Hello!
I am about to start met and was wondering how much I should expect to pay for it? I do have insurance but have no idea how much it covers. How much did you guys pay? Thanks!

Your insurance should cover Metformin as it is a Type II diabetic drug.
If it does not, Met is only around $25.00 for 90 pills.

I was wondering the same thing! Glad to hear that it's usually covered.

My insurance will only cover one brand...Fortamet XR...and it's $40 a month. If I order it through the insurance company though they'll give me a 90 day supply for $80.

if your insurance is limited, check out walmart.com. They have a new program with severely discounted drugs, and met is one of them. If it's in your state, you may be able to get met for $4/mo, regardless of copay or insurance coverage. 8)

I was just thinking that same thing. Wal mart has it on their list of 4 dollar medications. If your state is doing that I would check that out!!

I have been on Met for about a year, and have Patient Choice through Wausau Benefits (WI insurance) and it costs me $10 for 90 pills, no matter what dosage.

Just a note, my doctor put me on Fortament which is a time release form of Metformin. There is no generic availible and Super Target wanted $180 for a 30 day supply. My insurance brought it down to $50 per prescription.
I feel like I'm being ripped off.
