I started taking Metformin almost 2 years ago. While it did help regulate a lot of the internal things going on in my body, I still struggle with acne, hair and weight.
Today I finally saw a real endocrinologist. He's keeping me on 2000 mg of Met a day and, depending on the lab work I'm having done tomorrow, he may start me on spirolactine, birth control and maybe another type of estrogen pill? (I was a little confused but I'll be in contact with him when the results come back.)
I guess I'm just nervous because I'm really excited about the possibilities but I was really let down by the Met (I gained 20 lbs the year after I started it even though I was swimming at least 2 hrs/day and watching my diet). This also sounds like a lot of drugs to be taking at once. I'm not too nervous about that because I had zero side effects on Met, but I'm still a little nervous. Is anyone else on a regiment like this? And, if so, did you see good results? Any input would be MUCH appreciated!!
