HOW DOES MET WORK FOR YOU?

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW FOR THOSE WHO HAVE USED OR ARE CURRENTLY USING METFORMIN- IS IT HELPING YOU?

I AM CONSIDERING USING THIS MED FOR MY PCOS, SO PLEASE RESPOND IF YOU CAN :)

I put better but with side effects but that's only cos I haven't been on it very long. I think you also have to wait a few months, 6 or more, to see some effect.

My daughter has been on metformin for about 7 months. She has had her doses changed 3 times with each change she gets severe diarrhea and stomach cramps and then she will usually have break through bleeding. Her Dr. just switched her to Fortamet 1000mg once daily. She is still having stomach aches but not as bad.

hello, i'm new.
i was diagnosed 4 years ago, i was put on metformin. i started at the lowest dosage and my doctor incresed to 2000mgs a day. Then my doctor retired and i got a new one. He prescribed me metformin, but 3000mgs a day. Ouch! it wasnt fun. this was obviously too much, but before the increase i had all the side effects and only lost 5pounds. i didnt think the side effects were worth the lacking results. By the way i was on it for about 6 months.

on the poll i put getting better and i just started my pills 8 days ago but i was lucky cause i didnt have any of those nasty side effects ppl say they get and i was thankful be cause i was afraid id have side effects. :) Hope every1 is doing good and good luck with meds

I started my met 9 days ago as well!!! I feel great with the exception of the night that I totally chowed down on huckleberry jam.

I've been on metformin for almost two years now and it has really helped, especially with my mood and apitite, wonderful medication!
