Here's the hx: I took Clomid almost a year ago and that's when I first noticed the floaters and black spots in my line of vision. Everyone said they would go away a month or so after taking Clomid but they never did. The RE put me on Met, which was okay, then added Dexamethasone. I had horrible visual disturances so he took me off the Dex. Well, I'm still having the black spots, lines, and a little bluriness in my left eye at times. I went to a retinal specialist last week and everything checked out okay. Now I'm just waiting for my RE to call and tell me if he wants me to stay on Met or not.
Has anyone else had visual disturances on Met? Did they stop when you stopped taking it?
Thanks in advance!!

YES! I thought I was the only one.....that is why I never said anything about it. I have had them for a while now.Sometimes I see something run across the floor like a tiny mouse and I'm like what was that. And I am looking and I don't see anything. Sometimes I see shiney gold flecks...and I blink a few times. What is it?

I'm glad I'm not going crazy Steph! The retinal specialist and another dr. said Met doesn't cause visual disturbances (they spoke from experience with their diabetic patients). At least I know I'm not going crazy now. I have no idea what the deal is. I called my dr on Friday to ask if he wants me to continue taking it but of course received no response. So, I refilled my prescription today and will continue taking it until he calls me. I wonder if continuing to take Met, even with these things we see, will damage our vision or if it's okay to keep taking it.

I don't know.....I am waiting for AF to show and then I have to call the dr so I'll ask then. Who knows when it'll be.....AF is always a NO SHOW w/ me. Met really doesn't do anything for me except keep me in a mellow mood all the time.It has helped PMS moody stuff. I'm pretty mellow most of the time!

Hi again Steph, I just talked to my dr (yes, he called me on a Sunday afternoon-I love him!). He is taking me off of the Met. He said he wouldn't take a chance with my vision and wants to see if it clears up. I will go into the office to see him in one month. I just wanted you to know what my dr. said, maybe yours will say something different-I don't know. Take care! :)

I JUST READ THIS AND THOUGHT, OMG THAT IS ME!
I HAVE HAD FLOATERS AND SPECKS FOR YEARS... EVERYONE THOUGHT I WAS GOING MENTAL. WENT TO THE DOC AND THEY RECKON EVERYTHING IS FINE WITH MY EYES.
I'M HAVING THE SAME THINGS AS YOU STEPH, STILL NO AF AND I BEEN ON MET FOR 18 MONTHS. DOESN'T SEEM TO BE DOING ANYTHING FOR ME EITHER. I DIDN'T LOOSE ANY WEIGHT ON IT EXCEPT 11 KG THAT I REALLY WORKED MY BUTT OFF TO LOOSE (LITERALLY!!) AT THE START OF THIS YEAR.
I HAVE CHANGED MY DIET AND THAT HAS HELPED ME WITH SOME OF THE SYMPTOMS THAT I GET, BUT, NOTHING AT ALL SEEMS TO BRING ON MY AF. WHY, I DON'T KNOW???????
