Hello,
My name is Tara.
Im 22 years old with PSOS.
My fience and i have been together for 3 years now.
We have been trying to have a baby.
I was diagnosed and put on birth control when i was 17.
I took myself off the birth control about 3 years ago.
We didnt seriously start trying to conceve intill about a year ago.
We bought a house and all, and now really want to settle down and be a family.
I have had a regular period sence i was about 19, and its been normal sence.
I really cant afford fertility drugs, nor do i really wnat to take that step inless really needed.
I just need someone to lift my spirits, and tell me it IS possible for me to get pregnate. And not tell me all the bad things.
I have heard of people getting regular again and then just losing weight and getting preg. please, someone just give me hope. Thats all im asking.
Thank you

Tara -- yes it is possible to get pregnant on your own, to get pregnant with only loosing weight, or only going on Metformin (it isn't a fertility drug, it is to help with symptoms of PCOS and is usually pretty inexpensive). I highly suggest talking to your dr. about the metformin to see if it would be right for you, and waiting till after you get married to get pregnant. Having a baby is extremely stressful and a strain on a relationship no matter how "well" the baby behaves and if you have extreme circumstances it can make it even more stressful.

we are getting married next month by the jp, so im not really worried about that.
I was put on metformin for awhile. and i had to take myself off it, only cause i was living alone and had no money at all.
I put myself back on it and all, and teh dr said it was okay.
i just needed to know that someone else knew what i was going threw and that it was possible

I got pregnant after being on Met for 6 months, with nothing else but Met. We had been trying for years, and then I got on Met, and it worked wonders for me in helping my body "work" the way it is supposed to. I got pregnant and M/c (that cycle using Met and Clomid), and then got pregnant the next cycle on just the Met.
