Does anyone experience bad PMS while taking Metformin? My cramps are more severe and I am having hot flashes (I am 32) which is strange. I am wondering if it is the meds. or going through menopause early?

You may actually be ovulating! Which would be a (positive) s/e of the met. :) If you were seeing early menopause, you'd notice an absence of cycles (at least, regular ones). The heat may be your body trying to regulate itself in the presence of the new balance of hormones...happens to many women when they go on bcps (or come off bcps). ;)

I agree! I started having PMS for the first time in my life since going on Met. I've discussed it with my doc and she said it was a sign my body was beginning to function properly. We have switched my bcp because I've developed menstrual migraines which were making two days a month very difficult to get through. My Mom and Grandmother both had the migraines, so I knew it was a possibility. I don't think I've had hot flashes though...hard to tell with the summer's heat. :)
I would take it as a good sign that the Met is working, but if you are concerned or the sypmtoms get worse call your doc. It never hurts to get their input.
