I have been taking 2000mg of Metformin daily for about 2 1/2 months. This past weekend we went to Indiana and I took all my meds with me. Unfortunately, I left them there. But I only have a few days left anyways. So I called the pharmacy to have it filled.

They couldn't fill it. They called my prescription card company and was told that I could only fill it twice through the pharmacy and then I had to mail order it.  I'm extremely frustrated that I was NEVER informed about this.

So I called the doc asking for samples. They don't carry any. Then I asked how much cinnamon I could take until I get the meds again. They told me not to take the cinnamon because the doc wants me on Metformin.

SOoo.... no meds, no cinnamon is better? I've been without it for 2 days now.

I'm considering going to find some cinnamon and take some but I know you need more cinnamon than Metformin. That dosages don't match one for one. Does anyone know the ratio? If I'm taking 2000mg of Metformin, how much cinnamon should I take?

It seems taking something should be better than nothing. :x

Please help... if possible......

I was taking the regular, not the extended release of Metformin

I'm new to the board... so I'm guessing that AF is Aunt Flo???

If so, then it was 5 1/2 weeks in between one time and 6 1/2 (almost 7) weeks the next time. And right now it has been 4 1/2 weeks and it seems no sign of it coming. But I've read that it can take 3-6 months for your body to adjust to the meds. So time will tell if that will improve.

It seems weird to me that you can't get any of your prescribed meds trhough a pharmacy, you would think they could at least get a few weeks to you until the mail order came through...

Where did you leave them in Indiana..hotel, freind/relative house...maybe they can send them to you...even hotels usually can return personal items...

Call and ask.

hey sjessmer, how do you like that nutrisystem. It seems a little expensive but looks like it might work... I've been thinking about getting on that for awhile.

Sorry for the delay in response, for some reason I don't get notified of responses anymore...I should really look into the why.

Nutrisystem...it is somewhat expensive. I don't follow it 100% everyday. Due to the cost I only get a shipment every couple of months, soI work it in with oher things. They have some very good food and some things that in my opinion are down right awful. You just have to taste stuff, and see what you think.

I would highly recommend that before you dive in, maybe pick up a few items on ebay. To get an idea what you like.

The program is based in the glycemic index which is supposed to be good for PCOS.

Good luck if you try it.
