I'm new

I have just been dx with PCOS. My OB put me on Loestrin 24 FE BCP. I have been fighting acne for about 4 years now. (I'm 34) After being on the BCP for 4 days, my face went from only 1 or 2 pimples to about 25 pimples. Has anyone else had this same experience using this BCP? I called my OB and told him that I wasn't gonna continue with this BCP and he gave me Yaz to start

My symptoms with PCOS is: Acne, Hair loss/thinning, Cysts on Ovaries, increase in cravings for carbs and sugar and endometeriosis

My OB was just like...take this BCP and you don't really need to make a follow up appt any time soon.

If I were in your shoes, I'd be hightailing it for a new doctor preferably an endocrinologist who understands PCOS better than your OB seems to. This is just the opinion of someone who has had PCOS and was misdiagnosed over 45 years ago.:(
Not much was known about PCOS when I was young and had all the symptoms; in fact there was no such thing as PCOS it was called Stein-Leventhal syndrome at that time (the late fifties, early sixties).

i would see another gynae as well i also have pcos had it since i was 16 now im 26.i had prob's with acne really bad on my face i was put on metformin,and she gave me this lotion for my face i thinkn it's called clindaymcin lotion?? i also used proactiv which helped the lotion worked wonders too.
i also have cysts on both ovaries and hair thinning.
i have a wonderful female gynae which is also a ivf specialist.

I have been on and off BC for a long time (27 now) and acne is a problem for me too...i believe i had issue with loestrin 24...not sure if its monophasic or not but my new gyno is putting me on loseasonique (ill let u know how it goes) which is monophasic *crosses fingers*...Some people say yaz is great but some people react horribly on it...I would just try and look for monophasic though as I'm told--i was on triphasic in the past...Also if you arent on Metformin and/or dont see an endo yet I would definitely look into it...BC is just to control symptoms but Met allegedly gets to the root of the problem
