I have another MFM appointment tomorrow, so hoping for another u/s (and will also be getting a less-exciting fetal fibronectin test). Can't believe I'm closing in on 30 weeks!! Yikes!! Where does the time go?

Wow March already. Time is flying!!

Birdling - Hope you get to see your LO tomorrow.

Well I am sick again. I am not sure where it came from, I have not been around anyone that has a chest cold, but yesterday morning I woke up coughing and my DH says I was coughing all night. Weirdest part is Friday when I wne to bed I had not coughed all day and felt great. I am still coughing hard and deep, it hurts bad, but not sure what I can take to help.

RedReba -- hope you feel better soon, and you can get some answers on what you can take!

woohoo- I can officially join you guys over here. I am so excited to be closer to meeting my little one. It still seems so unreal.

Red- I am in the same boat you are and it is miserable. And through all the sickness I still cleaned the house yesterday to get rid of the germs. I hate being sick. It is miserable. I am so sorry about your friends mom. ((HUGS)))

AFM- I am not in the miserable stage of pregnancy yet. Sometime I forget I am pregnant. Be back...crying baby

My poor kid is sick. It is never fun to see your child suffer. You know they are sick when they just lay there as you take their temp and give them medicine:(

Anywho my next appointment I have to do my gluclose test and then I start going every 2 weeks...EEK!

katie- I know what you mean about them not protesting the temp or the medicine. I hope your little one feels better soon!

I feel so behind! lol

Katie- yay! and welcome over to the 3rd tri! I hope your lo gets better soon.

Reba- I hope you feel better soon!

Bird-can't wait to hear how your appt goes! Great that you passed the 3hr and found a doula!

Leeann- maybe he's just short and fat like his mom! lol I saw some of the measurements on the screen that said he's measuring small(perhaps just length-wise?), but as far as weight, he must get all the food he makes me want to eat!:)

I know I've gotta be missing someone- sorry!

afm- I've been on hiatus b/c of work- I ended up working the closing shift at work(which is odd to some hearing it called closing since our store is 24hrs!) for the entire weekend- so I'm beat! And weaved throughout the weekend is the same headache I've been getting-today makes the 10th day in a row:(-So I'm definately talking to my doc on friday- she knows ive been getting them-dh called her last week on tuesday when I hid under pillows(not for the dark, for the cold side of them)she told me to take tylenol- and it takes the edge off, but it doesnt rid me of them--ugh! And now I find out that headaches seem to be contagious in my family! My mom and aunt are having headache troubles! But my aunt spent I think about the last week in the hospital's headache clinic(my hospital-well my preferred that I'm also delivering at-has the best in the area apparently!). So we'll see what my dr says friday! I'm going to attempt to rest some today, but Alex has another b-day party wednesday and I've gotta take him to get a gift for her.

Cac - you're too funny!!

AFM - this is not really pregnancy related - well maybe it is because of hormones lol - but I'm having a tough day. I got home from work to do my paperwork/"work from home" portion of the day and I got to thinking about my mom and cried for a good half hour because I miss her. I'm guessing it's because her birthday is next week. I just can't believe that I will never buy another pretty mother birthday card. I always got her one of the big ones with the prettiest ribbon on it that I could find and I read all of them to find one that was perfect for her. Such a dumb thing, but it's always the little things like that that get you down at wierd times. She would have been 59. So not fair... Needless to say, I took a little nap afterward and I guess I will just do my paperwork later. I just can't bring myself to do it right now.

((hugs)) Leeann. I bet holidays like that are going to be hard for a while. My mom lost her mom when I was 4. My Grandma was in her late 50's just like your mom. My mom told me it took a LONG time before she was able to go down certain card isles (mom bday isle) at the store and wouldn't even step into a hallmark near mothers day for years. Hang in there sweetie :(

(((HUGS))) Lee Ann!! I don't really come over here at all anymore, but the moms board is kind of slow today, so I thought I would pop over here... I'm not sure if you will agree with this or not, but I don't see why you CAN'T buy your mom a card!!! You can buy one, write her a note so you can feel like she is getting to be a part of your life, seal it up and then put it on her grave or just put it into a box that is special for her. I think it might be therapeutic for you to get some stuff off your chest and feel a little closer to her this month. I can only imagine how you are feeling right now. Hang in there, sweet lady!!!!

Thanks, girls! I think the closer I get to delivering this baby, the more the reality sets in that my mom won't be there. Thank goodness I have 2 sisters. My older sister is the oldest and she's 14 years older than me, so she was always like a mom to me. Honest to goodness, it's just one of those things that you think can't happen to you until it does. It's strange, but it really is true when people say that!

I have a full week of appointments! lol I go to the chiropractor tomorrow, then have my ultrasound on Wednesday at 2:45, then my 28 week appt at 5:15 on Thursday! I am not sure if I will switch to 2 week appointments after this or not. I can't remember what they told me when I went in for the first appt. They did tell me when they switched over, though. lol I just forget!

Leeann -- sorry you were feeling down today. :( I was thinking along the same lines as Carleigh -- if it's not too painful, maybe buy her a card anyway? Or write her a letter? Anyway, (((hugs))) to you and hope you feel better soon.

Katiejill -- welcome!! Sorry your LO is sick. :(

Cac -- hope your headaches get better. :( And LOL about the measurements. I had my u/s today (everything looked great! -- and will find out FFN results tomorrow but my cervix is still about 3.6 so he said everything looks good), and they measured baby of course ... and this made me laugh ... baby is measuring a little big, consistently 1-1 1/2 weeks ahead on everything ... EXCEPT head circumference, which is measuring like 3 1/2 weeks ahead. WTH!!!! LOL. My last one had a big head, too, but it seems like everything was proportionally big. Of course, with my last one they gave me all measurements in percentiles, not weeks, so it was easier to compare. But let me just sat the big head does NOT come from my side of the family, lol ...

Leeann-((((((HUGS)))))) I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND! My dad died when I was 19. He died on June 11th and our baby is due June 16th. I keep thinking that I want the baby to be born on June 11th b/c then that day won't be so sad. Three days after we buried my dad was father's day and I HATED father's day for the longest time after that. My FIL reminds me so much of my dad, even down to the haircut, mustache (sp) and cowboy boots, sometimes it feels like he is here again. DH never got to meet my dad but I have taken him to his grave a couple of times. We even still had a boutnierre (sp) made for him for my wedding and put it at his grave with a copy of the program. I like the idea of getting your mom a card anyway, I've written my dad letters before and left them at his grave. It doesn't matter how old you are, you still need your parents. My dad's b-day would have been this Sunday, he would have been 54. He was 43 when he died.
Ok, at work and getting sad, changing the subject, PM me if you ever need to talk.

Back from the chiropractor! He asked me if my right hip was bothering me because I guess it was really elevated. I guess being pg will do that to you! LOL My u/s is TOMORROW!!! :)

Hi Ladies!! DH had bought me a breast pump for Austin before I had gone back to work with the hopes that I would be able to continue to pump when I went back to work. Fat chance that was going to happen with my old boss being a PITA and not letting me pump b/c of our branch being ALWAYS busy and I just couldn't leave my tellers by themselves.

Anywho...I have an Evenflo pump complete with electric cord, bottles, etc....Austin never used the nipples either. I'm willing to sell it for like $20. It comes with a mini-cooler and ice packs as well. This is a link to it: http://www.amazon.com/Evenflo-Comfor.../dp/B001H0GF4C

I hardly used it....I got frustrated after the second time, so I just cleaned everything and it's been sitting there since June.

Any takers? PM me if you're interested

Ok, back from my ultrasound. She is still a girl, is breech and is 2 pounds 10 ounces, which the technician said was right on track. :)

Had a 3d/4d u/s yesterday and man did our little girl give us a hard time. She is very stubborn and did not want to show her face no matter what. She is releated to me and DH so I know she is not shy. She was more interested in having her hands and her feet in her mouth than giving us a good picture. At one point she went completely face down, so we could only view her back. :p

After tossing and turning on the table and then going for a walking and talking to her she did allow us to get a really good side shot. I was so proud and DH was too. There is no doubt that she looks liker her Daddy. I am glad that we did it, it was worth it. I will try to post a pic later.

Glad you got good pics, Darlin!

Well, I went to my appointment early. I passed my glucose screening test and the repeat u/s looked good. Baby's h/b was good. I couldn't schedule my c-section though because they didn't have the May schedule done yet! It figures. I knew that would happen! LOL I'm up to 2 week visits now!

Hi everyone :) I don't have time to do personals, but I had a doctor appt today- measuring 57 weeks now (if it was a singleton). I feel every bit of those 57 weeks worth of uterus, trust me! I was in the hospital again Tuesday/Wednesday for preterm labor again but luckily they were able to stop it again. I'm hoping to make it to 34 weeks so that I can deliver locally without being ambulanced to Boston. I'm so happy to have made it to 32 weeks today though!!!!!!! My sister is being induced as I type, so I'll have a new nephew tonight hopefully :) Hope everyone is doing well!

leeann38
03-04-2010, 05:31 PM
Lighthouse - you just keep on relaxin' girl!! Isn't it crazy that your twins can realistically be here any day now the way you keep going into preterm labor? I hope you have everything ready and are just relaxing!!!

lighthouse830
03-05-2010, 08:21 AM
leann- I know, it's crazy. The thought 'hit' me the other night when I was contracting at the hospital that they could be here anytime! (I thought they might be coming that night) Glad that you passed the GD test- I was relieved when I passed mine also!

Darlin- Can't wait to see those 3d/4d pics! My little ones are stubborn too- they never show their faces clearly in the u/s! :)

And I have a new nephew! He was born last night- just under 3 hours of labor, 5lbs 9 oz, 37 weeks 4 days! :)

I can't wait either :) It shouldn't be long now! At MOST, I have 5 weeks, 6 days (38 weeks)- but who is counting? LOL...

My nephew's first name is Preston, middle name Fox. Originally, she was going to name him Fawkes Preston, but I like the switched order better :)

lighthouse- yeah for keeping them in again!!! you're getting closer and closer! have you posted any belly pics lately? (my comp likes to freeze when i look at that thread) congrats on your nephew... was fawkes as in dumbledore's bird in harry potter?!?!

Cac0115
03-06-2010, 10:29 PM
lh- I hope you do get to keep them in until you won't have to be sent to another hospital! Exciting news about your nephew! 3 hours!? I'd swear that's almost a record! lol:)

Leeann- thats great that you passed your test(I think the first thing I reached for after I was told I passed was chocolate milk!) and everything looked good, maybe the schedule will be up in a couple weeks?

afm- exciting news!!! We had decided not to name our lo Tony since it's a nickname and may make it harder for him professionally later in life, but then dh wanted to name the baby after him! And no offense to those who choose that route, but I hate juniors! He wouldn't have been a junior, but if your hear a little boy who has the same first name as his father, that's most likely the 1st thing that comes to mind! And now that I've written a book-lol- we have a name finally!!! Brandon Michael! I was able to get him to compromise enough to put Michael as a middle name instead of the 1st!! I feel relieved that we had finally decided(or rather he finally gave in!) In other news... I had an appt friday, everything looks(and sounds) good- go back in 2 wks- and thats when we start nst's here cuz of my asthma.

I do have a question for you ladies though. How many of you have started getting braxton hicks? I have not noticed ANY at all. No tightening of the uterus here for me. And I don't remember feeling one for my entire pregnancy with alex either. With him, I didn't feel a single contraction until about 15 mins AFTER my water splashed all over my front stairs! My dr thinks maybe I could be getting them and just not noticing, but idk....

lighthouse830
03-06-2010, 10:42 PM
pjs- I think I put one in the thread, but I don't remember LOL... if not, you can check out my facebook page for pics- it might load easier for you! PM me if I don't have you on there. I can't remember the screen name here vs. real name on FB all the time :)
My sister likes unusual names for her kids, but I am not sure where she found that name. The family didn't really like it (mainly because of someone who knew of a fawkes that got teased and called the same name with a 'u' instead of the 'aw' sound if you catch my drift).

Cac- My last daughter came in about 2 1/2 hours from the first contraction, so I still hold our family record LOL ;) I"m hoping these guys are quick and not like 29 hours of labor! I love the name Brandon Michael. I was always partial to the name Brandon :) As for the braxton hicks, I'm no help. I've had them since about 14 weeks (they were not really noticeable but I could feel the tightening if I felt my belly). I start my nsts in a week and a half I think.

Cac – Love the name !! (Brandon is my Dh’s name) so we would not use it cause we have junior issues too. We are doing Benjamin H, because DH is Brandon H, and his Dad is Bruce H, thought initials would be good thing to carry from generation to generation.

Braxton hicks have been here and there, but nothing big and started a couple weeks ago.

LH – Great on keeping those babies cooking!!! Congrats on the nephew. I like the name.

Sorry if I missed anyone else. I have been reading the past few days, but not had timeto post or catch up on personals.

AFM – Been busy with papers for school, long days of work and not much sleep. Had 3-D u/s done today it was so great to really see our sprout. He is adorable with chubby cheeks like me, but tall like dad. I will post pix on the pix thread!! I am ready for a day off to catch up on readings for school and to relax with my feet up!! Yeah for Sunday!

Hi everyone! I've been MIA for awhile I know, really busy at work trying to train my replacement and then busy and so tired at home, haven't been on here in a long time. I had a quick read through the last few posts and glad to hear that everyone's appointments have been going well :)

cac - I love the name you picked!!!!

Lighthouse - Glad you are continuing to keep those LO's in there - it won't be long now!! Do you have names picked out yet?

We are still undecided on names, I am finding it hard to find boys names that I love but DH absolutely loves the name Lincoln...as for girls, there are so many that I love I can't decide :)

I cannot believe that I am 34 weeks along - it seemed so long and time seemed so slow at the beginning yet now I am wondering where the time went?!?!

Sorry about everyone that I missed.....I hope that I will have more time now so I can keep up to date with all you ladies...pretty soon we'll be sharing our birth stories...YAY!!!!

03-08-2010, 08:05 AM
Katie~I've had them in my right leg, all the way above my knee to my ankle, since around 14 weeks till now. Around 28 weeks, I started getting major back pains too. Doctor was no help, just ice, heat, bath. I used a lot of cream on my legs and that helped me at night. I don't have the back pains anymore, but still have leg pains at night when I'm sleeping. I have a body pillow between my legs and I have to sleep a certain way for it to not be in pain. I also can't put any pressure on that leg while sleeping.

thanks trying! Time does seem to be flying but still dragging at the same time! Keep looking and you'll find a name that sticks out to you.

trying- I can't believe you're at 34 weeks either! We're so close to seeing our little ones :)

AFM, Had another trip to L&D today for an NST because I haven't been feeling baby A moving as much. Turned out everything was fine. I had quite a scare during the u/s because they thought they saw THREE babies. They had 3 techs come in to check it out and they weren't too convinced that there were only 2, but they said it's unlikely that there is a third because someone would have caught it by now. Not too reassuring IMO! When I go on Thursday to the MFM doctor, I'm going to ask them to look VERY closely behind baby B to see if they notice anything.

jessicaileen
03-09-2010, 05:11 PM
lighthouse - OMG! 3 babies! Surely they would have noticed by now with all your u/s that you were having 3 instead of 2, right?

Gosh, I sure hope so! ;) I can't fit a third crib in their room LOL....

03-09-2010, 05:24 PM
Holy cow lighthouse!!! I bet you almost had a panic attack when they said that :) Can you imagine?!?!?! I'm sure that like Jessica said, they would have noticed by now with all of those appointments.

Thanks Red - It hit me again at work today while trying to train my replacement that it will be here before we know it!!!!

Katie - I also get them lice Cac said, like a charlie horse, usually I only get them at night when I am asleep and they wake me up....a few stretches of my calf muscle usually helps get rid of them. I find they are less too for awhile after I go for a massage - if that's an option for you it might be worth trying. Good luck.

Oh my Lord LH!!!!! Definitely have MFM check it out! Not to freak you out, but a lady on here a long time ago was preggo w/ trips...until a few weeks before delivery they discovered a 4th baby in there!! I'm sure there is only two though...right?!

03-09-2010, 08:05 PM
OMG LH!!! That would be CRAZY! Well even if the nurse spoiled the surprise of the sexes you'd still have that surprise LOL! I'm sure they would have seen all three by now if there were that many. Especially since you had those early u/s's from doing IVF.

RedReba
03-09-2010, 09:08 PM
LH – A 3rd!!! I hope it was just shadows and cause of the crowding for your sake!!

AFM - I have had a crazy day. I had a really bad headache wake me up during the night, finally get some sleep only to wake up to horrible immence pain in my tummy. I was sure it was contractions, but the pain was not going away. It was sharpand continued, thought it was extreme constipation, but after unsing the toilet it was stillthere and worse. My DH was ready to take me to the ER, but it was noon and I had an appointment with my dr. at 1pm, so we just went there!! he did an exam and baby was fine, uterus was soft and unengaged, but he was pretty sure it was my gall bladder.

I had an emergency u/s on the gallbladder to find about 10 stones. The pain had finally subsided by the time of the u/s, but they could see irritation and swelling from where I had passed a stone. It was miserable, painful and I totally hate knowing it could happen again.

One good thing?!? they did a full u/s on baby to make sure he was okay and that my distress did not effect him. He was fine, kicking and adorable. They also did a full check on the placenta, which moved and so not on the cervix, but still very low, my cervix length was 4.57cm, and my uterus is thickening to 1.75mm!! They scar tissue seems to be holding just fine also!! So glad to know all that, but hate why I got to find out now.

lighthouse830
03-09-2010, 09:09 PM
LOL, it was a few minutes of sheer panic on the u/s table. I'm definitely having the MFM check it out. There were 2 techs in the room to do my u/s. The reason they thought there was a third is because they looked at baby b and said that the head was on the left. A minute later they came back and said, no, the head is on the right- and I said, 'the baby flipped completely? I didn't feel that at all!' and the tech said that she didn't see that movement either. Then she was checking out the placentas or something and came back and said, what a sec, the head is on the left now! She kept checking on baby a and the head was in the same position it had been for the whole u/s. Then when the third tech came in, she thought she found a rump that she couldn't associate with baby a or b. Then she didn't see it again after she was surveying my whole belly and coming back to see it again to find the rest of that baby's body. It was very odd. My mom was in the room and kept saying, 'we can't fit a third crib in that room! we'll have to bring back your strollers!' I think she was in panic mode too LOL.... All three techs concluded that there must be only two in there because no one else has seen 3 babies in all the u/s I've had... I didn't find that to be a reassuring conclusion when all three techs had doubts that there were only 2 babies in there!

tink- that is a shocking story about the trips turned quads! You'd think with all the u/s she had they'd have caught it! I hope that is not the case with me :)

LH - well that would explain why your belly is so big!! J/k!! haha That is pretty crazy, though. I tend to agree, too about them knowing before hand because you had the really early u/s where they just saw sacs. Unless something wierd happened and a sac separated into identical twins, I'm not sure how they'd miss something like that. You had u/s pretty regularly the whole way through, didn't you?

Ok, I'm going to show my stupidity here, but what exactly is MFM? I am assuming it's some kind of specialist high risk dr, but didn't know what it stood for. lol

As for me, I'm still here. The last few days have been hard for me because yesterday was my mom's b-day, but I'm getting through it. :)

lighthouse830
03-10-2010, 08:40 AM
chelsleaf- I'll definitely let you girls know how tomorrow goes! :) I had triplet nightmares all night last night!

birdling- you're going to love san francisco! DH & I honeymooned there and would love to go back one day. If you're doing alcatraz, book your tickets BEFORE you leave- they are hard to get once you get there!

knut- did annie have a bunch of u/s too? I would think so with triplets!

leann- ((hugs)) for your mom's birthday; I would miss my mom terribly too if I were in your shoes right now. MFM is maternal fetal medicine; they are the high risk OBs. I didn't know what it stood for either until I was pregnant with twins :) If there is a third baby, it would have to be an identical to A or B. I only had 2 embryos put in and we didn't DTD around the time of egg retrieval/ovulation because I was too sore. It's so rare that the embryo would have split, and they never said anything on my early u/s at the IVF clinic, where it should have been evident if there was a third baby IMO. I believe I've had a 6, 7, 9, 13, 18, 22, 24, 26, 28, 29, 31 (level 2), & 33 week u/s at various places. It would seem so unlikely that after 11 u/s they found a triplet at the 33 week one, right?!?

JessicaH
03-10-2010, 09:07 AM
lighthouse - I'm fairly certain Annie had a lot of ultrasounds and that it was a new tech at her 29 week appt who found the 4th baby.

lh- that would be quite the suprise! I would think that they would have seen it too...but I guess sometimes they don't also. Good luck at the mfm!

Leeann- hang in there! I can only imagine this pregnancy has been hard for you with missing your mom, and ofcourse b-days can't be that easy either.

bird-vacation sounds good! I hope guys have fun in SF!

Reba-Good to hear the lo is still doing good...I hope you're feeling better, and wont have to go through all that again..especially before baby gets here!

afm- nothing new here really-just kinda tired.....work seems to be wearing me out now..especially since its the long late shift, and I'm often running around like my tail's on fire!

LH - I guess you never know! I would seem to think it's unlikely if they "thought" they saw a 3rd baby but then couldn't find it while searching where they thought it might be. It also seems it would be easier for a 4th baby to hide when there are 3 hanging out in there already. Who knows, though!

LH - Dang, now I am more excited to hear about your appt tomorrow then mine like someone else said. I have always had a fear that they would look and one day there would be more than one!!

Leann - I hope that things start looking up for you.

I hope everyone's upcoming appt are less eventful than LH! :p Too much of the talk about Trips turning to Quads is liable to get back to Sunshine on the 2nd tri board and scare her to death.

LOL, you are right Darlin...we don't want her to have a heart attack!!!

LH - I'm sure they would've noticed a 3rd by now with all of those u/s. However, I will be checking the boards tomorrow anxiously waiting to hear about your appointment :)

leeann - I hope you feel better.....I can't imagine going through what you have (are) with losing your Mom (((HUGS)))

Anyone starting to get nervous about the entire labour and delivery part of this pregnancy?!?!?! It's like all of a sudden it's going to be time and it's starting to freak me out, lol. What are people's thoughts on trying drug free versus straight to epidural or something? I really don't want to have to go the route of an epi or other drugs but am not sure how much I can handle....just curious as to what you ladies are thinking???

Lighthouse - yep, Annie was about 29 weeks and after many ultrasounds (from the very beginning) they found Katie girl hiding out! What they did was send her for an abdominal x-ray. It's safe at this point because the babies are already well formed. It's the best way to see what is really going on in there. With Annie, they found four perfect little bodies in there. My mom also had this done with me when she was about 32 weeks pregnant - they didn't do ultrasounds 34 years ago and she was measuring big, plus her mother had surprise twins! So we have an awesome x-ray that shows me inside of my mom's belly!

Not trying to scare you, just saying that it's possible. As the MFM to order an x-ray. Good luck!

LOL Preemie!! :) That's funny!

I forgot to add - Lighthouse - I was thinking about the possibility of a 3rd baby last night and I remembered you had said something before about their being extra fluid but that they weren't too concerned because of the twins. Maybe there's extra fluid b/c there's a 3rd baby in there! hahaha Can't wait to hear what the mfm says!

Leeann- hang in there. I know it's hard, I'm feeling weepy myself. The date of my mom's passing is coming up at the end of the month. I wish she was here, she was dd's everything and would've been the same for this one. It's just different without her, you know? They'd be happy for us,and I'm sure are looking down on us with smiles!!!!

lighthouse- hope for your sake there's only 2 beans in there!!! we're all waiting on pins and needles for you to give us the report though!!!! i totally remember the person tink was talking about that was told 3 and there was a 4th! i even just got done reading "White Chocolate Moments" (set in the 90's and 2000's) where the mom was having her baby and had 2 instead of one... can't wait to hear!

He always wanted to have a boy but it didn't work and he got me and my sister so I know he would be thrilled to have a grandson! Someone told me something that makes me cry everytime I think about it...Just think your loved oned held your child before he/she was born. Brings tears to my eyes every time.

Ok, I just popped in and read the last four pages and I am going crazy wanting to know!
My daughter's daycare provider had twins and they didn't know it until she delivered one and then they were like, oh, there's another one and she had ultrasounds too! No one ever saw the other baby. Not to add anything but my sis just had twin boys and was much smaller then lighthouse.

I'm going to be checking the boards all night now!

off that topic tho..i've been SO uncomfortable all day today! this lo has been putting pressure on my like ds1 did the day before he was born-pressing up AND down-but I still dont feel anything that feels like contractions-so i doubt it's even bh ones..its just outward pressure!

Hi everyone :) Well, they are *almost positive* that there is only two.... still not 100% convinced but I just keep telling myself how unlikely it would be to have a third in there! They still kept seeing baby b in flipped positions during the u/s when I hadn't felt a thing- which seems odd to not feel a 5lb 3oz baby flipping in your tummy when I tend to feel every other little thing! They'd say, okay, the head is over here, then oh, no, the head is over on the other side now.... and basically they said that there isn't a whole lot of baby except their hands on the entire left side of my tummy- but I'm not lopsided, so I can't figure that one out!

So, the babies are 5lbs 2 oz & 5 lbs 3 oz. Great sizes. Cervix has shortened to the 2.6-2.9 area- the doctor doesn't think I'll make it too much further. Cervix was 4.67 last week. 7 more days and I can deliver at my local hospital with the level II NICU instead of Boston with the level II NICU- a great milestone!

I wasn't ignoring you guys at all! I promise! I really thought it was funny to have so many 'stalkers' out there tonight though ;) I've had contractions almost exactly 10 minutes apart since about noon. I've been trying to get them to stop at home (because it's still only 6 per hour) and so I've been downstairs on the couch all day with the pad of paper (and oodles of water) to record everything. I'm just exhausted now and hoping that sleep will get them to stop.

Tink
03-11-2010, 09:42 PM
Wow!!! Well, we'll all be anxiously awaiting on your delivery day then!! :p Hope you're able to hold off for the next week!! I can't believe the kiddos are already over 5lbs!!! Owen was 5lbs at 38 weeks!! You have some great sized babies in there lighthouse....they are going to do great no matter when you have them!

chelseaf
03-11-2010, 09:46 PM

03-11-2010, 10:51 PM
LH - That is crazy!! Hope it really is only 2 in there and that the u/s was just doing something funny. Good luck keeping them in there for a week more, but also the contractions do not sound like fun.

Everyone obsessing made me laugh. I kept checking, but not posting and all the "stalkers" made me feel like i should not post too.

03-12-2010, 12:07 AM
Man!! Don't get on for a few days and I miss all the stalking! I always miss all the fun. :) Lighthouse, glad everything is still looking good, whether it's two babies or three! Hope you can keep them baking just a bit longer but that's great that they're so big and healthy already!

Leeann -- so sorry you've been down. I can't even imagine what it would be like not to have your mom there during the pregnancy. ((Hugs)) to you, lady.

So the OB appointment went well, and I've been cleared for travel next week (which is good, since I'd already bought the tickets!)! Yay! Doc said he wants to see me in two weeks and then he'll see me weekly. Crazy, that! Can't believe I'm about to the weekly appointment stage. Also, is it typical for the baby's heartbeat to slow down a bit? I know one doppler reading doesn't mean much, but in the past the heartbeat's usually been low 140s and yesterday it was low 130s. Don't think it was a big deal, but just thought I'd check ...

leeann38
03-12-2010, 06:26 AM
birdling - I'm not sure about the h/b thing, but it seems like Kelsey's was always in the 150s then at my last appointment it was 130s/140s. So I guess it just depends on where you're at in your pg and what they are doing. lol

jessicaileen
03-12-2010, 07:36 AM
birdling - Don't be concerned about the HB changing....I have a fetal doppler at home that counts the HB per minute and his is usually in the low 150s but sometimes his is in the 140s and we've even had it in the high 130s...I think it depends on how active he is. If he's sleeping, his heartrate must slow down so I wouldn't be concerned at all.

lh - Congrats on the great news with the baby weights! That's awesome! I will pray for you to make it 7 more days, but either way, as long as they are healthy, who really cares where you deliver? Although, I know this is another one of your milestone goals. I'll be thinking and praying for you!

lighthouse830
03-12-2010, 08:11 AM
Tink- My sister's baby is now 5lbs2oz (he's a week old) and she was 37wk5d, so it's funny to think that I have two of him in my tummy now! :) Both babies are in the 60th percentile, which is such a change from my daughters who were each 6 1/2 lbs at 39 weeks!

birdling- The twinkies have different heart rates at different times and they said that is completely normal. Usually A is around 145, B is around 160, but I've seen fluctuations in both that range 135 to 165. That's great that you're cleared for travel!

red & chelsleaf- the contractions slowed down as I slept because I'm not getting them consistently now, but when I woke up at 2:30 they were still going. I still can't figure out the flipping baby thing! I really hope there is no surprise on delivery day!!!!

jessica- I really appreciate the thoughts and prayers :) They've gotten me this far! Even though they have great weights, there is still a concern about their respiratory system when they're early as well as if they will have the ability to suck & swallow & breathe in a coordinated movement. After 34 weeks I've been told it gets better, but 36 weeks would be ideal in that they probably wouldn't have to worry about any issues at all and they'd come home without having to stay at the hospital longer than me. As miserable as I am, I'd rather ME be miserable than the babies if they had to have tubes shoved down their throats, etc because I went into labor too early.

I keep looking at everyone's HB ranges and wonder if the old wives tale is true about slower HB is a boy, faster is a girl. What do you guys think?

Tink
03-12-2010, 08:57 AM
birdling- I think the hr changes also depending on if baby is active or in a sleeping state. I can remember Owen's going down into the 120's one time and they weren't concerned. Yay for being cleared for travel!

Lighthouse- glad the contractions slowed for you. I think you're going to make it far...I have faith in you!! I totally understand about wanting to get the babies to a healthy age. With Owen they didn't think I would make it to 28weeks and all I could think about was him having to struggle because my body wasn't holding him in long enough. I was so uncomfortable laying down all the time (even to eat!) but I knew it was better for me to do that then for him to struggle. We made it though...and you can too! ;)

As far as the hr wives tale... Owen's was always in the 150's, which is fairly high, which should have indicated girl based on the tale. This baby is always in the 150's too...so, we'll see if I have another boy baking in there in a few more months!

katiejill
03-12-2010, 07:47 PM
Brett and this one were in the 150's too.

I am in a horrible mood. The hormones I tell ya. My husband is ticking me off. I come home and he's just snoring on the couch....Ok I work too and you can't just help me for a minute. Anyway just my mood I am sure LOL.

I passed my glucose test. YAY! Was not wanting to do the 3 hour one. I go every 2 weeks now. This is crazy how fast it is going.

lighthouse830
03-12-2010, 09:33 PM
wow, two boys in the 150s, so that theory really isn't ringing true for you guys :) I don't remember what my girls were for hbs. Baby A averages 140, baby B 160, so I'm hoping it's one of each!

katie- congrats on the glucose test :)

AFM, had another trip to L&D for contractions. It turns out I have another UTI (third one since the new year! Last one was only 10 days ago) which is causing all of these contractions. Since yesterday, I've effaced almost completely, cervix is really short, and baby A is really on my cervix where it's funneled open. This was a change from yesterday when I still had 2.6-2.9cm left to my cervix! They don't think I'll make it much longer at all. I left there contracting irregularly and was told if I contracted again where I could time them and they were reliable to come in, even if they were far apart. They're now looking for the timeable ones because I'm almost always passing the 4-6 contractions per hour mark. I'm hoping for 6 more days!

LH - hope you get can keep going to one more week, but it looks like you get to meet your LOs soon.

Katie - so glad you don't have to do the 3 hr test, it is not fun at all.

AFM - I am doing a lot better, but still recovering from the stress and issues that my gallstone attack caused on my body. I am excited for a plan free weekend to just relax and enjoy hanging out with DH. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

pjs3902
03-13-2010, 09:50 PM
lh- glad to find you're still hanging in there!

as for hb's--- dd was usually 160'ish... but once it was 140's and sometimes it was 170's depending on how active she was... with this one we've had hb's at 149 and 170... so who knows!!!

RedReba
03-14-2010, 09:53 PM
Well I have had pretty stead HB for my little guy around 140-145 each time only time it was higher was when I was having my gallstone issue and it was 155-160, then went back down when the pain subsided.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I had a relaxing weekend, but still overdid it by sewing for more then 8 hours straight on Saturday and my ankles were puffy again. oh well got a lot doen and feeling great.

Okay I just read all the pages about LH's scare...I'm now frantically sending Annie a message on facebook asking her how early her first u/s was and how many sacs they saw initially..lol. I have an appt with my MFM on wednesday and I think I'll make sure they look all around. Eek!

lighthouse830

red- I hope you're feeling better!

pjs- are you going to find out what you're having, or is it going to be a surprise? That HB runs the whole range! :)

sunshine- LOL, I am in the same boat as you about freaking out! When I went on Friday again one of the nurses said that she still thinks that there are three in me... I don't see how it is possible after a dozen u/s and only having 2 embies put it- it would be so rare to have one split into identicals AND not catch it on u/s for that long I would think! How many did you have put in? Let me know what Annie has to say! I've never talked to her!

chelseaf
03-15-2010, 02:31 PM
LH, I would be going crazy if I were you! lol. Did they do another u/s when the nurse said she still thinks there are three? And how are you feeling? Anymore contractions?

Reba, keep those feet up! I hope you got some rest this weekend!

SunshineDust
03-15-2010, 03:34 PM
LH- we did four lol...so it is quite a possibility. But they've never seen 4 of anything so I'm hoping it's only 3. She said they didn't find her fourth until 29w4d...after tons of u/s. I agree with you though, you'd think with it being an identical they would have seen it...unless it didn't split until later, but idk...unless you got pregnant spontaneously at the same time as your ivf..lol. My first u/s was at 6 weeks and there was definitely 3 sacs..so I don't know. Craziness!!!!

03-15-2010, 03:58 PM

AFM - I tried to relax over the weekend, but got busy sewing and then Saturday night out with my husband shopping at the mall. It was a great weekend and today we had nice weather and it was great to get some time outside!!!! I am so glad that after tomorrow I don't have school for over a week and a half. leann- yay for making it to 30 weeks! Hopefully you get your date and then you'll know exactly when your LO is coming :)

katie- are you having a scheduled c-section too? Or is 39 weeks when they think you'll deliver on your own by? I was given 38 weeks as the end of the twin pregnancy (April 15), but hopefully I don't go that long!

Judy and Lighthouse from what I remember Annie's quads they never suspected more than three up till a 29 week ultrasound. She ended up having a xray done and it showed 4 skeletons. I don't know how many ultrasounds or nst's or anything she had at that point. I wouldn't be surprised if there were 3 in there lighthouse! What a surprise and blessing great thing to hold over their heads to get great mothers day presents right LOL

lighthouse830
03-17-2010, 08:17 AM
judy- I count every pregnancy & baby in there as a blessing, but just like someone with a singleton who dreads having twins, I would dread a late pregnancy (or delivery!) of triplets :) LOL you need to prepare for these things. Besides, I really can't fit a third crib in there! I'd have to start hanging hammocks on top of one another LOL....

leann- yay on May 20th! Sounds like a great day to have a baby ;) Since it's a thursday, you'll be home for Monday then, right?

wantingbabynumber2- With the size of my belly, it does look like I could have three in there LOL, but I'm really hoping that the u/s findings are like that because it's just that the twins are so squished that it's hard to tell who's who. Like I was saying to judy/sunshine, I really can't fit a third crib lol.....

pjs3902
03-17-2010, 09:57 AM
lh- the good news is if there is three- they'll be small enough to bunk together for a while-- but that being said- what are the odds that all three will actually be asleep at the same time for a long while out?!?!

leeann38
03-17-2010, 01:00 PM
lighthouse - I'll most likely get out Sunday. I had Makenna on a Monday and got out Thursday... my hospital does 4 days/3 nights for c-sections. However, Makenna got jaundice and if she would have needed to stay another night (thankfully she didn't) they weren't too busy and were going to let me stay in my room overnight again to keep up with bfing because it was exclusive at that time and I would have had to take care of myself and provided my own meals. I'm hoping Kelsey doesn't get jaundice, but you never know! :)

LH - For you sanity I hope there are only 2.

I was realizing that most likely 2 months from this week, I will be holding my LO. It is crazy how fast and yeat how slow pregnancy has gone. My dr. called today just checking to make sure I didn't have another gallbladder attack and to check on my fluid retention levels in my feet and ankles. he called out of the blue, just cause he has been worried about me. I just have to say I am glad I have a great Dr. and his staff always helpful too. Based on ankle measurements today, he is thinking bedrest can be put off till at least my nest apt. if not later!!! I am so glad, this way I can keep working and attending my classes.

PJS- LOL, I don't even know if I'll ever get TWO to sleep at the same time, never mind three! I'm in mass, so only a few more hours until 34 weeks :) yay!

Reba-good to hear you have a dr that is thinking about you when you're outside the office! I hope you do get to keep the bedrest away!

naomi-yay for the 3rd tri! I hope you can go longer this time without needing bedrest!

Leeann-that would've been nice of them to do that. my dr actually just discharged both of us since his levels were low enough for a night at home, and then had us come back the next day- i still had to feed myself(which i'll admit took some nudging from my mom and the nurses to get me to leave the room-so I often had my mom bring me food!) but i still got to sleep right next to him in the peds wing-he was also the ONLY child there the 1st nite(same thing happened the last time he was admitted-the hospital had to open the peds wing just for him!)

lh- yay for 34 wks!!! lets see if you can push it to 36 now(not that you've gotten big enough already!)

i've been lurking around, but not normally much to add- i see my dr again tomarrow..sooo we'll see how things go!

Thanks for the fanfare leann! :) I am soooo excited! This was the biggest goal for me this pregnancy once I got out of the first trimester. Yayyyyyyyy 34 weeks!!!!!!! If I could dance right now I would, but my hips feel like they're splitting in two so I'll do a happy dance in my head :)

Now watch, they'll have to induce me in 4 weeks because the twinkies decide that they actually like staying in the cramped quarters! :)

Cac-Good luck at your appt.
Red-That is great that your dr. takes such a personal interest. My RE was like that and called me himself out of the blue when I had OHSS and it makes you feel so much better.

AFM-I've been horrible about posting and keeping up. I'm trying to get as much done at work as I can without over doing it. My plan is do get all of my IEPs (SPED teacher) done by the end of April, just in case but at the same time I don't want to stress myself out so much that I end up on bedrest while I am trying to avoid it. I am in serious nesting mode which is hard to do with a 1yr old who wants to "help" mama:) I am setting my goals small though. Today, I want to reorganize the kid's cabinet in my kitchen, have lunch with a friend and cook dinner for my family. I would say clean but the cleaning ladies come today! Yippy!

Sorry to those I missed. Hope everyone is doing well.

LH- totally random thought, and I don't know where it came from...but I'm curious. :p How are you working it with names since you don't know gender? I'm assuming you have 2 girl names, 2 boy names, and a set of boy/girl names. Soooo, do the set of boy/girl names include names that you would use if you had 2 of same gender? And how did you decide which of the 2 to use...just which ones you liked better? or 2 that sounded good together? Like I said...totally random :p ;)

lighthouse830

tink- we had two names (a boy & a girl) picked out a few years ago when we started trying for a baby. We still love those names, so those are our 'firsts' meaning first girl, first boy name. The 'seconds' are for if there is a second boy or girl. The names are mostly family related. They are:

1st girl: Julia Catherine
2nd girl: Emily Josephine
1st boy: James Patrick
2nd boy: Thomas Joseph

I spent last night & today in L&D. What a sucky night. I decided to give up laying down and sat up most of the day in a chair. The contractions started coming around 5pm... every 7 minutes. Eventually by 9pm they were every 4 or 5 minutes. All time-able right from 5pm. I was so excited. I went in and the doctor on call said that I had two options. C-section with him last night or terbutaline to stop labor and wait for my doc in the morning. I opted for the meds. This morning I find out my doc isn't going to be around until monday. Then he's only on for day shifts Mon-Wed and on vacation after that until April 1st. UUUUUGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!! He is the ONLY doc in the hospital that will deliver the twins vaginally, which I REALLY want because I had such great labors with my other daughters. So, the solution was to put me on terbutaline at home with strict strict bedrest until April 1st. I came home today so disheartened and upset. Part of me says that I should just stop the meds and suck it up for the c-section. The other part of me knows that the babies are better off at 36 weeks and if I have a vaginal it's a much easier delivery/recovery. The problem is that my pelvic region feels like it's splitting in two already when I try to walk with the weight of the twins (they are each about 5 3/4 lbs now) and it makes it almost impossible to walk without wincing. There is a name for it, but I don't remember what it's called when that happens. So, I'm bummed and upset and not sure what to do. :(

Aww LH- I'm sorry. I think it's called lightening or quickening or something. I had that with Owen for about 4-5 days before I went into labor...I was miserable so I can't imagine having 2 Owens in there! I also feel bad for you because I've been on terb before and I know how shakey and yucky you can feel on it. It would be a hard decision and I wish you so much luck. I had a great labor and delivery w/ Owen and am hoping for the same experience this time, so I can understand your feelings there too. Has the teb stopped the contractions? I know some women contract through the terb anyway. (((hugs))) hang in there.

Oh- and I love the names :)

lighthouse - I really have no advice for you other than I had a c-section and had no issues with it and an easy recovery, so it's really just up to you :) I agree that they will be strong if you wait 2 more weeks (and less time they would be away from you in the NICU!)

lh- cute names! Sorry for the sucky night- If you can wait it out for the 2 wks for your dr-then i hope the lo's cooperate and let you!

afm- I had my dr appt today-and we had to give up the hr! He was moving so much that we'd get it for a second and then he'd move and we'd have to try to find it again! So she said "I give up! As long as baby's happy, then I'm happy!" lol But we should be able to get it tomarrow when I go for my first nst!- 2ce a week now so it looks like I'll be more busy with appts than anything! oh- bonus part-she said one of the nst's each wk should come with an u/s to check fluids-so I get to see my lo atleast once a wk now(and 2ce when I have my next mfm appt)! btw---I STILL don't feel a single braxton hicks- So I'm interested to see if I'm getting them and not feeling them! it made me have another weird dream- I had a dream I was at work and like- well I think I'm leaking fluids-gotta go! I got the hospital and was nearly all the way dialated-and didnt feel a single contraction! lol if only rite?

03-20-2010, 10:14 AM
cac- love the dream- wish it was a reality! :)

leann- for your c-section, did you have staples or tape or what did they close you up with? That's great that you had an easy recovery!

chelsleaf- thanks for the encouragement :)

tink- It's something different than just the pressure of the head... I remember what that feels like :) baby A is practically going to fall out of me once I dilate LOL. What I have is when the pubic bones separate too much. I looked up the technical name for it and it's called Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD). There is a small gap between the pelvic bones that naturally widens with pregnancy, but if it opens too much, it's pretty painful. You can hear the bones 'clicking' down there when you roll over or try to walk and it really feels like you're about to split in two. I never had this with my other pregnancies, but like all the crappy symptoms, it's more likely in a multiples pregnancy. It developed about 3 months ago or so, but it's been getting much worse as the weeks go by & the babies get bigger.

leeann38
03-20-2010, 11:09 AM
lh - no staples. I'm assuming it was stitches or something. There never was anything to remove. They put this tape over top of the incision that dissolved after about 5-6 weeks, so if I rubbed my finger over the incision, it felt like there was a thin piece of material or something glued over it. I just washed it easily with soap like the rest of my body. They checked it daily in the hospital and then not again until my 6 week check up, but by then the tape had mostly washed off. Now there is just a thin white line there, and it's under my fat roll, so I never see it. LOL! I don't have as much feeling in that area as I used to, but it doesn't really matter to me. I don't think I'd like staples. lol

Oh, Lighthouse! I can SO understand the painful pelvis!!! I'm dealing with the same problem! I can't lean too far to one side or it feels like my pelvis is going to break! I have to "pop" the split section back together. On top of hurting, it gives me the heebie jeebies!!! OY! Well, granted, I only have one little one in there, but it still hurts like the ****ens!!! I feel like I'm broken, walking around like an old lady!!!

lighthouse830
03-20-2010, 06:34 PM
leann- my friend had tape and she said it was easy to recover from too. I have no idea what the docs at my hospital use though! here's a tmi question for you: i will have lots of loose skin and I'm sure that I'll have a fat roll/flap over where the incision will be. Is it hard to keep it clean? Is it hard to wear pants? I am trying to prepare myself for the high probability of a c-section based on the availability of my doctor.

onemiraclebaby- i am so sorry that you're going through the same thing! I had never heard of it before this pregnancy. Did you have it in your last one too?

leeann38
03-20-2010, 07:00 PM
lighthouse - I am very heavy and have a big belly even when not preggo, so when the docs checked my incision, they had to lift up on my belly to see it. It was easy for me to keep clean and it didn't get infected at all despite all the horror stories I read about obese women having a higher probability of infection. What I did is I made sure I washed it really well every morning, then I used a blow dryer on low to completely dry the whole area, then I got a long piece of a gauze pad and folded it in half so it was long like a hot dog bun, lifted up my fat roll for lack of a better term, and used it to cover the incision to keep it clean and dry. My fat held it in place. LOL!! I did that for the first week or 2 at least, I think. No problems at all. And absolutely not pain at all "down below" LOL!! In fact, it's probably less painful to recover from the c-section than carry around all the weight you are of those babies in your abdominal region. haha You will be really sore when sitting down and standing for the first week or so - pretty much when you use your abs to assist you with things like that, but it gets better and you totally forget it.

Preemienurse
03-20-2010, 07:49 PM
I did the same thing as Leeann, using dry gauze in the "crack" by the incision to keep it dry. Helps A TON. You'll be wearing maternity pants for awhile afterwards and it won't bother the incision because the waistband will be over your belly while the incision is really really low, it's just above your pubic area. Some places still use staples but it's more common for them to use dissolving sutures instead with steri-strips (it's like tape) to reinforce the incision. The strips will slowly come off over time, don't pull them! Most times you won't even be able to see the stitches - they usually do them in a way so that it's on the inside of the skin, kind of like how you hem things when they're inside out so it looks better on the outside! Some places might also use a special glue to hold the incision shut. The key is to keep the area DRY at all times so keep an eye on that gauze pad and change as needed. It's also best to not be up and around too too much, because that can put stress on the incision.

lh- i was talkin to my friend who just had her baby a few weeks ago,and im not sure if it happened to her during labor, or it was before, but her daughter put so much pressure on her pelvis that it separated also!-she was not a happy camper with contractions!...i hope you do get some sort of relief though!

afm- i had my nst- and he flipped on me! so i'm going to have to have a talk with him again in turning again and staying that way! I'm also apparently getting quite a few contractions- but i dont feel a thing! lol...maybe i'll have SOME truth to my wacky dream from my nap yesterday(although it really is in my dreams rite?)!

thanks for the info on c-section recovery :) I have a feeling that is what I'll end up with. I have a feeling I'll be in maternity pants for the next year with all the loose skin/flab I'll have after this. I'm now up about 30 lbs, so I'll definitely have some extra to lose especially since this is the high-weight-gain time in the pregnancy. I wasn't small to begin with anyways at 5'9" in a size 14. They told me to expect a couple pounds gained per week now.

cac- how is he flipped? what position? that's great that you're not feeling the contractions. I don't remember every getting any before labor with my first two (and I never had any nsts or was hooked up to anything to monitor them prior to labor, so who knows?), but with these guys I definitely get them all the time! How is your friend doing now? Does her pelvis still hurt? I've heard it can take a while to recover sometimes.

LH - Sorry you're having such a rough time right now but just think, your little ones will be here in no time. It sounds like you would be much more comfortable if you could avoid the C-section so if you can wait it out at all that's probably what I would do. Plus, like you mentioned, it will give them another 2 weeks in there getting stronger and stronger. Just remember that you can only do so much and what happens happens, so try not to beat yourself up if you don't end up waiting until April 1. It will all work out I'm sure.

cac- It's good that you're not feeling those contractions...if only that dream would come true :)

AFM, dh & I spent the weekend getting things ready - baby's room organized and some things set up, got a start on packing my bag for the hospital and such...just in case we go early and if we don't, then I can relax for the next few weekends :) Starting to get really tired now though and thinking a lot about the actual labour and delivery part of things. I am really hoping to avoid a c-section also, if at all possible. i see my doc tomorrow again so will see if baby is still head down and how things look with my cervix. Nobody that I know thinks I will go until my actual due date so you never know I guess :)

In California, it was a long drive and busy day yesterday, but now I get some time to relax. The shower was fun and we goat a lot of things, quite a bit from our registry, but no of the big items. I was hoping to get a few, but if not we will buy what we need. We did get a few gift cards which will help with the larger items. LH - It does feel good to be getting so close to ready :)

Cac - I know what you mean, realistically I know I should be relaxing more than doing other stuff but there just seems like so much to do to get ready, lol!!

My doctor put me off of work today due to high blood pressure...she said it's not high for a lot of people but for me, it's high. I had steady bp around 110/75 since about 4 months on until today when it was in the 130's/88. I told her I'd been having a tiny bit of cramping so she checked my cervix and said I am about 2 cm dialated already!!! holy cow that was wierd to hear - I have no idea how fast or slow things might progress but let me tell you I am really feeling the need to put the final items in my bag and charge my cameras, lol!!! She has me scheduled for an u/s on Wednesday to make sure all is okay and to get an idea on baby's size...he or she is head down and ready to go though...so exciting :)

AFM -- only one more visit with the MFM after today; everything has looked great so far, cervical length 3.6 today, etc. etc. He said I could come back in 3-4 weeks for one last check as long as my regular OB does weekly checks. Yay! Also, baby is currently measuring almost 5 pounds -- wow! Another big one, I guess.

Getting mildly anxious because baby is still breech. I know there's still time, and this one seems to have much more room in there than Daniel ever did (and consequently is much more active -- Cac, I hear you about the gymnast!) -- but I really want it to turn NOW!!

I have been reading, but not posting cause I have not had time. I am in Vegas right now relaxing with my BF and her family that I have always considered my other family. went to the doctor's yesterday and BP was up and I gained 10 lbs in the last 6 days- a l ot of fluid weight. They sent me to the hospital for monitoring and the babies look good. I go every other day now for tests at the hospital.

they did a weight check on the babies (not on the level II, so I don't know how accurate it is) and they were 7lbs 8oz and 6 lbs 12 oz!!!!! yikes... they should each be about 6 1/4 lbs if you go by what they were 2 weeks ago and the general rule that they gain 1/2 lb each per week. well, off to lay down again! So many of you are getting so close!!!

AFM-I posted this on FB too-stupid contractions go away!!!!! Today they have started picked up even while I am sitting down. Part of me just wants to push myself really hard for two weeks and get everything done for work for the rest of the year (within reason) so I won't have to worry about it but then I wonder if that will just put me into labor.

ndinkel - I hope your contractions do go away! I'm thinking that it's probably best NOT to push yourself too much -probably just the opposite...do less! I know - easier said than done but if it will keep those contractions away it will be worth it right?!? Good luck :)

ndinkel - hope the contractions stop! It has to be annoying along with painful.

I am doing well and enjoying my break. It has been fun, but I think preggo hormones are making me super emotional about being apart from my DH. I can't wait to see him tomorrow, though I am not looking forward to the 6 hr. drive alone, but I have my music food, and will stop a lot if needed!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend. I really hope it is uneventful for those trying to keep baking LOs and if hoping LO comes that they don't make you wait too long!!

Hey girls!!

Dh had to work crazy hours Friday (7am-11:30pm) and Saturday (9am-9:30pm) because he has a customer demo on Monday - normally he's an 8-4ish M-F worker. LOL Soooo, I was bored yesterday and got the nursery wall letters pretty much finished. I painted them to match the bedding. Once my camera battery charges, I'll post some pics on here and FB. (my user name on there is leeann38 if you want to find me!)

Everything else is pretty much uneventful, except I am on SPRING BREAK!!!!! 9 days off!!!! WOOOOO HOOOO!!!!

Edit: Added my letters and a pic of the bedding :)

lh- happy 35 wks....maybe the little ones can hold out another week for you now and you can have you dr here for delivery!

trying- yay you made it to 37! that means any day now right?(esp if your lo is dropping!)

Leeann- the lettering is cute!

afm-I had posted this on fb, but thursday and friday, I started noticing some of all those contractions they are telling me that I'm getting. It made for a very uncomfortable couple of days! Friday night though, I had quite a bit of them so I ended up soaking a a hotish warm bath and I really havnt felt so much since-thankfully cuz I wasnt a very happy person for a couple days! lol but other than that, nothing much going on here, I just have a busy week ahead of me since my shower is saturday and i'm kinda co-throwing it with my mom-so lots to do!

LeeAnn - Love the letters.

Cac - Sorry about the contractions, I hope they stop so you can get through the week.

Trying - hope you can get comfortable and LO should be here soon.

LH - did you have the babies? I saw some stuff on FB and hoped you are doing well!

AFM - I am doing well, made it home, but tired. It was a long drive yesterday, but my legs are not really swollen from it. I am hoping my dr. appointment tomorrow will show that I am not having problems. I need just one or two more weeks without bedrest so I can finish the semester.

Reba - I noticed the posts on LH's Facebook page too! It seems from the posts that she had the twins yesterday and that they are both girls...I thought for sure one of them was a boy! haha! I can't wait to hear the birth story and see pictures!

I had to go search FB! That's so exciting! I can't wait to hear the details, either. I hope she is recovering well from her c-section since I am assuming that's how they got here... and glad there's only 2 for her sake! hehe

Cac - Yep, 37 weeks & ready to meet this LO anytime!!! It definitely feels like he/she has dropped and now feeling a lot of pressure so you never know... Glad the hot bath helped with the contractions - I hope you continue to get relief from them for awhile. I'm sure your shower will be a great distraction :)

Red - I think getting comfortable is going to get harder and harder as the days go on but it will all be so worth it. And I'm okay for the most part, just getting anxious now too for the whole delivery part ;) Glad to hear you didn't have a lot of swelling from the drive and that you had a good time!

All this chatter about LH having those babies makes me excited....I can't wait to hear all the details from her :)

LH - Still thinking about you and those LO's :)

I had my appointment today and doc says I am now 3cm dilated and 80% effaced...still have no idea what that means in terms of when I might go into labour but she was very happy with everything and my blood pressure was good as well. So I guess we just keep waiting for baby to tell us when he or she is coming!!

Hope everyone else is doing well :)

trying- technically you could hold at 3 and 80 for a few days/week...BUT...I measured 3cm and 80% and went into labor the next day!!!! I hope your LO comes soon....so exciting!!!

Trying - Hope your LO comes soon, I know you are anxious. I can't wait to find out what it is!

Hope everyone is doing good. Can't wait to hear from LH, I just knew there would be three babies, guess I was wrong. She did add two to the Pink team though. Sure seems like a lot of girls on here lately.

Darlin - that's because we had an early explosion of all boys! lol

Trying - you are so close, the waiting must be so hard.

There are a lot of girls right now being born, but then there are a lot of boys for May and june!! I think it all evens out pretty well.

Had Dr. Apt this morning and it went well. I am still measureing 2 weeks big and starting to have regular contractions, we are hiping they are B/H, but cervix is still long (did not give length) and baby has not dropped so not too worried. I am still having major problems with swelling, but have been able to keep undercontrol by not over doing it and keeping feet up when I can. Dr. let me not go on bedrest for now, will reevaluate at next visit in 2 weeks (supposed to be weekly, but Dr. is going on vacation next week). I am glad cause it let me get through presentations at school and a few more classes.

I been lurking, but not posting for a few days now....

I think I might be one of the few who doesnt have lh on my fb! I hope her and the lo's are doing well- seems like the multiples have taken a lot of the girls!

trying- i hope you get to meet your lo soon!(if you havnt already!)

reba- I hope your contractions let up for you.

nm here--had a mini mental meltdown today when i realized that the notebook that i had my entire shower organized in is missing! I found this out when u went to make a shopping list for the food since my mom and i both had today off and she could go with me- so i ended up going back to bed for a nap to restart my day! It kinda worked(I still havnt located my notebook though!) my contractions also let up and at my nst yesterday, they did an u/s and he was completely head down! i hope he stays that way....

I am such a slacker about postin. Not much new here. Just thinking about all the stuff I haven't got ready yet..UGH! I have so much to do and haven't done it yet. It's like I get caught up on cleaning the house and then I am pooped.

I hope everyone is well. I check daily I just don't post:)

I'll be meeting our new little girl in 50 days!! Wooo hoooo! lol

RedReba
03-31-2010, 02:21 PM
LeeAnn - I can't believe only 50 days!! That is getting so close, yet I am scared cause I don't have any of the big items yet. He better not come early, or we will not be ready.

I am doing okay, but having to be very careful to not be up too much, it is hard cause the kids I nanny are off school this week so I have them all day and so I have to do more for them.

Hope everyone is doing well here, there is a lot happening on the 2nd tri boards with ladies and babies needing prayers. so if you pray please add them to yours.

Darlin

Leann - Yay for 50 days, I am at 52 now.

Red - Try to take it easy, I know easier said than done right.

I am keeping the ladies in the 2nd Tri in my prayers for sure, I hope they are able to pull through this soon.

AFM - Been so busy thinking about this LO that DH and I totally forgot our Anniversary, it was a week ago and neither one of us noticed!!

We start the weekly scans next week since I am High Risk with the Gestational Diabetes and all. I have a feeling that she may come early but maybe I am just hoping I guess, would hate to go passed due date. We have some things but not all of the big stuff. We are waiting to see what we get at my two showers next week before we go out and get the rest.

Hope everyone on this board is doing well.
