doing now? Did she get to come home yet? I hope that she is home and doing well.

Buttercup- What a pain. I hope that your dh's surgery goes well and you can figure out how to pay for it. It's too bad that lawyer gave the wrong information. I would make him pay for it! Our insurance has a $3000 yearly cap per person and after that we don't pay anything. It has a $6000 yearly cap for the family.

Leata is awake but not in the mood to eat anything right now. What a silly little girl.

Yes, Red...men tend to get very jealous of time with babies. My DH always wanted to play with Matt, but then the care-issues were for Mommy!!

He just needs to adjust to sharing YOU with a baby and realize that you don't get alot of interaction with babies at Mason's age. That'll change as time goes on.

If he keeps complaining, maybe he should take a day off and join you two for the day. Maybe you could pump into a bottle so he could feed, also.

And, the next time he complains about the Diaper Genie, go empty it on his pillow

This my DH - he still calls me for the "poop"diapers. :? All the glory but no pain. he loves being with A when his only need is horsing around and playing. He has taken some vacations day to stay home with A and I (mondays are my day off) so we do enjoy quality family time.

Geez... work has been hectic. I have a girl who never gives me her work to review like she's supposed to, then I get a TON of it all at once. She really gets on my nerves. Plus I'm trying to make sure things are done before I go on vacation. Then they tell me yesterday that they are going to remodel my office while I'm gone, so I have to pack everything up. I will be moving to a new office, so I even have to get my desk packed up. It's amazing how much crap you can accumulate at work in 4 1/2 years. Enough whining though... two more days and Myrtle Beach here I come!

I've been reading but haven't had time to post much. I'll go back as far as I can with personals.

Tracy sounds like Matt is doing great! So when is the next time they get shots after 15 months?

Tracy as you know my DH leaves all the baby care to me.

Amy the tick thing sounds scary. I hope you got it all. Do deer ticks carry lime disease?

I'd be worried about dehydration. At this stage in the game my ped like for Arianna to have about 16 oz a day. We don't always get quite there, but usually at least 14 oz between formula, juice and water.

Sarah I think I'd be worried about dehydration with Leata too. I am a worrier though, so that could just be me.

I have an early talker and a slower walker too. She's ready to walk but just hasn't taken that first step yet. She will stand and even hold a toy while standing, but that step just won't come yet.

Michele sorry about the fight. A baby is a big adjustment. I would suggest a bottle of expressed milk too, but you might want to wait a little while longer since you had latch issues. Does DH sit with you all while you nurse? That may help make him feel better.

Terra what day is Piper's party? I just sent her invites out yesterday. I wanted to send them out on Saturday but didn't make it to the post office to get the Happy Birthday stamps. Did you buy her invites or make them? I made Arianna's. I bought this relatively cheap program and designed them myself. The software has a lot of other things you can make. I'm going to make a calendar for some of the family for Christmas. Every month will have pictures of Arianna.

Mara my DH doesn't even change a wet diaper if I'm around. He just walks up to me if he has her and says "I think somebody needs a dipie change". Men!

Leslie- I am a little worried about dehydration, if she gets too bad I give her the pedialyte pops though and she will always take those.

Good luck getting all of your stuff done before you guys go on vacation. It sounds like fun!

Texas- Sorry that dh is feeling left out. I wish I had some good advice but I don't think that I do. My dh is really good at helping out with everything around the house and with Leata. I think when she was little he felt like there wasn't much he could do but that changed a lot as she got older. He always changes her diapers when he is home (well, I change them if he is busy with something but he changes them most of the time). He feeds her, which has been a real challenge lately. He plays games with her and teaches her words. He reads books to her. If I am not feeling well he will take her for a walk or to the mall when the temperature is not good for walks. So before too long dh will be able to help a lot more with Mason. They say reading to them from the very beginning is good so maybe he could read short children's books to him. Taking a walk is also something he could do with him or you could all do as a family. I know my dh likes to have time where it is just him and Leata since I have so much time where it is just me and Leata.

The dentist office called and said that I have used up all of my insurance money for the year. So, I have to have this root canal finished and we will have to pay for that out of pocket. Then I will have to have a crown but they said that I could probably wait for that until the new year when my insurance renews. So at the beginning of January I am going to be back at the dentist once again to get the crown but for now I just need to get the root canal finished. We are starting to drown in medical and dental bills. It's getting crazy. Hopefully next year will be a better year for us healthwise.

Leslie--That's great that you are getting a new office, but sucks you have to pack everything last minute! Hope you have a great vacation to Myrtle Beach. I bet Arianna will love the ocean. I'm sure you will get some great pics too! Piper's party is on the 8th, her actual birthday. So that's cool. We bought all of her party supplies--Wiggles theme :D Even found a cute Wiggles cake at Marsh. I'll try and post a pic to what they look like. The only other thing I can think about with the pooping issues is--that if they aren't eating very much then the body wouldn't be producing as much waste. So that could be a small part of it for both girls. The more you eat the more you poop--theoretically. Piper is a piggy now and can still go a day or 2 with nothing.

Terra, I have thought the exact same thing and I am sure that not eating much has to do with it but she is also constipated because her bm's are very hard and it hurts her a lot to go. I am sure that part of the reason she does not go much is because she is not eating much.

Where is everyone tonight? I'm getting ready to go to bed--a little early for me, but I'm happy I can make it so early tonight. We usually start doing something stupid like loading the dishwasher or checking mail (lol kinda like how I'm here) and next thing we know an hour and half has past! It always happens to us. We call it the time warp of our house. But really--I'm writing this and I'm leaving :)

I'd be happy to give your babies some of Anna's diaper changes! She has become a pooping Machine over the last week!!!! I'm changing 5-6 poopy diapers a day and I'm talking about full diapers! I was beginning to wonder where all the food she has been packing away goes- now I know  It's amazing how much she's eating too! I feel like I'm always feeding her and she'll eat 2-3 CUPS of food at a time! I keep thinking she's gonna pop! and Amazingly enough she still isn't gaining any weight! If only we could trade issues and balance these babies out! LOL

God Bless

THANK YOU GOD!!!!! lol I need to make me some coffee. And hook it up to an IV. I know in my previous post I was complaining alot, so let me add one more comment....I overdrafted our checking acct by SIX CENTS and they charged us $341@!@!@!!!!   I could not get to the bank where MIL was in the hospital and I had to stop and get gas!!! GRRRR... Ok, I will stop my cring
 On to personals....

Lisamarie - First, thank you so much for the info you sent me. I truly appreciate it. Second, I think the Secret Santa thing is a great idea. I would love to be in it. I will try to PM you my answers in a bit. Hope you are doing well today!!

Buttercup - I will be praying for you all and that your DH's surgery goes well. God will provide for you all. I know it is hard, but just have faith.

Shayla - Thank God everything went ok. We have been praying for your family! I love the name Ireland. That is so pretty!!!! She is such a doll!!! Can't wait to see more pics!!

Leslie - You tart!!! I want to go to MB!!!! I think we might try and go in May. Prayers for a safe and wonderful vacation for you and your family!! I want to see pictures!

Sarah - so sorry to hear that Leata is sick. Hope she is feeling better and that your dentist appt went ok. ((HUGS))

Mara - At my house, DH and Emily have an arrangement that she only poops when he is not home! She pooped one night while I was at class and he SAVED the diaper for me to see. I am not kidding. I walked up the steps and it was on the front porch on our patio table. He was so amazed by the amount of mud in the diaper and he was so proud of himself for changing it.. ...hehehehe I am going to write that down in her baby book.

Terra - Love the party stuff!! How many ppl are you inviting?

Red - HI!!!!

Amy - Hope the eating/pooping issues are getting better.

Tracy - glad the appt went well. Emily is in the 50% percentile in weight but is off the charts in legnth. (At her 8 mo appt she was 19.5 lbs and 29" long)

Bella - Hang in there. Ask for help!!!! Emily did not have actual colic, but had a bad reaction to the first formula we had her on. This lasted for a few weeks till we figured out what was wrong. She would scream scream scream. I would cry cry cry!!! We used my hair dryer (on the cool setting). DH or I would sit in on the bed next to her bassinet and hold the hair dryer and she would fall asleep. Finally we found a "Soothing Sounds" CD at Babies R Us that had "White noise" on it. That worked just as good as the hair dryer - and DH and I could both sleep at the same time!!! If I could find it, would you be interested in it? I would mail it to you if you want. We don't need it anymore and it might help you. Just let me know.

Corrina - Hope you and your family are feeling better. HUGS!!!!

Ok, I am falling asleep while typing so I am going to sleep until the little lovebug wakes up. Take care everyone and have a great day!!! God Bless!

Whoa, Lovebug -- you got a tall, skinny girl there. Tell her to stop that growing soon, though. We have a terrible time finding pants that are long enough in small sizes for me  (I know Terra is laughing at this!!)

That's BS about your checking account. I'd fight that one big time. Overdrafts are supposed to be like $29, aren't they? Either way, I'd b!tch until they eat that one. Tell them you'll move all of your accounts -- getting new customers is very expensive, keeping you is a much better option for them. Good Luck!!

Leslie -- I think the next shot is HepA at 2 years old, then nothing until he's ready to start preschool (at 4). So, we're going to enjoy a shot-free 18-month appt :D HAVE FUN IN MYRTLE BEACH!!! LOTS OF PICTURES!!!

Before I forget, Pauly (Nopey) emailed this morning and says HI. She's been ultra-busy and is headed out of town this weekend for a wedding. She hopes to post soon, but is otherwise thinking about all of us. Audrey is cutting teeth (so sleep is a distant memory), but is doing well, too.

We went to Chuck E Cheese last night to reward Matt for doing so well at his doctor's visit. Okay, DH and I just like the pizza and games  He had a great time, though. He met a little boy his age in ToddlerLand and they hung out the entire evening. They were so funny...eating crackers, running around and squealing. Very cute. And, my picky eater ate pizza...and liked it. Whew -- we're a pizza-loving family :D

I have a terrible headache. Started yesterday afternoon and won't let up. Now it almost feels like it's settling in my ear. I've not had an ear infection in 10 years, but this is how they start. I hope not!!

Hello to everyone else. Hope everyone (and their babies) are feeling well today. Will check in later!!

Bummer, Lovebug...better find some good hiding places in some closets!! Or, I think we'll keep Matt's stuff at my parent's house.

We used layaway when we got the nursery furniture. The sale was going off that week and we wanted the lower price, DH was out of town and I was the size of a house (8 months pregnant). So, carrying furniture to my car (you know they wouldn't help!!) was out of the question. It was nice...knowing you had something bought, but not having to make room for it. Especially since the nursery wasn't quite done yet.

Well, ladies.. don't even get me started on wal mart. I am about to completely write them out of my book. Watch out..... if everyone continues to shop there.... they WILL take over the world!

Anyway,
I am going to get a 2nd op. on willow's constipation. I do worry about the dehydration issue and I know it doesn't help her poop. But I can't force her to drink. Oh, and she will only drink about 4-5 oz of milk a day.... MAX. So its cheese, pudding and any other kind of dairy i can get her to eat. Let's see if I can remember some of the ?'s I was asked....
Tracy: We have tried the prunes. and the prune jc. They don't work for her. But blueberries do... to an extent.
I do know that part of the problem is all the extra protein and fat they want me to get her to eat. Because the past two days I just let her eat whatever she wanted and didn't worry about it. Well, she pooped four times yesterday and they were all hard except for the last one.... it was mixed. Hard and then a REGULAR!! poop. So, that is how much poop she had stuck inside of her. Poor girl. No wonder she hates pooping. She always goes into another room and shuts the door. But I can hear her straining and crying.

Mara: She is somewhere around the 3rd percentile. Her dr said she was getting close to failure to thrive. WIC is having me give her extra strength milk... which is whole milk mixed with powdered milk, and fat like butter, oils.. peanut butter, avacado.... extra protein like pb, eggs and beans. Oh, did I mention that Willow won't eat meat. Grrr. Sure make it harder for me.

Sarah: I hate meal and snack times. Its very stressful for me. I know that WIC told me to not make life all about eating. But it is very difficult, because it is always either meal time or snack time. I am constantly pulling things out fo the fridge or cabinets.... especially when she won't eat what I first got out. My friend's professor actually recommended that I let Willow drink all the juice she wants for the extra calories. But she will only drink about 2oz. most fo the time. Willow is on the go constantly. She doesn't sit still. I have actually tried to make more still time so that maybe she won't burn so many calories. I just want the dr to check and make sure there is nothing else wrong. I mean, we have been dealing with these constipation issues for over 6 months. It is getting a bit ridiculous. Hey I hope you feel better!

Well, I have to go for now. I think Willow is awake. Oh and guess what???? it's lunch time.

Have a wonderful day.

Amy...

That's a bummer that prune juice doesn't work. I thought it was almost fail-safe!!

I think you were absolutely right to let her eat whatever she wanted for a few days. Cleaned her out, didn't it!?! So, is the issue that she won't gain any weight if you let her eat what she likes? Is she gaining if she eats their diet?

If not, I would side with the idea to let her eat what she wants. Atleast that will clear up the constipation. Once she feels better, she might eat more, then gain weight. I dunno -- just a thought to tackle one issue at a time.

I'm so sorry that I don't have anything more to offer in the way of advice. Matt's very picky, too -- but we never had a weight issue with him. I do know that trying to fight a baby to eat is always very humbling and can be a downright waste of time. Like this weekend...I made some oatmeal. Matt wouldn't even look at it. Just sat in his chair and yelled at the top of his lungs until I put it away. I then gave him some cheerios -- he grabbed them and ate like he was starved

I have found some helpful advice at askdrsears.com. Maybe you can check there for ideas if you haven't already.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Leata just went for a week and a half without a BM. I mean that has got to be bad. Finally she was trying to go yesterday and I just gave in and used the suppository thing because she was having such a hard time with it. It was so hard and there wasn't a ton that actually came out. She has been drinking more juice and water lately but does not want her soy milk. I think we are going to try regular whole milk again and see if she will take that. If not I don't know what else to do with her. She ate some yogurt last night. She ate a few peas. She had some pedialyte. And that is about all she would eat at all yesterday. Oh, she had a few veggie crackers. I am sure now that she weighs less then 17 pounds and she is 30 inches long. I can't keep any pants on her anymore. Her little ribs stick out a lot. She seems perfectly healthy and happy otherwise though. She is running around and playing like normal and I can hardly keep up with her and I am sure that I eat more then enough. I think it is just a stage she is going through to try and assert her independence but she is too little to do this. I am debating on if I should take her back in to the doctor. The weight thing I think will fix itself unless it is related to the constipation. The constipation still worries me though.

Amy- Let me know what you find out when you bring Willow in about her problems. I would like to know what a different doctor says.

Oh, I took an hpt today because it is cd31 and I have no idea if or when I O'd because I decided not to worry about it this cycle. It's my first cycle off of the BCP since my miscarriage. Well, there was a faint, faint line in the test area. I am not sure if it is an evap line or a positive. It came up withing a minute or so and it is pink just really faint. I don't want to get my hopes up yet but I think that it might be a bfp. I will wait a couple more days and test again and then talk to my doctor on Tuesday if I get anything else resembling a BFP and hope that it is not too late to get the heparin...

I hope it's a positive Sarah!!!! And I will pray that you have a healthy pregnancy! Good Luck!!!

Ok Gabi is fianlly quietly playing on her playmat---she loves that thing!

Thanks to everyone for the advice on colic. I guess we still aren't sure that it's colic or something else related to what I am eating. So now I am going to eliminate dairy from my diet for the next two weeks and see what happens.
Gabi had her 1 month checkup yesterday. She is up to 9lbs and 21 inches!! Pretty amazing since she left the hospital 4 weeks ago at 6lbs 4ozs and 18 inches!! She had her HepB shot --- not fun!!! She did one of those hold your breathe type cries it was horrible to watch!! I am glad DH was with us he was able to soothe her. I tried to nurse afterwards hoping to calm her down but she refused the breast ---which she rarely ever does!! Oh man I am not looking forward to next month when she goes in for 4 shots!!!!

hmmm... Well that didnt last long. Gabi is bored with the playmat and wants my attention. I'll try and come back and do personals later.
It's hard to reply to personals with a 5 1/2 week old!!

Hey ladies :D Started up our mommy meetings at the church today!!! We stopped for the summer and I really missed that time with the girls. It was great to be back. And Piper loves playing with all the big kids. Taylor had fun too!

Krissy--They seriously charged you over $300 for 6 cents!?!?! :x I would be pissed and probably find a new bank! It is a great idea to threaten to leave and take your business elsewhere--they will probably change their minds. What was wrong with your MIL? We are inviting 13 or 14 kids under 5, including Piper and probably about 40 adults. I'm sure not everyone will show, but we will have enough cake for everyone!

Tracy--Yeay I was laughing at you blondie! How 'bout me shopping for pants to fit my midget legs? LOL We too love Chuck E Cheese. We will have to take Piper after her bday. I think she's going to get a baby bicycle seat from us as her present. I have a sudden urge to ride my bike again and I want to take her. We found one this past weekend that we may go buy Sat.

Lisa--LOL so you are a stalker....of the boards :D I've always hated going to Walmart, so I don't go. I think they are an evil corporation too. Esp the way they treat their employees and customers. Where are you getting your profile images and smileys? I have a few sites with that stuff from myspace. Good decorative idea :)

Mara--What a jerk! Serves him right that you got to see his email!

Sarah--I hope it is a bfp! A line is a line. I pray the heparin works. Are you taking any meds right now? After taking so long to conceive Leata, it seems that something is really working for you now :D

I have been totally freaking out lately because we have had so many doctor's bills and other unexpected expenses comint our way and our savings is almost depleted. Today dh decided to talk to his boss to see if there was any chance of anymore bonuses this year so we could plan what we need to do to ake care of all of this. We will be fine but we won't have very much at all ion savings and so if anything else happens we are going to have to figure something out. Dh just started saying to his boss that things were tight and we had several doctor's and dentist bills to pay and before dh said anything more his boss stopped him and told him that the three bosses (he was talking to the one in charge of the money) were talking about giving him and a couple of other guys raises in the next paycheck! Dh was excited to hear that but then his boss told them he wasn't talking a little raose either. It was going to be a $10k a year raise! Well, considering how much dh makes and cost of living here that is a HUGE raise! He will be making about what he would be at other companies around here with the great atmosphere at his company and our insurance premiums still paid 100%. This couldn't have come at a better time. Especially if I am pregnant now. He also said if we need money now he could give us a couple months worth of salary now and wait a couple of months to give us the bonus! I think we will be ok without that because we will be able to build our savings back up pretty quickly now so I don't mind using it. Anyway, I am a lot more relaxed right now and thta will be great if I am pregnant because with my blood pressure problems I need to have as little to worry about as possible...

Hey ladies! Just now am having the time to post on here and officially introduce myself as a new mommy! Here's is my birth story about little Dylan Austin Rogers. Born via c-section 9/7, 7lbs 10oz, 20in, and 13in head. Hope I can find the time to post on here and properly meet you all. Thanks! Feel free to check out my webpage for pics!

Called the hospital at 600am (due to not being able to sleep and very anxious about findning out what time I would actually be able to go in) and they said I was good to go, see you at 800! Well we left the house when we should have but DH forgot his wallet so we had to turn around and traffic was horrendous that morning so we ended up being 30 minutes late. Oh well! They checked me and I was still 2cm but a good 2 cm and they immediately tried to break my water with no luck. I don't care what they say, if you have no drugs... this CAN BE painful! So they started the pitocin at 900am. The cntrx were not nearly as bad as I thought they would be but after several hrs of cntrx my back starting killing me with each one. Around 100pm they checked me and I was barely 3cm and this time they successfully broke my water, this time I thankfully had Stadol and was feeling great! I felt so drunk, but I'm a happy drunk so I was laughing at everything. I also found out later that I was yelling instead of talking normally LOL. After they broke my water the cntrx got bad and I needed the epidural but I held off til about 500pm with more stadol of course. Getting the epidural was a little scary I have to admit. I guess I was slouched a little crooked at first so she had a hard time getting the needle in. By then my pulse was so high they were afraid I was going to hypervenilate so we had to break a while. They when they put the tube in a felt this weird like shooting jolt through my leg, it went away quick but it definately scared me. Anyhoo... When they checked again I was still only 3cm but could be stretched to 4cm. They said they would wait a little longer but I would be checked at 8pm and we would go from there but it reallly looked like we were headed for a c-section. I was a little upset but at this point I was so exhausted from lack of sleep that I didn't really care I just wanted to see my baby. They checked at 8pm and dr said I was 4cm but the baby's head was already swelling due to the size of my pelvis. He said he really didn't see the baby moving any further down so we needed to go ahead with the section. The prepped me around 900pm and out arrived Dylan Austin at 10:21. The epidural wasn't working to well and they really had to give me alot of meds plus some additional stuff. I wouldn't go numb above my belly button. They ended up leaning the table so my head was lower than my body to get it to work properly. I felt the very first intial cut also, though it just felt like a cat scratch and nothing else after that but it was really scary!!! I also freaked while they were doing all the stretching of the skin and muscle and stuff, that was quite painful but not in a sharp was just a pressure way. They said the worst part would be when the nurse puts her full body weight on your chest to "pop" the baby out, well, I didn't even fell that, LOL! DH said it looked super painful though. After that all I remember is DH asking me if I could hear him crying. I shed like 2 tears (which totally shocked me cause I'm totally a crier) and that was that. I didn't really cry til Saturday night. And that was over BF issues... OH that was another horror story that I will save for another day if you all are interested... let me know.

Congrats Melanie!! Were you overdue that you had to be induced? Hang in there - BF gets easier. It was so hard for us for the first 6 weeks.

Sarah - That is awesome news about DH's salary!! What great timing! Did you take another test today?? Fingers crossed for you.

Terra - Wow - that is a HUGE party! Sounds like fun!

Not sure if I am overreacting about my SIL/BIL. They are coming up the week before my niece's 1st bday. I assume it is SIL's doing so that we don't have to go to Ohio and screw up her plans with her family. MIL has two grandkids, Anthony and my niece. They are having a b-day party on Friday night her actual b-day. MIL works Fridays as do Dh and I. The party is 6pm. No one invited us. When DH talked to his brother he said "You are more than welcomed to come - we just thought since it was on Friday you could not come". MIL is already depressed about only seeing my niece 4X since she has been born. I mean they live 2 hours away! My point is if they had told us about the party a month ago we could have swung being there. I told DH I am not going for sure, especially so last minute. If BIL had 1/2 a brain he would have thought about his mothers feelings and told her about it months ago so she could change her work schedule around somehow to be there for my niece's b-day. If it were me - I would have had the party on a Saturday so both grandma's could be there. My SIL is selfish and doesn't particularily care about our side of the family - it is evident. She has no reason too. I find her cold to her own child (another story for another day) so I am not too suprised. She lived in town with BIL for a year after they were married with the promise that if she didn't like it they would move to Ohio after 1 year. Well she made sure she was super depressed here..isolated herself from everyone! They moved to Ohio 1 year after she came here. I think the only reason she came here for a year was to get engaged as she knew BIL did not want to live in Ohio. BIL is generally a nice person - just dumb and naive. So anyway, I told DH no way in hell am I dragging Anthony to Ohio on a Friday night for a b-day party. He goes to bed at 7pm. I just think this is another one of my SIL's games to keep us away. I don't think I am overreacting - am I? I am just so tired of her crap.

MIL doesn't drive btw on the highway and would never go to ohio on her own - so she is at the mercey of when BIL comes up with the baby or when we drive her down.

My new boyfriend is in Melbourne for 3 weeks...he called me tonight. He asked me alst night to go down next weekend. I'm not sure wqhat to do?! I was a bit apprehensive because I didn't want him to think I wanted him to ask (though I did...lol)...so I told him I had changed the subject so that he didnt feel pressured and to give him soem space and timer with his family. It wasn't that I didn't wanna go. So, we'll see what we decide this week!

Morning gals...... http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/lisamw/banana.gif

Mara-I dont think you are overreacting. When it comes to inlaws and such its hard to see eye to eye on things. Speakin from someone who did move away from their family 2 hrs....AFter 5.5 yrs Im still depressed becasue I live out here. I woudl give anything to live back in my hometown. I can honestly say it has been a huge part in my not liking dh's family(although there are tons of other reasons why I dont like them..lol) But I stay because is the breadwinner and so forth. As far as the bday party..I never have both sides together. My dh's mom is too competitive with the kids so I do them separate.
I agree with you..I probably wouldnt go either..since she is little she wont know. But when she gets older then I would. I feel for you. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/lisamw/hug.gif

Hannah-Go to Melborne! Go be the naughty girl you are!!!! LOL! http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/lisamw/whip.gif

Took Lucy to school. SHe was excited..she took bugs in for show and tell. LOL!

Man Porkchop is fussy again..I need to lay her down. Be back in a bit!
