Hi girls!

I'm new to this website and wanted to pop in and say hello.

Also, I am looking to see if anyone knows of a good doctor in the Columbus area. I have not been diagnosed but have several of the symptoms. I have been to three different doctors and they all seem to minimize the symptoms and the only answer I get is to go on BCP.

Thanks in advance!
Sherry

I see Dr. Michael Parker. He is an ob/gyn.

I See Dr. Michael Parker as well. He is really great. I also went to Ohio Reproductive Medicine (on Dr. Parker's referal) after we concluded I would need the heavy duty meds to concieve. They were also really great. I am seeing Dr. Parker again to try and get the PCO under control without BCPs. Hope you find someone you like and can help you out soon.

Ohiorepromed is probably your best bet. I haven't "been" there yet, but I emailed Dr. Grosskinsky about my situation and he was very kind and helpful.

Good Luck.

I just got back this afternoon from visiting Dr. Friedman at Ohio Reproductive. Although I'm still shaking from the diagnosis, his office was the most efficient and friendly I've ever seen.

Good luck.

I just went to Dr. Kimberly Cull in Powell today. She was great. She spoke with me in her office before my Pap and when I explained my symptoms she said even without the blood tests, she could tell it was PCOS. She gave me an order for blood work, then a prescription for pills to make me start my period, and finally 2 packs of Yasmin to get me started.

Hey girls Happy New Year.
I just moved here to Columbus. From sunny Florida. Just had my first appointment with Ohio Reproductive, it was good. Going to start taking Metformin. Dr. Friedman also gave me a pill to start a period. Just looking for someone who knows what I am going through and is in the area that might like to get to know each other. Ive been married since April 2005 Cant wait to start TTC. Let me know if you want to chat. :P :D

I'd be happy to start chatting! I don't personally know anyone else with PCOS so it'd be nice to have someone to share experiences with. Maybe we could find more people and get the Columbus chapter up and running again.

Hi. I'm from Reynoldsburg! I went to Ohio Reproductive Medicine. There are very nice! I had 2 IUI's done there. No luck yet though. My OBGYN is on E. Broad Street. Her name is Dr. Kurup. Very nice lady and very understading. Knows about PCOS.

Tell more about a columbus Chapter. what would we do?

Coffee Club at Panera Bread anyone??

Coffee Club at Panera Bread anyone??

Haha, I need to stay out of Panera! I love their bagels TOO much...but my endo said to be on a low-carb diet so I try to stay away from things like that...don't have the willpower to resist.

I know.... bummer. How many carbs are you allowed? I was told no more than 10 servings of 15 grams of carbs a day. So a piece of bread would be one serving. I'm trying to follow the low GI diet and eating foods that have a low effect on blood sugar. Panera has good chicken salads... We could go somewhere else...

Just wanted to say I'm another PCOSer from Cols. I'm not being formally treated for it yet (yay for other health complications) but started taking cinnamon which seems to be working. Glad to see the list of doctors because I went to a gyn that was totally unhelpful.

Oh also, is anyone being seen by someone who practices traditional chinese meds (TCM)? Thanks
